1Effect of dissolved organic matter on adsorption and desorption of mercury by soils显示文摘Effects of dissolved organic matter (DOM) on adsorption and desorption of Hg were investigated in two kinds of soils, Xanthi-Udic Ferralosols (XUF) and Typic Purpli-Udic Cambosols (TPUC). The DOM was obtained from humus soil (DOMH), rice straw (DOMR), and pig manure (DOMP). The presence of DOM obviously reduced Hg maximum adsorption capacity with up to 40% decreases over the control, being an order of DOMH (250.00 mg/kg)< DOMR (303.03 mg/kg) < DOMP (322.58 mg/kg) < CK (control 416.67 mg/kg) for the XUF and DOMH (270.27 mg/kg) < DOMR (312.50 mg/kg) < DOMP (324.23 mg/kg) < CK (476.11 mg/kg) for the TPUC, respectively. The inhibition of DOM on Hg adsorption was slightly weaker in XUF than in TPUC. Meanwhile, the DOM promoted Hg desorption from the soils. The kinetic models, the Two-constant equation and Elovich equation, were applicable to describe the adsorption and desorption processes of Hg in soils. 3A simulation study of mercury release fluxes from soils in wet–dry rotation environment显示文摘A simulative mesocosm study was conducted to evaluate the influence of wet–dry rotation on mercury(Hg) flux from soil/water to air and the distribution of Hg species in water as well as Hg chemical fractions in soil. Three types of soil were employed including two kinds of paddy soil, Typic Purpli-Udic Cambosols(TPUC) and Xanthi-Udic Ferralosols(XUF), as well as the Alluvial Soil(AS) from Three Gorge reservoir area in Chongqing, China. The results showed that Hg fluxes in wetting periods were significantly higher than that in drying periods. It might be due to the formation of a layer of stable air over the water surface in which some redox reactions promote evasion processes over the water surface. This result indicated that more Hg would be evaporated from the Three Gorge reservoir and paddy soil field during the flooding season. Hg fluxes were positively correlated with air temperature and solar irradiation, while negatively correlated with air humidity and the electronic conductivity of water. Hg fluxes from AS and TPUC were significantly higher than that from XUF, which might be due to the higher organic matter(OM) contents in XUF than TPUC and AS. 4Effect of dissolved organic matter on mercury release from water body显示文摘Dissolved organic matter(DOM) plays an important role in the process of mercury release from water body.In this study,the influence of DOM from different sources(DOMR,DOMS and DOMH,extracted from rice straw,compost and humic soil respectively) on mercury reduction was investigated.The molecular weight distribution and chemical composition of DOM from each source were determined using ultrafiltration membrane technique and elemental analysis respectively.The result showed that mercury release from DOM-added samples was much lower than the control;the lowest mercury release flux was observed in the treatment of DOMH,25.02% of the control,followed by DOMS and DOMR,62.46% and 64.95% of the control,respectively.The higher saturation degree and lower molecular weight of DOMH was responsible for the highest inhibition degree on the mercury release.The link between DOMH,concentration and mercury flux was also estimated and the result showed that mercury flux was increased with DOMH at lower concentration,while decreased with DOMH at higher concentration.Different mechanism dominated the influence of DOM on mercury release with variation of DOM concentration.Yutao Zhang Xi Chen Yongkui Yang Dingyong Wang Xiao Liu 2011Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,6:3

7Direct growth of special-shape graphene on different templates by remote catalyzation of Cu nanoparticles显示文摘A novel method avoiding the complex transfer process is proposed to directly grow low-defect and few-layer graphene on different insulating substrates(SiO_2, Al_2O_3, etc.) by remote catalyzation of Cu nanoparticles(NPs) using ambient pressure chemical vapor deposition(APCVD). The insulating substrates with special structure are used as templates to grow wrapped graphene sheets with special shapes.Hollow graphene species are obtained by removing the substrates. The prime feature of the proposed method is using Cu NPs as catalyst rather than metal foils. The Cu NPs play an important role in the remote catalyzation during the nucleation of graphene. 9Hypoxia signaling in human health and diseases:implications and prospects for therapeutics显示文摘Molecular oxygen(O2)is essential for most biological reactions in mammalian cells.When the intracellular oxygen content decreases,it is called hypoxia.The process of hypoxia is linked to several biological processes,including pathogenic microbe infection,metabolic adaptation,cancer,acute and chronic diseases,and other stress responses.The mechanism underlying cells respond to oxygen changes to mediate subsequent signal response is the central question during hypoxia.Hypoxia-inducible factors(HIFs)sense hypoxia to regulate the expressions of a series of downstream genes expression,which participate in multiple processes including cell metabolism,cell growth/death,cell proliferation,glycolysis,immune response,microbe infection,tumorigenesis,and metastasis.Importantly,hypoxia signaling also interacts with other cellular pathways,such as phosphoinositide 3-kinase(PI3K)-mammalian target of rapamycin(mTOR)signaling,nuclear factor kappa-B(NF-κB)pathway,extracellular signal-regulated kinases(ERK)signaling,and endoplasmic reticulum(ER)stress.This paper systematically reviews the mechanisms of hypoxia signaling activation,the control of HIF signaling,and the function of HIF signaling in human health and diseases.In addition,the therapeutic targets involved in HIF signaling to balance health and diseases are summarized and highlighted,which would provide novel strategies for the design and development of therapeutic drugs.Zhen Luo Mingfu Tian Ge Yang Qiaoru Tan Yubing Chen Geng Li Qiwei Zhang Yongkui Li Pin Wan Jianguo Wu 2022Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2022,7,8:1

11Condition monitoring and fault diagnosis strategy of railway point machines using vibration signals显示文摘Condition monitoring of railway point machines is important for train operation safety and effectiveness.Referring to the fields of mechanical equipment fault detection,this paper proposes a fault detection and identification strategy of railway point machines via vibration signals.A comprehensive feature distilling approach by combining variational mode decomposition(VMD)energy entropy and time-and frequency-domain statistical features is presented,which is more effective than single type of feature.The optimal set of features was selected with ReliefF,which helps improve the diagnosis accuracy.Support vector machine(SVM),which is suitable for a small sample,is adopted to realize diagnosis.The diagnosis accuracy of the proposed method reaches 100%,and its effectiveness is verified by experiment comparisons.In this paper,vibration signals are creatively adopted for fault diagnosis of railway point machines.The presented method can help guide field maintenance staff and also provide reference for fault diagnosis of other equipment.Yongkui Sun Yuan Cao Haitao Liu Weifeng Yang Shuai Su 2023Transportation Safety and Environment2023,5,2:0

13SARS-CoV-2 N protein enhances the anti-apoptotic activity of MCL-1 to promote viral replication显示文摘Viral infection in respiratory tract usually leads to cell death,impairing respiratory function to cause severe disease.However,the diversity of clinical manifestations of SARS-CoV-2 infection increases the complexity and difficulty of viral infection prevention,and especially the high-frequency asymptomatic infection increases the risk of virus transmission.Studying how SARS-CoV-2 affects apoptotic pathway may help to understand the pathological process of its infection.Here,we uncovered SARS-CoV-2 imployed a distinct anti-apoptotic mechanism via its N protein.We found SARS-CoV-2 virus-like particles(trVLP)suppressed cell apoptosis,but the trVLP lacking N protein didn’t.Further study verified that N protein repressed cell apoptosis in cultured cells,human lung organoids and mice.Mechanistically,N protein specifically interacted with anti-apoptotic protein MCL-1,and recruited a deubiquitinating enzyme USP15 to remove the K63-linked ubiquitination of MCL-1,which stabilized this protein and promoted it to hijack Bak in mitochondria.Importantly,N protein promoted the replications of IAV,DENV and ZIKV,and exacerbated death of IAV-infected mice,all of which could be blocked by a MCL-1 specific inhibitor,S63845.Altogether,we identifed a distinct anti-apoptotic function of the N protein,through which it promoted viral replication.These may explain how SARS-CoV-2 effectively replicates in asymptomatic individuals without cuasing respiratory dysfunction,and indicate a risk of enhanced coinfection with other viruses.We anticipate that abrogating the N/MCL-1-dominated apoptosis repression is conducive to the treatments of SARS-CoV-2 infection as well as coinfections with other viruses.Pan Pan Weiwei Ge Zhiwei Lei Wei luo Yuqing Liu Zhanwen Guan Lumiao Chen Zhenyang Yu Miaomiao Shen Dingwen Hu Qi Xiang Wenbiao Wang Pin Wan Mingfu Tian Yang Yu Zhen Luo Xulin Chen Heng Xiao Qiwei Zhang Xujing Liang Xin Chen Yongkui Li Jianguo Wu 2023Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2023,8,6:0
