1Beyond displays: The recent progress of liquid crystals for bio/chemical detections显示文摘Liquid crystals (LCs) are often known as electronic displays and have become ubiquitous in our daily life, apart from that, in the past 10 years, LCs have been investigated as exquisitely sensitive reporters for developing new molecular sensing and detection tools. The unique and primary advantage of this class of intriguing materials is the perturbation of the local ordering LCs at mo-lecular scale by bio/chemical species can be communicated within LC molecules and extended over microns, allowing the observation of the optical signals by microscope or even the naked eye. 3Construction of pH-Triggered DNA Hydrogels Based on Hybridization Chain Reactions显示文摘As a novel type of bio-functional material,DNA hydrogels have attracted more and more attention due to their successful applications in 3D cell culturing and tissue engineering for the designable and programmable responsiveness.Herein,we have developed a pH-triggered DNA hydrogel based on a clamped hybridization chain reaction(C-HCR).In this system,a DNA switch was designed,which can release the initiator strand in a controllable way via the formation of the C-G-C4 triplex under the pH stimuli.While the pre-gelation solution is stable in neutral environment,the C-HCR will trigger the sol-gel transition as the pH decreased to 5.0.This strategy has endowed the DNA hydrogel with good controllability for triggering,which also shows potential in intellectual responsiveness to certain stimuli.LI Yujie CHEN Jie DONG Yuanchen LIU Huajie LIU Dongsheng 2020Chemical Research in Chinese Universities2020,36,2:1

5Reinforcing DNA Supramolecular Hydrogel with Polymeric Multiple-Unit Linker显示文摘While supramolecular hydrogels have received growing interest due to their unique dynamic features,their relatively weak mechanical properties have largely limited their biomedical applications.In this study,we propose and demonstrate a strategy to reinforce the mechanical properties of supramolecular hydrogel by introducing polymeric multiple-unit linker(PMUL),which incorporates multiple supramolecular units into a polymeric backbone to crosslink supramolecular hydrogel.We demonstrated that PMUL can effectively improve the kinetic stability of supramolecular crosslinkers through multiple-unit interaction in a DNA supramolecular hydrogel model system,thus leading to higher mechanical strength.Meanwhile,the dynamic features of the supramolecular hydrogels have been well preserved,including shear-thinning,self-healing properties,and reversible thermal responsiveness.This strategy offers a simple but effective way for mechanical reinforcement of supramolecular hydrogels to construct novel biomaterials.Yujie Li Yuqiao Ding Bo Yang Tianyang Cao Jiangfei Xu Yuanchen Dong Quan Chen Lijin Xu Dongsheng Liu 2023CCS Chemistry2023,5,2:0
