1Charge resolution in the isochronous mass spectrometry and the mass of ^(51)Co显示文摘Isochronous mass spectrometry(IMS)of heavyion storage rings is a powerful tool for the mass measurements of short-lived nuclei.In IMS experiments,masses are determined through precision measurements of the revolution times of the ions stored in the ring.However,the revolution times cannot be resolved for particles with nearly the same mass-to-charge(m/q)ratios.To overcome this limitation and to extract the accurate revolution times for such pairs of ion species with very close m/q ratios,in our early work on particle identification,we analyzed the amplitudes of the timing signals from the detector based on the emission of secondary electrons.Here,the previous data analysis method is further improved by considering the signal amplitudes,detection efficiencies,and number of stored ions in the ring.A sensitive Z-dependent parameter is introduced in the data analysis,leading to a better resolution of ^(34)Ar^(18+) and ^(51)Co^(27+) with A/Z=17/9.The mean revolution times of ^(34)Ar^(18+) and ^(51)Co^(27+) are deduced,although their time difference is merely 1.8 ps.The uncorrected,overlapped peak of these ions has a full width at half maximum of 7.7 ps.The mass excess of ^(51)Co was determined to be-27;332e41T keV,which is in agreement with the previous value of-27;342e48T keV.Xu Zhou Meng Wang Yu-Hu Zhang Hu-Shan Xu You-Jin Yuan Jian-Cheng Yang Yu.A.Litvinov S.A.Litvinov Bo Mei Xin-Liang Yan Xing Xu Peng Shuai Yuan-Ming Xing Rui-Jiu Chen Xiang-Cheng Chen Chao-Yi Fu Qi Zeng Ming-Ze Sun Hong-Fu Li Qian Wang Tong Bao Min Zhang Min Si Han-Yu Deng Ming-Zheng Liu Ting Liao Jin-Yang Shi Yu-Nan Song 2021Nuclear Science and Techniques2021,32,4:1
2Revisit to Two-Proton Radioactivity of 19Mg and Observation of Two-Proton Decay of 30Ar显示文摘An experiment aimed to investigate the two-proton(2p) decay of the previously unknown nucleus ^(30)Ar was performed at GSI. By tracking the decay products in-flight with silicon micro-strip detectors, the 2p decays of ^(30)Ar were observed for the first time. For the calibration purpose, 2p decays of ^(19)Mg were also remeasured by tracking the coincident ^(17)Ne+p+p trajectories. By comparing the measured angular p-17 Ne correlations with those obtained from the corresponding Monte Carlo simulations,the simultaneous 2p decay of ^(19)Mg ground state and the sequential 2p emission of several known excited states of ^(19)Mg were confirmed. 3Simulation and measurement of the resonant Schottky pickup显示文摘A resonant Schottky pickup with high sensitivity, built by GSI, will be used for nuclear mass and lifetime measurement at CSRe. The basic concepts of Schottky noise signals, a brief introduction of the geometry of the detector, the transient response of the detector, and MAFIA simulated and perturbation measured results of characteristics are presented in this paper. The resonant frequency of the pickup is about 243 MHz and can be slightly changed at a range of 3 MHz. The unloaded quality factor is about 1072 and the shunt impedance is 76 k . 42-4 First Isochronous Mass Measurement in Neutron-rich Region at CSRe显示文摘Mass is one of the fundamental properties of atomic nuclei. Isochronous mass spectrometry (IMS), using astorage ring combined with an in-flight separator, has been shown to be a powerful tool for mass measurementof exotic nuclei[1]. Recently, masses of many proton-rich nuclides were accurately determined at the HIRFL-CSRfacility[2]. In this paper, we described the first isochronous mass measurement of neutron-rich nuclides at CSRe.This experiment was performed at the end of 2011. In the experiment, the primary beam of 86Kr28+ ions wasaccumulated and accelerated to an energy of 460.65 MeV/u in the synchrotron CSRm. 52-5 Data Analysis of the Schottky Mass Measurements of 152Sm Fragments显示文摘Precision mass measurements of neutron-deficient 152Sm projectile fragments were conducted in 2005 at theFRS-ESR facility at GSI Helmholtz centre[1, 2], employing the time-resolved Schottky Mass Spectrometry[3]. A newmass evaluation method has been developed in the data analysis. The systematic error in the mass determinationwas significantly reduced with the new method[4].Exotic nuclei, produced by projectile fragmentation of a 615 AMeV 152Sm primary beam in a 4.009 g/cm2beryllium target, were transmitted and B-separated by the fragment separator FRS and then injected and storedin the experimental storage ring ESR. In ESR the electron-cooling process was continuously applied to the storedions. 82-9 Half-life Measurement of 94mRu44+ at CSRe显示文摘A radioactive nucleus is characterized with an intrinsic half-life. However, for a nuclear species, the half-lives inneutral atoms could be very different from that in highly charged ions. The half-lives of some highly charged ionshave been directly measured at GSI for multiple motivations[1]. In the same case, the nuclear state(i:e the isomer)may be in the range of several tens of microseconds and their half-live can be measured using isochronous massspectrometry. The J = 8+ isomeric state in 94Ru was chosen to test this method. The half-life of this isomer is71 s [2] in neutral atoms, and the excitation energy is 2.64 MeV. The internal conversion coefficient of this decayin neutral atom is 0.335.
