Discovery of a Late Permian Angara-Cathaysia mixed flora from Acheng of Heilongjiang,China, with discussions on the closure of the Paleoasian Ocean显示文摘This work documents a new flora from the Upper Permian Hongshan Formation of Acheng County, Heilongjiang Province, Northwest China. The flora consists of 20 species: Paracalamites sp., Pecopteris tangwangheensis Huang, Callipteris obese Huang, Callipteris shenshuensis Huang, C. tangwangheensis Huang, C. heilongjiangensis Huang, C. zeilleri Zalessky, C. sp., Comia yichunensis Huang, C. tenueaxis Huang, Iniopteris sibirica Zalessky, Supaia teiliensis Huang, Compsopteris tchirkovae Zalessky, C. cf. adzvensis Zalessky, Nilssonia sp. 1, Nil. sp. 2, Taeniopteris cf. densissima Halle, T. cf. nystraemii Halle, T. sp. and Noeggerathiopsis derzavinii Neub. It is dominated by Angara species but mixed with some typical Cathaysian elements. The age of the flora is assigned to late of the Late Permian according to the stratigraphic ranges of the known species and the comparisons of it with the similar floras. The new discovery indicates that the final collision between the North China Plate and Siberian Plate occurred in Late Permian along the Xar Moron River-Changchun-Yanji sutured zone, and the Paleoasian Ocean was finally closed at the end of the Permian.DENG ShengHui1,2, WAN ChuanBiao3 & YANG JianGuo3 1 Research Institute of Petroleum Exploration and Development, PetroChina, Beijing 100083, China 2 State Key Laboratory of Enhanced Oil Recovery, Beijing 100083 China 3 Daqing Institute of Petroleum Exploration and Development, PetroChina, Daqing 164712, China 2009Science China Earth Sciences2009,52,11:22
Seismic multi-arch structures in East China显示文摘In previous papers (Wencai, 2002, 2003), the author has analyzed the deep seismic reflection profiles along some of the Mesozoic plutons in East China, and has pointed out that the crustal structures around these intrusions usually correlate with a special seismic fabric called the seismic multi-arch structure. This paper will continue to show main characteristics of the seismic multi-arch structures and discuss their relationship with mantle-origin magmatism and the lithospheric thinning process. Calibration of seismic reflectors in Chinese continental drilling sites shows that small-scale arch-like reflectors can be generated by fractured eclogites or other plutons, they do not belong to the multi-arch structure specially discussed in the paper. The multi-arch structure is char-acterized by several arch-like reflectors distributed in both the upper and lower crust with granitoid plutons or stocks exposed on the surface, which do not have obvious negative Europium anomalies. Based on the distribution pattern of arch reflectors, the multi-arch magmatic structures can be divided into three main types, namely the simple vertical combination type, the spread arch magmatic struc-ture and the arch-bouquet structure. All of them correlate to mantle-origin magmatism, but occur in different places. The spread arch magmatic structures occur within a Mesozoic/Cenozoic rift zone with very thin and hot lithosphere. The vertical combination type of the multi-arch structures occurred near the rift zones where lithosphere was thin and hot. The arch-bouquet magmatic structures occur far from the rift zones where the lithosphere is not hot. The continental rifting acted as the late episode of the lithospheric thinning process seeing that the rift zones usually coincide with the thinnest parts of the lithosphere in East China. In different locations within the lithospheric thinning areas, mantle-origin magmatic activities have different characteristics, which might generate different types of crustal structures revealed by the different types of the multi-arch magmatic structures. Therefore, high-quality deep seismic reflection profiles can be used indirectly to identify the pattern and scale of Mesozoic/Cenozoic lithospheric thinning processes and characteristics of the corresponding man-tle-origin magmatic activities.YANG Wencai1 & CHEN Zhide2 1.Institute of Geology, Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences, Beijing 100037, China 2.Daqing Institute of Petroleum Exploration and Production, Daqing 163712, China 2006Science China Earth Sciences2006,49,2:14
Linkage between permafrost distribution and river runoff changes across the Arctic and the Tibetan Plateau显示文摘River runoff in the Arctic and the Tibetan Plateau(TP) change significantly in recent decades. However, the mechanisms of the physical processes of permafrost river runoff change remain uncertain across large scale. This study investigated the mainstreams and tributaries of main Arctic and TP rivers dominated by permafrost and assessed the linkage between hydrological regime change and permafrost. The results show that the effects of permafrost on river runoff are highly dependent on the permafrost coverage of a watershed. For the past decades, the majority of the Arctic and TP basins showed increased discharge, while all of the studied basins showed increased baseflow, with faster increasing speed than total discharge. Both total discharge and baseflow annual change rate(ΔQ and ΔBF) increased with permafrost coverage, indicating the increments of streamflow are enhanced with high permafrost coverage. Meanwhile, the annual change of precipitation showed weak connection with total discharge and baseflow change. The high permafrost coverage basins showed high annual maximum/minimum discharge ratio(Qmax/Qmin), while the Qmax/Qminchanged slightly in low permafrost cover basins. Our results highlight the importance of permafrost coverage on streamflow regime change for permafrost basins across the northern hemisphere. Due to these linkage between permafrost extent and runoff regime change and the increasing changes of permafrost, more attention should be paid to the change of hydrological processes in permafrost-underlain basins.Chunlin SONG Genxu WANG Tianxu MAO Junchen DAI Daqing YANG 2020Science China Earth Sciences2020,63,2:10
Fault Systems and Their Mechanisms of the Formation and Distribution of the Tarim Basin,NW China显示文摘This article aims to analyze the main controlling factors of development, distribution and evolution of the fault systems in the Tarim Basin.Based on the seismic profile interpretation, comprehensive analysis of the drilling and geologic data, six fault systems maybe recognized in the Tarim Basin, they are the foreland fault system of the South Tianshan Mountain, the northern Tarim uplift fault system,North Tarim depression fault system, central fault system,Southwest Tarim fault system, and Southeast Tarim fault system. It is indicated that the main differences exist at the development, evolution and distribution of the fault systems in the Tarim Basin. The sub-fault systems can be recognized according to the differences of the fault development and distribution in the interior of the fault system. It is characterized that the multi-level differential development and distribution of the fault systems exist in the Tarim Basin. The fault belt developed in the Paleozoic strata mainly distribute at the paleo-uplift and paleo-slope in the interior of the Tarim Basin, and the fault belt occurred in the Meso–Cenozoic beds mainly develop at the peripheral foreland depressions.Zonal and segment differential development and distribution of the fault systems also exist in the Tarim Basin. The formation and distribution of the Tarim fault systems is of complex controlling mechanisms.Poly-phase structural movement and tectonic transition controls the multi-phase differential development and distribution of the fault systems in the Tarim Basin.Multi-level differential development and distribution is controlled by multi-level detachment belt and regional unconformities.Zonal and segment differential development and distribution of the Tarim fault systems maybe controlled by pre-existed basement structural texture. The major direction of the fault systems in the Tarim Basin is controlled by the later stage basin-mountain coupling.Liangjie Tang Taizhu Huang Haijun Qiu Guimei Wan Meng Li Yong Yang Daqing Xie Gang Chen 2014Journal of Earth Science2014,25,1:6
Corrosion protection of waterborne epoxy coatings containing mussel-inspired adhesive polymers based on polyaspartamide derivatives on carbon steel显示文摘A novel mussel-inspired adhesive polymer(PHEA-DOPA) containing the 3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine(DOPA) functional group based on polyaspartamide derivatives was synthesized. The corrosion protection of the waterborne epoxy coatings containing the adhesive polymers was investigated by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS). The results indicated that the PHEA-DOPA could improve the corrosion resistance of the waterborne epoxy coating. The corrosion products were also analyzed by Raman microspectroscopy(RM), indicating the formation of the insoluble DOPA-Fe complexes on the carbon steel surface. These complexes simultaneously acting as a passivating layer, can inhibit the process of corrosion at the metal-solution interface. The differential scanning calorimeter(DSC) measurement indicated that PHEA-DOPA can increase the crosslinking density of coating. The effect of O_2 on the protective mechanism of the PHEA-DOPA coating in a 3.5% NaCl solution was also evaluated by EIS. The results indicated that the barrier effect was significantly improved under aerated conditions because DOPA was oxidized to DOPA-quinone(Dq) by O_2, which triggered the reaction with Fe ions that were released from the surface of the carbon steel. This led to more compact coatings.Mingliang Yang Jianhua Wu Daqing Fang Bo Li Yang Yang 2018Journal of Materials Science & Technology2018,34,12:4
Inhibiting Hv1 channel in peripheral sensory neurons attenuates chronic inflammatory pain and opioid side effects显示文摘Both opioids and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs(NSAIDS)produce deleterious side effects and fail to provide sustained relief in patients with chronic inflammatory pain.Peripheral neuroinflammation(PN)is critical for initiation and development of inflammatory pain.A better understanding of molecular mechanisms underlying PN would facilitate the discovery of new analgesic targets and the development of new therapeutics.Emerging evidence suggests that peripheral sensory neurons are not only responders to painful stimuli, but are also actively engaged in inflammation and immunity, whereas the intrinsic regulatory mechanism is poorly understood. Here we report the expression of proton-selective ion channel Hv1 in peripheral sensory neurons in rodents and humans, which was previously shown as selectively expressed in microglia in mammalian central nervous system.Neuronal Hv1 was up-regulated by PN or depolarizing stimulation, which in turn aggravates inflammation and nociception.Inhibiting neuronal Hv1 genetically or by a newly discovered selective inhibitor YHV98-4 reduced intracellular alkalization and ROS production in inflammatory pain, mitigated the imbalance in downstream SHP-1-pAKT signaling, and also diminished pro-inflammatory chemokine release to alleviate nociception and morphine-induced hyperalgesia and tolerance. Thus, our data reveal neuronal Hv1 as a novel target in analgesia strategy and managing opioids-related side effects.Qiansen Zhang Yimin Ren Yiqing Mo Peipei Guo Ping Liao Yuncheng Luo Jie Mu Zhuo Chen Yang Zhang Ya Li Linghui Yang Daqing Liao Jie Fu Juwen Shen Wei Huang Xuewen Xu Yanyan Guo Lianghe Mei Yunxia Zuo Jin Liu Huaiyu Yang Ruotian Jiang 2022Cell Research2022,32,5:3
Stochastic fluctuations of permittivity coupling regulate seizure dynamics in partial epilepsy显示文摘Partial epilepsy is characterized by recurrent seizures that arise from a localized pathological brain region. During the onset of partial epilepsy, the seizure evolution commonly exhibits typical timescale separation phenomenon. This timescale separation behavior can be mimicked by a paradigmatic model termed as Epileptor, which consists of coupled fast-slow neural populations via a permittivity variable. By incorporating permittivity noise into the Epileptor model, we show here that stochastic fluctuations of permittivity coupling participate in the modulation of seizure dynamics in partial epilepsy. In particular, introducing a certain level of permittivity noise can make the model produce more comparable seizure-like events that capture the temporal variability in realistic partial seizures. Furthermore, we observe that with the help of permittivity noise our stochastic Epileptor model can trigger the seizure dynamics even when it operates in the theoretical nonepileptogenic regime. These findings establish a deep mechanistic understanding on how stochastic fluctuations of permittivity coupling shape the seizure dynamics in partial epilepsy, and provide insightful biological implications.GUO DaQing XIA Chuan WU ShengDun ZHANG TianJiao ZHANG YangSong XIA Yang YAO DeZhong 2017Science China(Technological Sciences)2017,60,7:3
Salt-related structure and deformation mechanism of the Middle-Lower Cambrian in the middle-west parts of the Central Uplift and adjacent areas of the Tarim Basin显示文摘The salt beds of the Middle-Lower Cambrian are widespread in the middle-west parts of the Central Uplift and adjacent areas, the Tarim Basin. This paper presents the results of seismic interpretation and drilling data analysis, which discovered that the salt beds were formed in an old geologic age, deeply buried, with relatively small scaled flowing and gathering and uneven distribution. As the regional detachment layers, the salt sequences considerably control the structural deformation of the up-salt Paleozoic, forming a series of hydrocarbon traps. In due course, the salt beds of the Middle-Lower Cambrian provide excellent cap rocks and trap conditions; thus the value of exploring hydrocabon reservoir in the target strata of the sub-salt Sinian- Cambrian is greatly increased. Research has shown that the salt-related structures of the Middle-Lower Cambrian in the area mainly exist in the form of salt pillow, salt roller, up-salt anticline, salt diapir, assemblage of the salt arch and up-salt fault-block, assemblage of basement fault and salt anticline, assemblage of the basement fault-block and salt dome, assemblage of salt detachment and fault-related fold, and assemblage of basement fault-block, salt arch and up-salt imbricated thrusts. The evolution and deformation mechanisms of the salt-related structures are controlled largely by basement faulting, compressional shortening, plastic flowing and gathering, superstratum gravitation, and up-salt faulting and detaching. They are distributed in rows or belts along basement faults or fault block belts.TANG LiangJie HUANG TaiZhu QIU HaiJun QI LiXin YANG Yong XIE DaQing YU YiXin ZHAO Zhao CHEN ShuPing 2012Science China Earth Sciences2012,55,7:3
Recent advances in precipitation-bias correction and application显示文摘Significant progresses have been made in recent years in precipitation data analyses at regional to global scales. This paper re-views and synthesizes recent advances in precipitation-bias corrections and applications in many countries and over the cold re-gions. The main objective of this review is to identify and examine gaps in regional and national precipitation-error analyses. This paper also discusses and recommends future research needs and directions. More effort and coordination are necessary in the determinations of precipitation biases on large regions across national borders. It is important to emphasize that bias cor-rections of precipitation measurements affect both water budget and energy balance calculations, particularly over the cold regions.DaQing Yang 1, NingLian Wang 2, BaiSheng Ye 2, LiJuan Ma 3 1. 10Permafrost dynamics and their hydrologic impacts over the Russian Arctic drainage basin显示文摘Permafrost is an important component in hydrological processes because changes in runoff over the Arctic drainage basin cannot be well explained by changes in precipitation-related variables. However, current understanding of the influences of permafrost on hydrological dy-namics is insufficient. This study investigated historical variations in permafrost conditions and their potential hydrologic effects over the Russian Arctic drainage basin. The results show that soil temperature(at 0.40 m below surface)has increased about 1.4℃over the Ob,1.5℃over the Yenisei, and 1.8℃over the Lena River basin from 1936 through 2013,possibly resulted in a significant thawing of permafrost.Rapid active layer changes have occurred since the 1970s.The volume of the active layer increased by 28,142,and 228 km3 over the Ob,Yenisei, and Lena basins, respectively, since the 1970s.Melting ground ice caused by deepening active layer may be a limited contribution to annual runoff.Runoff during freeze season(October--April)showed significant positive correlations(p<0.05)to active layer thickness in the Yenisei and Lena basins while negative correlation(p>0.05)in the Ob basin. These results imply that,in basins with high permafrost coverage,a deeper active layer increased soil water storage capacity and perhaps contribute to an increase in winter runoff.WANG Kang ZHANG Tingjun Daqing YANG 2021Advances in Climate Change Research2021,12,4:3

Tocilizumab in patients with moderate or severe COVID-19: a randomized, controlled, open-label, multicenter trial显示文摘Tocilizumab has been reported to attenuate the“cytokine storm”in COVID-19 patients. We attempted to verify the effectiveness and safety of tocilizumab therapy in COVID-19 and identify patients most likely to benefit from this treatment. We conducted a randomized,controlled,open-label multicenter trial among COVID-19 patients. The patients were randomly assigned in a 1:1 ratio to receive either tocilizumab in addition to standard care or standard care alone. The cure rate, changes of oxygen saturation and interference, and inflammation biomarkers were observed.Thirty-three patients were randomized to the tocilizumab group, and 32 patients to the control group. The cure rate in the tocilizumab group was higher than that in the control group, but the difference was not statistically significant(94.12%vs.87.10%,rate difference 95%CI−7.19%–21.23%,P=0.4133).The improvement in hypoxia for the tocilizumab group was higher from day 4 onward and statistically significant from day 12(P=0.0359).In moderate disease patients with bilateral pulmonary lesions, the hypoxia ameliorated earlier after tocilizumab treatment, and less patients(1/12,8.33%)needed an increase of inhaled oxygen concentration compared with the controls(4/6,66.67%;rate difference 95%CI−99.17%to−17.50%,P=0.0217).No severe adverse events occurred.More mild temporary adverse events were recorded in tocilizumab recipients(20/34,58.82%)than the controls(4/31,12.90%).Tocilizumab can improve hypoxia without unacceptable side effect profile and significant influences on the time virus load becomes negative. For patients with bilateral pulmonary lesions and elevated IL-6 levels, tocilizumab could be recommended to improve outcome.Dongsheng Wang Binqing Fu Zhen Peng Dongliang Yang Mingfeng Han Min Li Yun Yang Tianjun Yang Liangye Sun Wei Li Wei Shi Xin Yao Yan Ma Fei Xu Xiaojing Wang Jun Chen Daqing Xia Yubei Sun Lin Dong Jumei Wang Xiaoyu Zhu Min Zhang Yonggang Zhou Aijun Pan Xiaowen Hu Xiaodong Mei Haiming Wei Xiaoling Xu 2021Frontiers of Medicine2021,15,3:2

Standardization of tritiated water by the CIEMAT/NIST and TDCR methods显示文摘The activity of tritiated water has been standardized by two liquid scintillation counting methods:The CIEMAT/NIST method with the54Mn-standard efficiency tracing and the triple-to-double coincidence ratio(TDCR)method. The samples were prepared with Ultima Gold TM AB liquid scintillation cocktail in low-potassium glass vials. In the application of the CIEMAT/NIST method, the computer program EMILIA was used to calculate the efficiency of3H and54Mn according to the KL1L2L3M atomic rearrangement model. And the detection efficiency of the TDCR counter was calculated using TDCR07 code, which makes it possible to allow for the potential asymmetry between the three photomultiplier tubes. The influence of stopping power and k B factor is discussed in the paper. When a power approach is adopted for the stopping power for electrons below 1ke V and k B is chosen to be 0.0075 cm/Me V,the relative deviation will be only 0.3%between the two methods.WU YongLe LIU HaoRan LIANG JunCheng LIU JiaCheng XIONG WenJun YUE HuiGuo LIU SenLin YANG YuanDi YUAN DaQing 2015Science China(Technological Sciences)2015,58,3:1
