13′-Daidzein sulfonate sodium improves mitochondrial functions after cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury显示文摘3′-Daidzein sulfonate sodium is a new synthetic water-soluble compound derived from daidzein(an active ingredient of the kudzu vine root). It has been shown to have a protective effect on cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury in rats. We plan to study the mechanism of its protective effect. 3′-Daidzein sulfonate sodium was injected in rats after cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury. Results showed that 3′-daidzein sulfonate sodium significantly reduced mitochondrial swelling, significantly elevated the mitochondrial membrane potential, increased mitochondrial superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase activities, and decreased mitochondrial malondialdehyde levels. 3′-Daidzein sulfonate sodium improved the structural integrity of the blood-brain barrier and reduced blood-brain barrier permeability. These findings confirmed that 3′-daidzein sulfonate sodium has a protective effect on mitochondrial functions after cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury, improves brain energy metabolism, and provides protection against blood-brain barrier damage.Wa Yuan Qin Chen Jing Zeng Hai Xiao Zhi-hua Huang Xiao Li Qiong Lei 2017Neural Regeneration Research2017,12,2:10

10Synthesis of amorphous Pd-based nanocatalysts for efficient alcoholysis of styrene oxide and electrochemical hydrogen evolution显示文摘Amorphous nanomaterials with long-range disordered structures could possess distinct properties and promising applications,especially in catalysis,as compared with their conventional crystalline counterparts.It is imperative to achieve the controlled preparation of amorphous noble metal-based nanomaterials for the exploration of their phase-dependent applications.Here,we report a facile wet-chemical reduction strategy to synthesize various amorphous multimetallic Pd-based nanomaterials,including PdRu,PdRh,and PdRuRh.The phase-dependent catalytic performances of distinct Pd-based nanomaterials towards diverse catalytic applications have been demonstrated.Specifically,the usage of PdRu nanocatalysts with amorphous and crystalline face-centered cubic(fcc)phases can efficiently switch the ring-opening route of styrene oxide to obtain different products with high selectivity through alcoholysis reaction and hydrogenation reaction,respectively.Moreover,when used as an electrocatalyst for hydrogen evolution reaction(HER),the synthesized amorphous PdRh nanocatalyst exhibits low overpotential and high turnover frequency values,outperforming its crystalline fcc counterpart and most of the reported Pd-based HER electrocatalysts.Yiyao Ge Jingjie Ge Biao Huang Xixi Wang Guigao Liu Xiang-Huan Shan Lu Ma Bo Chen Guanghua Liu Songmo Du An Zhang Hongfei Cheng Qingbo Wa Shiyao Lu Lujiang Li Qinbai Yun Kuo Yuan Qinxin Luo Zhichuan J.Xu Yonghua Du Hua Zhang 2023Nano Research2023,16,4:0

12Impact of climate change on outdoor design conditions and implications to peak loads显示文摘This study exams the impact of climate change on outdoor design conditions and peak loads of five Chinese cities over the five major climate zones for the winter and summer conditions.The design dry-bulb temperature(DDBT)and the coincident wet-bulb temperature(CWBT)for two 30-year periods;1971–2000 and 1984–2013 were analysed.It was found that the DDBT of the period 1984–2013 was higher than that of the period 1971–2000,whereas the CWBT and the corresponding outdoor enthalpy of the period 1984–2013 was lower than that of 1971–2000 at the various cumulative frequencies.This trend implies that the increment in conductive heat gain through the building envelope due to the rising temperature can be lower than the reduction in fresh air load due to the lower outdoor air enthalpy.In this case,the peak cooling loads may reduce in all five cities under study,and this is different from the widely held view that global warming will lead to more stringent outdoor design conditions,higher peak cooling loads and larger heating,ventilation and air conditioning(HVAC)plants than the current or historical status.The implications to the“free-cooling”of HVAC systems with enthalpy control are discussed as well.Xujie Huo Liu Yang Danny Hin Wa Li Isaac Lun Siwei Lou Yuan Shi 2022Building Simulation2022,15,12:0
