| 1 | Enrichment of heavy metals in coal gangue by puff balls and mechanism research显示文摘Coal gangue with/without wild puff balls growing on or covering up were analyzed by means of inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry(ICP-AES) and atomic fluorescence spectrometry(AFS) to detect the contents of heavy metal elements in the plants. Seven heavy metals were chosen to do the experiments, which showed that the puff balls have strong enrichment capacity for heavy metals(As, Pb, Mn and Ni). The highest enrichment level was Mn, 220.3 mg/kg(dry weight) for puffball fruiting bodies, and the highest As, Cr and Pb enrichment levels for puffball mycelium were 111, 265.3 and 86 mg/kg, respectively. Cd, Mn and Ni could transfer from puffball mycelium to its fruiting bodies, while As, Cr, Pb and Co mainly accumulated in the mycelium. The contents of five organic acids(tartaric acid, glycolic acid, lactic acid, citric acid and malic acid) in puffballs were determined with high performance liquid chromatography. With water, ethanol and ethyl acetate as solvents, the puffball extracts performed dissolution reactions with coal gangue, in which the water extract(containing a large amount of organic acids) was most effective in releasing heavy metals, especially As, Pb, Cr, Mn, Co and Ni from coal gangue. As a pioneer species, puff balls absorbed the hazardous trace elements in coal gangue matrix to reduce its eco-toxicity, on the other hand, it raised the p H value of coal gangue, improving the vegetation growing conditions for coal gangue matrix to a certain extent and laying the foundation for ecological restoration of coal gangue dumps. | CHEN Miao ZHU Lijun WU Yonggui FU Tianling RAN Yan | 2014 | Chinese Journal Of Geochemistry2014,33,4: | 4 |

| 5 | Numerical Computations of Nonlocal Schrodinger Equations on the Real Line显示文摘The numerical computation of nonlocal Schrödinger equations (SEs) on the whole real axis is considered. Based on the artifcial boundary method, we frst derive the exact artifcial nonrefecting boundary conditions. For the numerical implementation, we employ the quadrature scheme proposed in Tian and Du (SIAM J Numer Anal 51:3458-3482, 2013) to discretize the nonlocal operator, and apply the z-transform to the discrete nonlocal system in an exterior domain, and derive an exact solution expression for the discrete system. This solution expression is referred to our exact nonrefecting boundary condition and leads us to reformulate the original infnite discrete system into an equivalent fnite discrete system. Meanwhile, the trapezoidal quadrature rule is introduced to discretize the contour integral involved in exact boundary conditions. | 8 | A bHLH transcription factor,CsSPT,regulates high-temperature resistance in cucumber显示文摘High-temperature stress threatens the growth and yield of crops. Basic helix-loop-helix(bHLH) transcription factors(TFs) have been shown to play important roles in regulating high-temperature resistance in plants. However, the bHLH TFs responsible for high-temperature tolerance in cucumbers have not been identified. We used transcriptome profiling to screen the high temperature-responsive candidate bHLH TFs in cucumber. Here, we found that the expression of 75 CsbHLH genes was altered under high-temperature stress. The expression of the CsSPT gene was induced by high temperatures in TT(Thermotolerant) cucumber plants. However, the Csspt mutant plants obtained by the CRISPR-Cas9 system showed severe thermosensitive symptoms, including wilted leaves with brown margins and reduced root density and cell activity.The Csspt mutant plants also exhibited elevated H_(2)O_(2) levels and down-regulated photosystem-related genes under normal conditions.Furthermore, there were high relative electrolytic leakage(REC), malondialdehyde(MDA), glutathione(GSH), and superoxide radical(O_(2)^(·-)) levels in the Csspt mutant plants, with decreased Proline content after the high-temperature treatment. Transcriptome analysis showed that the photosystem and chloroplast activities in Csspt mutant plants were extremely disrupted by the high-temperature stress compared with wildtype(WT) plants. Moreover, the plant hormone signal transduction, as well as MAPK and calcium signaling pathways were activated in Csspt mutant plants under high-temperature stress. The HSF and HSP family genes shared the same upregulated expression patterns in Csspt and WT plants under high-temperature conditions. However, most bHLH, NAC, and bZIP family genes were significantly down-regulated by heat in Csspt mutant plants. Thus, these results demonstrated that CsSPT regulated the high-temperature response by recruiting photosynthesis components, signaling pathway molecules, and transcription factors.
