1Efficacy of Phacovitrectomy Combined with Internal Limiting Membrane Peeling for Macular Diseases显示文摘Purpose:To observe the efficacy of vitrectomy with internal limiting membrane.(ILM) peeling combined with phacoemulsification with intraocular lens.(IOL) implantation in the treatment of cataract with co-existing macular diseases.Methods:A total of 28 cataract patients (28 eyes) with coexisting macular diseases were admitted to Aier Eye Hospital between May 2008 and May 2011.The clinical characteristics were analyzed in this study.Subjects included 6 men and 22 women,aged from 56 to 77 years (mean 64 years),with duration of disease ranging from 2 to 36 months (mean 9.3 months).All patients underwent phacoemulsification with implantation of a hydrophobic acrylic IOL into the capsular bag and pars plana vitrectomy with ILM peeling.Results:Postoperatively,patients underwent 3-to 18-months of follow-up.(mean 7.2 months).Only one eye had macular hole failing to close.Normal macular structure was restored in the other 27 eyes.The presenting visual acuity and best corrected visual acuity.(BCVA) did not differ significantly (t =-1.724,P =0.096),with the BCVA in 27 eyes.(96.4%).improving by 2 lines or more.The improvement in minimum angle of resolution.(MAR).was > 0.3 in 21 eyes,≥0.1 in 6 eyes and<0.1 in 1 eye.The mean spherical equivalent.(SE) was-4.67±5.98D preoperatively and-0.38±0.69D postoperatively (t=4.157,P<0.005).Conclusion:Combined phacovitrectomy surgery is a reliable and safe procedure in the treatment of cataract complicated by macular disease.Zheming Wu Jinglin Zhang Yun Chen Rulong Gao Zhende Lin 2012Eye Science2012,27,1:3
2An efficient probabilistic design approach for tunnel face stability by inverse reliability analysis显示文摘In order to maintain the safety of underground constructions that significantly involve geo-material uncertainties,this paper delivers a new computation framework for conducting reliability-based design(RBD)of shallow tunnel face stability,utilizing a simplified inverse first-order reliability method(FORM).The limit state functions defining tunnel face stability are established for both collapse and blow-out modes of the tunnel face failure,respectively,and the deterministic results of the tunnel face support pressure are obtained through three-dimensional finite element limit analysis(FELA).Because the inverse reliability method can directly capture the design support pressure according to prescribed target reliability index,the computational cost for probabilistic design of tunnel face stability is greatly reduced.By comparison with Monte Carlo simulation results,the accuracy and feasibility of the proposed method are verified.Further,this study presents a series of reliability-based design charts for vividly understanding the limit support pressure on tunnel face in both cohesionless(sandy)soil and cohesive soil stratums,and their optimal support pressure ranges are highlighted.The results show that in the case of sandy soil stratum,the blowout failure of tunnel face is extremely unlikely,whereas the collapse is the only possible failure mode.The parametric study of various geotechnical uncertainties also reveals that ignoring the potential correlation between soil shear strength parameters will lead to over-designed support pressure,and the coefficient of variation of internal friction angle has a greater influence on the tunnel face failure probability than that of the cohesion.Jian Ji Zheming Zhang Zhijun Wu Jiacheng Xia Yongxin Wu Qing Lüc 2021Geoscience Frontiers2021,12,5:2

6Treatment efficacy of tolterodine versus belladonna mixture in children with idiopathic overactive bladder显示文摘Objectives Children with symptoms of urinary urgency,frequency and incontinence are common in the clinic.The aim of the present study was to compare the tolerability and efficacy of tolterodine,a bladder-selective muscarinic receptor antagonist,with belladonna mixture,a traditional anticholinergic drug,in the treatment of idiopathic overactive bladder in children.Methods Children aged 5-10 years with a history of diurnal urgency,frequency and incontinence were randomly divided into two groups.Participants in group 1 were given tolterodine 1 mg twice a day for 14 days.If the results were found to be mildly ineffective,after the first 14 days of therapy,prolonged course with 2 mg twice a day was given.In group 2,the children were treated with belladonna mixture 5 mL twice a day for 14 days.Anticholinergic side effects were recorded during the therapy and efficacy was evaluated with voiding diary recorded by the parents at the beginning and end of therapy.results A total of 668 cases were included in this study and 334 for each 25 group(496 boys and 172 girls).Evident anticholinergic side effects which could cease the therapy,such as dry mouth,constipation,mood changes,irritability,and so on,exhibited only on 2%of participants in the tolterodine group but 69%in the belladonna mixture group(p≤0.05).The symptoms of detrusor overactivity disappeared or significantly improved in 80%of children in the tolterodine group and 37%in the belladonna mixture(p≤0.05)group.Conclusions Tolterodine had better tolerability and efficacy than belladonna mixture in treating overactive bladder in children.Zheming Xu Dehua Wu Chang Tao Juan Zhou Zhihui Zheng Daxing Tang 2019World Journal of Pediatric Surgery2019,2,2:0
7A ribosomal gene panel predicting a novel synthetic lethality in non-BRCAness tumors显示文摘Poly(ADP-ribose)polymerase(PARP)inhibitors are one of the most exciting classes of targeted therapy agents for cancers with homologous recombination(HR)deficiency.However,many patients without apparent HR defects also respond well to PARP inhibitors/cisplatin.The biomarker responsible for this mechanism remains unclear.Here,we identified a set of ribosomal genes that predict response to PARP inhibitors/cisplatin in HR-proficient patients.PARP inhibitor/cisplatin selectively eliminates cells with high expression of the eight genes in the identified panel via DNA damage(ATM)signaling-induced pro-apoptotic ribosomal stress,which along with ATM signaling-induced pro-survival HR repair constitutes a new model to balance the cell fate in response to DNA damage.Therefore,the combined examination of the gene panel along with HR status would allow for more precise predictions of clinical response to PARP inhibitor/cisplatin.The gene panel as an independent biomarker was validated by multiple published clinical datasets,as well as by an ovarian cancer organoids library we established.More importantly,its predictive value was further verified in a cohort of PARP inhibitor-treated ovarian cancer patients with both RNA-seq and WGS data.Furthermore,we identified several marketed drugs capable of upregulating the expression of the genes in the panel without causing HR deficiency in PARP inhibitor/cisplatin-resistant cell lines.These drugs enhance PARP inhibitor/cisplatin sensitivity in both intrinsically resistant organoids and cell lines with acquired resistance.Together,our study identifies a marker gene panel for HR-proficient patients and reveals a broader application of PARP inhibitor/cisplatin in cancer therapy.Chao Zhang Qiang Guo Lifeng Chen Zheming Wu Xiao-Jian Yan Chengyang Zou Qiuxue Zhang Jiahong Tan Tian Fang Qunxian Rao Yang Li Shizhen Shen Min Deng Liewei Wang Huanyao Gao Jia Yu Hu Li Cheng Zhang Somaira Nowsheen Jake Kloeber Fei Zhao Ping Yin Chunbo Teng Zhongqiu Lin Kun Song Shuzhong Yao Liangqing Yao Lingying Wu Yong Zhang Xiaodong Cheng Qinglei Gao Jian Yuan Zhenkun Lou Jin-San Zhang 2023Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2023,8,6:0
