| 1 | A novel cognitive ISAR imaging method with random stepped frequency chirp signal显示文摘The random stepped frequency chirp signal(RSFCS)has better performance in anti-jamming than that of conventional stepped frequency chirp signal(SFCS).In combination with the theory of compressing sensing(CS),a novel ISAR imaging method is proposed based on RSFCS,in which the high resolution range profile(HRRP)is reconstructed by using the conventional OMP algorithm,whereas the cognitive approach is introduced to further reduce the number of sub-pulse in RSFCS.In the proposed method,via cognizing the characteristics of moving targets,the number of sub-pulse in each burst can be adjusted adaptively.Finally,in the cross-range direction,the accurate reconstruction of ISAR image by using CS theory is implemented,which can effectively accomplish unwrapping.With the proposed method,high quality HRRP and ISAR image can be achieved with fewer sub-pulses of RSFCS and lower burst repetition frequency(BRF).Some simulation results are given to validate the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed algorithm. | ZHU Feng ZHANG Qun LUO Ying LI KaiMing GU FuFei | 2012 | Science China(Information Sciences)2012,55,8: | 13 |
| 2 | Significantly improved corrosion resistance of Mg-15Gd-2Zn-0.39Zr alloys: Effect of heat-treatment显示文摘The effects of heat-treatment on corrosion behavior of Mg-15Gd-2Zn-0.39Zr alloys were investigated through microstructure characterization, corrosion tests, and scanning Kelvin probe force microscope(SKPFM) analysis. In long-term corrosion experiments, the corrosion rates of Mg-Gd-Zn-Zr alloys were mainly determined by the effects of micro-galvanic corrosion. During heat-treatment, the β-(Mg,Zn)3Gd eutectic phase in as-cast alloys transformed into a long-period stacking ordered(LPSO) phase, coupled with the precipitation of small precipitates. As heat-treatment proceeded, the local potential and the volume fraction of the LPSO phases reduced gradually compared with the eutectic phase, which resulted in a remarkable decrease of the micro-galvanic effect between the second phase and Mg matrix. | 4 | Rapamycin promotes Schwann cell migration and nerve growth factor secretion显示文摘Rapamycin, similar to FK506, can promote neural regeneration in vitro. We assumed that the mechanisms of action of rapamycin and FK506 in promoting peripheral nerve regeneration were similar. This study compared the effects of different concentrations of rapamycin and FK506 on Sc hwann cells and investigated effects and mechanisms of rapamycin on improving peripheral nerve regeneration. Results demonstrated that the lowest rapamycin concentration(1.53 nmol/L) more significantly promoted Schwann cell migration than the highest FK506 concentration(100 μmol/L). Rapamycin promoted the secretion of nerve growth factors and upregulated growth-associated protein 43 expression in Schwann cells, but did not significantly affect Schwann cell proliferation. | 5 | Simulation of the equatorial quasi-biennial oscillation based on the parameterization of continuously spectral gravity waves显示文摘On the basis of previous parameterization schemes, considering both the wave breaking and absorbed at critical level, a parameterization with a continuous spectrum of gravity waves is realized by introducing a momentum flux density function for the wave spectrum, and then the parameterization scheme of the gravity waves is improved. Choosing parameter values of the background atmosphere and waves based on the observations, a more realistic equatorial quasi-biennial oscillation (QBO) driven by the incorporated drag from the planetary and gravity waves can be simulated. The numerical results indicate that the forcing magnitude of the planetary and gravity waves varies with the wind field, and in some phases of the QBO, the contribution of the gravity waves is comparable with that of the planetary waves. After the QBO is steadily formed, its amplitude and period and wind configuration are relevant to the effect of vertical diffusion and the momentum flux distribution with spectrum, however, independent of the initial background wind field. | 6 | Climatology of global gravity wave activity and dissipation revealed by SABER/TIMED temperature observations显示文摘Gravity wave activity and dissipation in the height range from the low stratosphere to the low thermosphere(25–115 km)covering latitudes between 50°S and 50°N are statistically studied by using 9-year(January 22,2002–December 31,2010)SABER/TIMED temperature data.We propose a method to extract realistic gravity wave fluctuations from the temperature profiles and treat square temperature fluctuations as GW activity.Overall,the gravity wave activity generally increases with height.Near the equator(0°–10°),the gravity wave activity shows a quasi-biennial variation in the stratosphere(below 40 km)while from 20°to 30°,it exhibits an annual variation below 40 km;in low latitudes(0°–30°)between the upper stratosphere and the low thermosphere(40–115 km),the gravity wave activity shows a semi-annual variation.In middle latitudes(40°–50°),the gravity wave activity has a clear annual variation below 85 km.In addition,we observe a four-monthly variation with peaks occurring usually in April,August,December in the northern hemisphere and in February,June,October in the southern hemisphere,respectively,above 85 km in middle latitudes,which has been seldom reported in gravity wave activity.In order to study the dissipation of gravity wave propagation,we calculate the gravity wave dissipation ratio,which is defined as the ratio of the gravity wave growth scale height to the atmosphere density scale height.The height variation of the dissipation ratio indicates that strong gravity wave dissipation mainly concentrates in the three height regions:the stratosphere(30–60 km),the mesopause(around 85 km)and the low thermosphere(above 100 km).Besides,gravity wave energy enhancement can be also observed in the background atmosphere. | SHUAI Jing ZHANG ShaoDong HUANG ChunMing YI Fan HUANG KaiMing GAN Quan GONG Yun | 2014 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2014,57,5: | 5 |
| 7 | An Introduction to the Integrated Climate Model of the Center for Monsoon System Research and Its Simulated Influence of El Ni?no on East Asian–Western North Pacific Climate显示文摘This study introduces a new global climate model—the Integrated Climate Model(ICM)—developed for the seasonal prediction of East Asian–western North Pacific(EA–WNP) climate by the Center for Monsoon System Research at the Institute of Atmospheric Physics(CMSR, IAP), Chinese Academy of Sciences. ICM integrates ECHAM5 and NEMO2.3 as its atmospheric and oceanic components, respectively, using OASIS3 as the coupler. The simulation skill of ICM is evaluated here, including the simulated climatology, interannual variation, and the influence of El Nińo as one of the most important factors on EA–WNP climate. ICM successfully reproduces the distribution of sea surface temperature(SST) and precipitation without climate shift, the seasonal cycle of equatorial Pacific SST, and the precipitation and circulation of East Asian summer monsoon. The most prominent biases of ICM are the excessive cold tongue and unrealistic westward phase propagation of equatorial Pacific SST. The main interannual variation of the tropical Pacific SST and EA–WNP climate—El Nińo and the East Asia–Pacific Pattern—are also well simulated in ICM, with realistic spatial pattern and period. The simulated El Nińo has significant impact on EA–WNP climate, as in other models. | 9 | Effects of Continuous Cropping of Panax notoginseng on the Properties of Rhizosphere Soil显示文摘[Objective] This experiment aimed to investigate the effects of continuous cropping of Panax notoginseng on the properties of rhizosphere soil. [Method] A total of 12 rhizospheres oil samples were collected in the fields continuously cropped with P. notoginseng for different years and the soil properties including pH value, contents of available N, available K, available P,total N, total K, total P and organic matter were determined. [Result] With the increase in the number of years of continuous cropping, seven soli indices: soil pH value, organic matter content, total N, total P, total K, available P and available K gradually increased, while available N showed a gradual downward trend. The contents of organic matter content, total N, total P, total K,available P, available K and available N after three years of continuous cropping were increased by 74.93%, 65.85%, 123.82%,18.78%, 341.67%, 120.16% and-32.16%, respectively, indicating that continuous cropping of P. notoginseng resulted in nutrient enrichment in rhizosphere soils. The pH value and available N in IBC(soil inside the border check) and UBC(soil under the border check) were higher than that in BBC(soil beside the border check), suggesting that the soil was gradually alkalized due to the continuous cropping of P. notoginseng. | 10 | Observations of gravity wave activity during stratospheric sudden warmings in the Northern Hemisphere显示文摘Arctic stratospheric sudden warming(SSW) with polar vortex displacement and splitting occurred in 2008 and 2009, respectively. The temperature profiles derived from the Constellation Observing System for Meteorology, Ionosphere and Climate(COSMIC) along with NCEP/NCAR reanalysis are used to investigate the gravity wave(GW) variations during these SSW events. Some phenomena are characterized and possible mechanisms are discussed. The GW variations during both types of SSW events shared some similarities. During the warming events, enhanced zonal mean GW amplitudes are detected. The enhancements of GW amplitudes first appeared at higher altitudes and then progressed downward during the major warming events. The downward progressions correspond well with the height variations of the zonal wind reversal, and the enhancements seem to occur at the same time with the wind reversal. The spatial variations of GWs showed evident correlation to the polar vortex. Generally, GWs were enhanced at the edge of the polar vortex where the background wind was strong, whereas the areas with the largest GW amplitudes did not always correspond with those with the strongest background wind. The differences during the two types of SSW are also noticeable. In the 2008 major event, the magnitudes of the zonal mean GW enhancements during the downward progression were relatively stable, whereas in the 2009 major event, a clear reduction was detected as the GW enhancement was progressing downward. Also, the recovery time of the polar vortex was longer in 2009. | 12 | Stress and sleep:a survey based on wearable sleep trackers among medical and nursing staff in Wuhan during the COVID-19 pandemic显示文摘Backgroud COVID-19 pandemic has significantly affected the sleep health of local medical and nursing staff.Aim We used wearable pulse oximeters to monitor and screen the medical and nursing staff working in hospitals designated for COVID-19 in the Wuhan area.This study aimed to establish a reliable basis to provide sleep intervention for the medical and nursing staff.Methods Thirty medical and nursing staff members with symptoms of insomnia were instructed to wear medical ring-shaped pulse oximeters to monitor their sleep overnight.We also used the Insomnia Severity Index(ISI)and the Chinese version of the Self-Reporting Questionnaire(SRQ-20)to evaluate the severity of insomnia and mental health status,respectively,for each participant.Results Among the 30 participants,only 26 completed the screening.Ten cases(38.5%)demonstrated moderate to severe sleep apnoea-hypopnea syndrome(SAHS)when using an oxygen desaturation index^15 times/hour as the cut-off value.Participants with comorbid moderate to severe SAHS had significantly higher ISI and SRQ scores(p values 0.034 and 0.016,respectively)than those in the insomnia group.Correlation analysis revealed that ISI was positively correlated with total sleep time(TST)(r=0.435,p=0.026),and negatively correlated with deep sleep(r=-0.495,p=0.010);furthermore,patient SRQ scores were positively correlated with TST,sleep efficiency(SE)and REM(rapid eyes movement)sleep%(r=0.454 and 0.389,0.512;p=0.020,0.050 and 0.008,respectively).Stepwise logistic regression indicated that SRQ-20 and sex were risk factors for insomnia with comorbid SAHS,and their OR values were 1.516 and 11.56(95%Cl 1.053 to 2.180 and 1.037 to 128.9),respectively.Conclusion Medical and nursing staff with insomnia showed clear signs of comorbid sleep apnoea attributable to stress.The wearable pulse oximeters accurately monitored the participants'breathing when asleep. | Kaiming Zhuo Cunyou Gao Xiaohui Wang Chen Zhang Zhen Wang | 2020 | General Psychiatry2020,33,3: | 3 |

| 16 | Cascaded tilted fiber Bragg grating for enhanced refractive index sensing显示文摘We proposed and experimentally demonstrated a cascaded tilted fiber Bragg grating(TFBG) for enhanced refractive index sensing. The TFBG is UV-inscribed in series in ordinary single-mode fiber(SMF) and reduced-diameter SMF with the same tilt angle, and then excites two sets of superposed spectral combs of cladding modes. The cascaded TFBG with total length of 18 mm has a much wider wavelength range over 100 nm and narrower wavelength separation than that of a TFBG only in the SMF, enabling an enlarged range and a higher accuracy of refractive index measurement. | 18 | Characteristics of the quasi-16-day wave in the mesosphere and lower thermosphere region as revealed by meteor radar,Aura satellite,and MERRA2 reanalysis data from 2008 to 2017显示文摘This study presents an analysis of the quasi-16-day wave(Q16DW)at three stations in the middle latitudes by using a meteor radar chain in conjunction with Aura Microwave Limb Sounder temperature data and MERRA2(Modern-Era Retrospective Analysis for Research and Applications,Version 2)reanalysis data from 2008 to 2017.The radar chain consists of three meteor radar stations located at Mohe(MH,53.5°N,122.3°E),Beijing(BJ,40.3°N,116.2°E),and Wuhan(WH,30.5°N,114.6°E).The Q16DW wave exhibits similar seasonal variation in the neutral wind and temperature,and the Q16DW amplitude is generally strong during winter and weak around summer.The Q16DW at BJ was found to have secondary enhancement around September in the zonal wind,which is rarely reported at similar latitudes.The latitudinal variations of the Q16DW in the neutral wind and temperature are quite different.The Q16DW at BJ is the most prominent in both neutral wind components among the three stations and the Q16DW amplitudes at MH and WH are comparable,whereas the wave amplitude in temperature decreases with decreasing latitude.The quasi-geostrophic refractive index squared at the three stations in the period from 2008 to 2017 was revealed.The results indicate that the Q16DW in the mesosphere and lower thermosphere(MLT)at MH has a limited contribution from the lower atmosphere.Around March and October,the Q16DW in the troposphere at BJ can propagate upward into the MLT region,whereas at WH,the contribution to the Q16DW in the MLT region is largely from the mesosphere. | Yun Gong Zheng Ma Chun Li XieDong Lv ShaoDong Zhang QiHou Zhou ChunMing Huang KaiMing Huang You Yu GuoZhu Li | 2020 | Earth and Planetary Physics2020,4,3: | 2 |
| 19 | Anomalous changes of temperature and ozone QBOs in 2015−2017 from radiosonde observation and MERRA-2 reanalysis显示文摘Anomalous changes of zonal wind quasi-biennial oscillation(QBO)in winter 2015−2016 have received close attention.Combining radiosonde and satellite observations and reanalysis data,we investigate anomalous changes in temperature and ozone QBOs from the lower to middle stratosphere.As wind shear direction is reversed due to unexpected changes of zonal wind QBO at about 24−30 km,the shortest cold phase at 21−27 km appears in temperature QBO.This is different from the completely interrupted westward phase in zonal wind QBO,while the longest cold phase above almost 27 km lasts for 2−3 years from 2015 to 2017,owing to the absence of corresponding warm phase.Meridional scale reduction of temperature QBO causes a small temperature anomaly,thus the thermal wind relationship looks seemingly different from that in the other regular QBO cycles.QBO in the ozone mixing ratio anomaly shows a double-peak with inverse phase,and its phase below(above)30 km is in agreement with(opposite to)the phase of temperature QBO because of different control mechanisms of ozone.Following temperature QBO variation,QBO in the ozone mixing ratio anomaly exhibits a less positive phase at 20−30 km in 2016−2017,and a very long positive phase above 30 km from 2015 to 2017.QBO in total column ozone shows a small peak in winter 2016−2017 since ozone is mainly concentrated at 20 to 30 km.Anomalous changes of temperature and ozone QBOs due to unexpected QBO zonal wind variation can be well-explained according to thermal wind balance and thermodynamic balance. | XiaoYan Bai KaiMing Huang ShaoDong Zhang ChunMing Huang Yun Gong | 2021 | Earth and Planetary Physics2021,5,3: | 2 |
| 20 | Cephalopods-inspired Repairable MWCNTs/PDMS Conductive Elastomers for Sensitive Strain Sensor显示文摘Flexible electronic devices based on reversible bonds for self-curing capabilities arouses extensive interest.However,most of the composite conductive elastomers have the problems of poor mechanical properties and slow recovery of mechanical properties during multiple stretching,which hinder their stability in continuous operation.In this study,hyperbranched-MWCNTs/hyperbranched-PDMS self-healable conductive elastomers inspired by cephalopods were successfully developed.The prepared conductive elastomer exhibited good self-healing ability(91%)at room temperature excited by multiple reversible interactions.The prepared elastomer showed outstanding mechanical properties and anti-fatigue ability,so that it can cope with more arduous tasks.Moreover,the elastomer was sensitive to the change of stress states and can be used as a stable strain sensor.Therefore,the self-repairing conductive elastomer has potential practicability in the fields of human-computer interaction,motion monitoring,soft robot and so on. | Kaiming Zhang Zhe Wang Yuetao Liu Haoyu Zhao Chuanhui Gao Yumin Wu | 2022 | Chinese Journal of Polymer Science2022,40,4: | 2 |
