| 2 | Abiogenic hydrocarbons in commercial gases from the Songliao Basin,China显示文摘This paper discusses the kinetic fractionation, composition and distribution characteristics of carbon and hydrogen isotopes for various alkane gases formed in different environments, by different mecha- nisms and from different sources in nature. It is demonstrated that the biodegradation or thermode- gradation of complex high-molecule sedimentary organic material can form microbial gas or thermogenic gas. The δ 13C1 value ranges from -110‰ to -50‰ for microbial gases but from -50‰ to -35‰ (even heavier) for thermogenic gases. Controlled by the kinetic isotope fractionation, both microbial and thermogenic gases have δ 13C and δ D values characterized by normal distribution, i.e. δ 13C1< δ 13C2< δ 13C3< δ 13C4 and δ DCH4< δ DC2H6< δ DC3H8<δ DC4H10, and by a positive correlation between the δ 13C and δ D values. Simple carbonbearing molecules (CH4, CO and CO2) can form abiogenic alkane gases via polymerization in the abiological chemical process in nature, with δ 13C1 heavier than -30‰. Moreover, controlled by the kinetic isotope fractionation, abiogenic alkane gases are characterized by a reverse distribution of δ 13C values and a normal trend of δ D values, namely δ 13C1> δ 13C2> δ 13C3> δ 13C4 and δ DCH4<δ DC2H6< δ DC3H8< δ DC4H10. The δ 13C values and δ D values are negatively correlated. Natural gases from 26 commercial gas wells distributed in the Xujiaweizi and Yingshan-Miaotaizi faulted depressions in the Songliao Basin, China, show δ13C1 values ranging from -30.5‰ to -16.7‰ with a very narrow δ D range between -203‰―-196‰. These gases are characterized by a reverse distribution of δ 13C values but a normal distribution of δ D values, and a negative correlation between their δ 13C and δ D values, indicating an abiological origin. The present study has revealed that abiogenic hydrocarbons not only exist in nature but also can make significant contribution to commercial gas reserviors. It is estimated that the reserve volume of alkane gases with abiogenic characteristics in these 26 gas wells in the Songliao Basin is over 500×108 m3. The theory of percent regression analysis is applied to the curve fitting of forming limit experimental data.Forecast intervals of FLC percentiles can be calculated. Thus reliability and confidence level can be considered. The theoretical method to get the limits of limit strain points distributing region is presented, and the FLC position can be adjusted according to practical requirement. Method for establishing FLC with high reliability using small samples is presented at the same time. | 4 | Bioresponsive nanotherapy for preventing dental caries by inhibiting multispecies cariogenic biofilms显示文摘Early childhood caries(ECC)is a public healthcare concern that greatly reduces the quality of life of young children.As a leading factor of ECC,cariogenic biofilms are composed of acidogenic/aciduric pathogens and extracellular polysaccharides(EPSs),creating an acidic and protected microenvironment.Antimicrobial photodynamic therapy(aPDT)is a noninvasive,painless,and efficient therapeutic approach that is suitable for treating ECC.However,due to the hyperfine structure of cariogenic biofilms,most photosensitizers(PSs)could not access and penetrate deeply in biofilms,which dramatically hamper their efficiency in the clinic.Herein,bioresponsive nanoparticle loaded with chlorin e6(MPP-Ce6)is developed,which largely increases the penetration depth(by over 75%)and retention(by over 100%)of PS in the biofilm compared with free Ce6.Furthermore,MPP-Ce6-mediated aPDT not only kills the bacteria in preformed biofilms but also inhibits multispecies biofilm formation.A rampant caries model is established to mimic ECC in vivo,where the population of cariogenic bacteria is decreased to 10%after MPP-Ce6-mediated aPDT.Importantly,the number and severity of carious lesions are efficiently reduced via Keyes’scoring and micro-CT analysis.This simple but effective strategy can serve as a promising approach for daily oral hygiene in preventing ECC. | Danfeng Liu Xianbin Ma Yaoting Ji Rourong Chen Shuhui Zhou Hantao Yao Zichen Zhang Mengjie Ye Zhigang Xu Minquan Du | 2022 | Bioactive Materials2022,7,8: | 2 |

| 8 | Immunotoxicity of Hydrocortisone on Th1/Th2-Related Cytokine Production Is Associated with Yang-Deficient State in Traditional Chinese Medicine显示文摘Steroid hormone serving as an immunosuppressor often induces immunotoxicity when administered in highest dosage or accumulated in long-term usage. The stage of high concentration of steroid hormone leading to a wide range of symptoms is associated to the yang-deficient state,which is the part of yin-yang imbalance involved in processes of many diseases in traditional Chinese medicine. Here we intend to investigate the profile of Th1/Th2-related cytokine transcriptions under yang-deficient conditions in a yang-deficient animal model by intramuscular injection of hydrocortisone (a kind of steroid hormone). The yang-deficient symptoms were estimated by detecting activity,appetite,body weight and so on. T cell proliferation and cytokine transcriptions were analyzed. The results showed that yang-deficient mice were established successfully since typical yang-deficient symptoms were observed in this model with decreased activities,appetite,body weight and temperature. More interestingly,the transcriptions of IFN-γ,IL-2,IL-4 and IL-10 in this model were markedly suppressed and the proliferation of lymphocytes significantly decreased as well. The results suggested that yang-deficient symptoms were related to the steroid-induced reduction of cytokine transcription and impairment of lymphocyte proliferation. | 15 | Hydrophobic Small-Molecule Polymers as High-Temperature-Resistant Inhibitors in Water-Based Drilling Fluids显示文摘Water-based drilling fluids can cause hydration of the wellbore rocks,thereby leading to instability.This study aimed to synthesize a hydrophobic small-molecule polymer(HLMP)as an inhibitor to suppress mud shale hydration.An infrared spectral method and a thermogravimetric technique were used to characterize the chemical composition of the HLMP and evaluate its heat stability.Experiments were conducted to measure the linear swelling,rolling recovery rate,and bentonite inhibition rate and evaluate accordingly the inhibition performance of the HLMP.Moreover,the HLMP was characterized through measurements of the zeta potential,particle size distribution,contact angles,and interlayer space testing.As confirmed by the results,the HLMP could successfully be synthesized with a favorable heat stability.Furthermore,favorable results were found for the inhibitory processes of the HLMP on swelling and dispersed hydration during mud shale hydration.The positively charged HLMP could be electrically neutralized with clay particles,thereby inhibiting diffusion in the double electron clay layers.The hydrophobic group in the HLMP molecular structure resulted in the formation of a hydrophobic membrane on the rock surface,enhancing the hydrophobicity of the rock.In addition,the small molecules of the HLMP could plug the spaces between the layers of bentonite crystals,thereby reducing the entry of water molecules and inhibiting shale hydration. | Xuyang Yao Kecheng Liu Zenan Zhou Jun Zhou Xianbin Huang Tiemei Lu Yongsheng Yu He Li | 2023 | Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing2023,19,7: | 0 |
