| 1 | Wearable strain sensing textile based on one-dimensional stretchable and weavable yarn sensors显示文摘Flexible, wearable, and even stretchable sensors are the key components ofsmart electronic textiles. However, most reported flexible and wearable sensorsfor wearable electronics are usually fabricated in two-dimensional (2D) planarstrip configurations, which cannot be properly integrated into textile structuresand thus greatly degrade intrinsic properties such as the softness, flexibility, andair permeability of textiles and the aesthetic feeling of clothing. In this work, a newone-dimensional weavable strain sensing yarn consisting of an elastic polyurethane(PU) core, a conductive Ag-nanopartides/graphene-microsheets composite sheath,and a silicone encapsulation layer was designed and fabricated through aneasily manipulated protocol. Arising from the reasonable structural design andappropriate material selection, the as-fabricated strain sensor not only exhibitedexcellent flexibility, stretchability, and highly repeatable electromechanicalstability (a repeatability error of 1.56%) but also possessed both high sensitivity(a gauge factor of nearly 500) and a relatively wide working range (0-50%applied strain) with good linearity (a correlation coefficient of 0.98). In addition,the facile, nearly all-solution-based fabrication protocol enabled the scalableproduction of long conductive yams. Thus, the proper yarn length and superbmechanical properties endowed the stretchable conductive yarn with goodweavability. The excellent wearability of the stretchable conductive yarn wasderived from the outermost isolating, hydrophobic, and biocompatible siliconeencapsulation layer. | 2 | Herbal formula of Bushen Jianpi(补肾健脾方)combined with sorafenib inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma growth by promoting cell apoptosis and blocking the cell cycle显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To investigate the efficacy of an herbal formula of Bushen Jianpi(补肾健脾方,BSJP)combined with sorafenib on hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)in vitro and in vivo,and to study the underlying mechanisms of action.METHODS:BSJP,a mixture of 12 raw herbs,was extracted in 70%alcohol/30%water and freeze-dried into a powder.The in vitro effects of BSJP alone,sorafenib alone,and their combination on cell survival,apoptosis,and cell cycle distribution were evaluated in HCC cell lines HCCLM3,HepG2,and SMMC-7721.The expression of B-cell lymphoma-2(Bcl-2),caspase-3,and caspase-9 in HCCLM3 cells was measured using Western blots after drug administration.The in vivo effects of BSJP and sorafenib were evaluated in a tumor surgical resection model using 4-week old male athymic BALB/c nude mice injected with HCCLM3 cells.Immunohistochemical analysis of tumor tissues was performed to evaluate the effects of BSJP alone,sorafenib alone,and their combination on the expression of caspase-3,caspase-9,and Bcl-2.RESULTS:BSJP decreased the survival rate of HCC cell lines,and the combination of BSJP and sorafenib further decreased the survival rate.BSJP significantly promoted cell apoptosis and blocked cell-cycle progression in HCCLM3,HepG2,and SMMC-7721 cells in a dose-dependent manner.Furthermore,the administration of BSJP and sorafenib inhibited the growth of HCCLM3 cell xenografts in nude mice,with no reduction in body weight.In vivo and in vitro experiments showed that BSJP combined with sorafenib could significantly decrease the expression of Bcl-2.CONCLUSION:Our findings suggest that the herbal formula of BSJP is a potential HCC antitumor agent. | ZHOU Zhangjie LIU Xinhua WU Tingting QUE Zujue WU Zhonghua WU Weizhong FU Shujuan ZHANG Shiqiang YANG Yun JIANG Haiyan XIA Xiaoting LV Junqiang DU Boqian LI Yun LU Tao ZHANG Zhihui ZHONG Yi | 2021 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2021,41,2: | 3 |

| 4 | Better prognostic determination of cT3 rectal cancer through measurement of distance to mesorectal fascia:A multicenter study显示文摘Objective:To forward the magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)based distance between the deepest tumor invasion and mesorectal fascia(DMRF),and to explore its prognosis differentiation value in cT3 stage rectal cancer with comparison of cT3 substage.Methods:This was a retrospective,multicenter cohort study including cT3 rectal cancer patients undergoing neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy followed by radical surgery from January 2013 to September 2014.DMRF and cT3 substage were evaluated from baseline MRI.The cutoff of DMRF was determined by disease progression.Multivariate cox regression was used to test the prognostic values of baseline variables.Results:A total of 804 patients were included,of which 226(28.1%)developed progression.A DMRF cutoff of7 mm was chosen.DMRF category,the clock position of the deepest position of tumor invasion(CDTI)and extramural venous invasion(EMVI)were independent predictors for disease progression,and hazard ratios(HRs)were 0.26[95%confidence interval(95%CI),0.13-0.56],1.88(95%CI,1.33-2.65)and 1.57(95%CI,1.13-2.18),respectively.cT3 substage was not a predictor for disease progression.Conclusions:The measurement of DMRF value on baseline MRI can better distinguish cT3 rectal cancer prognosis rather than cT3 substage,and was recommended in clinical evaluation. | Xiaoyan Zhang Qiaoyuan Lu Xiangjie Guo Wuteng Cao Hongmei Zhang Tao Yu Xiaoting Li Zhen Guan Xueping Li Ruijia Sun Yingshi Sun | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2021,33,5: | 1 |
| 5 | Patterns and ecological determinants of woody plant height in eastern Eurasia and its relation to primary productivity显示文摘Aims Plant height is a key functional trait related to aboveground bio-mass,leaf photosynthesis and plant fitness.However,large-scale geographical patterns in community-average plant height(cAPH)of woody species and drivers of these patterns across different life forms remain hotly debated.Moreover,whether cAPH could be used as a predictor of ecosystem primary productivity is unknown.Methods We compiled mature height and distributions of 11422 woody spe-cies in eastern Eurasia,and estimated geographic patterns in cAPH for different taxonomic groups and life forms.then we evaluated the effects of environmental(including current climate and historical climate change since the Last Glacial Maximum(LGM))and evolutionary factors on cAPH.Lastly,we compared the predictive power of cAPH on primary productivity with that of LiDAR-derived canopy-height data from a global survey.Important Findings Geographic patterns of cAPH and their drivers differed among taxonomic groups and life forms.the strongest predictor for cAPH of all woody species combined,angiosperms,all dicots and deciduous dicots was actual evapotranspiration,while temperature was the strongest pre-dictor for cAPH of monocots and tree,shrub and evergreen dicots,and water availability for gymnosperms.Historical climate change since the LGM had only weak effects on cAPH.No phylogenetic signal was detected in family-wise average height,which was also unrelated to the tested environmental factors.Finally,we found a strong correlation between cAPH and ecosystem primary productivity.Primary productivity showed a weaker relationship with cAPH of the tallest species within a grid cell and no relationship with LiDAR-derived canopy height reported in the global survey.Our findings suggest that current climate rather than historical climate change and evolutionary history determine the geographical patterns in cAPH.However,the relative effects of climatic factors representing environmental energy and water availability on spatial variations of cAPH vary among plant life forms.Moreover,our results also suggest that cAPH can be used as a good predictor of ecosystem primary productivity. | Zhiheng Wang Yaoqi Li Xiangyan Su Shengli Tao Xiao Feng Qinggang Wang Xiaoting Xu Yunpeng Liu Sean T.Michaletz Nawal Shrestha Markku Larjavaara Brian J.Enquist | 2019 | Journal of Plant Ecology2019,12,5: | 0 |
| 6 | Preliminary investigation of building damage in Hatay under February 6,2023 Turkey earthquakes显示文摘On February 6,2023,an M_(w)7.8 earthquake hit the south of Kahramanmaras prefecture,Turkey,followed by another M_(w)7.5 earthquake after nine hours in the middle region of the Kahramanmaras prefecture.More than 84,000 buildings collapsed or were severely damaged,and more than 50,000 lives were lost in Turkey and Syria.Some of the authors,as members of Chinese rescue team,entered Antakya,Hatay prefecture,and investigated the damaged buildings.This paper first summarizes the damage patterns of buildings and provides three reasons for the massive number of collapsed buildings;i.e.,the lack of seismic measures for better ductility,site effects such as liquefaction and surface rupture,and pronounced low-frequency components of the ground motions.Next,the seismic responses of two typical buildings are calculated based on the geometric data estimated by visual inspection.The results imply that the resonance of the whole structure and the poorer ductility of key members resulted in the collapse of buildings.Finally,some conclusions are drawn.Note that although a large number of buildings were seriously damaged to collapse,the majority of buildings in the areas of extreme shaking were lightly or moderately damaged,which implies that well designed and constructed buildings were able to survive and protect human lives even in over-design earthquakes. | Wang Tao Chen Jie Zhou Yujiang Wang Xiaoqing Lin Xuchuan Wang Xiaoting Shang Qingxue | 2023 | Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Vibration2023,22,4: | 0 |

| 8 | Identification of Germline Mutations in East‑Asian Young Never‑Smokers with Lung Adenocarcinoma by Whole‑Exome Sequencing显示文摘Recently,an increasing number of young never-smokers are diagnosed with lung cancer.The aim of this study is to investigate the genetic predisposition of lung cancer in these patients and discover candidate pathogenic variants for lung adenocarcinoma in young never-smokers.Peripheral blood was collected from 123 never-smoking east-Asian patients diagnosed with lung adenocarcinoma before the age of 40.Whole-exome sequencing(WES)was conducted on genomic DNA extracted from peripheral blood cells.As a result,3,481 single nucleotide variants were identified.By bioinformatical tools and the published gene list associated with genetic predisposition of cancer,pathogenic variants were detected in ten germline genes:ATR,FANCD2,FANCE,GATA2,HFE,MSH2,PDGFRA,PMS2,SDHB,and WAS.Patients with pathogenic variants were more likely to occur in females(9/10,90.0%)and have stage IV lung adenocarcinoma(4/10,40%).Furthermore,germline muta-tions in 17 genes(ASB18,B3GALT5,CLEC4F,COL6A6,CYP4B1,C6orf132,EXO1,GATA4,HCK,KCP,NPHP4,PIGX,PPIL2,PPP1R3G,RRBP1,SALL4,and TTC28),which occurred in at least two patients,displayed potentially pathogenic effects.Gene ontology analysis further showed that these genes with germline mutations were mainly located in nucleo-plasm and associated with DNA repair-related biological processes.The study provides spectrum of pathogenic variants and functional explanation for genetic predisposition of lung adenocarcinoma in young never-smokers,which sheds a light on prevention and early diagnosis of lung cancer. | Fangqiu Fu Xiaoting Tao Zhonglin Jiang Zhendong Gao Yue Zhao Yuan Li Hong Hu Libing Shen Yihua Sun Yang Zhang | 2023 | Phenomics2023,3,2: | 0 |
