1A facile approach to fabricating graphene/waterborne epoxy coatings with dual functionalities of barrier and corrosion inhibitor显示文摘A facile and environmentally-friendly method is developed to prepare graphene/waterborne epoxy(WEP)composite coatings.The graphene nanosheets are produced with electrochemical-exfoliation in the solution containing surfactants,cetyl trimethyl ammonium bromide(CTAB)and sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS).The nanosheets containing solution thus formed are subjected to a quick dialysis and then directly used as a diluent for WEP without any further treatment.This preparation method overcomes the commonly identified problems of aggregations and‘corrosion promotion’effect associated with graphene,and increases the impedance of the composite coatings by more than two orders of magnitude.The analysis of anticorrosion performance suggested that the presence of surfactants not only improves the dispersibility of graphene nanosheets but also endows the composite coatings with both barrier and corrosion inhibition capabilities.The strategy reported herein may pave the path to the large-scale production of graphene anticorrosion coatings.Suyun Liu Xuewan Wang Qi Yin Xiongzhi Xiang Xian-Zhu Fu Xian-Zong Wang Jing-Li Luo 2022Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,17:2
2Anti-tarnish property of sterling silver alloy with yttrium addition显示文摘It has been demonstrated that sterling silver alloy is a widely used material in the jewelry industry. The anti-tarnish property is one of the most important properties of this material. In this work, the effect of yttrium on the corrosion resistance, and tarnish resistance properties of sterling silver alloy were investigated with the use of CIE-LAB uniform color scale, which gained acceptance as an effective way to assess color. To better understand the mechanism of the effect, the distribution of yttrium in the alloy was analyzed by mainly segregating in gaps among dendrite crystals and grain boundary. An increase in yttrium content in sterling silver alloy resulted in a decrease in the amount of eutectic structure. The tarnish and corrosion resistance of sterling silver were improved with yttrium content increase.
