| 2 | Effects of breeding success,age and sex on breeding dispersal of a reintroduced population of the Crested Ibis(Nipponia nippon)in Ningshan County,China显示文摘Background: Breeding dispersal is an important ecological process that affects species' population dynamics and colonization of new suitable areas. Knowledge of the causes and consequences of breeding dispersal is fundamental to our understanding of avian ecology and evolution. Although breeding success for a wild and reintroduced population of the Crested Ibis(Nipponia nippon) has been reported, the relationships between individuals' breeding dispersal and their breeding success, age and sex remain unclear.Methods: Ibises' breeding dispersal distance, which is the distance moved by adults between sites of reproduction, was estimated based on the observations of consecutive breeding sites of marked ibis individuals. From observational and capture-recapture data(n as = 102) over 9 years, individuals' breeding dispersal probability in relation to age, sex, and reproductive success wanalyzed via a generalized linear mixed effect modeling approach.Results: Our results show that 55% males and 51% females keep their previous territories following nesting success. Failed breeding attempts increased dispersal probabilities. Both females and males failed in breeding were more likely to disperse with greater distances than successful birds(females: 825 ± 216 m vs 196 ± 101 m, males: 372 Crested Ibis exhibited a female-biased dispersal pattern that the mean dispersal distance± 164 m vs 210 ± 127 m). of females(435 ± 234 m) was much larger than that of males(294 ± 172 m).Conclusion: Our results are fundamental to predict the patterns of breeding dispersal related to reproductive success under different release sites. | 3 | Can we reestablish a self-sustaining population?A case study on reintroduced Crested Ibis with population viability analysis显示文摘Background:One of the most challenging tasks in wildlife conservation and management is clarifying which and how external and intrinsic factors influence wildlife demography and long-term viability.The wild population of the Crested Ibis(Nipponia nippon)has recovered to approximately 4400,and several reintroduction programs have been carried out in China,Japan and Korea.Population viability analysis on this endangered species has been limited to the wild population,showing that the long-term population growth is restricted by the carrying capacity and inbreeding.However,gaps in knowledge of the viability of the reintroduced population and its drivers in the release environment impede the identification of the most effective population-level priorities for aiding in species recovery.Methods:The field monitoring data were collected from a reintroduced Crested Ibis population in Ningshan,China from 2007 to 2018.An individual-based VORTEX model(Version 10.3.5.0)was used to predict the future viability of the reintroduced population by incorporating adaptive patterns of ibis movement in relation to catastrophe frequency,mortality and sex ratio.Results:The reintroduced population in Ningshan County is unlikely to go extinct in the next 50 years.The popula-tion size was estimated to be 367,and the population genetic diversity was estimated to be 0.97.Sensitivity analysis showed that population size and extinction probability were dependent on the carrying capacity and sex ratio.The carrying capacity is the main factor accounting for the population size and genetic diversity,while the sex ratio is the primary factor responsible for the population growth trend.Conclusions:A viable population of the Crested Ibis can be established according to population viability analysis.Based on our results,conservation management should prioritize a balanced sex ratio,high-quality habitat and low mortality. | Yashuai Zhan Fang Wang Zhenxia Cui Min Li Xia Li Xinping Ye Xiaoping Yu | 2021 | Avian Research2021,12,2: | 2 |

| 6 | Yttrium chloride-modified Au/AC catalysts for acetylene hydrochlorination with improved activity and stability显示文摘The addition of yttrium chloride(YCl_3) to an activated carbon-supported Au catalyst(Au/AC) can markedly promote the catalytic performance of acetylene hydrochlorination to the vinyl chloride monomer(VCM), The structure and physicochemical features of the YCl_3-modified catalysts(Y-Au/AC)were measured by X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, temperature-programmed reduction, C_2 H_2-temperature programmed desorption, and scanning transmission electron microscopy.The presence of YCl_3 was found suppressing the reduction of highly oxidized Au^(δ+)(δ=1,3) to metallic Au^0 dependently and thus retard the agglomeration of Au nanoparticles during the reaction. In addition,the additive of YCl_3 to the Au/AC catalyst greatly inhibits the coke deposition on the catalyst surface. The optimized catalyst with an atomic ratio of Y/Au = 5(1 wt% Au loading weight) yields an 87.8% acetylene conversion and almost 100% selectivity for VCM under the reaction of GHSV(C_2 H_2) = 800 h^(-1) at 180 ℃.The durability test indicates that the 5 Y-1 Au/AC catalyst maintains high catalytic activity for more than2300 h at 30 h^(-1) GHSV(C_2 H_2) and 180 ℃, indicating great promise as a non-mercury catalyst for PVC manufacture. | Jinhuo Ke Yuxin Zhao Yan Yin Kun Chen Xinping Duan Linmin Ye Youzhu Yuan | 2017 | Journal of Rare Earths2017,35,11: | 1 |
| 7 | Efficient low-temperature soot combustion by bimetallic Ag–Cu/SBA-15 catalysts显示文摘In this study, the effects of copper(Cu) additive on the catalytic performance of Ag/SBA-15 in complete soot combustion were investigated. The soot combustion performance of bimetallic Ag–Cu/SBA-15 catalysts was higher than that of monometallic Ag and Cu catalysts. The optimum catalytic performance was acquired with the 5 Ag_1-Cu_(0.1)/SBA-15 catalyst, on which the soot combustion starts at T_(ig)= 225°C with a T_(50)= 285°C. The temperature for 50% of soot combustion was lower than that of conventional Ag-based catalysts to more than 50°C(Aneggi et al., 2009). Physicochemical characterizations of the catalysts indicated that addition of Cu into Ag could form smaller bimetallic Ag–Cu nanolloy particles, downsizing the mean particle size from 3.7 nm in monometallic catalyst to 2.6 nm in bimetallic Ag–Cu catalyst. Further experiments revealed that Ag and Cu species elicited synergistic effects, subsequently increasing the content of surface active oxygen species. | 9 | Linking the past and present to predict the distribution of Asian crested ibis(Nipponia nippon)under global changes显示文摘Understanding how species’ecological niches adapt to environmental changes through time is critical for predicting the effect of future global change on endangered species.Yet few studies have incorporated knowledge of past niche shifting into the assessment of species’future fate in a changing world.In this study,we integrated the ecological niche dynamics into the species distribution modeling of the Asian crested ibis(Nipponia nippon)in East Asia.Specifically,we compared historical and present ecological niches of crested ibis in four-dimensional environmental space based on species occurrence and environmental data.We then employed a multi-temporal ecological niche model to estimate the potential geographical distribution of crested ibis under future climate and land-use changes.Our results show that crested ibis retained similar though not identical ecological niches over time.Compared to the historical baseline range,the current suitable habitat for crested ibis has been reduced by 39.6%.The effects of human activity outweigh those of climate change regarding the distribution of crested ibis.We conclude that the ecological niche of crested ibis was tended to be conservative,and future potentially suitable habitat may encounter northeastward and northwestward shift,and possibly expand by 18.7%referred to the historical range.Thefindings of our study are of clear importance for the conservation and successful reintroduction of crested ibis in East Asia. | Fangyuan YU Yiwen SUN Tiejun WANG Andrew KSKIDMORE Changqing DING Xinping YE | 2022 | Integrative Zoology2022,17,6: | 1 |

| 12 | Synergistic effects of bimetallic Cu-Fe/SiO_2 nanocatalysts in selective hydrogenation of diethyl malonate to 1,3-propanediol显示文摘Cu_x-Fe_y/SiO_2 catalysts were prepared using urea-assisted sol-gel method.The structure and physicochemical properties of the catalysts were characterized using N_2 adsorption-desorption,transmission electron microscopy,H_2-temperature-programmed reduction,powder X-ray diffraction,and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy.Compared with monometallic Cu or Fe catalysts,the bimetallic Cu_x-Fe_y/SiO_2 catalysts exhibited enhanced catalytic performance for the selective hydrogenation of diethyl malonate to1,3-propanediol.The bimetallic catalyst with an optimal Cu/Fe atomic ratio of 2 exhibited the highest activity,which yielded 96.3%conversion to diethyl malonate and 93.3%selectivity to 1,3-propanediol under the optimal reaction conditions.Characterization results revealed that interactions between Cu and Fe contributed to the improvement of diethyl malonate conversion and selectivity to 1,3-propanediol.The X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy results revealed that the addition of appropriate amount of Fe species enhanced the reduction of Cu^(2+) species,thereby increasing the Cu° species on the surface of bimetallic catalyst.It led to a better chemisorption capacity of hydrogen and further promoted of the activation of hydrogen molecule.The ethyl acetate temperature-programmed desorption results indicated that the FeO_x species provided the additional adsorption sites for substrate molecules,and they activated the C=O bond.The improved catalytic performance of bimetallic Cu_x-Fe_y/SiO_2 catalyst was mainly attributed to the synergistic effect between Cu° and FeO_x species. | Le He Xiaoxiao Gong Linmin Ye Xinping Duan Youzhu Yuan | 2016 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2016,25,6: | 1 |

| 19 | Cloning and Sequence Analysis of SLC11A1 Gene Promoter of Three Cattle Breeds in Xinjiang显示文摘[Objective]Solute carrier family 11 member 1(SLC11A1)is a major natural resistance candidate gene,which contributes to defense mechanisms of a variety of intracellular bacteria.The SLC11A1 gene promoter sequence of Xinjiang Brown Cattle,Holstein and Simmental were cloned in the test,and promoter sequence difference was analyzed,in order to provide genetic marker-assisted selection for disease-resistant breeding of dairy cattle.[Method]The Genomic DNA was extracted from whole blood collected from three cattle breeds in Xinjiang,and the 5’ flanking region of SLC11A1 gene was amplified by PCR and sequenced.The sequence was analyzed by bioinformatics software CpGplot,RepeatMasker,TFSEARCH,WWW Signal Scan and dual luciferase assay system.[Result]The SLC11A1 gene promoter sequence of 1 463 bp was confirmed,which had promoter activity.No CpG islands were found on promoter sequence.There were four different sites in SLC11A1 gene promoter sequences between Angus from America and three cattle breeds in Xinjiang.Sequence analysis revealed 12 transcription factor binding sites including Sp1,NF1,RelA-p65,GKLF,and CPBP.In promoter region there was an enhancer region(-734- -740)and two short scattered repetitive elements BOV-tA2,MIR3,as well as repeated DNA element Charlie8.[Conclusion]The SLC11A1 gene promoter sequences of three breeds were obtained,which were different from that of Angus.The paper provided a theoretical basis for further studying the influence of SLC11A1 gene polymorphisms on resistance against intracellular bacteria infection. | Ma Xiaojing Yi Xinping Gu Wenxi Ye Feng Zhong Qi | 2016 | Animal Husbandry and Feed Science2016,8,3: | 0 |
