1Long-term monitoring and source apportionment of PM_(2.5)/PM_(10) in Beijing,China显示文摘During 2001-2006,PM2.5 (particle matter with aerodynamic diameter less than 2.5 microns) and PM10 (particle matter with aerodynamic diameter less than 10 microns) were collected at the Beijng Normal University (BNU) site,China,and in 2006,at a background site in Duolun (DL).The long-term monitoring data of elements,ions,and black carbon showed that the major constituents of PM2.5 were black carbon (BC) crustal elements,nitrates,ammonium salts,and sulfates.These five major components accounted for 20%-80% of the total PM2.5.During this period,levels of Pb and S in PM remained rather high,as compared with the levels in other large cities in the world.Source apportionment results suggest that there were 6 common sources for PM2.5 and PM10,i.e.,soil dust,vehicular emission,coal combustion,secondary aerosol,industrial emission,and biomass burning.Coal combustion was the largest contributor of PM2.5 with a percentage of 16.6%,whereas soil dust played the most important role in PM10 with a percentage of 27%.In contrast,only three common types of sources could be resolved at the background DL site,namely,soil dust,biomass combustion,and secondary aerosol from combustion sources.Hailin WANG Zhengping HAO 2008Journal of Environmental Sciences2008,20,11:65
2Characterization and assessment of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) emissions from typical industries显示文摘VOCs play an increasingly important role in affecting air quality and threatening human health in China in recent years,where industry activities show a significant contribution to VOCs emission.In this article we report our long term study of industrial VOCs emissions of six major industries (vehicle manufacturing,printing,equipment coating,electronic manufacturing,furniture manufacturing and bio-pharming) on the aspects of emission characteristics,environmental impact and health risk assessment,and control challenge analysis with the purpose to obtain in-depth understanding of industry VOCs emissions and offer some original basements for national control and management of industry VOCs emissions.This study shows that all these industries give middle or low emission with total VOCs concentration less than 1000 mg/m3 at each exhaust pipe.Benzenes,esters,alcohols,ketones,alkanes,chloroalkanes and alkenes were detected as the major emission components and the most frequently monitored VOCs were benzenes,which varied obviously with different processes and industries.The environmental impact assessments indicate that vehicle manufacturing and benzenes should be prior controlled with the purpose to reduce air pollution.While,health risk assessments suggest that furniture manufacturing and chloroalkanes should be firstly controlled.Control analysis indicates that developing technologies with low cost and high efficiency and establishing and completing specific industry emission standards/regulations are the two key issues in VOCs emission management at present stage.WANG HaiLin NIE Lie LI Jing WANG YuFei WANG Gang WANG JunHui HAO ZhengPing 2013Science China(Technological Sciences)2013,56,3:60

4Start-up of anaerobic ammonia oxidation bioreactor with nitrifying activated sludge显示文摘The anaerobic ammonia oxidation(Anammox) bioreactor was successfully started up with the nitrifying activated sludge. After anaerobically operated for 105 d, the bioreactor reached a good performance with removal percentage of both ammonia and nitrite higher than 95% and volumetric total nitrogen removal as high as 149.55 mmol/(L·d). 5Source apportionment for urban PM_(10) and PM_(2.5) in the Beijing area显示文摘Airborne particulate matter (PM2.5 and PM10) samples were collected at the Beijing Normal University sampling site in the urban area of Beijing, China in dry and wet seasons during 2001―2004. Concen-trations of 23 elements and 14 ions in particulate samples were determined by ICP-AES and IC, re-spectively. Source apportionment results derived from both Positive Matrix Factorization (PMF) and Chemical Mass Balance (CMB) models indicate that the major contributors of PM2.5 and PM10 in Beijing are: soil dust, fossil fuel combustion, vehicle exhausts, secondary particulate, biomass burning and some industrial sources. 6Performance of Anammox granular sludge bed reactor started up with nitrifying granular sludge显示文摘The anaerobic ammonia oxidation(Anammox) granular sludge bed reactor was started up successfully with nitrifying granular sludge. During the operation, the nitrifying granular sludge was gradually converted into Anammox granular sludge with good settling property and high conversion activity. The Anammox reactor worked well with the shortest HRT of 2 43 h. Under the condition that HRT w as 6 39 h and influent concentration of ammonia and nitrite was 10 mmol/L, the removal of ammonia and nitrite was 97 17% and 100 00%, respectively. Corresponding volumetric total nitrogen loading rate and volumetric total nitrogen conversion rate were 100 83 mmol/(L·d) and 98 95 mmol/(L·d). 7Adsorption of benzene, cyclohexane and hexane on ordered mesoporous carbon显示文摘Ordered mesoporous carbon(OMC) with high specific surface area and large pore volume was synthesized and tested for use as an adsorbent for volatile organic compound(VOC)disposal. Benzene, cyclohexane and hexane were selected as typical adsorbates due to their different molecular sizes and extensive utilization in industrial processes. In spite of their structural differences, high adsorption amounts were achieved for all three adsorbates, as the pore size of OMC is large enough for the access of these VOCs. In addition, the unusual bimodal-like pore size distribution gives the adsorbates a higher diffusion rate compared with conventional adsorbents such as activated carbon and carbon molecular sieve. Kinetic analysis suggests that the adsorption barriers mainly originated from the difficulty of VOC vapor molecules entering the pore channels of adsorbents. 8Anammox transited from denitrification in upflow biofilm reactor显示文摘Anammox was successfully transited from heterotrophic denitrification and autotrophic denitrification in two upflow biofilm reactors, respectively. The results showed that the volumetric loading rate and nitrogen removal efficiency in the reactor transited from heterotrophic denitrification were higher than that in its counterpart. When the hydraulic retention time was 12 h or so, the total nitrogen loading rate was about 0.609 kg N/(m3·d), and the effluent ammonia and nitrite concentrations were less than 8.5 mg/L and 2.5 mg/L, respectively. The upflow anammox biofilm reactor was capable of keeping and accumulating the slow-growing bacteria efficiently. During operation of the reactor, the biomass color was gradually turned from brownish to red, and the ratio of ammonia consumption, nitrite consumption and nitrate production approached the theoretical one. 9Characterization of PM_(2.5)/PM_(2.5-10) and source tracking in the juncture belt between urban and rural areas of Beijing显示文摘Coarse (PM2.5-10) and fine (PM2.5) atmospheric particulate samples were collected in summer and winter during 2005―2007 in the juncture belt between urban and rural areas of Beijing. Elements, ions, organic/elemental carbon (OC/EC) and polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) were determined to obtain some latest information about the particulate pollution in the juncture belt of Beijing. Particulate matter levels at this site were high as compared with the levels at other sampling sites in Beijing. Pollution elements, secondary ions and PAHs were enriched in fine particles rather than in coarse particles. An obvious seasonal variation of the chemical composition of PM was observed. Source apportionment results showed that secondary components were the largest mass contributor of PM2.5, accounting for 28%; whereas soil-related sources were the largest contributor of PM2.5-10, explaining about 49% of the total mass. 12Research on crystal growth and properties of a new nonlinear optical crystal:Bismuth borate BiB_3O_6显示文摘BiB3O6 (BIBO) single crystals with sizes of 44 mm × 24 mm × 10 mm and weight of 24.7 g have been successfully grown by the top-seeded method. In this note, the preparation of seed, the growth of crystal and some problems encountered are reported. The lattice parameters of BIBO are a =7.1203(7)A, b = 4.9948(7)A, c = 6.5077(7)A, β= 105.586(8) ', V=222.93(5)A3, which were determined by BRUKER-P4 four-circle diffractometer. BIBO is biaxial crystal and the relative orientation of (X, Y, Z) with regard to (a, b, c) is: X|| b, (Y, c) =47.2°, (Z, a) = 31.6°, determined by the X-ray analysis combined with polarized microscopy. The second-harmonic-generation (SHG) conversion efficiency of the sample for 1.064 μm light is up to 67.7%. We have also obtained the third harmonic generation (THG) of 1.064 μm, namely, 1.064 μm + 0.532 μn →0.355 μm. 14Micromanufacturing technologies of compact heat exchangers for hypersonic precooled airbreathing propulsion: A review显示文摘The Hypersonic Precooled Combined Cycle Engine(HPCCE), which introduces precooler into traditional hypersonic engine, is regarded as the most promising propulsion system for realizing a single-stage-to-orbit vehicle. The unique demands lead to the application of the compact heat exchangers, which can realize high thrust-to-weight ratio, sufficient specific impulse and high compression ratio. However, it is challenging to accurately manufacture the compact heat exchanger due to its extremely high heat dissipation capacity, remarkable compactness, superior adaptability and harsh operating condition. This review summarizes the precooling schemes of combined cycle propulsions and describes the demands and key issues in the fabrication of a compact heat exchanger for HPCCE. The investigation focuses on the application of various micromanufacturing methods of heat exchangers constructed from tubes of less than 1 mm in diameter and microchannels of less than 200 micrometers. Various micromanufacturing processes, which include microforming, micromachining, stereolithography, chemical etching, 3 D printing, joining and other advanced microfabricating processes, were reviewed. In addition, the technologies are compared in terms of dimensional tolerance, material compatibility, and process applicability. Furthermore, the boundaries of the micromanufacturing constraints are specified as references for the design of compact heat exchangers. 15Catalytic oxidation of benzene over nanostructured porous Co_3O_4-CeO_2 composite catalysts显示文摘Mesostructured Co3O4-CeO2 composite was found to be an effective catalytic material for the complete oxidation of benzene. The Co3O4-CeO2 catalysts with different Co/Ce ratios (mol/mol) were prepared via the nanocasting method and the mesostructure was replicated from two-dimensional (2D) hexagonal SBA-15 and three-dimensional (3D) cubic KIT-6 silicas, respectively. All the obtained Co3O4-CeO2 catalysts exhibited the similar symmetry with the parent silicas and well ordered mesostructures. The Co3O4- CeO2 catalysts with 2D mesostructure showed lower catalytic activities than the corresponding 3D materials. The Co3O4-CeO2 catalyst nanocasted from KIT-6 and with the Co/Ce ratio of 16/1 possessed the best catalytic benzene oxidation activity due to larger quantities of surface hydroxyl groups and surface oxygenated species. 16Effect of surface roughness on the aerodynamic performance of turbine blade cascade显示文摘The effect of surface roughness on the boundary development and loss behavior of turbine blades is investigated with different Reynolds numbers in this paper.The result shows that the velocity profile in boundary layer is plumper on rough surface than on smooth blade.The aerodynamic loss is lowered at low Reynolds number,but becomes significantly large at high Reynolds number.The total pressure loss coefficient of cascade can reach a top increase of 129%for rougher blades comparing with smooth blades at Re=300000.Tao Bain Jingyuan Liu Weihao Zhang Zhengping Zou 2014Propulsion and Power Research2014,3,2:9
17Sensitivity studies of a high accuracy surface modeling method显示文摘The sensitivities of the initial value and the sampling information to the accuracy of a high accuracy surface modeling(HASM) are investigated and the implementations of this new modeling method are modified and enhanced. Based on the fundamental theorem of surface theory, HASM is developed to correct the error produced in geographical information system and ecological modeling process. However, the earlier version of HASM is theoretically incomplete and its initial value must be produced by other surface modeling methods, such as spline, which limit its promotion. In other words, we must use other interpolators to drive HASM. According to the fundamental theorem of surface theory, we modify HASM, namely HASM.MOD, by adding another important nonlinear equation to make it independent of other methods and, at the same time, have a complete and solid theory foundation. Two mathematic surfaces and monthly mean temperature of 1951–2010 are used to validate the effectiveness of the new method. Experiments show that the modified version of HASM is insensitive to the selection of initial value which is particular important for HASM. We analyze the sensitivities of sampling error and sampling ratio to the simulation accuracy of HASM.MOD. It is found that sampling information plays an important role in the simulation accuracy of HASM.MOD. Another feature of the modified version of HASM is that it is theoretically perfect as it considers the third equation of the surface theory which reflects the local warping of the surface. 18Removal of cobalt(II) ion from aqueous solution by chitosan–montmorillonite显示文摘Montmorillonite(MMT)modified with chitosan(CTS,molecular weight=5×104)was applied to remove heavy metal cations by using Co2+as a model ion.An increase in MMT interlayer distance observed from X-ray diffraction indicates the intercalation of CTS into MMT.Together with the results of scanning electron microscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,it was concluded that the composite material of CTS and MMT(CTS–MMT)was prepared successfully.The mass ratio of CTS to MMT had a strong influence on the adsorption performance of CTS–MMT.The highest adsorption value of 150 mg/g was obtained over the composite material with CTS to MMT mass ratio of 0.25,which is much higher than those reported in other studies.The adsorption isotherms and kinetic results indicated that Co2+was adsorbed over CTS–MMT in a multilayer model,and the chemical sorption of Co2+was determined to be the rate-limiting step.Hailin Wang Haoqing Tang Zhaotie Liu Xin Zhang Zhengping Hao Zhongwen Liu 2014Journal of Environmental Sciences2014,26,9:8
19An experimental method for squealer tip flow field considering relative casing motion显示文摘Squealer tip is widely used in turbines to reduce tip leakage loss.In typical turbine environment,the squealer tip leakage flow is affected by multiple factors such as the relative casing motion and the wide range of variable incidence angles.The development of experimental methods which can accurately model the real turbine environment and influencing factors is of great significance to study the squealer tip leakage flow mechanism.In the present paper,a low-speed turbine cascade test facility which can model the relative casing motion and wide range of variable incidence angles(-25°to 55°)is built.Based on the similarity criteria,a high-low speed similarity transformation method of the turbine cascade is established by considering the thickness of the turbine blade.A combined testing method of Particle Image Velocimetry(PIV)and local pressure measurement is proposed to obtain the complex flow structures within the tip cavity.The results show that the experimental method can successfully model the relative casing motion and the wide range of variable incidence angles.The low-speed cascade obtained by the similarity transformation can model the high-speed flow accurately.The measurement technique developed can obtain the complex flow field and successfully capture the scraping vortex within the squealer tip.Fei ZENG Jinlin DU Lin HUANG Liming XUAN Qiang ZHAO Zhengping ZOU 2020Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2020,33,7:8
20A fundamental theorem for eco-environmental surface modelling and its applications显示文摘We propose a fundamental theorem for eco-environmental surface modelling(FTEEM) in order to apply it into the fields of ecology and environmental science more easily after the fundamental theorem for Earth’s surface system modeling(FTESM). The Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei(BTH) region is taken as a case area to conduct empirical studies of algorithms for spatial upscaling, spatial downscaling, spatial interpolation, data fusion and model-data assimilation, which are based on high accuracy surface modelling(HASM), corresponding with corollaries of FTEEM. The case studies demonstrate how eco-environmental surface modelling is substantially improved when both extrinsic and intrinsic information are used along with an appropriate method of HASM. Compared with classic algorithms, the HASM-based algorithm for spatial upscaling reduced the root-meansquare error of the BTH elevation surface by 9 m. The HASM-based algorithm for spatial downscaling reduced the relative error of future scenarios of annual mean temperature by 16%. The HASM-based algorithm for spatial interpolation reduced the relative error of change trend of annual mean precipitation by 0.2%. The HASM-based algorithm for data fusion reduced the relative error of change trend of annual mean temperature by 70%. The HASM-based algorithm for model-data assimilation reduced the relative error of carbon stocks by 40%.
