| 1 | Lowering reaction temperature: Electrochemical ammonia synthesis by coupling various electrolytes and catalysts显示文摘Ammonia is a vital emerging energy carrier and storage medium in the future hydrogen economy, even presenting relevant advantages compared with methanol due to the higher hydrogen content(17.6 wt% for ammonia versus 12.5 wt% for methanol). The rapidly growing demand for ammonia is still dependent on the conventional high-temperature and high-pressure Haber–Bosch process, which can deliver a conversion rate of about 10%–15%. However, the overall process requires a large amount of fossil fuels,resulting in serious environmental problems. Alternatively, electrochemical routes show the potential to greatly reduce the energy consumption, including sustainable energy sources and simplify the reactor design. Electrolytes perform as indispensable reaction medium during electrochemical processes, which can be further classified into solid oxide electrolytes, molten salt electrolytes, polymer electrolytes, and liquid electrolytes. | 2 | Compact and robust supercontinuum generation and post-compression using multiple thin plates显示文摘We report on compact and robust supercontinuum generation and post-compression using transmission of light through multiple thin solid plates at the Swiss FEL X-ray free-electron laser facility.A single stage consisting of three thin plates followed by a chirped mirror compressor achieves compression of initially 30-fs pulses with 800-nm center wavelength to sub-10-fs duration.We also demonstrate a two-stage implementation to compress the pulses further to sub-5-fs duration.With the two-stage setup,the generated supercontinuum includes wavelengths ranging from 500 to 1100 nm.The multiplate setup is compact,robust,and stable,which makes it ideal for applications at free-electron laser facilities such as pump-probe experiments and laser-arrival timing tools. | Xinhua Xie Yunpei Deng Steven L.Johnson | 2021 | High Power Laser Science and Engineering2021,9,4: | 3 |
| 3 | Evaluation and intelligent deployment of coal and coalbed methane coupling coordinated exploitation based on Bayesian network and cuckoo search显示文摘Coal and coalbed methane(CBM)coordinated exploitation is a key technology for the safe exploitation of both resources.However,existing studies lack the quantification and evaluation of the degree of coordination between coal mining and coalbed methane extraction.In this study,the concept of coal and coalbed methane coupling coordinated exploitation was proposed,and the corresponding evaluation model was established using the Bayesian principle.On this basis,the objective function of coal and coalbed methane coordinated exploitation deployment was established,and the optimal deployment was determined through a cuckoo search.The results show that clarifying the coupling coordinated level of coal and coalbed methane resource exploitation in coal mines is conducive to adjusting the deployment plan in advance.The case study results show that the evaluation and intelligent deployment method proposed in this paper can effectively evaluate the coupling coordinated level of coal and coalbed methane resource exploitation and intelligently optimize the deployment of coal mine operations.The optimization results demonstrate that the safe and efficient exploitation of coal and CBM resources is promoted,and coal mining and coalbed methane extraction processes show greater cooperation.The observations and findings of this study provide a critical reference for coal mine resource exploitation in the future. | Quanle Zou Zihan Chen Zhiheng Cheng Yunpei Liang Wenjie Xu Peiran Wen Bichuan Zhang Han Liu Fanjie Kong | 2022 | International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2022,32,6: | 1 |

| 7 | Calibration of discrete element modeling: Scaling laws and dimensionless analysis显示文摘In this paper,dynamic similarity conditions are derived for discrete element simulations by non-dimensionalising the governing equations.These conditions must be satisfied so that the numerical model is a good representation of the physical phenomenon.For a pure mechanical system,if three independent ratios of the corresponding quantities between the two models are set,then the ratios of other quantities must be chosen according to the similarity principles.The scalability of linear and non-linear contact laws is also investigated.Numerical tests of 3D uni-axial compression are carried out to verify the theoretical results.Another example is presented to show how to calibrate the model according to laboratory data and similarity conditions.However,it is impossible to reduce computer time by scaling up or down certain parameters and continue to uphold the similarity conditions.The results in this paper provide guidelines to assist discrete element modelers in setting up the model parameters in a physically meaningful way. | Yucang Wang Peter Mora Yunpei Liang | 2022 | Particuology2022,20,3: | 1 |

| 10 | Cross-project prediction for rock mass using shuffled TBM big dataset and knowledge-based machine learning methods显示文摘Extensive research has confirmed the successful prediction of rock mass quality in tunnel boring machine(TBM)construction using machine learning methods based on big data collected during the boring process.However,the developed model cannot be applied to a new project owing to the different mechanical and environmental features involved in different projects.This study tries to combine the datasets of three TBM projects whose cutterhead diameters are 5.2,7.9 and 9.8 m,respectively.In this study,machine learning focused on predictions of a binary rock mass quality system was implemented using this unified dataset by adding the diameter and disc cutter number as new attributes into the input.The process consists of:(1)individual learning for the three respective datasets,(2)shuffled learning for the unified dataset containing randomly distributed information from the three projects,and(3)crossed learning aimed at validating that the algorithm developed on the unified dataset can produce predictions with equally acceptable accuracies as those obtained in the individual learning.It is anticipated that with more datasets joining this cross-project learning,we will be able to develop a machine learning algorithm that is suitable for new projects with a wide range of cutterhead diameters and disc cutter numbers at the beginning of the tunnel excavation. | ZHANG YunPei CHEN ZuYu JIN Feng JING LiuJie XING Hai LI PengYu | 2023 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2023,66,3: | 1 |
| 11 | Restoration of Folk Document Covers from the Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China显示文摘The covers of booklets and books in folk documents primarily serve to protect the pages.Owing to long-term storage limitations,a considerable number of book covers have suffered varying degrees of damage.Following the principles of restoration,a comparative analysis and restoration of folk document covers were conducted,selecting four different types of carriers from the Taihang Mountain Documents,ranging from the Qing dynasty to the Republican Era.These carriers included hemp,mulberry bark,and machinemade paper,and cotton blue cloth.Each cover type was matched with an appropriate restoration paper,and different methods were employed during the restoration process.Through restoration,the previously damaged document covers can continue to fulfill their role in protecting the books,thereby extending the lifespan of these four folk documents. | Jiao Yao Fujiang Geng Huanhuan Wang Yunpei Lu | 2023 | Paper And Biomaterials2023,8,3: | 0 |
