DualFace:Two-stage drawing guidance for freehand portrait sketching显示文摘Special skills are required in portrait painting, such as imagining geometric structures and facial detail for final portrait designs. This makes it a difficult task for users, especially novices without prior artistic training, to draw freehand portraits with high-quality details. In this paper, we propose dualFace, a portrait drawing interface to assist users with different levels of drawing skills to complete recognizable and authentic face sketches. Inspired by traditional artist workflows for portrait drawing, dualFace gives two-stages of drawing assistance to provide global and local visual guidance. The former helps users draw contour lines for portraits (i.e., geometric structure), and the latter helps users draw details of facial parts, which conform to the user-drawn contour lines. In the global guidance stage, the user draws several contour lines, and dualFace then searches for several relevant images from an internal database and displays the suggested face contour lines on the background of the canvas. In the local guidance stage, we synthesize detailed portrait images with a deep generative model from user-drawn contour lines, and then use the synthesized results as detailed drawing guidance. We conducted a user study to verify the effectiveness of dualFace, which confirms that dualFace significantly helps users to produce a detailed portrait sketch. | Zhengyu Huang Yichen Peng Tomohiro Hibino Chunqi Zhao Haoran Xie Tsukasa Fukusato Kazunori Miyata | 2022 | Computational Visual Media2022,8,1: | 1
Analyzing Interpretability Semantically via CNN Visualization显示文摘Deep convolutional neural networks are widely used in image recognition, but the black box property is always perplexing. In this paper,a method is proposed using visual annotation to interpret the internal structure of CNN from the semantic perspective.First, filters are screened in the high layers of the CNN.For a certain category, the important filters are selected by their activation values, frequencies and classification contribution. Then, deconvolution is used to visualize the filters, and semantic interpretations of the filters are labelled by referring to the visualized activation region in the original image. Thus, the CNN model is interpreted and analyzed through these filters. Finally, the visualization results of some important filters are shown, and the semantic accuracy of filters are verified with reference to the expert feature image sets.In addition, the results verify the semantic consistency of the same important filters under similar categories, which indicates the stability of semantic annotation of these filters. | Chunqi Qi Yuechen Zhao Yue Wang Yapu Zhao Qian Hong Xiuli Wang Weiyu Guo | 2021 | 国际计算机前沿大会会议论文集2021,,2: | 0
Morphine Re-arranges Chromatin Spatial Architecture of Primate Cortical Neurons显示文摘The expression of linear DNA sequence is precisely regulated by the three-dimensional(3D)architecture of chromatin.Morphine-induced aberrant gene networks of neurons have been extensively investigated;however, how morphine impacts the 3D genomic architecture of neurons is still unknown. Here,we applied digestion-ligation-only high-throughput chromosome conformation capture(DLO Hi-C)technology to investigate the effects of morphine on the 3D chromatin architecture of primate cortical neurons. After receiving continuous morphine administration for 90 days on rhesus monkeys,we discovered that morphine re-arranged chromosome territories, with a total of 391 segmented compartments being switched.Morphine altered over half of the detected topologically associated domains(TADs),most of which exhibited a variety of shifts, followed by separating and fusing types.Analysis of the looping events at kilobase-scale resolution revealed that morphine increased not only the number but also the length of differential loops. Moreover, all identified differentially expressed genes from the RNA sequencing data were mapped to the specific TAD boundaries or differential loops, and were further validated for changed expression.Collectively,an altered 3D genomic architecture of cortical neurons may regulate the gene networks associated with morphine effects. Our finding provides critical hubs connecting chromosome spatial organization and gene networks associated with the morphine effects in humans. | Liang Wang Xiaojie Wang Chunqi Liu Wei Xu Weihong Kuang Qian Bu Hongchun Li Ying Zhao Linhong Jiang Yaxing Chen Feng Qin Shu Li Qinfan Wei Xiaocong Liu Bin Liu Yuanyuan Chen Yanping Dai Hongbo Wang Jingwei Tian Gang Cao Yinglan Zhao Xiaobo Cen | 2023 | Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2023,21,3: | 0
Chemical Characteristics and Anticoagulant Activities of Two Sulfated Polysaccharides from Enteromorpha linza (Chlorophyta)显示文摘Two sulfated polysaccharides, designated MP and SP, were extracted from the marine green alga Enteromorpha linza using hot water and then purified using ion-exchange and size-exclusion chromatography. The anticoagulant activities of MP and SP were examined by determination of their activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT), thrombin time (TT) and prothrombin time (PT) using human plasma. Results showed that MP and SP were composed of abundant rhamnose with small amounts of xylose and glucuronic acid, whereas SP also contained a small amount of galactose. Approximate molecular weights of MP and SP were 535 and 502 kDa, respectively. As compared with SP, MP had higher contents of sulfate ester (19.0%) and uronic acid (14.9%). The MP mainly consisted of (1→4)-linked rhamnose residues with partially sulfated groups at the C-3 position, and small amounts of (1→3, 4)-linked rhamnose, (1→2, 4)-linked rhamnose, (1→4)-linked glucuronic acid and (1→4)-linked xylose residues. The SP contained abundant (1→4)-linked rhamnose with minor amounts of (1→3)-linked rhamnose, (1→3, 4)-linked rhamnose, (1→2, 4)-linked rhamnose, (1→4)-linked glucuronic acid, (1→4)-linked xylose, and (1→3)-linked galactose residues. The sulfate groups were mainly located at C-3 of (1→4)-linked rhamnose residues. Both MP and SP, in particular the former, effectively prolonged APTT and TT. This work demonstrates that MP and SP have unique structural characteristics distinct from those of other sulfated polysaccharides from Enteromorpha. The MP is a potential source of anticoagulant, and the difference in anticoagulant activities of the two sulfated polysaccharides is directly linked to the discrepancy of their chemical features. | QI Xiaohui MAO Wenjun CHEN Yin CHEN Yanli ZHAO Chunqi LI Na WANG Chunyan | 2013 | Journal of Ocean University of China2013,12,1: | 0

Rayleigh light scattering and its applications to biochemical analysis显示文摘The recent applications of light scattering technique in biochemical analysis have been reviewed. The mechanic theories of resonance light scattering and Rayleigh light scattering (RLS), the relationships and differences between them, their applications and the interference factors in biochemistry analysis have been covered. By contrasting Rayleigh light scattering with double scattering and anti-scattering, the advantages of RLS have been pointed out. Finally, some prospects for the future application of this technique have been given. | Ke’an Li Chunqi Ma Ying Liu Fenglin Zhao Shenyang Tong | 2000 | Chinese Science Bulletin2000,45,5: | 0
