| 1 | Association of assisted reproductive technology, germline de novo mutations and congenital heart defects in a prospective birth cohort study显示文摘Emerging evidence suggests that children conceived through assisted reproductive technology(ART)have a higher risk of congenital heart defects(CHDs)even when there is no family history.De novo mutation(DNM)is a well-known cause of sporadic congenital diseases;however,whether ART procedures increase the number of germline DNM(gDNM)has not yet been well studied.Here,we performed whole-genome sequencing of 1137 individuals from 160 families conceived through ART and 205 families conceived spontaneously.Children conceived via ART carried 4.59 more gDNMs than children conceived spontaneously,including 332 paternal and 1.26 maternal DNMs,after correcting for parental age at conception,cigarette smoking,alcohol drinking,and exercise behaviors.Paternal DNMs in offspring conceived via ART are characterized by C>T substitutions at CpG sites,which potentially affect protein-coding genes and are significantly associated with the increased risk of CHD.In addition,the accumulation of non-coding functional mutations was independently associated with CHD and 87.9% of the mutations were originated from the father.Among ART offspring,infertility of the father was associated with elevated paternal DNMs;usage of both recombinant and urinary follicle-stimulating hormone and high-dosage human chorionic gonadotropin trigger was associated with an increase of maternal DNMs.In sum,the increased gDNMs in offspring conceived by ART were primarily originated from fathers,indicating that ART itself may not be a major reason for the accumulation of gDNMs.Our findings emphasize the importance of evaluating the germline status of the fathers in families with the use of ART. | Cheng Wang Hong Lv Xiufeng Ling Hong Li Feiyang Diao Juncheng Dai Jiangbo Du Ting Chen Qi Xi Yang Zhao Kun Zhou Bo Xu Xiumei Han Xiaoyu Liu Meijuan Peng Congcong Chen Shiyao Tao Lei Huang Cong Liu Mingyang Wen Yangqian Jiang Tao Jiang Chuncheng Lu Wei Wu Di Wu Minjian Chen Yuan Lin Xuejiang Guo Ran Huo Jiayin Liu Hongxia Ma Guangfu Jin Yankai Xia Jiahao Sha Hongbing Shen Zhibin Hu | 2021 | Cell Research2021,31,8: | 2 |
| 2 | Linking key intervention timings to rapid declining effective reproduction number to quantify lessons against COVID-19显示文摘Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)is currently under a global pandemic trend.The efficiency of containment measures and epidemic tendency of typical countries should be assessed.In this study,the efficiency of prevention and control measures in China,Italy,Iran,South Korea,and Japan was assessed,and the COVID-19 epidemic tendency among these countries was compared.Results showed that the effective reproduction number(Re)in Wuhan,China increased almost exponentially,reaching a maximum of 3.98 before a lockdown and rapidly decreased to below 1 due to containment and mitigation strategies of the Chinese government.The Re in Italy declined at a slower pace than that in China after the implementation of prevention and control measures.The Re in Iran showed a certain decline after the establishment of a national epidemic control command,and an evident stationary phase occurred because the best window period for the prevention and control of the epidemic was missed.The epidemic in Japan and South Korea reoccurred several times with the Re fluctuating greatly.The epidemic has hardly rebounded in China due to the implementation of prevention and control strategies and the effective enforcement of policies.Other countries suffering from the epidemic could learn from the Chinese experience in containing COVID-19. | Zhihang Peng Wenyu Song Zhongxing Ding Quanquan Guan Xu Yang Qiaoqiao Xu Xu Wang Yankai Xia | 2020 | Frontiers of Medicine2020,14,5: | 2 |
| 3 | Experimental study on filtering mixed solid-liquid dust with a sliding granular bed filter显示文摘The filtration of mixed dust that included a small number of melted(liquid)particles was studied in an experimental granular bed filter(GBF).Results show that the collection efficiency of dust containing melted particles is higher than that of dust composed of solid particles but the pressure drop from the former is higher than that of the latter.The collection efficiency and pressure drop increase as the concentration of melted particles increases.A surface sliding GBF exhibits good comprehensive performance when filtering dust,especially dust containing a mix of solid and liquid particles.The effects of the gas temperature,gas velocity,sliding filter bed thickness,and sliding collector flux on filter performance were also examined.Based on the experimental results,correlations for the collection efficiency and pressure drop for mixed dust are presented. | Yankai Peng Chuanping Liu Li Wang Shaowu Yin Lige Tong Zeyi Jiang | 2021 | Particuology2021,19,5: | 1 |

| 5 | Investigation of the Mechanism of Grout Penetration in Intersected Fractures显示文摘To study the penetration mechanism of cement-based slurry in intersected fractures during grouting and the related pressure distribution,we have used two different variants of cement,namely,basic cement slurry and fast-setting cement slurry.The influence of a retarder,time-varying viscosity,fracture width and location of injection hole is also considered.A finite element software is used to implement two and three-dimensional numerical models for grouting of intersected fractures in hydrostatic conditions.Results show that there are significant differences in the diffusion morphology and pressure distribution depending on the considered cement slurry.Retarder can effectively slow down the rising rate of injection pressure and extend the diffusion distance of grout.The influence of the branch fracture is more important when basic cement slurry is considered,indicating that the change of grout pressure is correlated with the slurry viscosity.The faster the viscosity increases,the less evident is the effect. | Yanxu Guo Peng Zhao Qingsong Zhang Rentai Liu Lianzhen Zhang Yankai Liu | 2019 | Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing2019,15,4: | 1 |
