| 1 | The five major autoimmune diseases increase the risk of cancer:epidemiological data froma large-scale cohort study in China显示文摘Background:Cancer incidence and mortality have received critical attention during the long-term management of morbidities in patients with autoimmune diseases(AIDs).This study aimed to investigate and compare the risk of cancer associated with five major AIDs in a large-scale Chinese cohort.Methods:A total of 8,120 AID patients consecutively admitted to a national tertiary referral center in China were included and followed-up for 38,726.55 patient-years,including those with systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE),rheumatoid arthritis(RA),Sjoren’s syndrome(SS),systemic scleroderma(SSc),and idiopathic inflammatory myositis(IIM).Demographic data,cancer incidence,predilecting sites and cancer onset time were recorded and compared among the five AIDs.Results:Four hundred and thirty(5.3%)patients developed cancer.Their median agewas 57.5 years and AID durationwas 79.8 months.The estimated total standardized incidence ratio(SIR)of cancer in AIDs patients was 3.37,with the highest SIR observed in IIM(4.31),followed by RA(3.99),SSc(3.77),SS(2.88)and SLE(2.58).The increased SIR of cancers in AID patients showed a female predominance(female vs.male:3.59 vs.2.77)and younger patient involvement(age<50 vs.≥50 years:4.88 vs.3.04).Patientswith SLE had increased SIRs for developing hematologic malignancies and solid tumors located in the urinary bladder,corpus uteri and cervix uteri.Patients with SS had a significantly high SIR for developing non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.Within 3 years of IIM diagnosis,74.6%of the patients developed cancer and they had a high risk of ovarian cancer.RA was associated with a wide distribution of scancers,including non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma,gynecologic,urinary tract,thyroid gland and lung cancers.SSc patients had increased SIRs for developing cervical uterine,lung,and breast cancers.Conclusion:Patients with five major AIDs in China had an increased risk of developing cancer,with a predominance in women and younger patients,although cancer incidence,predilection sites and cancer onset time may vary greatly in each AID entity. | Ziyue Zhou Huazhen Liu Yiying Yang Jingya Zhou Lidan Zhao Hua Chen Yunyun Fei Wen Zhang Mengtao Li Yan Zhao Xiaofeng Zeng Fengchun Zhang Huaxia Yang Xuan Zhang | 2022 | Cancer Communications2022,42,5: | 4 |
| 2 | High performance liquid chromatographic separation of eight drugs collected in Chinese Pharmacopoeia 2010 on amylose ramification chiral stationary phase显示文摘The enantiomers separation of ei ght pharmaceutical racemates collected in Chinese Pharmacopoeia 2010(Ch.P2010),including nitrendipine,felodipine,omeprazole,praziquantel,sulpiride,clenbuterol hydrochloride,verapamil hydrochloride and chlorphenamine maleate,was performed on chiral stationary phase of amylose ramification by high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC)on Chiralpak AD-H column and Chiralpak AS-H column with the mobile phase consisted of isopropanol and n-hexane.The detection wavelength and the flow rate were set at 254 nm and 0.7 mL/min,respectively.The effects of proportion of organic additives,alcohol displacer and temperature on the separation were investigated.The results indicated that eight chiral drugs were separated on chiral stationary phase of amylase ramification in normal phase chroma tographic system.The chromatographic retention and resolution of enantiomers were adjusted by factors,including the changes of the concentration of alcohol displacer in mobile phase,organic alkaline modifier and column temperature.It was shown that the resolution was improved with reducing concentration of alcohol displacer.When the concentration of organic alkaline modifier was 0.2%,the resolution and the peak shape were fairly good.Most racemates mentioned above had the best resolution at column temperature of 25℃.The best temperature should be kept unchanged in the process of separation so as to obtain stable separation results. | Yan Wang Ying Zhou Chao Ma Beibei Yang Ru Feng Yiying Zhang Jie Fu Wenjing Chen Yupeng Sun Jingyi Ma Qiming Zhang Yulin Deng Yukui Zhang Wenyi He | 2012 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2012,2,5: | 3 |
| 3 | Effect of aqueous extract of Sanweitanxiang powder on calcium homeostasis protein expression in ischemic-reperfusion injury rat heart显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the underlying mechanism of reduced myocardial ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury in rats using the traditionalTibetan medicine Sanweitanxiang powder (SWTX). METHODS: Rats were randomly divided into six groups (n=10) as follows: (a) propranolol dinitrate control group, given propranolol dinitrate 0.02 g/kg for 10 days before I/R, (b) SWTX with a high dose group, given SWTX 1.5 g/kg for 10 days before I/R, (c) SWTX with a medium dose group, given SWTX 1.25 g/kg for 10 days before I/R, (d) sham group (Sham), in which the rat heart was exposed by pericardiotomy but without I/R, (e) SWTX with a low dose group, given SWTX 1.0 g/kg for 10 days before I/R, and (f) I/R injury group. Rats were intragastrically pretreated with propranolol dinitrate orSWTX. After that, the operation to cause ischemia and reperfusion was conducted.The histopathologic changes of rat hearts were observed by hematoxylin and eosin staining and transmission electron microscopy. Ca2+ homeostasis protein expression was determined by western blot. RESULTS: After SWTX pretreatment, the development of ultrastructural pathological changes from IR injury was attenuated. A decrease in the expression of B-cell lymphoma 2 associated X protein, and an increase in the expression of B-cell lymphoma 2 were observed. An increased activation of extracellular signal regulated kinases were found. Compared with the sham group, the expression of sarcoplasmic reticulum calcium-ATPase, phospholamban, and calsequestrin were all up-regulated after pretreatment with SWTX. | 4 | Effect of the electro-acupuncture on senile plaques and its formation in APPD/PS1D double transgenic mice显示文摘Alzheimer’s disease(AD)is a progressive neurodegenerative disease and its incidence will increase with age and is aggravating.The senile plaques(SPs)are one of three main pathological features in AD patients,which are formed by amyloid b-protein(Ab)overaccumulation.b-amyloid precursor protein(APP),b-site APP cleavage(BACE1),and insulin degrading enzyme(IDE)proteins participate in the process of Ab production and degradation.At present,the pathogenesis of AD is not yet clear and the current treatment methods can only relief the related symptoms of AD.The electro-acupuncture(EA)is a traditional Chinese medicine treatment combined the acupuncture and electrical stimulation and the treatment effect can also be controlled by transform the electrical frequency.Thus,in this experiment,we carried out behavioral test,immunohistochemistry(IHC),and Western Blot(WB)after different period treatments to the model mice by electro-acupuncturing“Baihui”and“Shenshu”acupoints in APPt/PS1t double transgenic mice.It was found that the EA therapy can improve the ability of learning,memory and spatial exploration,and reduce the deposition of SPs in brain of AD model mice,and reduce the expressions of APP and BACE1,increase the expression of IDE protein.These results prompt that EA can effectively alleviate the pathological process of AD.We speculate that EA may play a comprehensive role in preventing the development of AD,considering the previous data. | Qinghua Yang Shujuan Zhu Jin Xu Chenglin Tang Kaihui Wu Yanjun Wu Yiying Wang Huajun Sheng | 2019 | Genes & Diseases2019,6,3: | 2 |

| 7 | Effects of Germanium on Movement of Dislocations in p-Type Czochralski Silicon显示文摘By indentation at room temperature followed by annealing at high temperatures, the pinning effect of germanium on dislocations in germanium-doped Czochralski silicon was investigated. Experimental results show that the dislocations in germanium-doped Czochralski silicon move shorter and slower than those in Czochralski silicon undoping with germanium when the concentration of germanium is over 1×1018 cm-3. | 9 | Food restriction decreases BMR,body and organ mass,and cellular energetics,in the Chinese Bulbul(Pycnonotus sinensis)显示文摘Background: Food is an important environmental factor that affects animals' energy metabolism and food shortage has significant effects on animals' behavior, physiology and biochemistry. However, to date few studies have focused on the thermogenesis and its effects on the body condition of birds. In this study, we examined the effects of food restriction on the body mass, basal metabolic rate(BMR) and body composition, and several physiological, biochemical and molecular markers potentially related to thermogenesis, in the Chinese Bulbul(Pycnonotus sinensis).Methods: Birds in the control group were provided with food ad libitum whereas those in the food restriction group were provided with one-half of the usual quantity of food for 12 days. Oxygen consumption was measured using an open-circuit respirometry system. Mitochondrial state 4 respiration and cytochrome c oxidase(COX) activity in the liver and pectoral muscle were measured with a Clark electrode. Avian uncoupling protein(avUCP) mRNA expression was determined in pectorals muscle with quantitative Real-time PCR.Results:Chinese Bulbuls in food restriction group decreased in body mass,BMR and internal organ(heart,kidneys,small intestine and total digestive tract)mass compared with the control group over the 12-day period of food restriction.Bulbuls in the food restriction group also had lower levels of state-4 respiration,COX activity in the liver and muscle,and mitochondrial avUCP gene expression in muscle compared to the control group.BMR was positively correlated with body mass,state 4 respiration in the liver and COX activity in the muscle.Conclusions:Our data indicate that Chinese Bulbuls not only sustain food shortage through simple passive mechanisms,such as reducing body and organ mass and energy expenditure,but also by reducing energetic metabolism in the liver and muscle. | Yiying Zhang Ke Yang Peipei Yang Yingshi Su Weihong Zheng Jinsong Liu | 2018 | Avian Research2018,9,4: | 1 |
