| 1 | Soil pH impact on microbial tetraether lipids and terrestrial input index (BIT) in China显示文摘The distributions of microbial tetraether lipids i.e. glycerol dialkyl glycerol tetraethers (GDGTs) were investigated in a variety of Chinese soils featured by a wide range of pH values in different climate zones. The bacterial branched GDGTs and archaeal isoprenoid GDGTs were found to be widely distributed in Chinese soils and their relative abundance was controlled primarily by soil pH. The bacterial bGDGTs usually dominate over archaeal iGDGTs in abundance when the soil pH is below 8.0. However archaeal iGDGTs become dominant and the abundance of halophilic archaea characterized by GDGT V without cyclopentyl ring increases dramatically in the alkaline soil with pH greater than 8.0. The relative abundance of archaeal iGDGTs to bacterial bGDGTs was defined here as RAI index. The RAI index decreases with elevated soil pH and a linear correlation is found between them indicating that the relative abundance of archaeal iGDGTs to bacterial bGDGTs increases with increased pH. The RAI index thus could be a novel proxy of the pH values of paleosol. The terrestrial input index BIT (Branched and Isoprenoid Tetraethers Index) decreases with increased soil pH suggesting that soil pH should be taken into consideration when the terrestrial contribution to marine sediments is estimated by BIT index. | 2 | Structure of a Bioactive Fructan from the Root of Cyathula officinalis显示文摘The structure of a bioactive fructan RCP isolated from the traditional Chinese medicinal herb Cyathula officinalis Kuan was determined by NMR, methylation, reductive-cleavage and GC-MS analyses. It was a highly branched fructan possessing a (2→1)-linked β-D-fructofuranosyl (Fruf) backbone with (2→6)-linked β-D-Fruf side chains, belonging to neokestose family. Of the 93.17% β-D-Fruf residues, 24.15% was terminal, 26.24% was 1-linked, 20.46% was 6-linked, and 22.32% was 1,6-linked. Of the 6.83% α-D-glucopyranosyl (Glcp) residues, 2.14% was terminal and 4.69% was 6-linked. | 3 | Determination of trophic relationships within a Bohai Bay food web using stable δ^(15)N and δ^(13)C analysis显示文摘This study measured stable carbon and nitro- gen isotope ratios in phytoplankton, zooplankton, five inver- tebrates species, eight fishes species and three seabirds spe- cies collected in Bohai Bay. δ 13C ranged from ?25.38‰ to ?11.08‰ showing a relative low enrichment in the food web from Bohai Bay. The mean δ 13C of mullet is higher than that of other organisms, and this might be due to that mullet is migration fish and feeds mainly on inshore sources. δ 15N ranged from 4.08‰ to 13.98‰, and showed a step-wise en- richment with trophic level of 3.8‰. The δ 15N enrichment factor was used to construct an isotopic food web model to establish trophic relationships within this marine food web. | 4 | Evaluation of virus removal in MBR using coliphages T4显示文摘A membrane bioreactor (MBR) with gravity drain was tested for domestic wastewater for 65 days. Results showed that the effluent quality was excellent, and met with the reuse water standard of China (GB/T 18920-2002). Virus removal in the membrane separation process was investi- gated by employing coliphages T4 as a tracer. Two microfil- tration membrane modules, with pore sizes of 0.22 and 0.1 μm, were used to investigate their effects on virus rejection at the transmembrane pressure of 8.5 kPa. It was found that 0.1 μm membrane had complete rejection of virus, and 0.22 μm membrane had significant rejection of virus. In the long- term operation of this MBR, no significant difference was observed between both pore sizes because the virus concen- trations of the effluent in both cases were in the same order. Effluent virus concentration at steady state of MBR running was less than 2 PFU/mL. The removal ratios of coliphage T4 in MF processes were more than 105.5. The membrane sur- face deposits played an important role in the rejection of virus. | 8 | Effect of Temperature and Ram Speed on Isothermal Extrusion for Large-size Tube with Piece-wing显示文摘Heat energy change during the extrusion of 7075 aluminium alloy large-size tube with piece-wing in a container was analyzed. Extrusion load vs ram displacement diagrams and exit temperature vs ram displacement diagrams at various speeds were obtained by 3D FEM simulation. Results show that the exit temperature becomes higher as the ram speed and displacement increase. For large-size tube with piece-wing, there is certainly a curve of ram speed decreasing with increasing ram displacement, which enables isothermal extrusion to be achieved. Therefore,an attempt was made to divide the working stroke into five different zones. Each of them has a preset speed that decreases from the ram displacement beginning to the ending. And then, new exit temperature vs ram displacement diagram was obtained by 3D FEM simulation for the five different speeds. It is shown that the variation of exit temperature is very small. Through the above research, a basic method for realizing isothermal extrusion of 7075large-size tube with piece-wing was obtained, that is, the working stroke was divided into several different zones with a decreasing speed during extrusion, each zones' speed was real-time adjusted on the feedback signal of exit temperature by proportional hydraulic valve through closed-loop control. The engineering experiment verification was carried out on 100 MN aluminium extrusion press with oil-driven double action. The experimental results of the exit temperature agrees with the simulation ones. The achievements of this study may serve as a significant guide to the practice of the relevant processes, particularly for isothermal extrusion. | 10 | Tuning F-doped degree of rGO:Restraining corrosion-promotion activity of EP/rGO nanocomposite coating显示文摘Given that graphene features high electrical conductivity,it is a kind of material with corrosion-promotion activity.This study aimed to inhibit the corrosion-promotion activity of graphene in coatings.Here,we report an exciting application of epoxy matrix(EP)/F-doped reduced graphene oxide(rGO)coatings for the long-term corrosion protection of steel.The synthesized F-doped rGO(FG)did not reduce the utilization of rGO by a wide margin and possessed distinctive electrically insulating nature.The electrical conductivity of rGO was approximately 1500 S/m,whereas those of FG-1,FG-2 and FG-3 were 1.17,5.217×10^−2 and 3.643×10^-11 S/m,respectively.FG and rGO were then dispersed into epoxy coatings.The chemical structures of rGO and FG were investigated by transmission electron microscopy(TEM),scanning probe microscopy(SPM),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),and X-ray diffraction(XRD).EP/FG coatings exhibited outstanding corrosion protection in comparison with blank EP and EP/rGO coatings mainly because the corrosion-promotion effect of rGO was eliminated.The anticorrosion ability of EP/FG coatingswasimproved with increased F-doped degree of FG.In addition,electrochemical impendance spectroscopy(EIS)results indicated that the Rc values of EP/FG-2 and EP/FG-3 were four orders of magnitude higher than those of EP/rGO in diluent NaCl solution(3.5 wt.%)after immersion for 90 days. | Lu Shen Yong Li Wenjie Zhao Kui Wang Xiaojing Ci Yangmin Wu Gang Liu Chao Liu Zhiwen Fang | 2020 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020,44,9: | 5 |

| 12 | How the fluorographene replaced graphene as nanoadditive for improving tribological performances of GTL-8 based lubricant oil显示文摘Fluorographene,a new alternative to graphene,it not only inherits the 2-dimensional(2D)layered structure and outstanding mechanical properties,but also possesses controllable C-F bonds.It is meaningful to reveal the evolution processes of the tribological behaviors from graphene to fluorographene.In this work,fluorinated reduced graphene oxide nanosheets(F-rGO)with different degree of fluorination were prepared using direct gas-fluorination and they were added into gas to liquid-8(GTL-8)base oil as lubricant additive to improve the tribological performance.According to the results,the coefficient of friction(COF)reduced by 21%,notably,the wear rate reduced by 87%with the addition of highly fluorinated reduced graphene oxide(HF-rGO)compared with rGO.It was confirmed that more covalent C-F bonds which improved the chemical stability of HF-rGO resisted the detachment of fluorine so the HF-rGO nanosheets showed less damage,as demonstrated via X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),Raman spectra,and transmission electron microscopy(TEM).Meanwhile,the ionic liquid(IL)adsorbed on HF-rGO successfully improved the dispersibility of F-rGO in GTL-8 base oil.The investigation of tribofilm by TEM and focused ion beam(FIB)illustrated that IL displayed a synergy to participate in the tribochemical reaction and increased the thickness of tribofilm during the friction process. | Xiaojing CI Wenjie ZHAO Jun LUO Yangmin WU Tianhao GE Qunji XUE Xiulei GAO Zhiwen FANG | 2021 | Friction2021,9,3: | 4 |
