| 1 | N-P fertilization did not reduce AMF abundance or diversity but alter AMF composition in an alpine grassland infested by a root hemiparasitic plant显示文摘Fertilization has been shown to have suppressive effects on arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi(AMF) and root hemiparasites separately in numerous investigations, but its effects on AMF in the presence of root hemiparasites remain untested. In view of the contrasting nutritional effects of AMF and root hemiparasites on host plants, we tested the hypothesis that fertilization may not show strong suppressive effects on AMF when a plant community was infested by abundant hemiparasitic plants. Plants and soil samples were collected from experimental field plots in Bayanbulak Grassland, where N and P fertilizers had been applied for three continuous years for control against a spreading root hemiparasite, Pedicularis kansuensis. Shoot and root biomass of each plant functional group were determined. Root AMF colonization levels, soil spore abundance, and extraradical hyphae length density were measured for three soil depths(0 e10 cm, 10 e20 cm, 20 e30 cm). Partial 18 S r RNA gene sequencing was used to detect AMF diversity and community composition. In addition, we analyzed the relationship between relative abundance of different AMF genera and environmental factors using Spearman's correlation method. In contrast to suppressive effects reported by many previous studies, fertilization showed no significant effects on AMF root colonization or AMF species diversity in the soil. Instead, a marked increase in soil spore abundance and extraradical hyphae length density were observed. However, fertilization altered relative abundance and AMF composition in the soil. | 2 | C.elegans-based screen identifies lysosome-damaging alkaloids that induce STAT3-dependent lysosomal cell death显示文摘Lysosomes are degradation and signaling centers within the cell,and their dysfunction impairs a wide variety of cellular processes.To understand the cellular effect of lysosome damage,we screened natural smallmolecule compounds that induce iysosomal abnormality using Caenorhabditis elegans (C.elegans)as a model system.A group of vobasinyl-ibogan type bisindole alkaloids (ervachinines A-D)were identified that caused lysosome enlargement in C.elegans macrophage-like cells.Intriguingly,these compounds triggered cell death in the germ line independently of the canonical apoptosis pathway.In mammalian cells, ervachinines A-D induced lysosomal enlargement and damage,leading to leakage of cathepsin proteases, inhibition of autophagosome degradation and necrotic cell death.Further analysis revealed that this ervachinine-induced lysosome damage and lysosomal cell death depended on STAT3 signaling,but not RIP1 or RIP3 signaling.These findings suggest that lysosomedamaging compounds are promising reagents for dissecting signaling mechanisms underlying lysosome homeostasis and lysosome-related human disorders. | Yang Li Yu Zhang Qiwen Gan Meng Xu Xiao Ding Guihua Tang Jingjing Liang Kai Liu Xuezhao Liu Xin Wang Lingli Guo Zhiyang Gao Xiaojiang Hao Chonglin Yang | 2018 | Protein & Cell2018,9,12: | 2 |
| 3 | Ruthenium-modified porous NiCo2O4 nanosheets boost overall water splitting in alkaline solution显示文摘Exploring efficient oxygen evolution reaction(OER)and hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)electrocatalysts is crucial for developing water splitting devices.The composition and structure of catalysts are of great importance for catalytic performance.In this work,a heterogeneous Ru modified strategy is engineered to improve the catalytic performance of porous NiCo_(2)O_(4)nanosheets(NSs).Profiting from favorable elements composition and optimized structure property of decreased charge transfer barrier,more accessible active sites and increased oxygen vacancy concentration,the Ru-NiCo_(2)O_(4)NSs exhibits excellent OER activity with a low overpotential of 230 mV to reach the current density of 10 mA/cm^(2)and decent durability.Furthermore,Ru-NiCo_(2)O_(4)NSs show superior HER activity than the pristine NiCo_(2)O_(4)NSs,as well.When assembling Ru-NiCo_(2)O_(4)NSs couple as an alkaline water electrolyzer,a cell voltage of 1.60 V can deliver the current density of 10 mA/cm^(2).This work provides feasible guidance for improving the catalytic performance of spinel-based oxides. | Rui Yang Xuezhao Shi Yanyan Wang Jing Jin Hanwen Liu Jie Yin Yong-Qing Zhao Pinxian Xi | 2022 | Chinese Chemical Letters2022,33,11: | 1 |
| 4 | Observation of changes in the number of myocardial capillaries in rabbits after treatment of acute myocardial infarction by Tongxinluo superfine powder显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effects of Tongxinluo superfine powder on cardiac function, infarct size and the number of myocardial capillaries in a rabbit model of acute myocardial infarction.METHODS: A total of 32 New Zealand white rabbits were randomly divided into four groups: sham operation group, model group, treatment group,and pre-treatment, the experiment of pre-treatment group was performed 6 weeks early than the treat) group,The four groups use a unified modeling technique. An acute myocardial infarction model was established through external application of70% ferric chloride on the coronary artery. After 7 d,electrocardiogram, ultrasonography of cardiac function, micro-computed tomography, pathology and other data were collected.RESULTS: In the treatment and pre-treatment groups, ejection fraction, left ventricular short axis shortening rate, left ventricular end-systolic diameter and cardiac output significantly improved, the number of capillaries significantly increased, and infarct size significantly decreased.
