| 1 | Properties and characterization of Au^(3+)-adsorption by mycelial waste of Streptomyces aureofaciences显示文摘Mycelial waste of Streptomyces aureofaciences procured from the aureomycin fermentation industry is used as biosorbent for Au3+. The properties of Au3+ adsorption by the mycelial waste are studied. The results indicate that the optimum pH value of Au3+ adsorption is 3.5. The biosorption is a rapid and non-temperature-dependent process. The bio-sorptive capacity with 45.6 mg/g and efficiency with 91.2% are achieved under the conditions of pH 3.5 and 30℃ for 45 min, in which the ratio is 50 mg/g dry weight for the concentrations of initial Au3+ and the mycelial waste. The Au3+ ions adsorbed on the mycelial waste can be eluted. The observation in a transmission electron microscope shows that the Au3+ ions can be reduced to Au particles by the mycelial waste and the Au can become gold crystals with differentforms and sizes. | 2 | A draft sequence of the rice (Oryza sativa ssp. indica) genome显示文摘The sequence of the rice genome holds fundamental information for its biology, including physiology, genetics, development, and evolution, as well as information on many beneficial phenotypes of economic significance. Using a 'whole genome shotgun' approach, we have pro-duced a draft rice genome sequence of Oryza sativa ssp. in-dica, the major crop rice subspecies in China and many other regions of Asia. The draft genome sequence is constructed from over 4.3 million successful sequencing traces with an accumulative total length of 2214.9 Mb. The initial assembly of the non-redundant sequences reached 409.76 Mb in length, based on 3.30 million successful sequencing traces with a total length of 1797.4 Mb from an indica variant cultivar 93-11, giving an estimated coverage of 95.29% of the rice genome with an average base accuracy of higher than 99%. | 16 | Arsenic Trioxide Combining Leflunomide Activates Nrf2-ARE-HO-1 Signaling Pathway and Protects Heart Xenografts显示文摘Objective:To investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying the effects of arsenic trioxide(As_(2)0_(3))in combination with leflunomide on the hamster-to-rat heart xenotransplant.Methods:Transplantation of LVG hamster hearts to Lewis rats was performed by anastomosis of vessels in the neck using end-to-end anastomosis with a non-suture cuff technique.Four groups of recipient rats(n=6 in each)were treated with normal saline(control),As_(2)0_(3)[5 mg/(kg*day)intraperitoneally],leflunomide[5 mg/(kg*d)orally],or leflunomide[5 mg/(kg.d)+As_(2)0_(3)5 mg/(kg.d)]in combination.Donor hearts and/or rat spleens were harvested and analyzed 4 days after transplantation.Quantitative reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction and Western blot analysis were performed to detect the expression of the nuclear factor erythroid-derived factor 2-related factor(Nrf2)and its target gene heme oxygenase-1(HO-1),Treg cell marker fork-head Box P3(FOXP3),apoptosis-associated proteins Bcl-2,Bax,and cleaved caspase-3.Immunohistochemical staining was used to detect the levels of inflammatory natural killer cell and macrophage infiltration,intercellular cell adhesion molecule-1(ICAM-1)and complement C3.Results:Expression of Nrf2-ARE-HO-1 signaling pathway was upregulated in heart xenografts in rats treated with As_(2)0_(3) plus leflunomide compared with control rats or rats treated with either drug alone(P<0.01),and this was accompanied by an increased Treg cells in the recipient rat spleen(P<0.01).In contrast,the expressions of Bax,cleaved caspase-3,ICAM-1,and complement C3,and infiltration of inflammatory cells in the xenografts were inhibited by As_(2)0_(3) plus leflunomide treatment(P<0.01).Conclusion:Combination treatment with As_(2)0_(3) and leflunomide protected hamster heart-xenografts in recipient rats. | WANG Teng-da XU Song-lin YU Zheng-yi Nl Shao-bin ZHANG Cheng JIAO Zhi-xing | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Integrative Medicine2021，27，10： | 1 |

| 18 | Expression and regulation of metalloproteinases-2,-9 and tissue inhibitors of metallo-proteinases in rat corpus luteum显示文摘The expression and regulation of metallopro-teinases-2, -9 (MMP-2, -9) and their tissue inhibitors TIMP-1, -2, -3 mRNA were studied in this experiment. In the PMSG-hCG primed pseudopregnant rat, MMP-2, -9 mRNA levels were the highest at Day 1, decreased from Day 4, and reached the minimal level at Day 8, then increased at Day 14; no significant changes were observed in TIMP-2 mRNA expression from Day 1 to Day 14; TIMP-3 mRNA expression was the lowest at Day 1, increased from Day 4, reached the maximal level at Day 8, and persisted to Day 14. TNF-α could significantly increase the expression of MMP-2, -9 and TIMP-1 mRNA in the in vitro perfused pseudopregnant CL, and decrease the expression of TIMP-3 mRNA, but had no effect on TIMP-2 mRNA expression. The results indicate that MMP-2, -9 and TIMP-1, -2, -3 might be involved in the regulation of CL function and maintenance of CL structure via their coordinated gene expression. | 19 | Expression of gelatinases and tissue inhibitors of metallo-proteinases in the rhesus monkey(Macaca mulatta) corpus luteum显示文摘Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and their tissue inhibitors (TIMPs) are believed to play important roles in the formation and regression of corpus luteum (CL). This study is to investigate the expression of gelatinases (MMP-2, -9) and TIMPs in the rhesus monkey CL in both early and late luteal phases and during the early stages of pregnancy. Ovaries were collected from regularly cycling rhesus monkey at D5 and D15 following ovulation and at D12, D18 and D26 of pregnancy. In situ hybridization revealed that in the CL MMP-2 niRNA was expressed during both formation and regression, while MMP-9 mRNA was mainly localized in the late luteal phase. Reduction of MMP-2, -9 transcripts in the CL was observed during pregnancy. MMP-2 mRNA in the CL reduced to an undetectable level at D26 of pregnancy. TIMP-1 mRNA was highly expressed in the CL in both early and late luteal phases and persisted throughout the early stages of pregnancy.
