| 5 | Strong and Superhydrophobic Wood with Aligned Cellulose Nanofibers as a Waterproof Structural Material显示文摘Lightweight structural materials are important for the energy efficiency of applications,particularly those in the building sector.Here,inspired by nature,we developed a strong,superhydrophobic,yet lightweight material by simple in situ growth of nano-SiO2 and subsequent densification of the wood substrate.In situ generation of SiO2 nanoparticles both inside the wood channels and on the wood surfaces gives the material superhydrophobicity,with static and dynamic contact angles of 159.4°and 3°,respectively.Densification of the wood to remove most of the spaces among the lumen and cell walls results in a laminated,dense structure,with aligned cellulose nanofibers,which in turn contributes to a high mechanical strength up to 384.2 MPa(7-times higher than natural wood).Such treatment enables the strong and superhydrophobic wood(SH-Wood)to be stable and have excellent water,acid,and alkaline resistance.The high mechanical strength of SH-Wood combined with its excellent structural stability in harsh environments,as well its low density,positions the strong and superhydrophobic wood as a promising candidate for strong,lightweight,and durable structural materials that could potentially replace steel. | Yongfeng Li Chaoji Chen Jianwei Song Chunpeng Yang Yudi Kuang Azhar Vellore Emily Hitz Mingwei Zhu Feng Jiang Yonggang Yao Amy Gong Ashlie Martini Liangbing Hu | 2020 | Chinese Journal of Chemistry2020,38,8: | 1 |
| 6 | Genetic variants at 10q 23.33 are associated with plasma lipid levels in a Chinese population显示文摘Plasma lipid abnormalities are implicated in the pathogenic process of type 2 diabetes.The IDE-KIF11-HHEX gene cluster on chromosome 10q23.33 has been identified as a susceptibility locus for type 2 diabetes.We hypothesized that genetic variants at 10q23.33 may be associated with plasma lipid concentrations.Seven tagging single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs:rs7923837,rs2488075,rs947591,rs11187146,rs5015480,rs4646957 and rs1111875) at 10q23.33 were genotyped in 3,281 subjects from a Han Chinese population,using the TaqMan OpenArray and Sequenom MassARRAY platforms.Multiple linear regression analyses showed that SNP rs7923837 in the 3'-flanking region of HHEX was significantly associated with triglyceride levels(P = 0.019,0.031 mmol/L average decrease per minor G allele) and that rs2488075 and rs947591 in the downstream region of HHEX were significantly associated with total cholesterol levels(P = 0.041,0.058 mmol/L average decrease per minor C allele and P = 0.018,0.063 mmol/L average decrease per minor A allele,respectively).However,the other four SNPs(rs11187146,rs5015480,rs4646957 and rs1111875) were not significantly associated with any plasma lipid concentrations in this Chinese population.Our data suggest that genetic variants in the IDE-KIF11-HHEX gene cluster at 10q23.33 may partially explain the variation of plasma lipid levels in the Han Chinese population.Further studies are required to confirm these findings in other populations. | Sijun Liu Yun Qian Feng Lu Meihua Dong Yudi Lin Huizhang Li Chong Shen Juncheng Dai Yue Jiang Guangfu Jin Zhibin Hu Hongbing Shen | 2014 | The Journal of Biomedical Research2014,28,1: | 1 |

| 13 | Myc inhibition tips the immune balance to promote antitumor immunity显示文摘Aberrant expression of Myc is one of the most common oncogenic events in human cancers.Scores of Myc inhibitors are currently under development for treating Myc-driven cancers.In addition to directly targeting tumor cells,Myc inhibition has been shown to modulate the tumor microenvironment to promote tumor regression.However,the effect of Myc inhibition on immune cells in the tumor microenvironment remains poorly understood.Here,we show that the adaptive immune system plays a vital role in the antitumor effect of pharmacologic inhibition of Myc.Combining genetic and pharmacologic approaches,we found that Myc inhibition enhanced CD8 T cell function by suppressing the homeostasis of regulatory T(Treg)cells and the differentiation of resting Treg(rTreg)cells to activated Treg(aTreg)cells in tumors.Importantly,we demonstrated that different Myc expression levels confer differential sensitivity of T cell subsets to pharmacologic inhibition of Myc.Although ablation of the Myc gene has been shown to suppress CD8 T cell function,Treg cells,which express much less Myc protein than CD8 T cells,are more sensitive to Myc inhibitors.The differential sensitivity of CD8 T and Treg cells to Myc inhibitors resulted in enhanced CD8 T cell function upon Myc inhibition.Our findings revealed that Myc inhibitors can induce an antitumor immune response during tumor progression. | Chao Yang Yun Liu Yudi Hu Liang Fang Zhe Huang Huanhuan Cui Jun Xie Yazhen Hong Wei Chen Nengming Xiao Qiyuan Li Wen-Hsien Liu Changchun Xiao | 2022 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2022,19,9: | 0 |
| 14 | Concurrent validity of evaluating knee kinematics using Kinect system during rehabilitation exercise显示文摘Squats,ascending and descending stairs,and lunges are three functional movements popularly used in clinical rehabilitation.This study aimed to analyze the validity of the Kinect v2 for assessing the kinematics of three functional knee movements.An intelligent program was developed for real-time kinematic evaluation of the knee joint using the Kinect v2 system.Based on image recognition technology,images from the Kinect v2 depth camera were used to develop a kinematic evaluation program for knee joint movements.The kinematics of 30 healthy volunteers during stair ascent and descent,squatting,and lunging movements were collected synchronously with both VICON and Kinect systems.The peak knee angles in the sagittal and coronal planes were extracted and analyzed.A paired samples t-test and the relative coefficient within the groups were used for statistical analysis of the validity of the Kinect compared to the VICON.There was no significant difference(p>0.05)in bilateral knee flexion angle when lunging.No significant difference(p>0.05)was found in left knee flexion during squatting exercises.Although the Kinect generally underestimated knee flexion and valgus,it displayed excellent consistency and good to excellent agreement with the VICON motion analysis system.The results demonstrated that the Kinect based measurement tool for analyzing knee kinematics has the potential to be an effective clinical training device for maintaining knee alignment during exercise. | Guojiong Hu Wenli Wang Bin Chen Hongping Zhi Yudi Li Yixin Shen Kuan Wang | 2021 | Medicine in Novel Technology and Devices2021,,3: | 0 |

| 16 | A Study on the Effectiveness of Decitabine Combined with a Half-Dose Priming Regimen in the Treatment of Elderly Patients with Acute Myeloid Leukemia显示文摘Objective:To investigate the clinical effects of combining decitabine with a half-dose priming regimen in the treatment of elderly patients with acute myeloid leukemia.Methods:This study was conducted in Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital from January 2019 to January 2022.Sxty patients were recruited as the research subects.The patients received different treatments and were randomly divided into two groups,with 30 cases in each group,one of which was treated with conventional priming regimen(control group),and the other was treated with decitabine combined with a half-dose priming regimen(study group).The two groups were compared and analyzed in terms of the effectiveness of treatment.Results:The rate of symptom relief in the study group was 96.67%,which was significantly higher than that in the control group(76.67%)(p<0.05).Before treatment,there was no significant difference in the quality-of-life scores between the two groups,with p>0.05.The patients in the study group had sigificantly longer discase free survival and overall survival than those in the control group,with p<0.05.The effectiveness of treatment in the study group was also better.Conclusion:The use of decitabine im combination with a half dose priming regimen for the treatment of elderly patients with acute myeloid lcukemia is effective in improving patients'quality of life,relieving symptoms.and prolonging their survival. | Ying Gao Lan Li Xingxing Hu Yudi Miao | 2022 | Proceedings of Anticancer Research2022,6,3: | 0 |
