| 1 | Changes in Global Cloud Cover Based on Remote Sensing Data from 2003 to 2012显示文摘As is well known,clouds impact the radiative budget,climate change,hydrological processes,and the global carbon,nitrogen and sulfur cycles.To understand the wide-ranging effects of clouds,it is necessary to assess changes in cloud cover at high spatial and temporal resolution.In this study,we calculate global cloud cover during the day and at night using cloud products estimated from Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer(MODIS)data.Results indicate that the global mean cloud cover from 2003 to 2012 was 66%.Moreover,global cloud cover increased over this recent decade.Specifically,cloud cover over land areas(especially North America,Antarctica,and Europe)decreased(slope=–0.001,R^2=0.5254),whereas cloud cover over ocean areas(especially the Indian and Pacific Oceans)increased(slope=0.0011,R^2=0.4955).Cloud cover is relatively high between the latitudes of 36°S and 68°S compared to other regions,and cloud cover is lowest over Oceania and Antarctica.The highest rates of increase occurred over Southeast Asia and Oceania,whereas the highest rates of decrease occurred over Antarctica and North America.The global distribution of cloud cover regulates global temperature change,and the trends of these two variables over the 10-year period examined in this study(2003–2012)oppose one another in some regions.These findings are very important for studies of global climate change. | MAO Kebiao YUAN Zijin ZUO Zhiyuan XU Tongren SHEN Xinyi GAO Chunyu | 2019 | Chinese Geographical Science2019,29,2: | 5 |
| 2 | Retrieval of Land-surface Temperature from AMSR2 Data Using a Deep Dynamic Learning Neural Network显示文摘It is more difficult to retrieve land surface temperature(LST) from passive microwave remote sensing data than from thermal remote sensing data, because the emissivities in the passive microwave band can change more easily than those in the thermal infrared band. Thus, it is very difficult to build a stable relationship. Passive microwave band emissivities are greatly influenced by the soil moisture, which varies with time. This makes it difficult to develop a general physical algorithm. This paper proposes a method to utilize multiple-satellite, sensors and resolution coupled with a deep dynamic learning neural network to retrieve the land surface temperature from images acquired by the Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer 2(AMSR2), a sensor that is similar to the Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer Earth Observing System(AMSR-E). The AMSR-E and MODIS sensors are located aboard the Aqua satellite. The MODIS LST product is used as the ground truth data to overcome the difficulties in obtaining large scale land surface temperature data. The mean and standard deviation of the retrieval error are approximately 1.4° and 1.9° when five frequencies(ten channels, 10.7, 18.7, 23.8, 36.5, 89 V/H GHz) are used. This method can effectively eliminate the influences of the soil moisture, roughness, atmosphere and various other factors. An analysis of the application of this method to the retrieval of land surface temperature from AMSR2 data indicates that the method is feasible. | 5 | Deciphering transcriptome alterations in bone marrow hematopoiesis at single-cell resolution in immune thrombocytopenia显示文摘Immune thrombocytopenia(ITP)is an autoimmune disorder,in which megakaryocyte dysfunction caused by an autoimmune reaction can lead to thrombocytopenia,although the underlying mechanisms remain unclear.Here,we performed single-cell transcriptome profiling of bone marrow CD34+hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells(HSPCs)to determine defects in megakaryopoiesis in ITP.Gene expression,cell-cell interactions,and transcriptional regulatory networks varied in HSPCs of ITP,particularly in immune cell progenitors.Differentially expressed gene(DEG)analysis indicated that there was an impaired megakaryopoiesis of ITP.Flow cytometry confirmed that the number of CD9+and HES1+cells from Lin−CD34+CD45RA−HSPCs decreased in ITP.Liquid culture assays demonstrated that CD9+Lin−CD34+CD45RA−HSPCs tended to differentiate into megakaryocytes;however,this tendency was not observed in ITP patients and more erythrocytes were produced.The percentage of megakaryocytes differentiated from CD9+Lin−CD34+CD45RA−HSPCs was 3-fold higher than that of the CD9−counterparts from healthy controls(HCs),whereas,in ITP patients,the percentage decreased to only 1/4th of that in the HCs and was comparable to that from the CD9−HSPCs.Additionally,when co-cultured with pre-B cells from ITP patients,the differentiation of CD9+Lin−CD34+CD45RA−HSPCs toward the megakaryopoietic lineage was impaired.Further analysis revealed that megakaryocytic progenitors(MkP)can be divided into seven subclusters with different gene expression patterns and functions.The ITP-associated DEGs were MkP subtype-specific,with most DEGs concentrated in the subcluster possessing dual functions of immunomodulation and platelet generation.This study comprehensively dissects defective hematopoiesis and provides novel insights regarding the pathogenesis of ITP. | Yan Liu Xinyi Zuo Peng Chen Xiang Hu Zi Sheng Anli Liu Qiang Liu Shaoqiu Leng Xiaoyu Zhang Xin Li Limei Wang Qi Feng Chaoyang Li Ming Hou Chong Chu Shihui Ma Shuwen Wang Jun Peng | 2022 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2022,7,11: | 0 |
| 6 | Mitochondrial deoxyguanosine kinase is required for female fertility in mice显示文摘Mitochondrial homeostasis plays a pivotal role in oocyte maturation and embryonic development.Deoxyguanosine kinase(DGUOK)is a nucleoside kinase that salvages purine nucleosides in mitochondria and is critical for mitochondrial DNA replication and homeostasis in non-proliferating cells.Dguok loss-of-function mutations and deletions lead to hepatocerebral mitochondrial DNA deletion syndrome.However,its potential role in reproduction remains largely unknown.In this study,we find that Dguok knockout results in female infertility.Mechanistically,DGUOK deficiency hinders ovarian development and oocyte maturation.Moreover,DGUOK deficiency in oocytes causes a significant reduction in mitochondrial DNA copy number and abnormal mitochondrial dynamics and impairs germinal vesicle breakdown.Only few DGUOK-deficient oocytes can extrude their first polar body during in vitro maturation,and these oocytes exhibit irregular chromosome arrangements and different spindle lengths.In addition,DGUOK deficiency elevates reactive oxygen species levels and accelerates oocyte apoptosis.Our findings reveal novel physiological roles for the mitochondrial nucleoside salvage pathway in oocyte maturation and implicate DGUOK as a potential marker for the diagnosis of female infertility. | Yake Gao Rui Dong Jiacong Yan Huicheng Chen Lei Sang Xinyi Yao Die Fan Xin Wang Xiaoyuan Zuo Xu Zhang Shengyu Yang Ze Wu Jianwei Sun | 2024 | Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2024,56,3: | 0 |
