1Bird diversity and waterbird habitat preferences in relation to wetland restoration at Dianchi Lake, south-west China显示文摘Background:Restoration projects have been implemented worldwide to mitigate the adverse effects of the loss and degradation of wetland habitats.Much research has been carried out on the impacts on birds of wetland restoration and management projects in China. Studies have mainly investigated central or coastal wetlands,while inland wetlands in remote areas have been much less studied. We focused on examining the response of wild birds to wetland restoration in Dianchi Lake,south-west China. Methods: The line transect method was performed at 26 sampling plots.Three of these were in the city,and to acquire all wild bird data 23 plots were located every 2-8 km along the shore of Dianchi Lake, between December 2011 and November 2013.We collected all related bird records by searching the available literature, articles, newspapers and records of birdwatchers to compare species variation before and after implementation of wetland restoration.To measure the relationships between waterbird assemblages and habitat structures, we used canonical correspondence analysis (CCA) to pair the main matrix of bird assemblages with a second matrix of habitat variables. Results: We recorded 182 bird species belonging to 51 families and 17 orders. Of the species, 42 were new records for Kunming City and 20 were new records for Yunnan Province. Ten waterbird species were found to have disappeared from the shore of Dianchi Lake.CCA results indicated that waterbirds could be divided into four categories based on their habitat preference:synanthropic (wintering gulls), special habitat (shorebirds),semi-natural (wintering coots and ducks) and disturbance-tolerant (resident) species.Conclusions:Our study is the first to consider the entire wild bird community throughout the year and discuss the species variation before and after wetland restoration projects launched for Dianchi Lake.Distinct habitat requirements of different waterbird groups were detected in our study,suggesting different types of restoration and management should be implemented.Kang Luo Zhaolu Wu Haotian Bai Zijiang Wang 2019Avian Research2019,10,3:9
2Notch signaling pathway mediates the immunomodulatory mechanism of Yangfei Huoxue decoction alleviating bleomycin-induced pulmonary fibrosis in rats显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the immunomodulatory mechanism by which Yangfei Huoxue decoction(YHD) alleviates bleomycin(BLM)-induced pulmonary fibrosis(PF) in rats.METHODS: Rats were randomly divided into two time-point groups(day 14 and 28), and each timepoint group comprised the following six subgroups: control, BLM, dexamethasone(DXM), YHD high dose(YHD-H), YHD middle dose(YHD-M), and YHD low dose(YHD-L). Haematoxylin and eosin and Masson staining, flow cytometry, enzymelinked immunosorbent assay, Western blotting and UPLC-QT of analyses were examined.RESULTS: The results showed that YHD reduced the degree of alveolar inflammation and fibrosis;downregulated the expression of CD28, CD80,CD86, Delta-like 1, Notch2, and Notch3;and upregulated the proportions of Th1/Th2 and Tc1/Tc2. 4Information theory of metasurfaces显示文摘We propose a theory to characterize the information and information processing abilities of metasurfaces,and demonstrate the relation between the information of the metasurface and its radiation pattern in the far-field region.By incorporating a general aperturemodel with uncertainty relation in L2-space,we propose a theory to predict the upper bound of information contained in the radiation pattern of a metasurface,and reveal the theoretical upper limit of orthogonal radiation states.Theproposed theory also provides guidance for inverse design of the metasurface with respect to given functionalities.Through investigation of the information of disordered-phase modulated metasurfaces,we find the information invariance(1?γ,whereγis Euler’s constant)of chaotic radiation patterns.That is to say,the information of the disordered-phase modulated radiation patterns is always equal to 1?γ,regardless of variations in size,the number of elements and the phase pattern of metasurface.This value might be the lower bound of radiation-pattern information of the metasurface,which can provide a theoretical limit for information modulation applications,including computational imaging,stealth technologies and wireless communications.Haotian Wu Guo Dong Bai Shuo Liu Lianlin Li Xiang Wan Qiang Cheng Tie Jun Cui 2020National Science Review2020,7,3:5
5Homogeneous label-free fluorescent assay of small molecule-protein interactions using protein binding-inhibited transcription nanomachine显示文摘Quantitative analysis of interactions between small molecules and proteins is a central challenge in chemical genetics, molecular diagnostics and drug developments. Here, we developed a RNA transcription nanomachine by assembling T7 RNA polymerase on a small molecule-labeled DNA heteroduplex. The nanomachine, of which the RNA transcription activity can be quantitatively inhibited by protein binding, showed a great potential for small molecule-protein interaction assay. This finding enabled us to develop a novel homogeneous label-free strategy for assays of interactions between small molecules and their protein receptors. Three small molecule compounds and their protein receptors have been used to demonstrate the developed strategy. The results revealed that the protein-small molecule interaction assay strategy shows dynamic responses in the concentration range from 0.5 to 64 nM with a detection limit of 0.2 nM. 6Switching Power System Stabilizer and Its Coordination for Enhancement of Multi-machine Power System Stability显示文摘This paper proposes a coordinated switching power system stabilizer(SPSS)to enhance the stability of multimachine power systems.The SPSS switches between a bang-bang power system stabilizer(BPSS)and a conventional power system stabilizer(CPSS)based on a state-dependent switching strategy.The BPSS is designed as a bang-bang constant funnel controller(BCFC).It is able to provide fast damping of rotor speed oscillations in a bang-bang manner.The closed-loop stability of the power system controlled by the SPSSs and the CPSSs is analyzed.To verify the control performance of the SPSS,simulation studies are carried out in a 4-generator 11-bus power system and the IEEE 16-generator 68-bus power system.The damping ability of the SPSS is evaluated in aspects of small-signal oscillation damping and transient stability enhancement,respectively.Meanwhile,the coordination between different SPSSs and the coordination between the SPSS and the CPSS are investigated therein.Yang Liu Qinghua Wu Haotian Kang Xiaoxin Zhou 2016CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems2016,2,2:4
7Switching Excitation Controller for Enhancement of Transient Stability of Multi-machine Power Systems显示文摘This paper proposes a switching structure excitation controller(SSEC)to enhance the transient stability of multimachine power systems.The SSEC switches between a bangbang funnel excitation controller(BFEC)and a conventional excitation controller(CEC),based on an appropriately designed state-dependent switching strategy.Only the tracking error of rotor angle is required to realize the BFEC in a bang-bang manner with two control values.If the feasibility assumptions of the BFEC are satisfied,the tracking error of rotor angle can be regulated within the predefined error funnels.The power system having the SSEC installed can achieve faster convergence performance compared to that having the CEC implemented only.Simulation studies are carried out in the New England 10-generator 39-bus power system.The control performance of the SSEC is evaluated in the cases that three-phase-to-ground fault and transmission line outage occur in the power system,respectively.Haotian Kang Yang Liu Qinghua Wu Xiaoxin Zhou 2015CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems2015,1,3:2
8Microstructure evolution and deformation mechanism of amorphous/crystalline high-entropy-alloy composites显示文摘High-entropy amorphous alloys present high hardness,but low tensile ductility.Here,deformation behavior of the amorphous/crystalline Fe Co Cr Ni high-entropy alloy(HEA)composite prepared by the previous experiment is investigated using atomic simulations.The result shows the partial dislocations in the crystal HEA layer,and the formation of shear bands in the amorphous HEA layer occurs after yielding.The strength of the amorphous/crystalline HEA composite reduces with increasing the thickness of the amorphous layer,agreeing with the previous experiments.The coupled interaction between the crystal plasticity and amorphous plasticity in amorphous/crystalline HEA composites results in a more homogeneous redistribution of plastic deformation to cause interface hardening,due to the complex stress field in the amorphous layer.The current findings provide the insight into the deformation behavior of the amorphous/crystalline HEA composite at the nanoscale,which are useful for optimizing the structure of the HEA composite with high strength and good plasticity.Jia Li Haotian Chen Hui Feng Qihong Fang Yong Liu Feng Liu Hong Wu Peter K Liaw 2020Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020,54,19:2
9Oxidation-strengthened disulfide-bridged prodrug nanoplatforms with cascade facilitated drug release for synergetic photochemotherapy显示文摘One of the major barriers in utilizing prodrug nanocarriers for cancer therapy is the slow release of parent drug in tumors.Tumor cells generally display the higher oxidative level than normal cells,and also displayed the heterogeneity in terms of redox homeostasis level.We previously found that the disulfide bond-linkage demonstrates surprising oxidationsensitivity to form the hydrophilic sulfoxide and sulphone groups.Herein,we develop oxidation-strengthened prodrug nanosystem loaded with pyropheophorbide a(PPa)to achieve light-activatable cascade drug release and enhance therapeutic efficacy.The disulfide bond-driven prodrug nanosystems not only respond to the redox-heterogeneity in tumor,but also respond to the exogenous oxidant(singlet oxygen)elicited by photosensitizers.Once the prodrug nanoparticles(NPs)are activated under irradiation,they would undergo an oxidative self-strengthened process,resulting in a facilitated drug cascade release.The IC50 value of the PPa@PTX-S-S NPs without irradiation was 2-fold higher than those of NPs plus irradiation.In vivo,the PPa@PTX prodrug NPs display prolonged systemic circulation and increased accumulation in tumor site.The PPa@PTXS-S NPs showed much higher efficiency than free PTX or the PPa@PTX-C-C NPs to suppress the growth of 4 T1 tumors.Therefore,this novel oxidation-strengthened disulfide-bridged prodrug-nanosystem has a great potential in the enhanced efficacy of cancer synergetic photochemotherapy.Bin Yang Lin Wei Yuequan Wang Na Li Bin Ji Kaiyuan Wang Xuanbo Zhang Shenwu Zhang Shuang Zhou Xiaohui Yao Hang Song Yusheng Wu Haotian Zhang Qiming Kan Tao Jin Jin Sun 2020Asian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences2020,15,5:2
10Non-Hermitian Skin Effect in a Non-Hermitian Electrical Circuit显示文摘The conventional bulk-boundary correspondence directly connects the number of topological edge states in a finite system with the topological invariant in the bulk band structure with periodic boundary condition(PBC).However,recent studies show that this principle fails in certain non-Hermitian systems with broken reciprocity,which stems from the non-Hermitian skin effect(NHSE)in the finite system where most of the eigenstates decay exponentially from the system boundary.In this work,we experimentally demonstrate a 1D non-Hermitian topological circuit with broken reciprocity by utilizing the unidirectional coupling feature of the voltage follower module.The topological edge state is observed at the boundary of an open circuit through an impedance spectra measurement between adjacent circuit nodes.We confirm the inapplicability of the conventional bulk-boundary correspondence by comparing the circuit Laplacian between the periodic boundary condition(PBC)and open boundary condition(OBC).Instead,a recently proposed non-Bloch bulk-boundary condition based on a non-Bloch winding number faithfully predicts the number of topological edge states.Shuo Liu Ruiwen Shao Shaojie Ma Lei Zhang Oubo You Haotian Wu Yuan Jiang Xiang Tie Jun Cui Shuang Zhang 2021Research2021,,1:2

15Optical manipulation in optofluidic microbubble resonators显示文摘An optical manipulation system based on optofluidic microbubble resonators(MBR) is proposed. As the high-Q whispering gallery modes(WGMs) are excited in an MBR, the buildup of the field intensity inside the resonator is large enough to trap nanoscale particles. The optical gradient forces generated by the WGMs with different radial orders are investigated numerically. The negative effect of the resonance detuning induced by the particles is taken into account to investigate the optical gradient forces exerting on the particles. 16Molecular phylogeographic analyses and species delimitations reveal that Leopoldamys edwardsi(Rodentia:Muridae)is a species complex显示文摘Leopoldamys edwardsi is a species with wide distribution ranges in southern China but is not discussed in stud­ies on geographic variation and species differentiation.We used 2 mitochondrial(Cytb,CO1)and 3 nuclear(GHR,IRBP and RAG1)genes to clarify species phylogeography and geographical differentiation.Maximum likelihood(ML)and Bayesian phylogenetic inference(BI)trees consistently indicated that L.edwardsi is a spe­cies complex containing 3 main lineages with high Kimura-2-parameter(K2P)divergences(i.e.lineages LN,LS and LHN)found in the northern and southern China and Hainan Island,respectively.The 3 species delimitation methods,automated barcoding gap discovery,Bayesian poisson tree process analysis and Bayesian phylogenet­ics and phylogeography,consistently supported the existence of cryptic species.Divergence times among the main lineages were inferred to be during the Pleistocene,with LHN/LS split at 1.33 Ma and LN/(LHN+LS)at 2.61 Ma;the diversifications of L.edwardsi complex might be caused by the rapid uplifts of Tibetan Plateau,paleo­climate change and complex topography.The divergence between LHN and LS was probably related to the sepa­ration of Hainan Island from the mainland via the formation of the Qiongzhou Strait.Lineages LN and(LS+LHN)likely diverged due to the Wuyi-Nanling mountain range forming a dispersal barrier.Our results suggested that L.edwardsi complex contains at least 3 distinct species:LHN represents L.hainanensis,endemic to Hainan Island and previously considered as a subspecies L.e.hainanensis;LS represents a cryptic species distributed through­out the southern Chinese continent;and LN represents the nominotypical species L.edwardsi.Haotian LI Lingming KONG Kaiyun WANG Shuping ZHANG Masaharu MOTOKAWA Yi WU Wenquan WANG Yuchun LI 2019Integrative Zoology2019,14,5:1
17Deciphering the Role of Fluoroethylene Carbonate towards Highly Reversible Sodium Metal Anodes显示文摘Sodium metal anodes(SMAs)sufer from extremely low reversibility(<20%)in carbonate based clectrolytes-this piece of knowledge gained from previous studics has ruled out the application of carbonate solvents for sodium metal batteries.Here,we overturn this conclusion by incorporating fluoroethylene carbonate(FEC)as cosolvent that renders a Na plating/stripping fficiency of>95%with conventional NaPF。salt at a regular concentration(1.0M).The peculiar role of FEC is firstly.unraveled via its involvement into the solvation structure,where a threshold FEC concentration with a coordination number>1.2 is needed in guaranteeing high Na reversibility over the long-term.Specifially,by incorporating an average number of 1.2 FEC molecules into the primary Na*solvation sheath,lowest unoccupied molecular orbital(LUMO)levels of such Nat-FEC solvates undergo further decrease,with spin electrons residing either on the O=C 0(O)moiety of FEC or sharing between Na*and its C=:O bond,which ensures a prior FEC decomposition in passivating the Na surface against other carbonate molecules.Further,by adopting cryogenic tranmission electron microscopy(cryo-TEM),we found that the Na filaments grow into substantially larger diameter from-400nm to>1 pum with addition of FEC upon the threshold value.A.highly crstalline and much thiner(-40 nm)slid-electrolyte interphase(SED)is consequently observed to uniformly wrap the Na surface,in contrast to the severely corroded Na as retrieved from the blank electrolyte.The potence of FEC is further demonstrated in a series of'corrosive solvents'such as ethy!l acetate(EA)。trimethyl phosphate(TMP),and actonitrile(AN)enabling highly reversible SMAs in the otherwise unusable solvent systems.Xueying Zheng Suting Weng Wei Luo Bo Chen Xiao Zhang Zhenyi Gu Haotian Wang Xiaolu Ye Xuyang Liu Liqiang Huang Xinglong Wu Xuefeng Wang Yunhui Huang 2022Research2022,,2:1

19Direction controllable inverse transition radiation from the spatial dispersion in a graphene-dielectric stack显示文摘Transition radiation(TR) induced by electron–matter interaction usually demands vast accelerating voltages, and the radiation angle cannot be controlled. Here we present a mechanism of direction controllable inverse transition radiation(DCITR) in a graphene-dielectric stack excited by low-velocity electrons. The revealed mechanism shows that the induced hyperbolic-like spatial dispersion and the superposition of the individual bulk graphene plasmons(GPs) modes make the fields, which are supposed to be confined on the surface, radiate in the stack along a special radiation angle normal to the Poynting vector. By adjusting the chemical potential of the graphene sheets, the radiation angle can be controlled. And owing to the excitation of bulk GPs, only hundreds of volts for the accelerating voltage are required and the field intensity is dramatically enhanced compared with that of the normal TR.
