1Accurate parameter estimation of systematic odometry errors for two-wheel differential mobile robots显示文摘Odometry using incremental wheel encoder sensors provides the relative robot pose estimation. However, the odometry suffers from the accumulation of kinematic modeling errors of wheels as the robot's travel distance increases. Therefore, the systematic errors need to be calibrated. The University of Michigan Benchmark(UMBmark)method is a widely used calibration scheme of the systematic errors in two-wheel differential mobile robots. In this paper, the accurate parameter estimation of systematic errors is proposed by extending the conventional method. The contributions of this paper can be summarized as two issues. The first contribution is to present new calibration equations that reduce the systematic odometry errors. The new equations were derived to overcome the limitation of conventional schemes. The second contribution is to propose the design guideline of the test track for calibration experiments. The calibration performance can be improved by appropriate design of the test track. The simulations and experimental results show that the accurate parameter estimation can be implemented by the proposed method.Changbae Jung Woojin Chung 2012Journal of Measurement Science and Instrumentation2012,3,3:2

63D obstacle detection of indoor mobile robots by floor detection and rejection显示文摘Obstacle detection is essential for mobile robots to avoid collision with obstacles.Mobile robots usually operate in indoor environments, where they encounter various kinds of obstacles;however,2D range sensor can sense obstacles only in 2D plane. In contrast,by using 3D range sensor,it is possible to detect ground and aerial obstacles that 2D range sensor cannot sense. In this paper,we present a 3D obstacle detection method that will help overcome the limitations of 2D range sensor with regard to obstacle detection. The indoor environment typically consists of a flat floor. The position of the floor can be determined by estimating the plane using the least squares method.Having determined the position of the floor, the points of obstacles can be known by rejecting the points of the floor. In the experimental section,we show the results of this approach using a Kinect sensor.Donggeun Cha Woojin Chung 2013Journal of Measurement Science and Instrumentation2013,4,4:1

8Particle-filter-based walking prediction model for occlusion situations显示文摘In the field of mobile robotics, human tracking has emerged as an important objective for facilitating human-robot interaction. In this paper,we propose a particle-filter-based walking prediction model that will address an occlusion situation.Since the target being tracked is a human leg,a motion model for a leg is required. The validity of the proposed model is verified experimentally.Yoonchang Sung Woojin Chung 2013Journal of Measurement Science and Instrumentation2013,4,3:1
9Performance comparison of leg detection methods using laser range finder显示文摘Human interaction becomes an important issue in the field of mobile robotics. To achieve human-friendly navigation, the robot needs to recognize human on cluttered backgrounds, and this can be fulfilled by the detection of human legs. The detection of human legs is advantageous because it enables detecting environmental obstacles at such heights. In this paper,we compared the performance of an algorithm using a single laser range finder(LRF)proposed in Ref.[1] with that of well-known feature extraction approaches-bounding box and circle fitting proposed in Ref.[2] by using the same laser scanned image.Yoonchang Sung Hoyeon Kim Yoonkyu Yoo Jooyoung Park Woojin Chung 2012Journal of Measurement Science and Instrumentation2012,3,3:0
10Novel saline injection technique for the reversal of the continuous costoclavicular block显示文摘To the Editor:Although regional anesthesia provides prolonged post-operative analgesia, there is no suitable method that can facilitate an early reversal of the blockade until the duration of action of the local anesthetic has elapsed.A large quantity of saline is used to reverse the central neuraxial block.[1,2]However,to our knowledge,no study has reported a method for reversing nerve blockade in peripheral nerve blocks, especially costoclavicular blocks.Herein,we report a case of dramatic recovery of both motor and sensory functions after saline injection through the catheter in a patient who was administered a continuous costoclavicular block for analgesia after shoulder surgery.Jihyun Chung Seunguk Bang Youngin Lee Woojin Kwon Kyudon Chung 2021Chinese Medical Journal2021,,24:0
11Triangulated Cylinder Origami-Based Piezoelectric/Triboelectric Hybrid Generator to Harvest Coupled Axial and Rotational Motion显示文摘Piezoelectric nanogenerators(PENGs)and triboelectric nanogenerators(TENGs)are representative technologies that can harvest mechanical energy. In general,piezoelectric/triboelectric hybrid generators can harvest considerable energy with a limited input;however,PENGs and TENGs entail different requirements for harvesting energy.Specifically,PENGs produce a large output when a large mechanical strain is applied, and TENGs require a large surface area to produce a high power. Therefore,it is necessary to develop an innovative strategy in terms of the structural design to satisfy the requirements of both PENGs and TENGs.In this study,we developed a triangulated cylinder origami-based piezoelectric/triboelectric hybrid generator(TCOHG)with an origami structure to enable effective energy harvesting. The proposed structure consists of a vertical contactseparation TENG on the surface of the triangulated cylinder,PENG on the inner hinge, and rotational TENG on the top substrate to harvest mechanical energy from each motion. Each generator could produce a separate electrical output with a single input. The TCO-HG could charge a 22μF commercial capacitor and power 60 LEDs when operated.Jihoon Chung Myunghwan Song Seh-Hoon Chung Woojin Choi Sanghyun Lee Zong-Hong Lin Jinkee Hong Sangmin Lee 2021Research2021,,1:0
12Hoarseness of voice and discomfort in the throat observed after quadratus lumborum block显示文摘To the Editor:Transmuscular quadratus lumborum block(TQLB)is known to provide visceral analgesia by blocking sympathetic fibers by spreading into the thoracic paravertebral spaces.[1]It is relatively safer than other conventional methods of analgesia. However,to our knowledge, there have been no reports of hoarseness associated with TQLB.Herein,we report two cases of hoarseness and discomfort to the throat after TQLB.Jihyun Chung Seunguk Bang Woojin Kwon Youngin Lee Jinsoo Kim 2021Chinese Medical Journal2021,,16:0
