2Optical observations of LIGO source GW 170817 by the Antarctic Survey Telescopes at Dome A,Antarctica显示文摘The LIGO detection of gravitational waves(GW) from merging black holes in 2015 marked the beginning of a new era in observational astronomy. The detection of an electromagnetic signal from a GW source is the critical next step to explore in detail the physics involved. The Antarctic Survey Telescopes(AST3),located at Dome A, Antarctica, is uniquely situated for rapid response time-domain astronomy with its continuous night-time coverage during the austral winter. We report optical observations of the GW source(GW 170817) in the nearby galaxy NGC 4993 using AST3. The data show a rapidly fading transient at around 1 day after the GW trigger, with the i-band magnitude declining from 17:23 ± 0:13 magnitude to 17:72 ± 0:09 magnitude in ~1:8 h. The brightness and time evolution of the optical transient associated with GW 170817 are broadly consistent with the predictions of models involving merging binary neutron stars. 3Seedling-lump integrated non-destructive monitoring for automatic transplanting with Intel RealSense depth camera显示文摘Non-destructive plant growth parameters measurement is an important concern in automatic-seedling transplanting.Recently,several image-basedmonitoring approaches have been proposed and potentially developed for several agricultural applications.The presented study proposed and developed a RealSense-based machine vision system for the close-shot seedling-lump integrated monitoring.The strategy was based on the close-shot depth information.Further,the point cloud clustering and suitable algorithms were applied to obtain the segmentation of 3D seedling models.In addition,the data processing pipeline was developed to assess the differentmorphological parameter of 4 different seedling varieties.The experiments were carried out with 4 different seedling varieties(pepper,tomato,cucumber,and lettuce)and trained under different light conditions(light and dark).Moreover,analysis results showed that therewas not significantly different(p<0.05)found towards light and dark environments due to close-shot near-infrared detection.However,the results revealed that the stem diameter relationship between RealSense and the manual method was found for R^2=0.68 cucumber,R^2=0.54 tomato,R^2=0.35 pepper,and R^2=0.58 lettuce seedlings.Whereas,the seedling height relationship between RealSense and the manual methodwas found higher than R^2=0.99,0.99,0.99,and 0.99 for pepper,tomato,cucumber,and lettuce,respectively.Based on the experiment results,it was concluded that the RGB-D integrated monitoring system with the purposed method could be practiced for nursery seedlings most promisingly without high labour requirements in terms of ease of use.The system revealed a good sturdiness and relevance for plant growth monitoring.Additionally,it has the perspective for future practical value to real-time vision servo operations for transplanting robots.Tabinda Naz Syed Liu Jizhan Zhou Xin Zhao Shengyi Yuan Yan Sami Hassan Ahmed Mohamed Imran Ali Lakhiar 2019Artificial Intelligence in Agriculture2019,,3:4

5Incorporation of layered tin(Ⅳ) phosphate in graphene framework for high performance lithium-sulfur batteries显示文摘To anchor the polysulfide and enhance the conversion kinetics of polysulfide to disulfide/sulfide is critical for improving the performance of lithium-sulfur battery.For this purpose,the graphene-supported tin(Ⅳ) phosphate(Sn(HPO_4)_2·H_2 O,SnP) composites(SnP-G) are employed as the novel sulfur hosts in this work.When compared to the graphene-sulfur and carbon-sulfur composites,the SnP-G-sulfur composites exhibit much better cycling performance at 1.0 C over 800 cycles.Meanwhile,the pouch cell fabricated with the SnP-G-sulfur cathodes also exhibits excellent performance with an initial capacity of1266.6 mAh g^(-1)(S) and capacity retention of 76.9% after 100 cycles at 0.1 C.The adsorption tests,density functional theory(DFT) calculations in combination with physical cha racterizations and electrochemical measurements provide insights into the mechanism of capture-accelerated conversion mechanism of polysulfide at the surface of SnP.DFT calculations indicate that the Li-O bond formed between Li atom(from Li_2 S_n,n=1,2,4,6,8) and O atom(from PO_3-OH in SnP) is the main reason for the strong interactions between Li_2 S_n and SnP.As a result,SnP can effectively restrain the shuttle effect and improving the cycling performance of Li-S cell.In addition,by employing the climbing-image nudged elastic band(ciNEB) methods,the energy barrier for lithium sulfide decomposition(charging reaction) on SnP is proved to decrease significantly compared to that on graphene.It can be concluded that SnP is an effective sulfur hosts acting as dual-functional accelerators for the conversion reactions of polysulfude to sulfide(discharging reaction) as well as polysulfide to sulfur(charging reaction).Haifeng Yuan Na Zhang Leiwu Tian Lei Xu Qinjun Shao Syed Danish Ali Zaidi Jianping Xiao Jian Chen 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,2:2
