1Redox-neutral photocatalytic strategy for selective C–C bond cleavage of lignin and lignin models via PCET process显示文摘It remains challenging to achieve the selective cleavage of C–C bonds in lignin or lignin model compounds to produce aromatic products in high yield and selectivity.We have developed a redox-neutral photocatalytic strategy to accomplish this goal in both b-O-4 and b-1 lignin models at room temperature(RT)via proton-coupled electron transfer(PCET)process without any pretreatments of substrate,by adjusting the alkalinity of base to obtain a lignin models/base PCET pair with a bond dissociation free energy close to 102 kcal/mol.Without breaking down C_b–Ccbond and any C–O bonds,this PCET method is 100%atom economy and produces exclusive Ca–C_bbond cleavage products,such as benzaldehydes(up to 97%)and phenyl ethers(up to 96%),in high to excellent yields and selectivities.Preliminary studies indicated that the PCET strategy is also effective for the depolymerization of native lignin at RT,thus providing significantly important foundation to the depolymerization of lignin.Yinling Wang Yue Liu Jianghua He Yuetao Zhang 2019Science Bulletin2019,64,22:8
2Economic feasibility of large-scale hydro–solar hybrid power including long distance transmission显示文摘Solar PV is expected to become the most cost-competitive renewable energy owing to the rapidly decreasing cost of the system. On the other hand, hydropower is a high-quality and reliable regulating power source that can be bundled with solar PV to improve the economic feasibility of long-distance transmitted power. In this paper, a quantification model is established taking into account the regulating capacity of the reservoir, the characteristics of solar generation, and cost of hydro and solar PV with long-distance transmission based on the installed capacity ratio of hydro–solar hybrid power. Results indicate that for hydropower stations with high regulating capacity and generation factor of approximately 0.5, a hydro–solar installed capacity ratio of 1:1 will yield overall optimal economic performance, whereas for hydropower stations with daily regulating capacity reservoir and capacity factor of approximately 0.65, the optimal hydro–solar installed capacity ratio is approximately 1:0.3. 3Lewis pairs polymerization of polar vinyl monomers显示文摘The globally increasing demands for polymer materials stimulate the significantly intense attention focused on the Lewis pair polymerization(LPP) of various polar vinyl monomers catalyzed by Lewis pairs(LPs) composed of Lewis acid(LA) and Lewis base(LB). According to the degree of interaction between LA and LB, LPs could be divided into classical Lewis adduct(CLA), interacting Lewis pair(ILP) and frustrated Lewis pair(FLP). Regulation of the Lewis basicity, Lewis acidity, and steric effects of these LPs has a significant impact on the polymer chain initiation, propagation and termination as well as chain transfer reaction during polymerization. Compared with other polymerization strategies, LPP has shown several unique advantages towards the polymerization of polar vinyl monomers such as high activity, control or livingness, mild conditions, and complete chemo-or regioselectivity. 4Engineering acid dew temperature: the limitation for flue gas heat recovery显示文摘In order to study how deep we can reduce the temperature of exhaust flue gas, an experiment focusing on the combined influence of ash deposition and acid condensation on the heat transfer characteristics of the heat exchanger was carried out in a 300-MW boiler unit. An annular tube was inserted into the flue gas duct between the air preheater and the electrostatic precipitator. The water with given temperature firstly entered the inner tube and then flowed into the outer tube at the end of the inner tube. It is found that heat transfer performance drops sharply at fixed temperature range under given coal quality. The turning temperature is defined as the engineering acid dew temperature(EADT). When the inlet water temperature is under the EADT, ash sticks to the tube and is difficult to blow off, and thus the flow resistance rises. Furthermore, the corrosion can be observed obviously. From the point of economy and reliability, EADT is the limitation for flue gas heat recovery. 5Tribological properties of aqueous solutions with lauric acid random copolyether (LPE) added显示文摘This work presents the results of tribological investigations of lubricating substances composed of water and a nonionic surfactant:lauric acid random copolyether(LPE),as additive.At the current stage of investigation,aqueous solutions with LPE additives are prepared and subsequently the lowering friction and reducing wear behaviors are tested by means of friction/wear tester,in conjunction with that the film forming properties experiments are carried out with a nanoscale film thickness measure apparatus.The contact is under condition of steel-steel tribo-pair.The results show that the coefficient of friction measured decreases considerably to about over 60%relative to water.The film thickness data of friction process lubricated by aqueous solutions with LPE added show that the lubrication is in boundary lubrication regime.The results indicate that aqueous solutions with LPE added can be used to improve the lubricity and they may be applied to real tribological systems.ZHANG ChaoHui LIU SiSi SUN YueTao 2013Science China(Technological Sciences)2013,56,12:2
6Cephalopods-inspired Repairable MWCNTs/PDMS Conductive Elastomers for Sensitive Strain Sensor显示文摘Flexible electronic devices based on reversible bonds for self-curing capabilities arouses extensive interest.However,most of the composite conductive elastomers have the problems of poor mechanical properties and slow recovery of mechanical properties during multiple stretching,which hinder their stability in continuous operation.In this study,hyperbranched-MWCNTs/hyperbranched-PDMS self-healable conductive elastomers inspired by cephalopods were successfully developed.The prepared conductive elastomer exhibited good self-healing ability(91%)at room temperature excited by multiple reversible interactions.The prepared elastomer showed outstanding mechanical properties and anti-fatigue ability,so that it can cope with more arduous tasks.Moreover,the elastomer was sensitive to the change of stress states and can be used as a stable strain sensor.Therefore,the self-repairing conductive elastomer has potential practicability in the fields of human-computer interaction,motion monitoring,soft robot and so on.Kaiming Zhang Zhe Wang Yuetao Liu Haoyu Zhao Chuanhui Gao Yumin Wu 2022Chinese Journal of Polymer Science2022,40,4:2
7CeCl_(3)-Promoted Simultaneous Photocatalytic Cleavage and Amination of C_(α)–C_(β)Bond in Lignin Model Compounds and Native Lignin显示文摘It remains challenging to achievevaluableplatformchemicals from lignin because of itscomplicated polymeric structure and inherent inert chemical activities.So far,only a fewexamples have been reported for the selective cleavage of C–C bonds in lignin due to their intrinsic inertness and ubiquity.Here,we present a simple and commercially available cerium(Ⅲ)chloride(CeCl_(3))-promoted photocatalytic depolymerization strategy to realize the simultaneous cleavage and amination ofC_(α)–C_(β)bond in a variety of lignin model compounds at room temperature.This procedure does not require any pretreatments and breakdown of C–O bonds or loss ofγ-CH_(2)OHgroup to generate aldehydes(up to 97%)and N-containing products(up to 95%)in good to excellent yields.Additionally,this CeCl_(3)-based photocatalyst system could maintain excellent catalytic performance even after 10 sequential cycles with newstarting materials.Moreover,this approach realizes the precise control over the reaction via switching the external light stimuli on/off.Further,this method is effective for the depolymerization of real lignin,thus affording the corresponding cleavage and amination products of C_(α)–C_(β)bonds.Yinling Wang Jianghua He Yuetao Zhang 2020CCS Chemistry2020,2,3:1

17Preparations and characterizations of ZnO nano-structural films and related SAW sensors显示文摘ZnO nano-structural films are prepared by RF magnetron sputtering and the hydrothermal synthesis.The morphologies,crystal structures and chemical compositions of the ZnO nano-scaled films are analyzed by XRD,SEM and XPS,which show that the ZnO nanorods are well oriented along c-axis as the preparation conditions are suitably selected;and there are a lot of oxygen vacancies and adsorbed oxygen atoms in the ZnO nano-structural films,which are beneficial to be utilized as gas-sensing materials.Furthermore,SAW(Rayleigh wave and Love wave) sensors based on ZnO nano-structural films deposited on 128°YX-LiNbO_3 and 36°YX-LiTaO_3 piezoelectric substrates are fabricated and used for sensing hydrogen at room temperature.The results show that the Love wave sensors have better sensing properties,such as high sensitivities and superior performances.WANG Yan ZHANG Shuyi YANG Yuetao SHUI Xiuji 2017Chinese Journal of Acoustics2017,36,2:0
18High Performance Polylactide Toughened by Supertough Polyester Thermoplastic Elastomers:Properties and Mechanism显示文摘It is a challenge to develop a biodegradable toughener to toughen polylactic acid(PLA)with both high strength and high toughness,since toughness and strength are mutually exclusive.Here,a series of supertough polyester thermoplastic elastomers(TPEs),poly(L/D-lactide)-b-poly(ε-caprolactone-co-δ-valerolactone)-b-poly(L/D-lactide)s(PLLA-PCVL-PLLA,L-TPEs or PDLA-PCVL-PDLA,D-TPEs),were prepared and blended with a PLLA matrix to toughen PLLA.The mechanical properties of PLLA could be regulated in a wide range by changing blending ratios and TPE structures.For PLLA blends toughened by L-TPEs,the highest elongation at break is up to 425%with the tensile strength of 33.1 MPa and the toughness of 104 MJ/m3.By the stereocomplex crystallization of PLA(sc-PLA),the tensile strength of the PLLA/D-TPE blends further increased to 41.8 MPa with a similar elongation at break(418%)and the toughness up to 128 MJ/m3.The detailed characterizations revealed a toughening mechanism:(I)the added soft segments increased the ductility of the PLLA matrix,(II)the PLLA segments of L-TPEs increased the compatibility between TPEs and PLLA matrix,and(III)the formation of sc-PLA between the PDLA segments in D-TPE and PLLA provided higher tensile strength by enhancing the strength of the crystal skeleton.The toughened PLA using TPEs can maintain original non-toxic and degradable properties,and be applied potentially in surgical sutures,and 3D-printed scaffolds.FENG Songyang ZHAO Wuchao HE Jianghua ZHANG Yuetao 2023Chemical Research in Chinese Universities2023,39,5:0
19Evaporative Cooling Applied in Thermal Power Plants:A Review of the State-ofthe-Art and Typical Case Studies显示文摘A review is conducted about the application of the evaporative cooling technology in thermal power plants.Different case studies are considered,namely,evaporative air conditioners,evaporative cooling in direct air-cooled systems,gas turbine inlet cooling,wet cooling towers,and hybrid cooling towers with a crosswind effect.Some effort is provided to describe the advantages related to direct evaporative cooling when it is applied in thermal power plants and illustrate the research gaps,which have not been filled yet.In particular,typical case studies are intentionally used to compare the cooling performances when direct evaporative cooling is implemented in different types of cooling towers,including the natural draft wet cooling tower(NDWCT)and the pre-cooled natural draft dry cooling tower(NDDCT).It is shown that the NDWCT provides the best cooling performance in terms of power station cooling,followed by the pre-cooled NDDCT,and the NDDCT;moreover,the evaporative pre-cooling is able to enhance the cooling performance of NDDCT.Besides,on a yearly basis,better NDDCT cooling performances can be obtained by means of a spray-based pre-cooling approach with respect to wet media pre-cooling.Therefore,the use of nozzle spray is suggested for improvement in the performance of indirect/direct air-cooling systems with controlled water consumption.Tiantian Liu Huimin Pang Suoying He Bin Zhao Zhiyu Zhang Jucheng Wang Zhilan Liu Xiang Huang Yuetao Shi Ming Gao 2023Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing2023,19,9:0
20Study of lanthanide doped zinc oxide nanoparticles synthesized via a sonochemical method显示文摘In this work, lanthanide doped zinc oxide nanoparticles synthesized in room-temperature ionic liquid via a sonochemical method have been studied. Firstly, the cavitation bubble temperatures in 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate (ImPF6) have been estimated by the methyl radical recombination method. The temperatures measured in ImPF6 are in the range of 3000-4000 K. Secondly, a facile method has been proposed to prepare lanthanide (Ⅲ) doped zinc oxide nanoparticles in ImPF6 via an ultrasonic irradiation. The nanomaterials are studied by transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, photoacoustic and luminescence techniques. The results show that the relaxation processes of the samples depend strongly on the lanthanide doping.
