1MicroRNA-21 in the pathogenesis of acute kidney injury显示文摘Acute kidney injury(AKI),associated with significant mor-bidity and mortality,is widely known to involve epithelial apoptosis,excessive inflammation,and fibrosis in re-sponse to ischemia or reperfusion injury,which results in either chronic pathological changes or death.Therefore,it is imperative that investigations are conducted in order to fi nd effective,early diagnoses,and therapeutic targets needed to help prevent and treat AKI.However,the mech-anisms modulating the pathogenesis of AKI still remain largely undetermined.MicroRNAs(miRNAs),small non-coding RNA molecules,play an important role in several fundamental biological and pathological processes by a post transcriptional regulatory function of gene expres-sion.MicroRNA-21(miR-21)is a recently identifi ed,typi-cal miRNA that is functional as a regulator known to be involved in apoptosis as well as inflammatory and fi brotic signaling pathways in AKI.As a result,miR-21 is now considered a novel biomarker when diagnosing and treat-ing AKI.This article reviews the correlative literature and research progress regarding the roles of miR-21 in AKI.Ya-Feng Li Ying Jing Jielu Hao Nathan C Frankfort Xiaoshuang Zhou Bing Shen Xinyan Liu Lihua Wang Rongshan Li 2013Protein & Cell2013,4,11:18
2武夷山脉南北蕨类植物生物多样性研究显示文摘从植物区系、生物多样性容量、通量和质量等方面比较了武夷山脉从南到北梁野山、闽江源、武夷山3个国家级自然保护区中蕨类植物的生物多样性.结果表明,在武夷山脉由南到北,蕨类植物的热带性成分趋于递减,北温带分布及其变型、东亚分布及其变型递增.由物种数及丰富度指数DGl可以得出,武夷山自然保护区蕨类植物生物多样性容量最大.连通性方面,武夷山脉不同的保护区间物种水平的相似性不到55%,而从武夷山脉南段至中段、中段至北段,种的β多样性指数βL值都达到30%,这两点说明武夷山脉是蕨类植物的现代分化中心之一.通过考察Cody指数βC发现,中段的闽江源自然保护区是武夷山脉的重要节点.虽然流通率表明武夷山脉蕨类植物的连通性较强,但在物种水平上,更替值在南段到中段、中段到北段均超过30%,因此有必要进一步在保护区之间建立与建设供动植物物种迁移的生态廊道.由于保存了较多的蕨类植物模式标本种和局域种,在充分考虑物种权值的前提下,武夷山自然保护区的蕨类植物生物多样性质量指数值达764,因此其多样性质量最高.研究结果可以为保护区群网的建设提供理论依据.叶文 李振基 BENITO C Tan CHANG Ying 陈鹭真 何建源 刘初钿 2007厦门大学学报(自然科学版)2007,46,3:9
3Recent upper gastrointestinal panendoscopy increases the risk of pyogenic liver abscess显示文摘AIM To investigate the association between a recent gastrointestinal(GI) endoscopy and the subsequent risk of pyogenic liver abscess(PLA).METHODS We designed a nested case control study. Using the Taiwan National Health Insurance Research Database, 2135 patients with a first diagnosis of PLA were identified from 1998 to 2011. Another 10675 patients without PLA matched by age and sex were selected as reference controls. We identified and compared the possible risk factors for PLA and GI endoscopies performed before the index date(when PLA was diagnosed) between the two cohorts. Multivariate analysis was conducted to examine the risk of PLA within the 90 d after the GI endoscopies.RESULTS Patients with a history of diabetes [adjusted odds ratio(a OR) = 4.92, 95%CI: 1.78-13.61], end-stage renal disease(a OR = 3.98, 95%CI: 1.45-10.91), biliary tract infection(a OR = 2.68, 95%CI: 2.11-3.40), liver cirrhosis(a OR = 2.19, 95%CI: 1.39-3.46), GI malignancies(a OR = 5.68, 95%CI: 4.23-7.64), appendicitis(a OR = 3.16, 95%CI: 2.27-4.41), diverticulitis(a OR = 1.64, 95%CI: 1.01-2.64), and recent endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography(a OR = 27.04, 95%CI: 11.65-62.72) were significantly associated with an increased risk of PLA. After adjusting for the above risk factors and the frequency of outpatient department visits and abdominal ultrasounds during 90 d before the index date, an upper GI panendoscopy(a OR = 2.75, 95%CI: 2.05-3.69) but not a lower GI endoscopy(a OR = 1.07, 95%CI: 0.62-1.86) was significantly associated with PLA.CONCLUSION An upper GI panendoscopy performed before 90 d may increase the risk of PLA.Ming-Jen Tsai Chin-Li Lu Ying C Huang Chung Hsien Liu Wan-Ting Huang Kai-Yuan Cheng Solomon Chih-Cheng Chen 2017World Journal of Gastroenterology2017,23,16:8

6Hematopoietic stem cell-derived adipocytes and fibroblasts in the tumor microenvironment显示文摘The tumor microenvironment(TME) is complex and constantly evolving. This is due, in part, to the crosstalk between tumor cells and the multiple cell types that comprise the TME, which results in a heterogeneous population of tumor cells and TME cells. This review will focus on two stromal cell types, the cancerassociated adipocyte(CAA) and the cancer-associated fibroblast(CAF). In the clinic, the presence of CAAs and CAFs in the TME translates to poor prognosis in multiple tumor types. CAAs and CAFs have an activated phenotype and produce growth factors, inflammatory factors, cytokines, chemokines, extracellular matrix components, and proteases in an accelerated and aberrant fashion. Through this activated state, CAAs and CAFs remodel the TME, thereby driving all aspects of tumor progression, including tumor growth and survival, chemoresistance, tumor vascularization, tumor invasion, and tumor cell metastasis. Similarities in the tumorpromoting functions of CAAs and CAFs suggest that a multipronged therapeutic approach may be necessary to achieve maximal impact on disease. While CAAs and CAFs are thought to arise from tissues adjacent to the tumor, multiple alternative origins for CAAs and CAFs have recently been identified. Recent studies from our lab and others suggest that the hematopoietic stem cell, through the myeloid lineage, may serve as a progenitor for CAAs and CAFs. We hypothesize that the multiple origins of CAAs and CAFs may contribute to the heterogeneity seen in the TME. 8Biosynthesis of Unsaturated Fatty Acids via Mortierella Isabellina Cultivated in a Medium Containing Butanol显示文摘Mortierella isabellina was found to accumulate large amounts of unsaturated fatty acids when it was grown in a medium containing butanol(5 g/L) and yeast extract(10 g/L) and cultivated at 25 ℃ for 5 d during which additional feeding butanol of 2 g/L was fed after being cultivated for 48 h . The resultant mycelial lipids accounted for 40 1% of the dry mycelia, while about 34% of butanol in the medium was converted. The mycelial lipids contained four kinds of unsaturated fatty acids, i.e ., palmitoleic(4 9%), oleic(54 1%), linoleic(10 4%) and linolenic(5 4%) acids. Those accounted for 74 8% of the total fatty acids.
