1Erianin,a novel dibenzyl compound in Dendrobium extract,inhibits lung cancer cell growth and migration via calcium/calmodulin-dependent ferroptosis显示文摘Ferroptosis,a novel form of programmed cell death,is characterized by iron-dependent lipid peroxidation and has been shown to be involved in multiple diseases,including cancer.Stimulating ferroptosis in cancer cells may be a potential strategy for cancer therapy.Therefore,ferroptosis-inducing drugs are attracting more attention for cancer treatment.Here,we showed that erianin,a natural product isolated from Dendrobium chrysotoxum Lindl,exerted its anticancer activity by inducing cell death and inhibiting cell migration in lung cancer cells.Subsequently,we demonstrated for the first time that erianin induced ferroptotic cell death in lung cancer cells,which was accompanied by ROS accumulation,lipid peroxidation,and GSH depletion.The ferroptosis inhibitors Fer-1 and Lip-1 but not Z-VAD-FMK,CQ,or necrostatin-1 rescued erianin-induced cell death,indicating that ferroptosis contributed to erianin-induced cell death.Furthermore,we demonstrated that Ca^(2+)/CaM signaling was a critical mediator of erianin-induced ferroptosis and that blockade of this signaling significantly rescued cell death induced by erianin treatment by suppressing ferroptosis.Taken together,our data suggest that the natural product erianin exerts its anticancer effects by inducing Ca^(2+)/CaMdependent ferroptosis and inhibiting cell migration,and erianin will hopefully serve as a prospective compound for lung cancer treatment.Peng Chen Qibiao Wu Jiao Feng Lili Yan Yitian Sun Shuiping Liu Yu Xiang Mingming Zhang Ting Pan Xiaying Chen Ting Duan Lijuan Zhai Bingtao Zhai Wengang Wang Ruonan Zhang Bi Chen Xuemeng Han Yicong Li Liuxi Chen Ying Liu Xingxing Huang Ting Jin Wenzheng Zhang Hong Luo Xiaohui Chen Yongqiang Li Qiujie Li Guohua Li Qin Zhang Lvjia Zhuo Zuyi Yang Huifen Tang Tian Xie Xiaoping Ouyang Xinbing Sui 2020Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2020,5,1:42
2Baicalin induces ferroptosis in bladder cancer cells by downregulating FTH1显示文摘Ferroptosis is a non-apoptotic regulated cell death caused by iron accumulation and subsequent lipid peroxidation.Currently,the therapeutic role of ferroptosis on cancer is gaining increasing interest.Baicalin an active component in Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi with anticancer potential various cancer types;however,the effects of baicalein on bladder cancer and the underlying molecular mechanisms remain largely unknown.In the study,we investigated the effect of baicalin on bladder cancer cells5637 and KU-19-19.As a result,we show baicalin exerted its anticancer activity by inducing apoptosis and cell death in bladder cancer cells.Subsequently,we for the first time demonstrate baicalin-induced ferroptotic cell death in vitro and in vivo,accompanied by reactive oxygen species(ROS) accumulation and intracellular chelate iron enrichment.The ferroptosis inhibitor deferoxamine but not necrostatin-1,chloroquine(CQ),N-acetyl-L-cysteine,L-glutathione reduced,or carbobenzoxy-valyl-alanyl-aspartyl-[O-methyl]-fluoromethylketone(Z-VAD-FMK) rescued baicalin-induced cell death,indicating ferroptosis contributed to baicalin-induced cell death.Mechanistically,we show that ferritin heavy chain1(FTH1) was a key determinant for baicalin-induced ferroptosis.Overexpression of FTH1 abrogated the anticancer effects of baicalin in both 5637 and KU19-19 cells.Taken together,our data for the first time suggest that the natural product baicalin exerts its anticancer activity by inducing FTH1-dependent ferroptosis,which will hopefully provide a prospective compound for bladder cancer treatment.Na Kong Xiaying Chen Jiao Feng Ting Duan Shuiping Liu Xueni Sun Peng Chen Ting Pan Lili Yan Ting Jin Yu Xiang Quan Gao Chengyong Wen Weirui Ma Wencheng Liu Mingming Zhang Zuyi Yang Wengang Wang Ruonan Zhang Bi Chen Tian Xie Xinbing Sui Wei Tao 2021Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2021,11,12:23

4An ATF24 peptide-functionalized β-elemene-nanostructured lipid carrier combined with cisplatin for bladder cancer treatment显示文摘Objective:In this study,we aimed to develop an amino-terminal fragment(ATF)peptide-targeted liposome carryingβ-elemene(ATF24-PEG-Lipo-β-E)for targeted delivery into urokinase plasminogen activator receptor-overexpressing bladder cancer cells combined with cisplatin(DDP)for bladder cancer treatment.Methods:The liposomes were prepared by ethanol injection and high-pressure microjet homogenization.The liposomes were characterized,and the drug content,entrapment efficiency,andin vitro release were studied.The targeting efficiency was investigated using confocal microscopy,ultra-fast liquid chromatography,and an orthotopic bladder cancer model.The effects of ATF24-PEG-Lipo-β-E combined with DDP on cell viability and proliferation were evaluated by a Cell Counting Kit-8(CCK-8)assay,a colony formation assay,and cell apoptosis and cell cycle analyses.The anticancer effects were evaluated in a KU-19-19 bladder cancer xenograft model.Results:ATF24-PEG-Lipo-β-E had small and uniform sizes(~79 nm),high drug loading capacity(~5.24 mg/mL),high entrapment efficiency(98.37±0.95%),and exhibited sustained drug release behavior.ATF24-PEG-Lipo-β-E had better targeting efficiency and higher cytotoxicity than polyethylene glycol(PEG)ylatedβ-elemene liposomes(PEG-Lipo-β-E).DDP,combined with ATF24-PEG-Lipo-β-E,exerted a synergistic effect on cellular apoptosis and cell arrest at the G2/M phase,and these effects were dependent on the caspase-dependent pathway and Cdc25C/Cdc2/cyclin B1 pathways.Furthermore,thein vivo antitumor activity showed that the targeted liposomes effectively inhibited the growth of tumors,using the combined strategy.Conclusions:The present study provided an effective strategy for the targeted delivery ofβ-elemene(β-E)to bladder cancer,and a combined strategy for bladder cancer treatment.Bingtao Zhai Peng Chen Wengang Wang Shuiping Liu Jiao Feng Ting Duan Yu Xiang Ruonan Zhang Mingming Zhang Xuemeng Han Xiaying Chen Qiujie Li Guohua Li Ying Liu Xingxing Huang Wenzheng Zhang Ting Pan Lili Yan Ting Jin Tian Xie Xinbing Sui 2020Cancer Biology & Medicine2020,17,3:5

6Pyrolysis behaviour and combustion kinetics of waste printed circuit boards显示文摘The effective recycling of waste printed circuit boards(WPCBs)can conserve resources and reduce environmental pollution.This study explores the pyrolysis and combustion characteristics of WPCBs in various atmospheres through thermogravimetric and Gaussian fitting analyses.Furthermore,this study analyses the pyrolysis products and combustion processes of WPCBs through thermogravimetric and Fourier transform infrared analyses(TG-FTIR)and thermogravimetry-mass spectrometry(TG-MS).Results show that the pyrolysis and combustion processes of WPCBs do not constitute a single reaction,but rather an overlap of multiple reactions.The pyrolysis and combustion process of WPCBs is divided into multiple reactions by Gaussian peak fitting.The kinetic parameters of each reaction are obtained by the Coats-Redfern method.In an argon atmosphere,pyrolysis consists of the overlap of the preliminary pyrolysis of epoxy resin,pyrolysis of small organic molecules,and pyrolysis of brominated flame retardants.The thermal decomposition process in the O_(2) atmosphere is mainly divided into two reactions:brominated flame retardant combustion and epoxy combustion.This study provided the theoretical basis for pollution control,process optimization,and reactor design of WPCBs pyrolysis.Kang Yan Chongwei Liu Liping Liu Min Xiong Jiongtong Chen Zhongtang Zhang Shuiping Zhong Zhifeng Xu Jindi Huang 2022International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2022,29,9:2
7Compound Danshen Dripping Pill inhibits hypercholesterolemia/atherosclerosis-induced heart failure in ApoE and LDLR dual deficient mice via multiple mechanisms显示文摘Heart failure is the leading cause of death worldwide.Compound Danshen Dripping Pill(CDDP)or CDDP combined with simvastatin has been widely used to treat patients with myocardial infarction and other cardiovascular diseases in China.However,the effect of CDDP on hypercholesterolemia/atherosclerosis-induced heart failure is unknown.We constructed a new model of heart failure induced by hypercholesterolemia/atherosclerosis in apolipoprotein E(ApoE)and LDL receptor(LDLR)dual deficient(ApoE^(–/–)LDLR^(–/–))mice and investigated the effect of CDDP or CDDP plus a low dose of simvastatin on the heart failure.CDDP or CDDP plus a low dose of simvastatin inhibited heart injury by multiple actions including anti-myocardial dysfunction and anti-fibrosis.Mechanistically,both Wnt and lysine-specific demethylase 4A(KDM4A)pathways were significantly activated in mice with heart injury.Conversely,CDDP or CDDP plus a low dose of simvastatin inhibited Wnt pathway by markedly up-regulating expression of Wnt inhibitors.While the anti-inflammation and anti-oxidative stress by CDDP were achieved by inhibiting KDM4A expression and activity.In addition,CDDP attenuated simvastatin-induced myolysis in skeletal muscle.Taken together,our study suggests that CDDP or CDDP plus a low dose of simvastatin can be an effective therapy to reduce hypercholesterolemia/atherosclerosis-induced heart failure.Yanfang Yang Ke Feng Liying Yuan Yuxin Liu Mengying Zhang Kaimin Guo Zequn Yin Wenjia Wang Shuiping Zhou He Sun Kaijing Yan Xijun Yan Xuerui Wang Yajun Duan Yunhui Hu Jihong Han 2023Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2023,13,3:2

15Adaptively Enhancing Facial Expression Crucial Regions via a Local Non-local Joint Network显示文摘Facial expression recognition(FER)is still challenging due to the small interclass discrepancy in facial expression data.In view of the significance of facial crucial regions for FER,many existing studies utilize the prior information from some annotated crucial points to improve the performance of FER.However,it is complicated and time-consuming to manually annotate facial crucial points,especially for vast wild expression images.Based on this,a local non-local joint network is proposed to adaptively enhance the facial crucial regions in feature learning of FER in this paper.In the proposed method,two parts are constructed based on facial local and non-local information,where an ensemble of multiple local networks is proposed to extract local features corresponding to multiple facial local regions and a non-local attention network is addressed to explore the significance of each local region.In particular,the attention weights obtained by the non-local network are fed into the local part to achieve interactive feedback between the facial global and local information.Interestingly,the non-local weights corresponding to local regions are gradually updated and higher weights are given to more crucial regions.Moreover,U-Net is employed to extract the integrated features of deep semantic information and low hierarchical detail information of expression images.Finally,experimental results illustrate that the proposed method achieves more competitive performance than several state-of-the-art methods on five benchmark datasets.Guanghui Shi Shasha Mao Shuiping Gou Dandan Yan Licheng Jiao Lin Xiong 2024Machine Intelligence Research2024,21,2:0

18VALORIZATION OF BIOGAS THROUGH SIMULTANEOUS CO_(2) AND H_(2)S REMOVAL BY RENEWABLE AQUEOUS AMMONIA SOLUTION IN MEMBRANE CONTACTOR显示文摘Upgrading biogas into biomethane not only improves the biogas utilization as vehicle fuel or natural gas substitute,but also reduces the greenhouse gases emissions.Considering the principle of engineering green energy process,the renewable aqueous ammonia(RAA)solution obtained from biogas slurry was used to remove H_(2)S and CO_(2) simultaneously in the hollow fiber membrane contactor.RAA was mimicked in this study using the ammonia aqueous solution mixed with some typical impurities including ethanol,acetic acid,propionic acid,butyric acid and NH4HCO_(3).Compared with the typical physical absorption(i.e.,pure water)removing 48%of H_(2)S from biogas,RAA with 0.1 mol·L^(−1) NH_(3) could remove 97%of H_(2)S.Increasing the NH3 concentration from 0.1 to 0.5 mol·L^(−1) could elevate the CO_(2) absorption flux from 0.97 to 1.72 mol·m^(−2)·h^(−1) by 77.3%.Among the impurities contained in RAA,ethanol has a less impact on CO_(2) absorption,while other impurities like CO_(2) and acetic acid have significant negative impacts on CO_(2) absorption.Fortunately,the impurities have a less influence on H_(2)S removal efficiency,with more than 98%of H_(2)S could be removed by RAA.Also,the influences of operating parameters on acid gases removal were investigated to provide some engineering suggestions.Tao SUN Wenlong LI Jiandong WEI Long JI Qingyao HE Shuiping YAN 2023Frontiers of Agricultural Science and Engineering2023,10,3:0
19EFFICIENT CONTAMINANT REMOVAL FROM LIQUID DIGESTATE OF PIG MANURE BY CHEMICAL PRECIPITATION AND CO_(2) MINERALIZATION USING ALKALINE ASH显示文摘Chemical precipitation is a widely applied approach for a liquid fraction of digestate(LFD)of agricultural waste but its large-scale application requires low-cost and efficient precipitating agents and novel process design.This study evaluated novel approach for the efficient removal of contaminants from the LFD using fly ash-based chemical precipitation,followed by filtration and CO_(2) mineralization.The technical feasibility of this approach was evaluated using pH and electrical conductivity(EC),and removal efficiencies of total phosphorus(TP),chemical oxygen demand(COD)and heavy metals during the treatment.The fly ash used in this study showed a promising performance as a chemical precipitation agent for COD and TP removal from the treated LFD involving complex effects of precipitation and adsorption.CO_(2) bubbling after fly ash-based chemical precipitation provided further COD and TP removal by carbonation reactions between CO_(2) and the excessive alkaline minerals in fly ash.Although addition of fly ash to untreated LFD increased pH from 8.3 to 12.9 and EC from 7.01 to 13.7 mS·cm^(−1),CO_(2) bubbling helped neutralize the treated LFD and reduce the EC,and concentrations of toxic ions by carbonation reactions.The fly ash-based chemical precipitation and CO_(2) mineralization had>93%COD and>98%TP removal efficiencies,and resulted in an EC of<2 mS·cm^(−1) and a neutral pH in the treated LFD,as well as the high purity calcite product.Zhengxin FEI Zijie DING Xuan ZHENG Liang FENG Qingyao HE Shuiping YAN Long JI 2023Frontiers of Agricultural Science and Engineering2023,10,3:0
20Research on Narrowband Line Spectrum Noise Control Method Based on Nearest Neighbor Filter and BP Neural Network Feedback Mechanism显示文摘Thefilter-x least mean square(FxLMS)algorithm is widely used in active noise control(ANC)systems.However,because the algorithm is a feedback control algorithm based on the minimization of the error signal variance to update thefilter coefficients,it has a certain delay,usually has a slow convergence speed,and the system response time is long and easily affected by the learning rate leading to the lack of system stability,which often fails to achieve the desired control effect in practice.In this paper,we propose an active control algorithm with near-est-neighbor trap structure and neural network feedback mechanism to reduce the coefficient update time of the FxLMS algorithm and use the neural network feedback mechanism to realize the parameter update,which is called NNR-BPFxLMS algorithm.In the paper,the schematic diagram of the feedback control is given,and the performance of the algorithm is analyzed.Under various noise conditions,it is shown by simulation and experiment that the NNR-BPFxLMS algorithm has the following three advantages:in terms of performance,it has higher noise reduction under the same number of sampling points,i.e.,it has faster convergence speed,and by computer simulation and sound pipe experiment,for simple ideal line spectrum noise,compared with the convergence speed of NNR-BPFxLMS is improved by more than 95%compared with FxLMS algorithm,and the convergence speed of real noise is also improved by more than 70%.In terms of stability,NNR-BPFxLMS is insensitive to step size changes.In terms of tracking performance,its algorithm responds quickly to sudden changes in the noise spectrum and can cope with the complex control requirements of sudden changes in the noise spectrum.Shuiping Zhang Xi Liang Lin Shi Lei Yan Jun Tang 2023Sound & Vibration2023,57,1:0
