Computed tomography-based radiomics for prediction of neoadjuvant chemotherapy outcomes in locally advanced gastric cancer: A pilot study显示文摘Objective: The standard treatment for patients with locally advanced gastric cancer has relied on perioperative radio-chemotherapy or chemotherapy and surgery. The aim of this study was to investigate the wealth of radiomics for pre-treatment computed tomography(CT) in the prediction of the pathological response of locally advanced gastric cancer with preoperative chemotherapy. Methods: Thirty consecutive patients with CT-staged II/III gastric cancer receiving neoadjuvant chemotherapy were enrolled in this study between December 2014 and March 2017. All patients underwent upper abdominal CT during the unenhanced, late arterial phase(AP) and portal venous phase(PP) before the administration of neoadjuvant chemotherapy. In total, 19,985 radiomics features were extracted in the AP and PP for each patient.Four methods were adopted during feature selection and eight methods were used in the process of building the classifier model. Thirty-two combinations of feature selection and classification methods were examined. Receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curves were used to evaluate the capability of each combination of feature selection and classification method to predict a non-good response(non-GR) based on tumor regression grade(TRG).Results: The mean area under the curve(AUC) ranged from 0.194 to 0.621 in the AP, and from 0.455 to 0.722 in the PP, according to different combinations of feature selection and the classification methods. There was only one cross-combination machine-learning method indicating a relatively higher AUC(>0.600) in the AP, while 12 cross-combination machine-learning methods presented relatively higher AUCs(all >0.600) in the PP. The feature selection method adopted by a filter based on linear discriminant analysis + classifier of random forest achieved a significantly prognostic performance in the PP(AUC, 0.722±0.108; accuracy, 0.793; sensitivity, 0.636; specificity,0.889; Z=2.039; P=0.041).Conclusions: It is possible to predict non-GR after neoadjuvant chemotherapy in locally advanced gastric cancers based on the radiomics of CT. | Zhenhui Li Dafu Zhang Youguo Dai Jian Dong Lin Wu Yajun Li Zixuan Cheng Yingying Ding Zaiyi Liu | 2018 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2018,30,4: | 18

Spectroscopic evidence for triplet excitation energy transfer among carotenoids in the LH2 complex from photosynthetic bacterium Rhodopseudomonas palustris显示文摘The LH2 complex from Rhodopsudomonas (Rps.) palustris is unique in the heterogeneous carotenoid compositions. The dynamics of triplet excited state Carotenoids (3Car*) has been investigated by means of sub-microsecond time-resolved absorption spectroscopy both at physiological temperature (295 K) and at cryogenic temperature (77 K). Broad and asymmetric Tn←T1 transient absorption was observed at room temperature following the photo-excitation of Car at 532 nm, which suggests the contribution from various carotenoid compositions having different numbers of conjugated C=C double bonds (NC=C). The triplet absorption bands of different carotenoids, which superimposed at room temperature, could be clearly distinguished upon decreasing the temperature down to 77 K. At room temperature the shorter-wavelength side of the main Tn←T1 absorption band decayed rapidly to reach a spectral equilibration with a characteristic time constant of~1 μs, the same spectral dynamics, however, was not observed at 77 K. The aforementioned spectral dynamics can be explained in terms of the triplet-excitation transfer among heterogeneous carotenoid compositions. Global spectral analysis was applied to the time-resolved spectra at room temperature, which revealed two spectral components peaked at 545 and 565 nm, and assignable to the Tn←T1 absorption of Cars with NC=C=11 and NC=C=13, respectively. Surprisingly, the decay time constant of a shorter-con- jugated Car, I.e. 0.72 μs (aerobic) and 1.36 μs (anaerobic), is smaller than that of a longer-con- jugated Car, I.e. 2.12 μs (aerobic) and 3.75 μs (anaerobic), which is contradictory to the general rule of carotenoids and relative polyenes. The results are explained in terms of triplet-excitation transfer among different types of Cars. It is postulated that two Cars with different conjugation lengths coexist in an α,β-subunit in the LH2 complex. | FENG Juan, WANG Qian, ZHANG Xujia, HUANG Youguo, Al Xicheng, ZHANG Xingkang & ZHANG JianpingState Key Laboratory for Structural Chemistry of Unstable and Stable Species, Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 100080, China National Laboratory of Biomacromolecules, Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 100101, China | 2004 | Science China Chemistry2004,47,1: | 8
Transcranial direct current stimulation for auditory verbal hallucinations:a systematic review of clinical trials显示文摘Transcranial direct current stimulation(tDCS)has been reportedly beneficial for different neurodegenerative disorders.tDCS has been reported as a potential adjunctive or alternative treatment for auditory verbal hallucination(AVH).This study aims to review the effects of tDCS on AVH in patients with schizophrenia through combining the evidence from randomized clinical trials(RCTs).The databases of PsycINFO(2000–2019),PubMed(2000–2019),EMBASE(2000–2019),CINAHL(2000–2019),Web of Science(2000–2019),and Scopus(2000–2019)were systematically searched. The clinical trials with RCT design were selected for final analysis.A total of nine RCTs were eligible and included in the review.Nine RCTs were included in the final analysis.Among them, six RCTs reported a significant reduction of AVH after repeated sessions of tDCS,whereas three RCTs did not show any advantage of active tDCS over sham tDCS.The current studies showed an overall decrease of approximately 28%of AVH after active tDCS and 10%after sham tDCS.The tDCS protocols targeting the sensorimotor frontal-parietal network showed greater treatment effects compared with the protocols targeting other regions. In this regard, cathodal tDCS over the left temporoparietal area showed inhibitory effects on AVHs.The most effective tDCS protocol on AVHs was twice-daily sessions(2 mA,20-minute duration)over 5 consecutive days(10 sessions)with the anode over the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex and the cathode over the left temporal area. Some patient-specific and diseasespecific factors such as young age, nonsmoking status, and higher frequencies of AVHs seemed to be the predictors of treatment response.Taken together, the results of tDCS as an alternative treatment option for AVH show controversy among current literatures, since not all studies were positive. However, the studies targeting the same site of the brain showed that the tDCS could be a promising treatment option to reduce AVH.Further RCTs,with larger sample sizes, should be conducted to reach a conclusion on the efficacy of tDCS for AVH and to develop an effective therapeutic protocol for clinical setting. | Samaneh Rashidi Myles Jones Eric Murillo-Rodriguez Sergio Machado Youguo Hao Ali Yadollahpour | 2021 | Neural Regeneration Research2021,16,4: | 4

The relationship between MRP1 activities and its NBD conformational changes显示文摘MIANS, a sulfhydryl-reactive fluorescence, was used to label the cysteines of MRP1 (multidrug resistance protein), and the results indicated that an increase in fluorescence intensity and a large emission blue shift took place after two Cys residues of MRP1 reacted with MIANS, which demonstrated that labeled Cys residues in MRP1 reside in a relatively hydrophobic envi-ronment. The experimental results obtained from fluorescence resonance energy transfer further uncover that two Cys residues of MRP1 modified by MIANS located in the vicinity of its NBDs, of which one lies close to NBD1, and the other near NBD2. ATP, ADP and anticancer drugs can all reduce the rate of reaction of MRP1 with MIANS. The collisional quenchers, acrylamide, I-, and Cs+ were used to assess local environments of MIANS bound to MRP1 and the results showed that the region around the MIANS-labeled cysteine is positively charged. Both MIANS and NEM, which are sulfhydryl-reactive reagents, inhibited MRP1 ATPase activity, whereas anticancer drugs activated it. These results demonstrated that all nucleotides and drugs could induce changes in conformation of the NBDs in MRP1. Nucleotides can bind directly to NBDs, but drugs may react first with TMDs, which in turn alters the accessibility of the two Cys residues bound by MIANS and affects MRP1 ATPase activity, which is coupled with the transport of its substrates. Taken together, the above experimental results provide direct evidence for further study on the coupling of translocation of the transported species to hydrolysis of ATP in MRP1. | HUANG Zhenhua & HUANG Youguo National Laboratory of Biomacromolecules, Center for Structural and Molecular Biology, Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 100101, China | 2004 | Science China(Life Sciences)2004,47,5: | 3
Design of an anti-jamming GPS receiver based on orthogonal projection method显示文摘Code delay and Doppler shifted frequency could not be captured by using the conventional GPS receiver in strong interference environments because the received GPS signals which traveled a long distance are very weak. An anti-jamming GPS receiver is proposed. The interferences in the received signals are cancelled by using subspace projecting technique, and the resulting interference-free signals are processed by a weight vector which maximizes the signal-to-noise ratio. Simulation is conducted, and the results show that the method is valid. | Youguo Hou Wei Guo Xiaozhang Jin | 2010 | Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics2010,21,1: | 3
Event-triggered attack-tolerant tracking control design for networked nonlinear control systems under DoS jamming attacks显示文摘This paper addresses the problem of event-triggered attack-tolerant tracking control for a networked nonlinear system under spasmodic denial-of-service(DoS) attacks. Compared with some existing results, the exact duration of DoS attacks is not required while only assuming attainable bounds of attack frequency and duration. First, a new event-triggered attack-tolerant fuzzy tracking controller is proposed,to reduce the amount of sensor data transmissions over the sensor-to-controller(S-C) channel while counteracting unknown DoS attacks. Second, for the purpose of performance analysis and synthesis, a unified event-triggered Takagi-Sugeno(T-S) fuzzy switched model is established, which accounts for a suitable attackresilient event-triggered communication scheme and unknown DoS jamming signals. Third, using piecewise Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional(PLKF) analysis technique, a new criterion is derived to ensure exponential stability of the resulting switched tracking error system while achieving a weighted H∞performance level.Additionally, the relationship among the parameters of a DoS attack signal, the triggering parameters, the fuzzy controller gains, the sampling period, and the decay rate can be quantitatively characterized. Moreover, the triggering matrix parameter and fuzzy controller gains are obtained by finding a feasible solution to a set of linear matrix inequalities(LMIs). Finally, numerical verification is performed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control design method. | Xiaoli CHEN Youguo WANG | 2020 | Science China(Information Sciences)2020,63,5: | 2
MINERALOGICAL FEATURES OF ULTRAMAFIC HYPOXENOLITHS IN ALKALI-RICH PORPHYRY显示文摘Ultramafic hypoxenoliths found in the alkali-rich porphyry in the Liuhe Village, Heqing, Yunnan,China, are of great significance in understanding the origin and evolution of the porphyry. This paper discusses the mineralogical features of the hypoxenoliths. It shows that the xenoliths are characterized by the upper mantle rocks modified to certain extent by the enriched mantle fluid metasomatism in the mantle environment, with the enriched mantle property of Iow-degree partial melting. This constitutes the important mineralogical evidence for the petrogenesis and mineralization of alkali-rich porphyry. | LIU Xianfan , YANG Zhengxi, LIU Jiaduo, ZHANG Chengjiang, WU Dechao and LI Youguo(Institute of Earth Science, Chengdu University of Technology, Erxianqiao Dongsan Road 1#,Chengdu, SC610059, China) | 2003 | Geotectonica et Metallogenia2003,27,1: | 2

Edge superconductivity in multilayer WTe2 Josephson junction显示文摘WTe2,as a type-ⅡWeyl semimetal, has 2D Fermi arcs on the(O01)surface in the bulk and 1D helical edge states in its monolayer. These features have recently attracted wide attention in condensed matter physics. However,in the intermediate regime between the bulk and monolayer, the edge states have not been resolved owing to its closed band gap which makes the bulk states dominant. Here,we report the signatures of the edge superconductivity by superconducting quantum interference measurements in multilayerWTe2 Josephson junctions and we directly map the localized supercurrent. In thickWTe(~60nm),the supercurrent is uniformly distributed by bulk states with symmetricJosephson effect(|Ic+(B)|=|Ic^-(B)|).In thin WTe2(10 nm),however, the supercurrent becomes confined to the edge and its width reaches up to 1.4μm and exhibits non-symmetric behavior|Ic^+(B)|≠|Ic^-(B)|.The ability to tune the edge domination by changing thickness and the edge superconductivity establishes WTez as a promising topological system with exotic quantum phases and a rich physics. | Ce Huang Awadhesh Narayan Enze Zhang Xiaoyi Xie Linfeng Ai Shanshan Liu Changjiang Yi Youguo Shi Stefano Sanvito Faxian Xiu | 2020 | National Science Review2020,7,9: | 2
The function of three indigenous plasmids in Mesorhizobium huakuii 2020 and its symbiotic inter-action with Sym pJB5JI of Rhizobium leguminosarum显示文摘A Mesorhizobium huakuii strain 2020, isolated from a rice-growing field in southern China, contains three indigenous plasmids named p2020a, p2020b and p2020c, respectively. The plasmids were deleted via Tn5-sacB insertion, and two cured derivatives were obtained. Interestingly, the mutant 2020D29 curing of p2020c could significantly enhance the capacity of symbiotic nitrogen fixation. But the mutant 2020D8 curing of p2020b lost the ability to nodulate Astragalus sinicus. Furthermore, the third plasmid p2020a could be hardly eliminated, suggesting that some house-keeping genes necessary for strain growth located on this plasmid. Then the Sym plasmid pJB5JI of R. leguminosarum bv. viciae was transferred into 2020 and its cured derivatives. The pot plant test showed that the ability of competition and symbiotic nitrogen fixation of transconjugant 2020-137 (pJB5JI) was increased evidently in con-trast to 2020. pJB5JI could not restore the ability of 2020D8 to nodulate Astragalus sinicus. 2020D8-8 (pJB5JI) could form ineffective nodules on peas, which implied that the symbiotic plasmid pJB5JI could express its function at the chromosomal background of Mesorhizobium huakuii 2020. The plas-mid stability was checked in transconjugants under free-living and during symbiosis. The results indi-cated that pJB5JI failed to be detected in some nodule isolates. That Km resistance gene could be am-plified from all transconjugants and nodule isolates suggested that pJB5JI was fully or partially inte-grated into the chromosome of recipients. | YANG ChengYun, LI YouGuo, WEI Li, CHENG GuoJun & ZHOU JunChu State Key Laboratory of Agricultural Microbiology, Huazhong Agricultural University, Wuhan 430070, China | 2008 | Science China(Life Sciences)2008,51,4: | 2

Topological electronic states in HfRuP family superconductors显示文摘Based on the first-principles calculations and experimental measurements,we report that the hexagonal phase of ternary transition metal pnictides TT’X(T=Zr,Hf;T’=Ru;X=P,As),which are well-known noncentrosymmetric superconductors with relatively high transition temperatures, host nontrivial bulk topology. Before the superconducting phase transition,we find that HfRuP belongs to a Weyl semimetal phase with 12 pairs of type-II Weyl points, while ZrRuAs,ZrRuP and HfRuAs belong to a topological crystalline insulating phase with trivial Fu-Kane Z_(2) indices but nontrivial mirror Chern numbers.High-quality single crystal samples of the noncentrosymmetric superconductors with these two different topological states have been obtained and the superconductivity is verified experimentally. The wide-range band structures of ZrRuAs have been identified by ARPES and reproduced by theoretical calculations.Combined with intrinsic superconductivity, the nontrivial topology of the normal state may generate unconventional superconductivity in both bulk and surfaces. Our findings could largely inspire the experimental searching for possible topological superconductivity in these compounds. | Yuting Qian Simin Nie Changjiang Yi Lingyuan Kong Chen Fang Tian Qian Hong Ding Youguo Shi Zhijun Wang Hongming Weng Zhong Fang | 2019 | npj Computational Materials2019,,1: | 1
