1Biosorption mechanisms involved in immobilization of soil Pb by Bacillus subtilis DBM in a multi-metal-contaminated soil显示文摘Mechanisms of soil Pb immobilization by Bacillus subtilis DBM, a bacterial strain isolated from a heavy-metal-contaminated soil, were investigated. Adsorption and desorption experiments with living bacterial cells as well as dead cells revealed that both extracellular adsorption and intracellular accumulation were involved in the Pb2+removal from the liquid phase. Of the sequestered Pb(II), 8.5% was held by physical entrapment within the cell wall, 43.3% was held by ion-exchange, 9.7% was complexed with cell surface functional groups or precipitated on the cell surface, and 38.5% was intracellularly accumulated.Complexation of Pb2+with carboxyl, hydroxyl, carbonyl, amido, and phosphate groups was demonstrated by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopic analysis. Precipitates of Pb5(PO4)3OH, Pb5(PO4)3Cl and Pb10(PO4)6(OH)2that formed on the cell surface during the biosorption process were identified by X-ray diffraction analysis. Transmission electron microscopy–energy dispersive spectroscopic analysis confirmed the presence of the Pb(II)precipitates and that Pb(II) could be sequestered both extracellularly and intracellularly.Incubation with B. subtilis DBM significantly decreased the amount of the weak-acid-soluble Pb fraction in a heavy-metal-contaminated soil, resulting in a reduction in Pb bioavailability, but increased the amount of its organic-matter-bound fraction by 71%. 2Nitrous oxide production during nitrogen removal from domestic wastewater in lab-scale sequencing batch reactor显示文摘The production of N2O during nitrogen removal from real domestic wastewater was investigated in a lab-scale aerobic-anoxic sequencing batch reactor with a working volume of 14 L. The results showed that the total N2O-N production reached higher than 1.87 mg/L, and up to 4% of removed nitrogen was converted into N2O. In addition, N2O led to a much higher greenhouse effect than CO2 during aerobic reaction phase, this proved that N2O production could not be neglected. The N2O-N production during nitrification was 1.85 mg/L, whereas, during denitrification, no N2O was produced, nitrification was the main source of N2O production during nitrogen removal. Furthermore, during denitrification, the dissolved N2O at the end of aeration was found to be further reduced to N2. 3The effect of dissolved oxygen concentration on long-term stability of partial nitrification process显示文摘Dissolved oxygen(DO)concentration is regarded as one of the crucial factors to influence partial nitrification process.However,achieving and keeping stable partial nitrification under different DO concentrations were widely reported.The mechanism of DO concentration influencing partial nitrification is still unclear.Therefore,in this study two same sequencing batch reactors(SBRs)cultivated same seeding sludge were built up with realtime control strategy.Different DO concentrations were controlled in SBRs to explore the effect of DO concentration on the long-term stability of partial nitrification process at room temperature.It was discovered that ammonium oxidation rate(AOR)was inhibited when DO concentration decreased from 2.5 to 0.5 mg/L.The abundance of Nitrospira increased from 1011.5 to 1013.7 copies/g DNA,and its relative percentage increased from 0.056%to 3.2%during 190 operational cycles,causing partial nitrification gradually turning into complete nitrification process.However,when DO was 2.5 mg/L the abundance of Nitrospira was stable and AOB was always kept at 1010.7 copies/g DNA.High AOR was maintained,and stable partial nitrification process was kept.Ammonia oxidizing bacteria(AOB)activity was significantly higher than nitrite oxidizing bacteria(NOB)activity at DO of 2.5 mg/L,which was crucial to maintain excellent nitrite accumulation performance.Bin Cui Qing Yang Xiuhong Liu Siting Huang Yubing Yang Zhibin Liu 2020Journal of Environmental Sciences2020,32,4:12
4Major advances in studies of the physical geography and living environment of China during the past 70 years and future prospects显示文摘The natural environment provides material essentials for human survival and development. The characteristics,processes, regional differentiation and forcing mechanisms of the elements of the natural environment(e.g. geomorphology,climate, hydrology, soil, etc.) are the main objects of research in physical geography. China has a complex natural environment and huge regional differentiation and therefore it provides outstanding reserach opportunities in physical geography. This review summarizes the most important developments and the main contributions of research in the physical geography and human living environment in China during the past 70 years. The major topics addressed are the uplift of the Tibetan Plateau and the evolution of its cryosphere, the development of fluvial systems, the acidification of the vast arid region of the Asian interior, variations in the monsoon and westerly climate systems on multiple timescales, the development of lakes and wetlands, the watershed system model, soil erosion, past human-environment interactions, biogeography, and physical geographic zonality. After briefly introducing international research developments, we review the history of research in physical geography in China, focusing on the major achievements and major academic debates, and finally we summarize the status of current research and the future prospects. 5Evaluation of umami taste components of mushroom (Suillus granulatus) of different grades prepared by different drying methods显示文摘Suillus granulatus is a valuable wild edible mushroom with a strong umami taste.Different grades of S.granulatus were dried by different methods,including natural air drying(ND),hot air drying(HAD),vacuum drying(VD),and freeze drying(FD).Results showed that VD samples of all grades had the highest equivalent umami concentration(EUC)value(P<0.05).The second grade of ND samples showed the highest EUC value(P<0.05).The first grade of HAD samples showed the highest EUC value(P<0.05).The third grade of FD samples showed the highest EUC value(P<0.05).The third grade of VD samples had a higher EUC value than the other grades of samples dried by VD.Electronic tongue results indicated no significant differences between samples of all grades dried by all methods.Thus,umami taste components are affected by drying method and grade.VD is an appropriate drying method for all sample grades.ND,HAD,and FD are suitable for second-,first-,and third-grade samples,respectively.Xiuhong Zhao Yunyun Wei Xue Gong Heran Xu Guang Xin 2020Food Science and Human Wellness2020,9,2:7

7SHY2 as a node in the regulation of root meristem development by auxin, brassinosteroids, and cytokinin显示文摘In multicellular organisms,the balance be-tween cell division and differentiation determines organ size,and represents a central unknown in devel-opmental biology.In Arabidopsis roots,this balance is mediated between cytokinin and auxin through a reg-ulatory circuit converging on the IAA3/SHORT HYPO-COTYL 2(SHY2)gene.Here,we show that crosstalk between brassinosteroids(BRs)and auxin occurs in the vascular transition zone to promote root meristem de-velopment.We found that BR increases root meristem size by up-regulating expression of the PINFORMED 7(PIN7)gene and down-regulating expression of the SHY2 gene.In addition,BES1 could directly bind to the pro-moter regions of both PIN7 and SHY2,indicating that PIN7 and SHY2 mediate the BR-induced growth of the root meristem by serving as direct targets of BES1.Moreover,the PIN7 overexpression and loss-of-function SHY2 mutant were sensitive to the effects of BR and could partially suppress the short-root phenotypes associated with deficient BR signaling.Interestingly,BRs could inhibit the accumulation of SHY2 protein in response to cytokinin.Taken together,these findings suggest that a complex equilibrium model exists in which regulatory interactions among BRs,auxin,and cytokinin regulate optimal root growth.Taotao Li Xinke Kang Wei Lei Xiuhong Yao Lijuan Zou Dawei Zhang Honghui Lin 2020Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2020,62,10:5
8Effect of Inonotus Obliquus Polysaccharides on physical fatigue in mice显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the potential beneficial effects of Inonotus obliquuspolysaccharides(IOP) on the alleviation of physical fatigue in mice.METHODS: Sixty-four male mice were randomly divided into four groups(n = 16 per group). Mice were orally administered IOP for a period of 14 days at 0,100,200 and 300 mg/kg/d,and were assigned to the control,IOP-100,IOP-200,and IOP-300 groups,respectively by the random number table method. Mice in the control group received an oral administration of sterile distilled water. A forced swimming test was performed for 8 mice per group at one hour after the last treatment. The other 8mice in each group swam for 30 min. Blood,liver and muscle samples were taken after resting for30 min. Levels of blood urea nitrogen and lactate,as well as glycogen contents of the liver and muscle were measured. Morphology of liver was observed by light microscopy.RESULTS: IOP extended the swimming time of mice,and increased the glycogen content of liver and muscle,but decreased blood lactic acid and serum urea nitrogen levels. 10Genomic DNA methylation patterns in bovine preim-plantation embryos derived from in vitro fertilization显示文摘By using the approach of immunofluorescence staining with an antibody against 5-methylcytosine (5MeC), the present study detected the DNA methylation patterns of bovine zygotes and preimplanta-tion embryos derived from oocyte in vitro maturation (IVM), in vitro fertilization (IVF) and embryo in vitro culture (IVC). The results showed that: a) paternal-specific demethylation occurred in 61.5% of the examined zygotes, while 34.6% of them showed no demethylation; b) decreased methylation level was observed after the 8-cell stage and persisted through the morula stage, however methylation levels were different between blastomeres within the same embryos; c) at the blastocyst stage, the methyla-tion level was very low in inner cell mass, but high in trophectoderm cells. 14An improved Landsat Image Mosaic of Antarctica显示文摘A revised Landsat Image Mosaic of Antarctica (LIMA) is presented, using the 1073 multi-band scenes of the original Landsat-7 ETM+ LIMA image collection available at the United States Geological Survey (USGS: http://gffzza64998f73d704ee0hfo6knqv65xw56nkk.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn/). Three improvements have been applied during the data processing: (1) DN saturation is adjusted by adopting a linear regression, which has a lower root mean square error than the ratio regression used by LIMA; (2) solar elevation angle is calculated using pixel-level latitude/longitude and the acquisition time and date of the central pixel of the scene, improving slightly upon the bilinear interpolation of the solar elevation angles of scene corners applied in LIMA; and (3) two additional image bands, Band 5 and Band 7, are sharpened using the panchromatic band (Band 8) and a Gram-Schmidt Spectral Sharpening algorithm to more easily distinguish snow, cloud and exposed rocks. The final planetary reflectance product is stored in 16-bit bands to preserve the full radiometric content of the scenes. 15Formation mechanism of shrinkage and large inclusions of a 70t 12Cr2Mo1 heavy steel ingot显示文摘Shrinkage cavities and large inclusions are serious internal defects of heavy steel ingot and influence the quality of subsequent forgings. In order to remove these two types of defects, a 70 t 12Cr2Mo1 heavy ingot fabricated by vacuum carbon de-oxidation process was sectioned and investigated by means of structure observation and EDS analysis. To further study the forming mechanism of shrinkage and inclusion defects and find possible solutions, simulation on pouring and solidification processes was also carried out using Fluent and ProCAST software, respectively. Results show that the shrinkage defects do not appear in the middle-upper part of the ingot. The critical value of shrinkage cavity criterion is ascertained as 0.013 on the basis of sectioning investigation and simulation results, which can be used in computer simulation to predict and avoid shrinkage defects in production of 12Cr2Mo1 ingots with different weights. However, large inclusions are found at the bottom of the ingot body. The bad thermal conditions of the ingot surface and large amount of entrained slag are the main origin of the large inclusions. 17Codebook Design and Beam Training for Extremely Large-Scale RIS:Far-Field or Near-Field?显示文摘Reconfigurable intelligent surface(RIS)is more likely to develop into extremely large-scale RIS(XL-RIS)to efficiently boost the system capacity for future 6 G communications.Beam training is an effective way to acquire channel state information(CSI)for XL-RIS.Existing beam training schemes rely on the far-field codebook.However,due to the large aperture of XL-RIS,the scatters are more likely to be in the near-field region of XL-RIS.The far-field codebook mismatches the near-field channel model.Thus,the existing far-field beam training scheme will cause severe performance loss in the XL-RIS assisted nearfield communications.To solve this problem,we propose the efficient near-field beam training schemes by designing the near-field codebook to match the nearfield channel model.Specifically,we firstly design the near-field codebook by considering the near-field cascaded array steering vector of XL-RIS.Then,the optimal codeword for XL-RIS is obtained by the exhausted training procedure.To reduce the beam training overhead,we further design a hierarchical nearfield codebook and propose the corresponding hierarchical near-field beam training scheme,where different levels of sub-codebooks are searched in turn with reduced codebook size.Simulation results show the proposed near-field beam training schemes outperform the existing far-field beam training scheme.Xiuhong Wei Linglong Dai Yajun Zhao Guanghui Yu Xiangyang Duan 2022China Communications2022,19,6:3
18Novel biallelic TRNT1 mutations lead to atypical SIFD and multiple immune defects显示文摘Mutations in the gene encoding transfer RNA(tRNA)nucleotidyltransferase,CCAadding 1(TRNT1),an enzyme essential for the synthesis of the 30-terminal CCA sequence in tRNA molecules,are associated with a rare syndrome of congenital sideroblastic anemia,B cell immunodeficiency,periodic fevers,and developmental delay(SIFD).Clinical manifestations and immunological phenotypes were assessed in a Chinese patient with novel compound heterozygous mutations in TRNT1.The patient required multiple hospitalizations starting at the age of 2 years for recurrent fevers without an infective cause.During the febrile episode,the patient was found to have microcytic hypochromic anemia,B cell lymphopenia,and hypogammaglobulinemia.Targeted gene sequencing identified novel compound heterozygous mutations in the TRNT1 gene(c.525delT,p.Leu176X;c.938T>C,p.Leu313Ser).Immunophenotyping revealed increased CD8^+T cells,CD4^+ terminally differentiated effector memory helper T lymphocytes(CD4 TEMRA),and CD4^+ effector memory lymphocytes(CD4 EM).Analysis of CD4^+T subsets identified decreased T follicular helper cells(Tfh)with a biased phenotype to Th2-like cells.The patient also showed a lower percentage of switched memory B(smB)cells.Additionally,defects in the cytotoxicity of the patient’s NK andγτT cells were shown by CD107alpha expression.In conclusion,TRNT1 mutations may lead to multiple immune abnormality especially humoral and cytotoxicity defects,which indicate that SIFD is not only suffered‘Predominantly antibody deficiencies’in IUIS classification system,and further studies are needed to understand the pathogenesis of immunodeficiency in these patients.Lu Yang Xiuhong Xue Ting Zeng Xuemei Chen Qin Zhao Xuemei Tang Jun Yang Yunfei An Xiaodong Zhao 2020Genes & Diseases2020,7,1:3
19Chemical Compositions,Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Roll Core used Ductile Iron in Centrifugal Casting Composite Rolls显示文摘The industrial manufacture processes of three kinds of roll core used ductile irons have been investigated via systematical experiments. Effects of the ratio of C/Si, pig iron, nodularizer and alloying method on the microstructure and mechanical properties of the heavy section ductile iron have been analyzed. It has been found that when treated with RE-Mg plus Sb, high quality nodular castings can be produced even if much anti spheroidizing alloy elements are included in the pig iron. 20Numerical study of macrosegregation formation of ingot cast in normal sand mold and water-cooled sand mold显示文摘Formation of macrosegregation of 5 t steel ingots cast in sand molds with and without water-cooled copper tube is simulated by solving macroscopic mass,momentum,species and energy conservation equations with the consideration of shrinkage formation.Predicted macrosegregation pattern of the ingots shows a fair agreement with the experimental data.Both calculations and experiments reveal that some positive segregation patches are formed at the bottom of ingot.With the water-cooled copper tube inserted in the sand mold,the ingot cast has a less intensive macrosegregation.Mechanisms of macrosegregation formation are numerically analyzed.Explanations regarding the influences of fluid flow and temperature change upon the segregation formation are provided.Dongrong LIU Xiuhong KANG Baoguanq SANG Dianzhong LI 2011Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2011,24,1:3
