1A rapid advice guideline for the diagnosis and treatment of 2019 novel coronavirus(2019-nCoV) infected pneumonia(standard version)显示文摘In December 2019, a new type viral pneumonia cases occurred in Wuhan, Hubei Province;and then named '2019 novel coronavirus(2019-nCoV)' by the World Health Organization(WHO) on 12 January 2020. For it is a never been experienced respiratory disease before and with infection ability widely and quickly, it attracted the world’s attention but without treatment and control manual. For the request from frontline clinicians and public health professionals of 2019-nCoV infected pneumonia management, an evidence-based guideline urgently needs to be developed. Therefore, we drafted this guideline according to the rapid advice guidelines methodology and general rules of WHO guideline development;we also added the first-hand management data of Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University. This guideline includes the guideline methodology, epidemiological characteristics, disease screening and population prevention, diagnosis, treatment and control(including traditional Chinese Medicine), nosocomial infection prevention and control, and disease nursing of the 2019-nCoV. Moreover, we also provide a whole process of a successful treatment case of the severe 2019-nCoV infected pneumonia and experience and lessons of hospital rescue for 2019-nCoV infections. 2Effect of Heat Treatment on Microstructure and Property of Cr13 Super Martensitic Stainless Steel显示文摘The microstructures and mechanical properties of Cr13 super martensitic stainless steel after different heat treatments were studied. The results show that the structures of the steel after quenching are of lath martensite mixed with a small amount of retained austenite. With the raising quenching temperature, the original austenite grain size increases and the lath martensite gradually becomes thicker. The structures of the tempered steel are mixtures of tempered martensite and reversed austenite dispersed in the martensite matrix. The amount of reversed austenite is from 7.54% to 22.49%. After different heat treatments, the tensile strength, the elongation and the HRC hardness of the steel are in the range of 813-1 070 MPa, 10.1%-21.2% and 21.33-32.37, respectively. 3Ligustrazine monomer against cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury显示文摘Ligustrazine(2,3,5,6-tetramethylpyrazine) is a major active ingredient of the Szechwan lovage rhizome and is extensively used in treatment of ischemic cerebrovascular disease.The mechanism of action of ligustrazine use against ischemic cerebrovascular diseases remains unclear at present.This study summarizes its protective effect,the optimum time window of administration,and the most effective mode of administration for clinical treatment of cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury.We examine the effects of ligustrazine on suppressing excitatory amino acid release,promoting migration,differentiation and proliferation of endogenous neural stem cells.We also looked at its effects on angiogenesis and how it inhibits thrombosis,the inflammatory response,and apoptosis after cerebral ischemia.We consider that ligustrazine gives noticeable protection from cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury.The time window of ligustrazine administration is limited.The protective effect and time window of a series of derivative monomers of ligustrazine such as 2-[(1,1-dimethylethyl)oxidoimino]methyl]-3,5,6-trimethylpyrazine,CXC137 and CXC195 after cerebral ischemia were better than ligustrazine.Hai-jun Gao Peng-fei Liu Pei-wen Li Zhuo-yan Huang Feng-bo Yu Ting Lei Yong Chen Ye Cheng Qing-chun Mu Hai-yan Huang 2015Neural Regeneration Research2015,10,5:48
4The application of large volume airgun sources to the onshore-offshore seismic surveys: implication of the experimental results in northern South China Sea显示文摘Onshore-offshore seismic experiments were carried out for the first time in northern South China Sea using large volume airgun sources at sea and seismic stations on land. The experimental results indicate that seismic signals from the new airgun array of R/V Shiyan 2 can be detected as far as 255 km. The signal effective area reaches nearly 50000 km2, which covers Hong Kong and Pearl River Delta. Compared with the old airgun array, the signal amplitude, propagation distance and effective area of the new airgun array have been increased notably, which demonstrates that the upgrade of the airgun source was successful. Comparisons with previous experimental results in other regions show that the shooting effect of the new airgun array is similar to those best airgun sources in the world. 5Clinicopathologic characteristics and prognosis of gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms: a multicenter study in South China显示文摘Background: Gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms(GEP-NENs) are a heterogeneous group of rare tumors. Many issues in terms of epidemiologic features, pathogenesis, and treatment of GEP-NENs are still under discussion. Our study aimed to analyze the clinicopathologic characteristics and prognosis of Chinese patients with GEP-NENs.Methods: Complete clinicopathologic data and survival information of 1183 patients with GEP-NENs treated between 2005 and 2015 were collected from five medical centers in Guangdong Province, China. Patient survival was estimated using the Kaplan–Meier method and analyzed using the log-rank test; prognostic factors were analyzed using the Cox proportional hazards model.Results: The most common tumor location was the rectum(37.4%), followed by the pancreas(28.1%), stomach(20.7%), small intestine(7.2%), appendix(3.4%), and colon(3.3%). After initial definitive diagnosis, 1016(85.9%) patients underwent surgery. The 1-, 3-, and 5-year overall survival(OS) rates for the entire cohort were 87.9%, 78.5%, and 72.8%, respectively. The 3-year OS rates of patients with G1, G2, and G3 tumors were 93.1%, 82.7%, and 43.1%, respectively(P < 0.001). The 3-year OS rates of patients with stage I, II, III, and IV tumors were 96.0%, 87.3%, 64.0%, and 46.8%, respectively(P < 0.001). Patients with distant metastasis who underwent palliative surgery had a longer survival than those who did not(P = 0.003). Similar survival benefits of palliative surgery were observed in patients with neuroendocrine tumor(P y, M category, and sur= 0.031) or neuroendocrine carcinoma(P gery were found to be independent prog= 0.046). In multivariate analysis, age, grade, N categornostic factors.Conclusions: Patients with GEP-NENs who are women, younger than 50 years old, have smaller tumor size, have lower tumor grade, have lower T/N/M category, and who undergo surgery can have potentially longer survival time. Our data showed that surgery can improve the prognosis of GEP-NEN patients with distant metastasis. 10The Impacts of Maternal Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM) on Fetal Hearts显示文摘Objective To evaluate the fetal cardiac function in gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) pregnancies under different maternal glycemic controls.Methods Forty four GDM mothers received 78 fetal echocardiographic evaluations at three gestational periods (<28,28-34 and ≥34 weeks) and were divided into poorly-(DM1) and well-(DM2) controlled groups according to their glycemic control at examination.Seventy uncomplicated mothers were selected as controls.Parameters of fetal cardiac anatomy and function were measured and analyzed.Results GDM fetuses' cardiac ventricular walls were thicker than controls',and the differences between DM1 and DM2 were not significant except for end-diastolic left ventricular walls.In both GDM groups,the aortic flow velocities increased earlier than pulmonary artery and DM1 fetuses changed earlier than DM2 ones.GDM fetuses' left atrial shortening fraction was smaller than the controls' in the period of ≥34 weeks and negatively correlated with thicknesses of left ventricular walls and interventricular septum in DM1 fetuses (r=-0.438 and -0.506).The right ventricular diastolic function in DM1 and DM2 fetuses decreased after the period of 28-34 weeks and in the period of ≥34 weeks respectively.Tei index of both left and right ventricles increased in DM1 group after the period of<28 weeks and in DM2 group only in the period of ≥34 weeks,with no significant differences between DM1 and DM2 groups in this period.Conclusion Fetuses of GDM mothers showed cardiac function impairments.Good maternal glycemic control may delay the impairments,but cannot reduce the degree.Some cardiac changes in GDM fetuses were similar to those in pregestational diabetic pregnancies except for several parameters and their changing time.CHU Chen GUI Yong Hao PEN Yun Yun SHI Li Ye 2012Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2012,25,1:20

12PTEN and Ki67 expression is associated with clinicopathologic features of non-small cell lung cancer显示文摘Phosphatase and tensin homolog deleted on chromosome 10(PTEN) and the proliferating antigen Ki67 have been widely studied in several tumors.However,their role as indicator in non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)remains unknown.Here,we investigated the expression of PTEN and Ki67 in NSCLC tissues and paired normal lung tissues to identify whether these proteins are associated with lung cancer development and survival.Immunohistochemistry for PTEN and Ki67 was performed on 67 lung cancer tissues and 41 paired adjacent normal lung tissues to detect the expression of these two proteins.The expression of PTEN in NSCLC tissues(32.8%) was significantly lower than that in normal tissues(82.9%,P < 0.05).In contrast,the expression of Ki67 in NSCLC tissues(76.1%) was significantly higher than that in normal tissues(27.3%,P < 0.05).Expression of both PTEN and Ki67 were strongly associated with tumor histology,clinical stage,lymph node metastasis,differentiation and4-year postoperative survival rate(P < 0.05).However,PTEN expression was negatively correlated with Ki67 expression(r =-0.279,P < 0.05).In conclusion,low PTEN expression and Ki67 overexpression are associated with malignant invasion and lymph node metastasis of NSCLC.These proteins may serve as diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers of NSCLC.Yong Ji Mingfeng Zheng Shugao Ye Jingyu Chen Yijiang Chen 2014The Journal of Biomedical Research2014,28,6:16
13Mitochondrial inhibitor as a new class of insulin sensitizer显示文摘Insulin resistance is a major risk factor for type 2 diabetes.AMP-activated protein kinase(AMPK)is a drug target in the improvement of insulin sensitivity.Several insulin-sensitizing medicines are able to activate AMPK through inhibition of mitochondrial functions.These drugs,such as metformin and STZ,inhibit ATP synthesis in mitochondria to raise AMP/ATP ratio in the.process of A MPK activation.However,chemicals that activate AMPK directly or by activating its upstream kinases have not been approved for treatment of type 2 diabetes in humans.In an early study,we reported that berberine inhibited oxygen consumption in mitochondria,and increased AMP/ATP ratio in cells.The observation suggests an indirect mechanism for AMPK activation by berberine.Berberine stimulates glycolysis for ATP production that offsets the cell toxicity after mitochondria inhibition.The study suggests that mitochondrial inhibition is an approach for AMPK activation.In this review article,literature is critically reviewed to interpret the role of mitochondria function in the mechanism of insulin resistance,which supports that mitochondria inhibitors represent a new class of AMPK activator.The inhibitors are promising candidates for insulin sensitizers.This review provides a guideline in search for small molecule AMPK activators in the drug discovery for type 2 diabetes.Yong Zhang Jianping Ye 2012Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2012,2,4:15

15Defecation function and quality of life in patients with slow-transit constipation after colectomy显示文摘BACKGROUND Although total or subtotal colectomy for slow-transit constipation(STC)has been proven to be a definite treatment,the associated defecation function and quality of life(QOL)are rarely studied.AIM To evaluate the effectiveness of surgery for STC regarding defecation function and QOL.METHODS From March 2013 to September 2017,30 patients undergoing surgery for STC in our department were analyzed.Preoperative,intra-operative,and postoperative 3-mo,6-mo,1-year,and 2-year follow-up details were recorded.Defecation function was assessed by bowel movements,abdominal pain,bloating,straining,laxative,enema use,diarrhea,and the Wexner constipation and incontinence scales.QOL was evaluated using the gastrointestinal QOL index and the 36-item short form survey.RESULTS The majority of patients(93.1%,27/29)stated that they benefited from the operation at the 2-year follow-up.At each time point of the follow-up,the number of bowel movements per week significantly increased compared with that of the preoperative conditions(P<0.05).Similarly,compared with the preoperative values,a marked decline was observed in bloating,straining,laxative,and enema use at each time point of the follow-up(P<0.05).Postoperative diarrhea could be controlled effectively and notably improved at the 2-year follow-up.The Wexner incontinence scores at 6-mo,1-year,and 2-year were notably lower than those at the 3-mo follow-up(P<0.05).Compared with those of the preoperative findings,the Wexner constipation scores significantly decreased following surgery(P<0.05).Thus,it was reasonable to find that the gastrointestinal QOL index scores clearly increase(P<0.05)and that the 36-item short form survey results displayed considerable improvements in six spheres(role physical,role emotional,physical pain,vitality,mental health,and general health)following surgery.CONCLUSION Total or subtotal colectomy for STC is not only effective in alleviating constipation-related symptoms but also in enhancing patients’QOL.Yue Tian Li Wang Jing-Wang Ye Yong Zhang Hui-Chao Zheng Hao-De Shen Fan Li Bao-Hua Liu Wei-Dong Tong 2020World Journal of Clinical Cases2020,8,10:13

18ACSL4 is a predictive biomarker of sorafenib sensitivity in hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘Sorafenib is the first-line treatment of advanced hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).However,there is a lack of validated biomarkers to predict sorafenib sensitivity.In this study we investigated the role of ACSL4,a positive-activating enzyme of ferroptosis,in sorafenib-induced cell death and HCC patient outcome.We showed that ACSL4 protein expression was negatively associated with IC50 values of sorafenib in a panel of HCC cell lines(R=−0.952,P<0.001).Knockdown of ACSL4 expression by specific siRNA/sgRNA significantly attenuated sorafenib-induced lipid peroxidation and ferroptosis in Huh7 cells,and also rescued sorafenib-induced inhibition of xenograft tumor growth in vivo.We selected 29 HCC patients with surgery as primary treatment and sorafenib as postoperative adjunct therapy from a hospital-based cohort.A high proportion(66.7%)of HCC patients who had complete or partial responses to sorafenib treatment(according to the revised RECIST guideline)had higher ACSL4 expression in the pretreated HCC tissues,compared with those who had stable or progressed tumor growth(23.5%,P=0.029).Since ACSL4 expression was independent of sorafenib treatment,it could serve as a useful predictive biomarker.Taken together,this study demonstrates that ACSL4 is essential for sorafenib-induced ferroptosis and useful for predicting sorafenib sensitivity in HCC.This study may have important translational impacts in precise treatment of HCC.Ji Feng Pei-zhi Lu Guang-zhi Zhu Shing Chung Hooi Yong Wu Xiao-wei Huang Hui-qi Dai Pan-hong Chen Zhong-jie Li Wen-jing Su Chuang-ye Han Xin-ping Ye Tao Peng Jing Zhou Guo-dong Lu 2021Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2021,42,1:11
19Giant submucosal lipoma located in the descending colon: A case report and review of the literature显示文摘Colonic lipoma is an uncommon tumor of the gastrointestinal tract.Most cases are asymptomatic,with a small tumor size,and do not need any special treatment.However,we encountered one patient with a giant submucosal lipoma,with a maximum diameter of 8.5 cm,which exhibited symptoms such as intermittent lower abdominal pain,changes in bowel habits with passage of fresh blood and mucus per rectum,abdominal distension,anorexia and weight loss.Unfortunately,the possibility of colonic malignancy could not be precluded and left hemicolectomy was planned.The exact diagnosis of this special case was accomplished by intraoperative pathology.In the end,local resection was performed instead of left hemicolectomy.To the best of our knowledge,colonic lipoma exceeding 8 cm in diameter has not been previously reported.We,therefore,present this case and discuss age and sex factors,clinical and histopathological findings,diagnostic methods and treatment by reviewing the available literature,to serve as a reminder that colonic lipoma can also exist in patients with significant symptoms.In addition,intraoperative pathology should be investigated in those doubtful cases,so as to guide the exact diagnosis and treatment plan.Li Jiang Li-Sheng Jiang Fu-Yu Li Hui Ye Ning Li Nan-Sheng Cheng Yong Zhou 2007World Journal of Gastroenterology2007,13,42:11

This study aimed to determine the resistance of K. obovata seedlings to low temperature stress by cold acclimation and to explain the mechanisms for alleviating cold injury. To understand these mechanisms, seedlings that were acclimatized and not acclimatized were exposed to 5℃/- 2℃(day/night)for 48 h.Results showed that low temperature stress reduced leaf photosynthesis of non-acclimatized seedlings by inducing oxidative stress and structural damage to chloroplasts. These phenomena were shown by increasing levels of malondialdehyde (MDA), O2-and H2O2, as well as decreasing enzyme activities in the ascorbate–glutathione (AsA-GSH) cycle. However, cold-acclimatized seedlings had improved photosynthetic rates and efficiency of photosystem II (PSII) under low temperature stress. Compared with non-acclimatized seedlings, leaves of coldacclimatized seedlings under low temperature stress for 48 h exhibited higher anti-oxidative enzyme activities, lower levels of O2^- and H2O2, less damage to chloroplast structure, and removed 33.7% of MDA at low temperature stress for 48 h. The data indicate that cold acclimation enhances photosynthetic capacity by effectively regulating activation in the PSII electron transport and the AsA–GSH cycle to scavenge excess ROS in chloroplasts, while the latter is more important.Weicheng Liu Chunfang Zheng Jinong Chen Jianbiao Qiu Zhixing Huang Qi Wang Yong Ye 2019Journal of Forestry Research2019,30,3:11
