Chemical composition and quantitative relationship between meteorological condition and fine particles in Beijing显示文摘The recent year’s monitor results of Beijing indicated that the pollution level of fine particles PM 2.5 showed an increasing trend. To understand pollution characteristics of PM 2.5 and its relationship with the meteorological conditions in Beijing, a one-year monitoring of PM 2.5 mass concentration and correspondent meteorological parameters was performed in Beijing in 2001. The PM 2.5 levels in Beijing were very high, the annual average PM 2.5 concentration in 2001 was 7 times of the National Ambient Air Quality Standards proposed by US EPA. The major chemical compositions were organics, sulfate, crustals and nitrate. It was found that the mass concentrations of PM 2.5 were influenced by meteorological conditions. The correlation between the mass concentrations of PM 2.5 and the relative humidity was found. And the correlation became closer at higher relative humidity. And the mass concentrations of PM 2.5 were negtive-correlated to wind speeds, but the correlation between the mass concentration of PM 2.5 and wind speed was not good at stronger wind.WANGJing-li ZHANGYuan-hang SHAOMin LiuXu-lin ZENGLi-min CHENGCong-lan XUXiao-feng 2004Journal of Environmental Sciences2004,16,5:10
Internet of Things to network smart devices for ecosystem monitoring显示文摘Smart, real-time, low-cost, and distributed ecosystem monitoring is essential for understanding and managing rapidly changing ecosystems. However, new techniques in the big data era have rarely been introduced into operational ecosystem monitoring, particularly for fragile ecosystems in remote areas. We introduce the Internet of Things(IoT) techniques to establish a prototype ecosystem monitoring system by developing innovative smart devices and using IoT technologies for ecosystem monitoring in isolated environments. The developed smart devices include four categories: large-scale and nonintrusive instruments to measure evapotranspiration and soil moisture, in situ observing systems for CO2 and d13 C associated with soil respiration, portable and distributed devices for monitoring vegetation variables, and Bi-CMOS cameras and pressure trigger sensors for terrestrial vertebrate monitoring. These new devices outperform conventional devices and are connected to each other via wireless communication networks. The breakthroughs in the ecosystem monitoring IoT include new data loggers and longdistance wireless sensor network technology that supports the rapid transmission of data from devices to wireless networks. The applicability of this ecosystem monitoring IoT is verified in three fragile ecosystems, including a karst rocky desertification area, the National Park for Amur Tigers, and the oasis-desert ecotone in China. By integrating these devices and technologies with an ecosystem monitoring information system, a seamless data acquisition, transmission, processing, and application IoT is created. The establishment of this ecosystem monitoring IoT will serve as a new paradigm for ecosystem monitoring and therefore provide a platform for ecosystem management and decision making in the era of big data.Xin Li Ning Zhao Rui Jin Shaomin Liu Xiaomin Sun Xuefa Wen Dongxiu Wu Yan Zhou Jianwen Guo Shiping Chen Ziwei Xu Mingguo Ma Tianming Wang Yonghua Qu Xinwei Wang Fangming Wu Yuke Zhou 2019Science Bulletin2019,64,17:10
A dual-pass data assimilation scheme for estimating surface fluxes with FY3A-VIRR land surface temperature显示文摘In this work, a dual-pass data assimilation scheme is developed to improve predictions of surface flux. Pass 1 of the dual-pass data assimilation scheme optimizes the model vegetation parameters at the weekly temporal scale, and Pass 2 optimizes the soil moisture at the daily temporal scale. Based on ensemble Kalman filter(EnKF), the land surface temperature(LST) data derived from the new generation of Chinese meteorology satellite(FY3A-VIRR) are assimilated into common land model(CoLM) for the first time. Six sites, Daman, Guantao, Arou, BJ, Miyun and Jiyuan, are selected for the data assimilation experiments and include different climatological conditions. The results are compared with those from a dataset generated by a multi-scale surface flux observation system that includes an automatic weather station(AWS), eddy covariance(EC) and large aperture scintillometer(LAS). The results indicate that the dual-pass data assimilation scheme is able to reduce model uncertainties and improve predictions of surface flux with the assimilation of FY3A-VIRR LST data.XU TongRen LIU ShaoMin XU ZiWei LIANG ShunLin XU Lu 2015Science China Earth Sciences2015,58,2:9

Target delineation and dose prescription of adaptive replanning intensity-modulated radiotherapy for nasopharyngeal carcinoma显示文摘Dear Editor,Intensity-modulated radiotherapy(IMRT)has a distinct advantage of high conformity and is an appropriate tech-nique for treating nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC).Pre-vious studies have demonstrated that anatomical changes in the external contour, shape, and location of the target and critical structures are significant and result in dosi-metric changes[1,2].Patients’quality of life and clini-cal outcomes might be improved by IMRT replanning[3].Therefore,replanning strategies should be consid-ered instead of single-planning strategies throughout the entire course of radiotherapy. However, there are sub-stantial controversies on(1)the appropriate time for tar-get redelineation,(2)how to modify the target volumes,and(3)how to evaluate the modified plans. The present study provides a new perspective in replanning with regard to these three aspects.Dehuan Xie Wanqin Cheng Shaowen Lv Rui Zhong Lei Wang Jiang Hu Mingli Wang Shaomin Huang Yong Su Yunfei Xia 2019Cancer Communications2019,39,1:7
ILF3 is a substrate of SPOP for regulating serine biosynthesis in colorectal cancer显示文摘The Serine-Glycien-One-Carbon(SGOC)pathway is pivotal in multiple anabolic processes.Expression levels of SGOC genes are deregulated under tumoeigenic condltions, suggesting panicipation of oncogenes in deregulating the SGOC biosynthetic pathway. However, the underlying mechanism remains elusive. Here,we identifed that Interleukin enfiarccer-binding factor 3(ILF3)is overexpressed in primary CRC patient specimens and correlates with poor progroosis.ILF3 is critical in regulating the SGOC pathway by directly regulating the mRNA stability of SGOC genes, thereby increasing SGOC genes expression and facilitating tumor growth.Mehhanktic studies showed that the EGF-MIEK-ERK pathway nnediates ILF3 phosphorylation, which hin ders E3 ligase speckle-type POZ protein(SPOP)-mediated poly-ubiquitination and degradation of ILF3.Sign iftca ntly, combination of SGOC inhibitor and the anti-EGFR monoclonal antibody cetuximab can hinder the growth of patient-derived xenografts that sustain high ERK-ILF3 levels.Taken together, deregutation of ILF3 via the EGF-ERK signaling plays an important role in systemic serine metabolic reprogramming and confers a predilection toward CRC development. Our findings indicate that clinical evaluation of SCOC inhibitor is warranted for CRC patients with ILF3 overexpression.Kai Li Jian-lin Wu Baifu Qin Zongmin Fan Qin Tang Weisi Lu Haipeng Zhang Fan Xing Manqi Meng Shaomin Zou Wenxia Wei Honglei Chen Jian Cai Huaiming Wang Hui Zhang Jiayue Cai Ling Fang Xiqing Bian Chuangqi Chen Ping Lan Bart Ghesquiere Lekun Fang Mong-Hong Lee 2020Cell Research2020,30,2:6
Test of the Louis scheme and COARE algorithm for friction velocity in different wind-sea/swell regimes显示文摘The Louis scheme and the COARE algorithm (version 3.0) are tested against eddy covariance and inertial dissipation methods for friction velocity estimates in different wind-sea/swell regimes. Atmospheric forcing data, tabulated by Donelan et al. (1997.J Phys Oceanog, 27:2 087~2 099), were collected from a mast on the foredeck ofa SWATH (small water-plane area, twin hull) ship in deep sea off the State of Virginia during the surface wave dynamics experiment. These data are representative of low to moderate wind regimes. The aerodynamic roughness length is determined by using the Charnock relationship. The intercomparison shows that the Louis scheme and the COARE algorithm underestimate the friction velocity by 6% and 3% respectively under pure wind sea conditions, 15% and 13% respectively under cross swell conditions, and 21% and 17% respectively under counter swell conditions. The analysis shows that these underestimations were caused by the method chosen to determine the aerodynamic roughness length because it significantly underestimates the aerodynamic roughness length. It is especially true under the cross swell and counter swell conditions.GAO Zhiqiu HU Wen LIU Shaomin 2005Acta Oceanologica Sinica2005,24,4:6
Preparation of Ce3+doped Bi2O3 hollow needle-shape with enhanced visible-light photocatalytic activity显示文摘Ce3+ doped Bi2O3 hollow needle-shape with enhanced visible-light photocatalytic activity was successfully prepared via the method of chemical precipitation using Bi(NO3)·5H2O and Ce(NO3)3·6H2O as the source of bismuth and cerium, HNO3 as solvent and NaOH as precipitants, respectively and after calcination at 500 ℃ for 2 h. The morphology and elemental composition, crystal form, purity and specific surface area of the hollow needle Bi2O3 were characterized by SEM-EDS, XRD, BET and FT-IR. The photocatalytic properties of the as-obtained samples were measured by UV-vis diffuse reflection spectroscopy and photochemical reactor. As a result, the obtained Bi2O3 hollow needle-shape doped with 5 wt% Ce shows good morphology, α-phase, stronger absorbent for visible light and good photocatalytic property. Under the simulated visible light of 300 W, the photodegradation rate of tetracycline over HNBCe can reach to 89.1%,which is higher than that of commercial Bi2O3 nanoparticles and Bi2O3 hollow needle-shape.Wenwen Zhang Shaomin Gao Donghui Chen 2019Journal of Rare Earths2019,37,7:6
Preparation of Ag@AgCl-doped TiO_2/sepiolite and its photocatalytic mechanism under visible light显示文摘A cube-like Ag@Ag Cl-doped TiO_2/sepiolite(denoted Ag@Ag Cl–TiO_2/sepiolite) was successfully synthesized via a novel method. X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersion X-ray fluorescence, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and diffuse reflectance ultraviolet–visible spectroscopy were performed to determine the structure and physicochemical properties of Ag@Ag Cl–TiO_2/sepiolite. SEM micrographs revealed that Ag@Ag Cl nanoparticles and TiO_2 film are well deposited on the surface of tube-like sepiolite. As a result, Ag@Ag Cl–TiO_2/sepiolite exhibits a red shift relative to TiO_2/sepiolite. Photocatalytic experiments demonstrated that the dosage of catalysts plays an important role during photocatalysis. The photoelectrochemical activities of Ag@Ag Cl–TiO_2/sepiolite and TiO_2/sepiolite were also investigated. Photocurrent responses confirmed that the ability of Ag@Ag Cl–TiO_2/sepiolite to separate photo-generated electron–hole pairs is stronger than that of TiO_2/sepiolite. Methylene Blue degradation is also improved under alkaline conditions and visible light irradiation because more UOH is produced by visible light excitation. This excellent catalytic ability is mainly attributed to the formed Ag nanoparticles and the Schottky barrier at the Ag/TiO_2 interface. Active species analysis indicated that UO2-and h+are implicated as active species in photocatalysis. Therefore, catalysts are excited to produce abundant electron–hole pairs after they absorb photons in photocatalysis.Shaomin Liu Dinglong Zhu Jinglin Zhu Qing Yang Huijun Wu 2017Journal of Environmental Sciences2017,29,10:5
Pore Characteristics of the Fine-Grained Tight Reservoirs in the Yabulai Basin, Northwestern China显示文摘This work investigated the pore structure characteristics and reservoir features of the finegrained tight reservoirs in the lower member of the Xinhe Formation(J_2 x_1) in the Xiaohu subsag,Yabulai Basin based on core samples through various techniques. Interbedded silt/fine sandstones and mudstones are developed in the study area. Scanning electron microscopy(SEM) images were used to delineate different types of pores, including primary intergranular pores, secondary intergranular and intragranular pores, organic pores and fractures. The pore types were distinguished by pore size, pore area, location and formation process. The pore radii of the fine-grained rocks range from 1 nm to 1.55μm, mainly concentrated between 5 and 300 nm by low pressure N_2 adsorption and MICP analyses. The pore structure parameters of pore throat size and pore throat sorting coefficient are both positively correlated with porosity, while pore throat sorting coefficient has a negative correlation with permeability. The pore structures of the studied samples are much related to the mineral type and content and grain size, followed by TOC content. In these rocks with relatively low TOC and low maturity, the rigid minerals protect pores with pressure shadow from collapse, and dissolution-related pores contribute a lot to inorganic porosity. In contrast, these rocks with abundant TOC contain a large number of organic pores. The permeability of the fine-grained tight reservoir is mainly dominated by larger pore throats, while a large number of small pores(mostly <0.1 μm) contribute considerably to porosity. These results have deepened our understanding of the interbedded fine-grained tight reservoirs and can be applicable to fine-grained reservoirs in a similar setting.ZHANG Shaomin CAO Yingchang Jens JAHREN ZHU Rukai MAO Zhiguo XI Kelai Kashif MUHAMMAD Helge HELLEVANG 2018Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2018,92,3:5
Plants water status of the shelterbelt along the Tarim Desert Highway显示文摘The plant water consumption and irrigation management are the core issue of the sustainable growing of the Tarim Desert Highway shelterbelt in the hyperaride Taklimakan Desert. The stem sap flow, water status and water consumption of shelterbelt plants were studied, then, the issue of the water save in the process of shelterbelt irrigation management was discussed by measuring the sap flow of shelterbelt plants with a stem sap flow gauge. The stem sap flow exhibited a distinct diurnal course with maximum values between 10:00 and 15:00, and minimum values between 00:00 and 03:00. Generally, sap flow was lower at night than during the day. The daily average stem sap flow of Calligonum arborescens, Tamarix ramosissima and Haloxylon ammodendron (diameter 1.9―2.0 cm) was 67.2 g·h-1, 77.05 g·h-1 and 61.54 g·h-1 respectively. The sap flow was influenced by environmental factors, and the solar radiation, wind velocity, temperature and relative humidity were significantly correlative with plant stem sap flow. The annual water consumption of 8-a Calligonum arborescens, Tamarix ramosissima and Haloxylon ammodendron was 1937.80 kg, 1253.39 kg and 1026.96 kg, while daily average water consumption was 9.69 kg, 6.27 kg and 5.13 kg respectively. Under drip irrigation, soil moisture content of the shelterbelt in different months indicated no obvious fluctuation, and soil moisture was adequate. The predawn and midday plant water potential reflected that the plant water status was in good conditions. There is still some water-saving space if optimizing the present water management, integrating water resources conservation and protection performance.XU Hao ZHANG XiMing YAN HaiLong LIANG ShaoMin SHAN LiShan 2008Chinese Science Bulletin2008,53,S2:5
CCR10 and its ligands in regulation of epithelial immunity and diseases显示文摘Epithelial tissues covering the external and internal surface of a body are constantly under physical, chemical or biological assaults. To protect the epithelial tissues and maintain their homeostasis, multiple layers of immune defense mechanisms are required.Besides the epithelial tissue-resident immune cells that provide the first line of defense, circulating immune cells are also recruited into the local tissues in response to challenges.Chemokines and chemokine receptors regulate tissue-specific migration, maintenance and functions of immune cells.Among them, chemokine receptor CCR10 and its ligands chemokines CCL27 and CCL28 are uniquely involved in the epithelial immunity.CCL27 is expressed predominantly in the skin by keratinocytes while CCL28 is expressed by epithelial cells of various mucosal tissues.CCR10 is expressed by various subsets of innate-like T cells that are programmed to localize to the skin during their developmental processes in the thymus.Circulating T cells might be imprinted by skin-associated antigen-presenting cells to express CCR10 for their recruitment to the skin during the local immune response. On the other hand,IgA antibody-producing B cells generated in mucosa-associated lymphoid tissues express CCR10 for their migration and maintenance at mucosal sites.Increasing evidence also found that CCR10/ligands are involved in regulation of other immune cells in epithelial immunity and are frequently exploited by epithelium-localizing or-originated cancer cells for their survival, proliferation and evasion from immune surveillance.Herein,we review current knowledge on roles of CCR10/ligands in regulation of epithelial immunity and diseases and speculate on related important questions worth further investigation.Na Xiong Yaoyao Fu Shaomin Hu Mingcan Xia Jie Yang 2012Protein & Cell2012,3,8:5
Development of an invasive brain machine interface with a monkey model显示文摘Brain-machine interfaces (BMIs) translate neural activities of the brain into specific instructions that can be carried out by external devices. BMIs have the potential to restore or augment motor functions of paralyzed patients suffering from spinal cord damage. The neural activities have been used to predict the 2D or 3D movement trajectory of monkey's arm or hand in many studies. However, there are few studies on decoding the wrist movement from neural activities in center-out paradigm. The present study developed an invasive BMI system with a monkey model using a 10×10-microelectrode array in the primary motor cortex. The monkey was trained to perform a two-dimensional forelimb wrist movement paradigm where neural activities and movement signals were simultaneous recorded. Results showed that neuronal firing rates highly correlated with forelimb wrist movement; > 70% (105/149) neurons exhibited specific firing changes during movement and > 36% (54/149) neurons were used to discriminate directional pairs. The neuronal firing rates were also used to predict the wrist moving directions and continuous trajectories of the forelimb wrist. The four directions could be classified with 96% accuracy using a support vector machine, and the correlation coefficients of trajectory prediction using a general regression neural network were above 0.8 for both horizontal and vertical directions. Results showed that this BMI system could predict monkey wrist movements in high accuracy through the use of neuronal firing information.ZHANG QiaoSheng ZHANG ShaoMin HAO YaoYao ZHANG HuaiJian ZHU JunMing ZHAO Ting ZHANG JianMin WANG YiWen ZHENG XiaoXiang CHEN WeiDong 2012Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,16:4
Analysis of petrophysical cutoffs of reservoir intervals with production capacity and with accumulation capacity in clastic reservoirs显示文摘Methodologies have been developed for calculating cutoffs of reservoir intervals with production capacity(RIPC) and reservoir intervals with accumulation capacity(RIAC) according to the types of pore throat structures and dynamic force by using data from petrophysical analysis, production tests and mercury injection. The data are from clastic reservoirs in the third member(Es3) and the fourth member(Es4) of the Shahejie Formation in the Shengtuo area on the North Slope of the Dongying Sag, Jiyang Depression, China. The method of calculating cutoffs of RIPC is summarized as follows: 1) determination of permeability cutoffs of RIPC; 2) classification of types of pore-throat structures according to mercury injection data and then relating porosity to permeability and determining the relationship between porosity and permeability according to each type of pore-throat structure; and 3) calculating porosity cutoffs of RIPC using established correlation between porosity and permeability according to the type of pore throat structure. The method of calculating cutoffs of RIAC includes: 1) establishing a functional relationship between oil-water interfacial tension and formation temperature; 2) calculating limiting values of maximum connected pore-throat radii according to formation temperature and dynamic forces of each reservoir interval; 3) correlating permeability with maximum connected pore-throat radius and then obtaining permeability cutoffs of RIAC; and 4) calculating porosity cutoffs on the basis of permeability cutoffs according to specific correlations, suitable for the type of porethroat structure. The results of this study show that porosity and permeability cutoffs of clastic reservoirs decrease with depth. For a fixed permeability cutoff, the porosity cutoff of RIPC varies because the type of pore throat is different. At a fixed temperature, porosity and permeability cutoffs of RIAC decrease as dynamic force increases. For a fixed permeability cutoff of effective hydrocarbon accumulation, the porosity cutoff also varies with different types of pore throat.Wang Yanzhong Cao Yingchang Song Guoqi Song Ling Yang Tian Zhang Shaomin 2014Petroleum Science2014,11,2:4
Quantitative relationship between production and removal of OH and HO_2 radicals in urban atmosphere显示文摘Atmospheric oxidizing capacity is the essen- tial feature of urban and regional air. And OH and HO2 radicals are the key species indicating atmospheric oxidizing capacity. Using Guangzhou City as a case, this work has conducted field measurements of photochemistry relevant pollutants including O3, NOx, VOCs, H2O2, HNO2 and CO, SO2. The concentrations of OH radical are measured simul- taneously by impregnated filter trapping and HPLC (IFT- HPLC) method. The factors influencing OH levels are as- sessed. Based on understanding of OH and HO2 air chemis- try, the production and removal rates of these 2 radicals are calculated. The results show that the budget of OH and HO2 can generally be closed, the radical transformation between OH and HO2 dominates the sources and sinks of them, and also the photolysis of HNO2 and HCHO is the significant source of OH and HO2 respectively.SHAOMin RENXinrong WANGHuixiang ZENGLimin ZHANGYuanhang TANGXiaoyan 2004Chinese Science Bulletin2004,49,21:4
Decoding grasp movement from monkey premotor cortex for real-time prosthetic hand control显示文摘Brain machine interfaces (BMIs) have demonstrated lots of successful arm-related reach decoding in past decades, which provide a new hope for restoring the lost motor functions for the disabled. On the other hand, the more sophisticated hand grasp movement, which is more fundamental and crucial for daily life, was less referred. Current state of arts has specified some grasp related brain areas and offline decoding results; however, online decoding grasp movement and real-time neuroprosthetic control have not been systematically investigated. In this study, we obtained neural data from the dorsal premotor cortex (PMd) when monkey reaching and grasping one of four differently shaped objects following visual cues. The four grasp gesture types with an additional resting state were classified asynchronously using a fuzzy k-nearest neighbor model, and an artificial hand was controlled online using a shared control strategy. The results showed that most of the neurons in PMd are tuned by reach and grasp movement, us- ing which we get a high average offline decoding accuracy of 97.1%. In the online demonstration, the instantaneous status of monkey grasping could be extracted successfully to control the artificial hand, with an event-wise accuracy of 85.1%. Overall, our results inspect the neural firing along the time course of grasp and for the first time enables asynchronous neural control of a prosthetic hand, which underline a feasible hand neural prosthesis in BMIs.HAO YaoYao ZHANG QiaoSheng ZHANG ShaoMin ZHAO Ting WANG YiWen CHEN WeiDong ZHENG XiaoXiang 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,20:4
