1Relationship between P-glycoprotein and CD44 expression in esophageal carcinoma显示文摘Objective: To investigate the relationship between P-glycoprotein (P-gp) and adhesion molecule CD44 expression as well as their clinical significance in esophageal carcinoma. Methods: To examine the expressed level of P-gp and CD44 by flow cytometry (FCM) in the operated samples of 70 cases with esophageal carcinoma and their normal mucosa of esophageal incision, and to evaluate their relationship with clinicopathological factors. Results: Among the 70 cases with esophageal car- cinoma, the expression of P-gp in the 27 cases (38.6%) was negative (positive cells <25%); 11 cases (15.7%) were 25%–40% expression of P-gp positive cells; 14 cases (20%) were 41%–60% expression of P-gp positive cells; 18 cases (25.7%) were the high expression (positive cells >60%) of P-gp. Of the cases with the tumor sizes being more than 4 cm, the expression of CD44 showed a significant difference (P<0.05) in 25 cases with P-gp positive, compared with 19 cases with P-gp negative. Of the cases with high-mild differentiated esophageal carcinoma, the expression of CD44 showed a significant difference (P<0.05) in 22 cases with P-gp positive, compared with 17 cases with P-gp negative. Of the cases with clinical III--IV stage, the expression of CD44 showed a significant difference (P<0.05) in 26 cases with P-gp positive, compared with 10 cases with P-gp negative. Of the cases with lymph node metastasis, the CD44 expression showed a significant difference (P=0.050) in 27 cases with P-gp positive, compared with 11 cases with P-gp negative. Of the cases of the patients’ age being more than 56 years, the expression of CD44 showed a significant difference (P<0.01) in 27 cases with P-gp positive, compared with 12 cases with P-gp negative. When the P-gp and CD44 expression were positive, the clinical II stage and III–IV stage in esophageal carcinoma was showed a significant difference (P<0.05). 2Microstructure and Phase Transformation of a Niobium-rich TiAl-based Alloy Containing Boron and Carbon显示文摘Microstructure and phase transformation of Ti46Al8Nb0.5B0.2C alloy have been investigated.X-ray diffraction (XRD),optical microscopy (OM),scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) results show that as-cast and hot isostatic pressing (HIP) alloy mainly composed of γ and α 2 phase have fully lamellar microstructure with point-like or ribbon-like TiB 2 distributing in lamellar colony or at grain boundary.The mean size of lamellar colony is about 150 and 450 μm for as-cast and HIP alloy,respectively.The lamellar spacing is about 550 and 600 nm for as-cast and HIP alloy,respectively.It has been found that cooling rates and quenching temperatures have significant effect on phase transformation of Ti46Al8Nb0.5B0.2C alloy.When the alloy is treated at 1380℃ for 1 h and cooled from α domain,water cooling leads to complete α→α 2 transformation,oil cooling leads to predominant α→α 2 and part α→γ m transformation,air cooling leads to α→α + γ p2 →L(α + γ) →L(α 2 + γ) transformation,and furnace cooling leads to α→α + γ p3 →L(α + γ) →L(α 2 + γ) transformation.However,when the alloy is treated at 1400℃ for 1 h and cooled from α domain,water cooling leads to predominant α→α 2 and part α→α + γ p4 →γ m transformation,oil cooling leads to α→α + γ p5 →γ m transformation,air cooling leads to α→α + γ p6 →L(α + γ) →L(α 2 + γ) transformation,and furnace cooling leads to α→α + γ p7 →L(α + γ) →L(α 2 + γ) transformation.Microstructural evolution of the alloy during various heat treatments has been examined and the phase transformation mechanisms have been elucidated.Based on the experimental observation,schematic CCT diagrams for the alloy have been given.Ziyong Chen Xianglin Su Zhilei Xiang Zuoren Nie 2012Journal of Materials Science & Technology2012,28,5:3

4Synchronized oscillation in a modular neural network composed of columns显示文摘The columnar organization is a ubiquitous feature in the cerebral cortex. In this study, a neural network model simulating the cortical columns has been constructed. When fed with random pulse input with constant rate, a column generates synchronized oscillations, with a frequency varying from 3 to 43 Hz depending on parameter values. The behavior of the model under periodic stimulation was studied and the input-output relationship was non-linear. When identical columns were sparsely interconnected, the column oscillator could be locked in synchrony. 5Baseline radiologic features as predictors of efficacy in patients with pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors with liver metastases receiving surufatinib显示文摘Objective:Currently,pre-treatment prediction of patients with pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors with liver metastases(PNELM)receiving surufatinib treatment was unsatisfying.Our objective was to examine the association between radiological characteristics and efficacy/prognosis.Methods:We enrolled patients with liver metastases in the phase III,SANET-p trial(NCT02589821)and obtained contrast-enhanced computed tomography(CECT)images.Qualitative and quantitative parameters including hepatic tumor margins,lesion volumes,enhancement pattern,localization types,and enhancement ratios were evaluated.The progression-free survival(PFS)and hazard ratio(HR)were calculated using Cox’s proportional hazard model.Efficacy was analyzed by logistic-regression models.Results:Among 152 patients who had baseline CECT assessments and were included in this analysis,the surufatinib group showed statistically superior efficacy in terms of median PFS compared to placebo across various qualitative and quantitative parameters.In the multivariable analysis of patients receiving surufatinib(N=100),those with higher arterial phase standardized enhancement ratio-peri-lesion(ASER-peri)exhibited longer PFS[HR=0.039;95%confidence interval(95%CI):0.003−0.483;P=0.012].Furthermore,patients with a high enhancement pattern experienced an improvement in the objective response ratio[31.3%vs.14.7%,odds ratio(OR)=3.488;95%CI:1.024−11.875;P=0.046],and well-defined tumor margins were associated with a higher disease control rate(DCR)(89.3%vs.68.2%,OR=4.535;95%CI:1.285−16.011;P=0.019)compared to poorlydefined margins.Conclusions:These pre-treatment radiological features,namely high ASER-peri,high enhancement pattern,and well-defined tumor margins,have the potential to serve as predictive markers of efficacy in patients with PNELM receiving surufatinib.Jianwei Zhang Haibin Zhu Lin Shen Jie Li Xiaoyan Zhang Chunmei Bai Zhiwei Zhou Xianrui Yu Zhiping Li Enxiao Li Xianglin Yuan Wenhui Lou Yihebali Chi Nong Xu Yongmei Yin Yuxian Bai Tao Zhang Dianrong Xiu Jia Chen Shukui Qin Xiuwen Wang Yujie Yang Haoyun Shi Xian Luo Songhua Fan Weiguo Su Ming Lu Jianming Xu 2023Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2023,35,5:0

8In-situ growth of heterophase Ni nanocrystals on graphene for enhanced catalytic reduction of 4-nitrophenol显示文摘Generating heterophase structures in nanomaterials,e.g.,heterophase metal nanocrystals,is an effective way to tune their physicochemical properties because of their high-energy nature and unique electronic environment of the generated interfaces.However,the direct synthesis of heterophase metal nanocrystals remains a great challenge due to their unstable nature.Herein,we report the in situar direct synthesis of heterophase Ni nanocrystals on graphene.The heterostructure of face-centered cubic(fee)and hexagonal close-packed(hep)phase was generated via the epitaxial growth of hep Ni and the partial transformation of fee Ni and stabilized by the anchoring effect of graphene toward fee Ni nanocrystal and the preferential adsorption of surfactant polyethylenimine(PEI)toward epitaxial hep Ni.Comparing with the fee Ni nanocrystals grown on graphene,the heterophase(fcc/hcp)Ni nanocrystals in situ grown on graphene showed a greatly improved catalytic activity and reusability in 4-nitrophenol(4-NP)reduction to 4-aminophenol(4-AP).The measured apparent rate constant and the activity parameter were 2.958 min^(-1) and 102 min^(-1)·mg^(-1),respectively,higher than that of the best reported non-noble metal catalysts and most noble metal catalysts.The control experiments and density functional theory calculations reveal that the interface of the fee and hep phases enhances the adsorption of substrate 4-NP and thus facilitates the reaction kinetics.This work proves the novel idea for the rational design of heterophase metal nanocrystals by employing the synergistic effect of surfactant and support,and also the potential of creating the heterostructure for enhancing their catalytic reactivity.Jiahao Zhuang Feng He Xianglin Liu Pengchao Si Fangna Gu Jing Xu Yu Wang Guangwen Xu Ziyi Zhong Fabing Su 2022Nano Research2022,15,2:0
