Humic acid and metal ions accelerating the dechlorination of 4-chlorobiphenyl by nanoscale zero-valent iron显示文摘Transformation of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) by zero-valent iron represents one of the latest innovative technologies for environmental remediation. The dechlorination of 4-chlorobiphenyl (4-ClBP) by nanoscale zero-valent iron (NZVI) in the presence of humic acid or metal ions was investigated. The results showed that the dechlorination of 4-ClBP by NZVI increased with decreased solution pH. When the initial pH value was 4.0, 5.5, 6.8, and 9.0, the dechlorination efficiencies of 4-ClBP after 48 hr were 53.8%, 47.8%, 35.7%, and 35.6%, respectively. The presence of humic acid inhibited the reduction of 4-ClBP in the first 4 hr, and then significantly accelerated the dechlorination by reaching 86.3% in 48 hr. Divalent metal ions, Co 2+ , Cu 2+ , and Ni 2+ , were reduced and formed bimetals with NZVI, thereby enhanced the dechlorination of 4-ClBP. The dechlorination percentages of 4-ClBP in the presence of 0.1 mmol/L Co 2+ , Cu 2+ and Ni 2+ were 66.1%, 66.0% and 64.6% in 48 hr, and then increased to 67.9%, 71.3% and 73.5%, after 96 hr respectively. The dechlorination kinetics of 4-ClBP by the NZVI in all cases followed pseudo-first order model. The results provide a basis for better understanding of the dechlorination mechanisms of PCBs in real environment. | Yu Wang Dongmei Zhou Yujun Wang Xiangdong Zhu Shengyang Jin | 2011 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,8: | 5
Quantifying the adsorption and uptake of CuO nanoparticles by wheat root based on chemical extractions显示文摘Extensive application of metal nanoparticles is attracting more attention because of their potential environmental risks. Many studies have focused on the uptake of metal nanoparticles (NPs) by plant, but the adsorption of nanoparticles on root surface is often mistakenly regarded as their uptake. This study optimized the methods to distinguish the adsorption and uptake of CuO-NPs on the wheat root by applying different metal competing ions (Na +,Mg 2+,and La 3+ ),surfactant (i.e.,sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate,SDBS),or complexing agents like NaOAc and Na 4 EDTA,as well as ultrasonic technique. The results indicated that some CuO-NPs is strongly adsorbed on the plant root surface, and part of them by mechanical adhesion.Competing ions could not desorb the CuO-NPs from the root surface, while NaOAc and Na 4 EDTA well dissolved the adsorbed CuO-NPs.In addition, the uptake and adsorption of CuO-NPs increased with increasing exposure concentrations of CuO-NPs in the range of 5-200 mg/L.The amount of CuO-NPs adsorption is always lower than that of their uptake. | Dongmei Zhou Shengyang Jin Lianzhen Li Yu Wang Nanyan Weng | 2011 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,11: | 3
Convection-Diffusion Model for Radon Migration in a Three-Dimensional Confined Space in Turbulent Conditions显示文摘Convection and diffusion are the main factors affecting radon migration. In this paper,a coupled diffusion-convection radon migration model is presented taking into account turbulence effects. In particular, the migration of radon is simulated in the framework of the k-εturbulence model. The model equations are solved in a complex 3D domain by the finite element method(FEM).Special attention is paid to the case study about radon migration in an abandoned air defense shelter(AADS).The results show that air convection in a confined space has a great influence on the radon migration and the radon concentration is inversely proportional to the wind speed. | Shengyang Feng Dongbo Xiong Guojie Chen Yu Cui Puxin Chen | 2020 | Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing2020,16,3: | 1

Cloning and characterization of an apolipoprotein C2 promoter in the mouse central nervous system显示文摘Apolipoprotein C2 is an important member of the apolipoprotein C family, and is a potent activator of lipoprotein lipase. In the central nervous system, apolipoprotein C2 plays an important role in the catabolism of triglyceride-rich lipoproteins. Studies into the exact regulatory mechanism of mouse apolipoprotein C2 expression have not been reported. In this study, seven luciferase expression vectors, which contained potential mouse apolipoprotein C2 gene promoters, were constructed and co-transfected with pRL-TK into HEK293T cells to investigate apolipoprotein C2 promoter activity. Luciferase assays indicated that the apolipoprotein C2 promoter region was mainly located in the +104 bp to +470 bp region. The activity of the different lengths of apolipoprotein C2 promoter region varied. This staggered negative-positive-negative arrangement indicates the complex regulation of apolipoprotein C2 expression and provides important clues for elucidating the regulatory mechanism of apolipoprotein C2 gene transcription. | Zhaoyang Li Bing Du Shengyang Li Xiangchuan Lv Shenglai Zhou Yang Yu Wei Wang Zhihong Zheng | 2013 | Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,2: | 1

Engineering Multi‑field‑coupled Synergistic Ion Transport System Based on the Heterogeneous Nanofluidic Membrane for High‑Efficient Lithium Extraction显示文摘The global carbon neutrality strategy brings a wave of rechargeable lithium‐ion batteries technique development and induces an ever-growing consumption and demand for lithium(Li).Among all the Li exploitation, extracting Li from spent LIBs would be a strategic and perspective approach, especially with the low energy consumption and eco-friendly membrane separation method. However, current membrane separation systems mainly focus on monotonous membrane design and structure optimization, and rarely further consider the coordination of inherent structure and applied external field, resulting in limited ion transport. Here,we propose a heterogeneous nanofluidic membrane as a platform for coupling multi-external fields(i.e.,lightinduced heat, electrical, and concentration gradient fields)to construct the multi-field-coupled synergistic ion transport system(MSITS)for Li-ion extraction from spent LIBs.The Li flux of the MSITS reaches 367.4 mmol m^(−2)h^(−1),even higher than the sum flux of those applied individual fields, reflecting synergistic enhancement for ion transport of the multi-field-coupled effect.Benefiting from the adaptation of membrane structure and multi-external fields, the proposed system exhibits ultrahigh selectivity with a Li^(+)/Co^(2+)factor of 216,412,outperforming previous reports.MSITS based on nanofluidic membrane proves to be a promising ion transport strategy,as it could accelerate ion transmembrane transport and alleviate the ion concentration polarization effect. This work demonstrated a collaborative system equipped with an optimized membrane for high-efficient Li extraction, providing an expanded strategy to investigate the other membrane-based applications of their common similarities in core concepts. | Lin Fu Yuhao Hu Xiangbin Lin Qingchen Wang Linsen Yang Weiwen Xin Shengyang Zhou Yongchao Qian Xiang‑Yu Kong Lei Jiang Liping Wen | 2023 | Nano-Micro Letters2023,15,8: | 1

Human intestinal Caco-2 cell model to evaluate the absorption of 7-ketophytosterols and their effects on cholesterol transport显示文摘7-Ketophytosterols are the major oxidation products of phytosterols in foods, which have been associated with atherosclerosis. However, their absorption mechanism remains unclear. The aim of our work was to investigate the absorption mechanism of 7-ketophytosterols and their effects on the cholesterol transport using Caco-2 cell model. The absorption percentage of 7-ketositosterol and 7-ketocampesterol was 1.16%-1.68% and 1.18%-2.23% respectively in the Caco-2 model, which is higher than that of their parent phytosterols, but lower than cholesterol-d7. The apparent permeability of 7-ketositosterol and 7-ketocampesterol at 30 μmol/L in the basolateral(BL)-to-apical(AP)direction were 0.42-and 0.55-fold of that in the AP-to-BL direction, indicating an active intake in the permeation mechanism of 7-ketophytosterols. Ezetimibe could significantly inhibit the transport of 7-ketophytosterols(P < 0.05), which means that their transport depends on niemann-pick c1-like 1(NPC1L1)protein. The transport of cholesterol-d7 was significantly inhibited by 7-ketophytosterols(P < 0.05). Taken together, this study deepened our understanding of the absorption mechanism of common food-born 7-ketophytosterols and provides useful information on the inhibition of 7-ketophytosterols absorption. | Mengmeng Wang Min Yu Amel Thanina Amrouche Fan Jie Shengyang Ji Baiyi Lu | 2023 | Food Science and Human Wellness2023,12,5: | 0
Expert consensus on prevention and cardiopulmonary resuscitation for cardiac arrest in COVID-19显示文摘Background:Cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR)strategies in COVID-19 patients differ from those in patients suffering from cardiogenic cardiac arrest.During CPR,both healthcare and non-healthcare workers who provide resuscitation are at risk of infection. The Working Group for Expert Consensus on Prevention and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation for Cardiac Arrest in COVID-19 has developed this Chinese Expert Consensus to guide clinical practice of CPR in COVID-19 patients.Main recommendations:1)A medical team should be assigned to evaluate severe and critical COVID-19 for early monitoring of cardiac-arrest warning signs.2)Psychological counseling and treatment are highly recommended, since sympathetic and vagal abnormalities induced by psychological stress from the COVID-19 pandemic can induce cardiac arrest.3)Healthcare workers should wear personal protective equipment(PPE).4)Mouth-to-mouth ventilation should be avoided on patients suspected of having or diagnosed with COVID-19.5)Hands-only chest compression and mechanical chest compression are recommended.6)Tracheal-intubation procedures should be optimized and tracheal-intubation strategies should be implemented early.7)CPR should be provided for 20-30 min.8)Various factors should be taken into consideration such as the interests of patients and family members, ethics, transmission risks, and laws and regulations governing infectious disease control.Changes in management:The following changes or modifications to CPR strategy in COVID-19 patients are proposed:1)Healthcare workers should wear PPE.2)Hands-only chest compression and mechanical chest compression can be implemented to reduce or avoid the spread of viruses by aerosols.3)Both the benefits to patients and the risk of infection should be considered.4)Hhealthcare workers should be fully aware of and trained in CPR strategies and procedures specifically for patients with COVID-19. | Wei Song Jie Wei Xiangdong Jian Deren Wang Yanhong Ouyang Yuanshui Liu Xianjin Du Ying Chen Yingqi Zhang Heping Xu Shuming Xianyu Qiong Ning Xiang Li Xiaotong Han Feng Zhan Tao Yu Wenteng Chen Jun Zhang Wenwei Cai Sheng’ang Zhou Shengyang Yi Yu Cao Xiaobei Chen Shunjiang Xu Zong’an Liang Duohu Wu Fen Ai Zhong Wang Qingyi Meng Yuhong Mi Sisen Zhang Rongjia Yang Shouchun Yan Wenbin Han Yong Lin Chuanyun Qian Wenwu Zhang Yan Xiong Jun Lv Baochi Liu Yan Cao Xiaojun He Xuelian Sun Yufang Cao Tian’en Zhou | 2021 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2021,14,6: | 0
Mutual aid instead of mutual restraint:interactive probing for topological charge and phase of a vortex beam of large aberrations显示文摘An imperfect propagation environment or optical system would introduce wavefront aberrations to vortex beams. The phase aberrations and orbital angular momentum in a vortex beam are proved to be mutually restrictive in parameter measurement.Aberrations make traditional topological charge(TC)probing methods ineffective while the phase singularity makes phase retrieval difficult due to the aliasing between the wrapped phase jump and the vortex phase jump.An interactive probing method is proposed to make measurements of the aberrated phase and orbital angular momentum in a vortex beam assist rather than hinder each other. The phase unwrapping is liberated from the phase singularity by an annular shearing interference technique while the TC value is determined by a Moirétechnique immune to aberrations.Simulation and experimental results proving the method effective are presented. It is of great significance to judge the characteristics of vortex beams passing through nonideal environments and optical systems. | SHENGYANG WU BENLI YU LEI ZHANG | 2024 | Photonics Research2024,12,1: | 0
