5Comparative study on the effects and efficiencies of three sublimation drying methods for mushrooms显示文摘Freeze drying(FD)yields the best quality of dried mushrooms but needs long drying time and higher cost.Air drying(AD)gives relatively poor product quality.In order to achieve faster drying along with high product quality,microwave freeze drying(MFD)and atmospheric freeze drying(AFD)were developed to dry mushrooms.By comparison of three sublimation drying processes,it was concluded that FD could lead to the best product quality,but cost the highest energy consumption.AFD mushrooms had the worst quality and longest drying time,but the lowest energy consumption.Compared with FD and AFD,MFD could get relatively acceptable quality and drying efficiency.As a result,MFD can be used to replace traditional FD,and AFD also should be popularized because of its low energy consumption.Duan Xu Liu Wei Ren Guangyue Liu Wenchao Liu Yunhong 2015International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2015,8,1:13
6Synthesis and characterization of LiNi_(0.95-x)Co_xAl_(0.05)O_2 for lithium-ion batteries显示文摘Samples of LiNi0.95?xCoxAl0.05O2 (x = 0.10 and 0.15) and LiNiO2, synthesized by the solid-state reaction at 725°C for 24 h from LiOH·H2O, Ni2O3, Co2O3, and Al(OH)3 under an oxygen stream, were characterized by TG-DTA, XRD, SEM, and electrochemical tests. Simultaneous doping of cobalt and aluminum at the Ni-site in LiNiO2 was tried to improve the cathode performance for lithium-ion batteries. The results showed that co-doping (especially, 5 at.% Al and 10 at.% Co) definitely had a large beneficial effect in increasing the capacity (186.2 mA?h/g of the first discharge capacity for LiNi0.85Co0.10Al0.05O2) and cycling behavior (180.1 mA?h/g after 10 cycles for LiNi0.85Co0.10Al0.05O2) compared with 180.7 mA?h/g of the first discharge capacity and 157.7 mA?h/g of the tenth discharge capacity for LiNiO2, respectively. 8Chaihushugan decoction exerts antiepileptic effects by increasing hippocampal glutamate metabolism in pentylenetetrazole-kindled rats显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the antiepileptic effects of Chaihushugan decoction(CHSGD) in rats with pentylenetetrazole(PTZ)-induced seizures and to discuss the impact of CHSGD on glutamate metabolism, a hypothesized underlying mechanism of seizure reduction.METHODS: Fifty Wistar rats were divided randomly into either control(n = 10) or experimental(n = 40)groups. Rats in the control group were administered physiological saline intraperitoneally. A subconvulsive dose of PTZ(35 mg/kg) was administered intraperitoneally to rats in the experimental group to induce seizures. The fully PTZ-kindled rats were then randomly divided into five subgroups(n = 8 each) based on the following treatment categories: physiological saline, VPA(200 mg/kg), CHSGD(2.5 g/kg), CHSGD(5 g/kg), or CHSGD(10 g/kg),administered orally once per day, respectively. On day 28 following initiation of drug treatment, seizures were monitored. The rats were then sacrificed, and hippocampal dissections were performed for subsequent studies.RESULTS: CHSGD significantly prolonged the latency of myoclonic, clonic, and tonic seizures, while decreasing overall seizure rates in the kindled rats.The measured concentrations of 2-[N-(7-nitrobenz-2-oxa-1,3-diazol-4-yl) amino]-2-deoxy-d-glucose(2-NBDG) and glutamate were significantly lower in the hippocampi of kindled rats in groups treated with CHSGD compared with those treated with PTZ alone. In addition, CHSGD was found to up-regulate both the expression of glutamate transporter-1(GLT-1) protein and the activity of glutamine synthetase(GS) in the hippocampi of kindled rats.CONCLUSION: These results suggest that CHSGD has antiepileptic effects on PTZ-induced seizures.The results further suggest an increase in glutamate metabolism at the synaptic cleft is a putative underlying mechanism of seizure reduction.Yu Yunhong Xie Wei Wang Changjun 2015Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2015,35,6:9

10PEEK modified PLA shape memory blends:towards enhanced mechanical and deformation properties显示文摘Polylactic acid(PLA)is one of the most promising shape memory polymers with outstanding biocompatibility,while poly(ether ether ketone)(PEEK)is a special engineering plastic with excellent mechanical performance.In this work,PEEK was selected to modify PLA,and a series of PLA blended with different PEEK contents(PLA/PEEK blends)were obtained.The effects of PEEK on thermodynamic,mechanical and shape memory properties of PLA/PEEK blends were investigated.The results showed that the thermal stabillity of the PL A/PEEK blend was improved with the PEEK content increase.The tensile strength reached the highest value of 20.6 MPa when the PEEK content was 10%.While the best shape memory performance occurred with the PEEK content of 15%,the shape recovery time was less than 2 s,and the shape fixation/recovery ratio was more than 99%.Furthermore,the programmable mimetic flower opening process was achieved by using PLA/PEEK blends with different PEEK content ratios.The above results indicated that the blend of an appropriate proportion of PEEK had positive effects on mechanical and deformation performances of PLA.Lan ZHANG Zhaohua LIN Qiang ZHOU Suqian MA Yunhong LIANG Zhihui ZHANG 2020Frontiers of Materials Science2020,14,2:8

12Denitrification and biofilm growth in a pilot-scale biofilter packed with suspended carriers for biological nitrogen removal from secondary effluent显示文摘Tertiary denitrification is an effective method for nitrogen removal from wastewater. A pilot-scale biofilter packed with suspended carriers was operated for tertiary denitrification with ethanol as the organic carbon source. Long-term performance, biokinetics of denitrification and biofilm growth were evaluated under filtration velocities of 6, 10 and 14 m/hr. The pilot-scale biofilter removed nitrate from the secondary effluent effectively, and the nitrate nitrogen(NO_3-N) removal percentage was 82%, 78% and 55% at the filtration velocities of 6, 10 and 14 m/hr, respectively. At the filtration velocities of 6 and 10 m/hr, the nitrate removal loading rate increased with increasing influent nitrate loading rates, while at the filtration velocity of 14 m/hr, the removal loading rate and the influent loading rate were uncorrelated.During denitrification, the ratio of consumed chemical oxygen demand to removed NO_3-N was 3.99–4.52 mg/mg. Under the filtration velocities of 6, 10 and 14 m/hr, the maximum denitrification rate was 3.12, 4.86 and 4.42 g N/(m^2·day), the half-saturation constant was 2.61, 1.05 and 1.17 mg/L, and the half-order coefficient was 0.22, 0.32 and 0.24(mg/L)1/2/min,respectively. The biofilm biomass increased with increasing filtration velocity and was 2845,5124 and 7324 mg VSS/m^2 at filtration velocities of 6, 10 and 14 m/hr, respectively. The highest biofilm density was 44 mg/cm^3 at the filtration velocity of 14 m/hr. 19Kinetic study of the gas-phase reaction of O3 with three unsaturated alcohols显示文摘Rate constants for the reactions of ozone with 1-octen-3-ol, 1-nonen-3-ol and 1-nonen-4-ol have been determined at 298 ± 1 K and atmospheric pressure for the first time. The experiments were performed in a 100-L FEP Teflon film bag using absolute rate method; the rate constants were(1.91 ± 0.19) × 10^(-17),(1.89 ± 0.20) × 10^(-17), and(0.83 ± 0.08) × 10^(-17)cm^3/(molecule·sec) for 1-octen-3-ol, 1-nonen-3-ol, and 1-nonen-4-ol, respectively. The rate constants have been compared with those of unsaturated alcohols structural homologs, and used to estimate the reaction reactivity. The electronegativity of carbon–carbon double bond was calculated by atomic charges analysis. The calculated results show that the electronic effect of the lone pair electrons of hydroxyl oxygen is the main cause of the difference in rate coefficient. 20Tunable optical delay line based on integrated grating-assisted contradirectional couplers显示文摘Tunable optical delay lines are one of the key building blocks in optical communication and microwave systems.In this work, tunable optical delay lines based on integrated grating-assisted contradirectional couplers are proposed and experimentally demonstrated. The device performance is comprehensively improved in terms of parameter optimization, apodization analysis, and electrode design. Tunable group delay lines of 50 ps at different wavelengths within the bandwidth of 12 nm are realized with a grating length of 1.8 mm. Under thermal tuning mode, the actual delay tuning range is around 20 ps at 7.2 V voltage. At last, a new scheme adopting an ultra-compact reflector for doubling group delay is proposed and verified, achieving a large group delay line of 400 ps and a large dispersion value up to 5.5 × 10~6 ps∕(nm · km) within bandwidth of 12 nm.
