1Germination inhibitors detected in Sapium sebiferum seeds显示文摘This study identifies endogenous inhibitors of germination associated with seed dormancy in Sapium sebiferum,Chinese tallow.Seed extracts were separated into five distinct fractions(petroleum ether,ether,ethyl acetate,methanol,and aqueous)and tested for their effect on germination of cabbage seeds.There were no significant differences in germination percentages and germination index(GI)between the solvents and the control.The five fractions differentially reduced germination percentage and GI values of cabbage seeds.According to the GI results,the greatest inhibition was with the ether fraction followed by methanol,ethyl acetate,petroleum ether,and aqueous fractions.Gas chromatography–mass spectrometry identified the constituents of the four organic fractions.Compared with the mass spectrum of the National Institute of Standards and Technology library,a compound was confirmed,provided it was more than 85%similar.Analysis of ether extracts identified four compounds:butylated hydroxytoluene(BHT;19.7%),1,2-benzenediol(4.1%),phydroxycinnamic acid,ethyl ester(2.8%),and n-hexadecanoic acid(1.4%).Fourteen,20,and 9 compounds were identified in methanol,ethyl acetate,and petroleum ether extracts,respectively.The IC50 of BHT(the concentration at which BHT inhibits radicle growth by 50%)was 54.8 mg/L,indicating that the presence of BHT might be the primary cause of dormancy in S.sebiferum seeds.Tingting Zhao Cunmeng Qian Yunpeng Gao Li Chen Mingwei Zhu Yueting Pan Shuxian Li 2019Journal of Forestry Research2019,30,6:4

5High sensitivity SPR refractive index sensor with high resolution based on anti-resonance fiber显示文摘We proposed a surface plasmon resonance(SPR)refractive index sensor based on hollow-core anti-resonance fiber(HC-ARF).Gold was filled in two symmetric cladding tubes of the fiber,while the analyte was filled in central air holes.The sensing performance was investigated by the finite element method(FEM).Results show that two resonance peaks(a crossing point around 1030 nm and an anti-crossing region around 1065 nm)appear for x-polarization(x-pol)core mode coupling with the surface plasmon polariton(SPP)mode.Moreover,the sensitivity was also analyzed.The sensitivity increased with the increase of cladding tube thickness t.The sensor with thickness t=1.7μm gave a wavelength sensitivity of 7350—14790 nm/RIU in the refractive index range of 1.33—1.45 with resonance wavelength from 1900 nm to 450 nm.Meanwhile,the resolution of 10^(-6) RIU was achieved.Thanks to high sensitivity and resolution,the proposed sensor has potential applications in glucose detection.ZHANG Ailing LI Yueting PAN Fei PAN Honggang LIU Fei 2022Optoelectronics Letters2022,18,4:1

9SARS-CoV-2-specific immune response in COVID-19 convalescent individuals显示文摘We collected blood from coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)convalescent individuals and investigated SARS-CoV-2-specific humoral and cellular immunity in these discharged patients.Follow-up analysis in a cohort of 171 patients at 4-11 months after the onset revealed high levels of IgG antibodies.A total of 78.1%(164/210)of the specimens tested positive for neutralizing antibody(NAb).SARS-CoV-2 antigen peptide pools-stimulated-IL-2 and-IFN-y response can distinguish COVID-19 convalescent individuals from healthy donors.Interestingly,NAb survival was significantly affected by the antigen peptide pools-stimulated-IL-2 response,-IL-8 response,and-IFN-y response.The antigen peptide pools-activated CD8+T cell counts were correlated with NAb.The antigen peptide pools-activated natural killer(NK)cell counts in convalescent individuals were correlated with NAb and disease severity.Our data suggested that the development of NAb is associated with the activation of T cells and NK cells.Our work provides a basis for further analysis of the protective immunity to SARS-CoV-2 and for understanding the pathogenesis of COVID-19.It also has implications for the development of an effective vaccine for SARS-CoV-2 infection.Yunbao Pan Xianghu Jiang Liu Yang Liangjun Chen Xiaojiao Zeng Guohong Liu Yueting Tang Chungen Qian Xinming Wang Fangming Cheng Jun Lin Xinghuan Wang Yirong Li 2021Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,8:0

11Aknowledge-guided and traditional Chinese medicine informed approach for herb recommendation显示文摘Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)is an interesting research topic in China’s thousands of years of history.With the recent advances in artificial intelligence technology,some researchers have started to focus on learning the TCM prescriptions in a data-driven manner.This involves appropriately recommending a set of herbs based on patients’symptoms.Most existing herb recommendation models disregard TCM domain knowledge,for example,the interactions between symptoms and herbs and the TCM-informed observations(i.e.,TCM formulation of prescriptions).In this paper,we propose a knowledge-guided and TCM-informed approach for herb recommendation.The knowledge used includes path interactions and co-occurrence relationships among symptoms and herbs from a knowledge graph generated from TCM literature and prescriptions.The aforementioned knowledge is used to obtain the discriminative feature vectors of symptoms and herbs via a graph attention network.To increase the ability of herb prediction for the given symptoms,we introduce TCM-informed observations in the prediction layer.We apply our proposed model on a TCM prescription dataset,demonstrating significant improvements over state-of-the-art herb recommendation methods.Zhe JIN Yin ZHANG Jiaxu MIAO Yi YANG Yueting ZHUANG Yunhe PAN 2023Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering2023,24,10:0
