1Impact of feeding flaxseed and microalgal residue on omega-3 fatty acids enrichment in hen eggs显示文摘To investigate the impact of dietary supplementation of different omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (n-3 PUFAs) resources on PUFAs enrichment in hen eggs, two supplemental materials, flaxseed and oil-extracted microalgal residue of heterotrophic Schizochytrium, were added to the diet of laying hens in 3 groups. Results showed that supplementation with flaxseed and Schizochytrium residue gave rise to the increased, but different n-3 PUFAs levels in egg yolk, mainly α-linolenic acid (ALA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). The ratio of n-6/n-3 PUFAs was reduced in all groups. After 14 days feeding of supplied PUFAs resources, n-3 PUFAs contents reached a plateau, and then remained constant during further supplementation in 3 experimental groups. Both the highest ALA level and DHA level were achieved in flaxseed group and microalgae group, reaching up to 353.69 (±68.15) mg/egg and 301.41 (± 26.76) mg/egg respectively. Moreover, the n-3 PUFAs enrichment efficiency was relatively low in flaxseed group when compared to other 2 groups. Laying rates of hens before entering peak production period could be improved by adding flaxseed but was not obviously affected by Schizochytrium residue. The egg weight, on the other hand, had no relationship with dietary supplementation. 2Tracing PRX1+cells during molar formation and periodontal ligament reconstruction显示文摘Neural crest-derived mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)are known to play an essential function during tooth and skeletal development.PRX1+cells constitute an important MSC subtype that is implicated in osteogenesis.However,their potential function in tooth development and regeneration remains elusive.In the present study,we first assessed the cell fate of PRX1+cells during molar development and periodontal ligament(PDL)formation in mice.Furthermore,single-cell RNA sequencing analysis was performed to study the distribution of PRX1+cells in PDL cells.The behavior of PRX1+cells during PDL reconstruction was investigated using an allogeneic transplanted tooth model.Although PRX1+cells are spatial specific and can differentiate into almost all types of mesenchymal cells in first molars,their distribution in third molars is highly limited.The PDL formation is associated with a high number of PRX1+cells;during transplanted teeth PDL reconstruction,PRX1+cells from the recipient alveolar bone participate in angiogenesis as pericytes.Overall,PRX1+cells are a key subtype of dental MSCs involved in the formation of mouse molar and PDL and participate in angiogenesis as pericytes during PDL reconstruction after tooth transplantation.Xuyan Gong Han Zhang Xiaoqiao Xu Yunpeng Ding Xingbo Yang Zhiyang Cheng Dike Tao Congjiao Hu Yaozu Xiang Yao Sun 2022International Journal of Oral Science2022,14,1:2

5Satellite-observed significant improvement in nearshore transparency of the Bohai Sea during pollution control显示文摘The Bohai Sea(BS)is the unique semi-closed inland sea of China,characterized by degraded water quality due to significant terrestrial pollution input.In order to improve its water quality,a dedicated action named“Uphill Battles for Integrated Bohai Sea Management”(UBIBSM,2018–2020)was implemented by the Chinese government.To evaluate the action effectiveness toward water quality improvement,variability of the satelliteobserved water transparency(Secchi disk depth,Z_(SD))was explored,with special emphasis on the nearshore waters(within 20 km from the coastline)prone to terrestrial influence.(1)Compared to the status before the action began(2011–2017),majority(87.3%)of the nearshore waters turned clear during the action implementation period(2018–2020),characterized by the elevated Z_(SD)by 11.6%±12.1%.(2)Nevertheless,the improvement was not spatially uniform,with higher Z_(SD)improvement in provinces of Hebei,Liaoning,and Shandong(13.2%±16.5%,13.2%±11.6%,10.8%±10.2%,respectively)followed by Tianjin(6.2%±4.7%).(3)Bayesian trend analysis found the abrupt Z_(SD)improvement in April 2018,which coincided with the initiation of UBIBSM,implying the water quality response to pollution control.More importantly,the independent statistics of land-based pollutant discharge also indicated that the significant reduction of terrestrial pollutant input during the UBIBSM action was the main driver of observed Z_(SD)improvement.(4)Compared with previous pollution control actions in the BS,UBIBSM was found to be the most successful one during the past 20 years,in terms of transparency improvement over nearshore waters.The presented results proved the UBIBSM-achieved remarkable water quality improvement,taking the advantage of long-term consistent and objective data record from satellite ocean color observation.Xuyan Li Jinzhao Xiang Liudi Zhu Zhibin Yang Ting Wei Bing Mu Xiaobo Zhang Tingwei Cui 2023Acta Oceanologica Sinica2023,42,12:0
