1Three-dimensional chiral microstructures fabricated by structured optical vortices in isotropic material显示文摘Optical vortices,a type of structured beam with helical phase wavefronts and‘doughnut’-shaped intensity distributions,have been used to fabricate chiral structures in metals and spiral patterns in anisotropic polarization-dependent azobenzene polymers.However,in isotropic polymers,the fabricated microstructures are typically confined to non-chiral cylindrical geometry due to the two-dimensional‘doughnut’-shaped intensity profile of the optical vortices.Here we develop a powerful strategy to realize chiral microstructures in isotropic material by coaxial interference of a vortex beam and a plane wave,which produces threedimensional(3D)spiral optical fields.These coaxial interference beams are generated by designing contrivable holograms consisting of an azimuthal phase and an equiphase loaded on a liquid-crystal spatial light modulator.In isotropic polymers,3D chiral microstructures are achieved under illumination using coaxial interference femtosecond laser beams with their chirality controlled by the topological charge.Our further investigation reveals that the spiral lobes and chirality are caused by interfering patterns and helical phase wavefronts,respectively.This technique is simple,stable and easy to perform,and it offers broad applications in optical tweezers,optical communications and fast metamaterial fabrication.Jincheng Ni Chaowei Wang Chenchu Zhang Yanlei Hu Liang Yang Zhaoxin Lao Bing Xu Jiawen Li Dong Wu Jiaru Chu 2017Light(Science & Applications)2017,6,1:28
2Effects of dietary Bacillus amyloliquefaciens supplementation on growth performance,intestinal morphology, inflammatory response, and microbiota of intra-uterine growth retarded weanling piglets显示文摘Background: The focus of recent research has been directed toward the probiotic potential of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens(BA) on the gut health of animals. However, little is known about BA's effects on piglets with intra-uterine growth retardation(IUGR). Therefore, this study investigated the effects of BA supplementation on the growth performance,intestinal morphology, inflammatory response, and microbiota of IUGR piglets.Methods: Eighteen litters of newborn piglets were selected at birth, with one normal birth weight(NBW) and two IUGR piglets in each litter(i.e., 18 NBW and 36 IUGR piglets in total). At weaning, the NBW piglet and one of the IUGR piglets were assigned to groups fed a control diet(i.e., the NBW-CON and IUGR-CON groups). The other IUGR piglet was assigned to a group fed the control diet supplemented with 2.0 g BA per kg of diet(i.e., IUGR-BA group). The piglets were thus distributed across three groups for a four-week period.Results: IUGR reduced the growth performance of the IUGR-CON piglets compared with the NBW-CON piglets. It was also associated with decreased vil us sizes, increased apoptosis rates, reduced goblet cel numbers, and an imbalance between pro-and anti-inflammatory cytokines in the smal intestine. Supplementation with BA improved the average daily weight gain and the feed efficiency of the IUGR-BA group compared with the IUGR-CON group(P < 0.05). The IUGR-BA group exhibited increases in the ratio of jejunal vil us height to crypt depth, in ileal vil us height, and in ileal goblet cel density. They also exhibited decreases in the numbers of jejunal and ileal apoptotic cel s and ileal proliferative cel s(P < 0.05). Supplementation with BA increased interleukin 10 content, but it decreased tumor necrosis factor alpha level in the smal intestines of the IUGR-BA piglets(P < 0.05). 3Timing and splitting of nitrogen fertilizer supply to increase crop yield and efficiency of nitrogen utilization in a wheat–peanut relay intercropping system in China显示文摘Agronomically optimizing the timing and rates of nitrogen(N) fertilizer application can increase crop yield and decrease N loss to the environment. Wheat(Triticum aestivum L.)–peanut(Arachis hypogaea L.) relay intercropping systems are a mainstay of economic and food security in China. We performed a field experiment to investigate the effects of N fertilizer on N recovery efficiency, crop yield, and N loss rate in wheat–peanut relay intercropping systems in the Huang-Huai-Hai Plain, China during 2015–2017. The N was applied on the day before sowing, the jointing stage(G30) or the booting stage(G40) of winter wheat, and the anthesis stage(R1) of peanut in the following percentage splits: 50-50-0-0(N1), 35-35-0-30(N2), and 35-0-35-30(N3), using 300 kg N ha-1, with 0 kg N ha-1(N0) as control. ^(15)N-labeled(20.14 atom %) urea was used to trace the fate of N in microplots. The yields of wheat and peanut increased by 12.4% and 15.4% under the N2 and N3 treatments, relative to those under the N1 treatment. The ^(15)N recovery efficiencies( ^(15)NRE) were 64.9% and 58.1% for treatments N2 and N3, significantly greater than that for the N1 treatment(45.3%). The potential N loss rates for the treatments N2 and N3 were23.7% and 7.0%, significantly lower than that for treatment N1(30.1%). Withholding N supply until the booting stage(N3) did not reduce the wheat grain yield; however, it increased the N content derived from ^(15)N-labeled urea in peanuts, promoted the distribution of ^(15)N to pods, and ultimately increased pod yields in comparison with those obtained by topdressing N at jointing stage(N2). In comparison with N2, the N uptake and N recovery efficiency(NRE) of N3 was increased by 12.0% and 24.1%,respectively, while the apparent N loss decreased by 16.7%. In conclusion, applying N fertilizer with three splits and delaying topdressing fertilization until G40 of winter wheat increased total grain yields and NRE and reduced N loss. 4Impacts of Upper Tropospheric Cooling upon the Late Spring Drought in East Asia Simulated by a Regional Climate Model显示文摘Responses of late spring(21 April–20 May)rainfall to the upper tropospheric cooling over East Asia are investigated with a regional climate model based on Laboratoire de Me′t′eorologie Dynamique Zoom (LMDZ4-RCM).A control experiment is performed with two runs driven by the mean ERA-40 data during 1958–1977 and 1981–2000,respectively.The model reproduces the major decadal-scale circulation changes in late spring over East Asia,including a cooling in the upper troposphere and an anomalous meridional cell. Accordingly,the precipitation decrease is also captured in the southeast of the upper-level cooling region. To quantify the role of the upper-level cooling in the drought mechanism,a sensitivity experiment is further conducted with the cooling imposed in the upper troposphere.It is demonstrated that the upper-level cooling can generate the anomalous meridional cell and consequently the drought to the southeast of the cooling center.Therefore,upper tropospheric cooling should have played a dominant role in the observed late spring drought over Southeast China in recent decades.辛晓歌 Zhaoxin LI 宇如聪 周天军 2008Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2008,25,4:8
5Neomycin biosynthesis is regulated positively by AfsA-g and NeoR in Streptomyces fradiae CGMCC 4.7387显示文摘Neomycins are a group of aminoglycoside antibiotics with both clinical and agricultural applications.To elucidate the regulatory mechanism of neomycin biosynthesis,we completed draft genome sequencing of a neomycin producer Streptomyces fradiae CGMCC 4.7387 from marine sediments,and the neomycin biosynthesis gene cluster was identified.Inactivation of the afsA-g gene encoding a γ-butyrolactone(GBL) synthase in S.fradiae CGMCC 4.7387 resulted in a significant decrease of neomycin production.Quantitative RT-PCR analysis revealed that the transcriptional level of neoR and the aphA-neoGH operon were reduced in the afsA-g::aac(3)Ⅳ mutant.Interestingly,a conserved binding site of AdpA,a key activator in the GBL regulatory cascade,was discovered upstream of neoR,a putative regulatory gene encoding a protein with an ATPase domain and a tetratricopeptide repeat domain.When neoR was inactivated,the neomycin production was reduced about 40%in comparison with the WT strain.Quantitative RT-PCR analysis revealed that the transcriptional levels of genes in the aphA-neoGH operon were reduced clearly in the neoR::aac(3)Ⅳ mutant.Finally,the titers of neomycin were improved considerably by overexpression of qfsA-gand neoR in S.fradiae CGMCC 4.7387.Xiangxi Meng Wenzhao Wang Zhoujie Xie Pengwei Li Yue Li Zhengyan Guo Yingjian Lu Jie Yang Kaile Guan Zhaoxin Lu Huarong Tan Yihua Chen 2017Science China(Life Sciences)2017,60,9:7
6Review of Chinese atmospheric science research over the past 70 years: Climate and climate change显示文摘Climate and climate change have always been a research focus of atmospheric sciences. This paper summaries research efforts, achievements and international contributions of the Chinese scientific community on climate and climate change over the past 70 years. The review is based on papers published officially in national or international scientific journals,and is organized to cover six aspects:(1) general climate studies;(2) impact of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau;(3) impact of the East Asian monsoon;(4) influences of teleconnection oscillation and westerlies;(5) climate dynamics and development of climate models;and(6) climate change. 7Features of aerosol optical depth and its relation to extreme temperatures in China during 1980–2001显示文摘Based on Total Ozone Mapping Spectrometer (TOMS) monthly aerosol optical thickness (AOT) measurements in 1980–2001 a study is made of space/time patterns and difference between land and sea of AOT 0.50 μm thick over China,which are put into correlation analysis with synchronous extreme temperature indices (warm/cold day and night).Results suggest that 1) the long-term mean AOT over China is characterized by typical geography,with pronounced land-sea contrast.And AOT has significant seasonality and its seasonal difference is diminished as a function of latitude.2) On the whole,the AOT displays an appreciably increasing trend,with the distinct increase in the eastern Qinghai-Tibetan plateau and SW China,North China,the mid-lower Changjiang (MiLY) valley as well as the South China Sea,but marginal decrease over western/northern Xinjiang and part of South China.3) The AOT over land and sea is marked by conspicuous intra-seasonal and -yearly oscillations,with remarkable periods at one-,two-yr and more (as interannual periods).4) Land AOT change is well correlated with extremely temperature indexes.Generally,the correlations of AOT to the extreme temperature indices are more significant in Eastern China with 110 ° E as the division.Their high-correlation regions are along the Southern China coastline,the Loess Plateau and the Sichuan Basin,and even higher in North China Plain and the mid-lower Changjiang River reaches.5) Simulations of LMDZ-regional model indicate that aerosol effects may result in cooling all over China,particularly in Eastern China.The contribution of aerosol change may result in more decrease in the maximum temperature than the minimum,with decrease of 0.11/0.08 K for zonal average,respectively.HU Ting SUN Zhaobo LI Zhaoxin 2011Acta Oceanologica Sinica2011,30,2:6
8Theoretical analysis on the deformation characteristics of coal wall in a longwall top coal caving face显示文摘Against the background of analyzing coal wall stability in 14101 fully mechanized longwall top coal caving face in Majialiang coal mine,based on the torque equilibrium of the coal wall,shield support and the roof strata,an elastic mechanics model was established to calculate the stress applied on the coal wall.The displacement method was used to obtain the stress and deformation distributions of the coal wall.This study also researched the influence of support resistance,protective pressure to the coal wall,fracture position of the main roof and mining height on the coal wall deformation.The following conclusions are drawn:(1) The shorter the distance from the longwall face,the greater the vertical compressive stress and horizontal tensile stress borne by the coal wall.The coal wall is prone to failure in the form of compressive-shear and tension;(2) With increasing support resistance,the revolution angle of the main roof decreases linearly.As the support resistance and protective force supplied by the face guard increases,the maximum deformation of the coal wall decreases linearly;(3) As the face approaches the fracture position of the main roof,coal wall horizontal deformation increases significantly,and the coal wall is prone to instability;and(4) The best mining height of 14101 longwall face is 3.0 m.Bai Qingsheng Tu Shihao Li Zhaoxin Tu Hongsheng 2015International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2015,25,2:5

10Dynamic Airy imaging through high_efficiency broadband phase microelements by femtosecond laser direct writing显示文摘Manipulating Airy beams to symmetric Airy beams(SABs)with abruptly autofocusing and self accelerating properties has attracted much attention.With such a particular propagation dynamic,SABs may provide great potential in dynamic signal imaging.On the other hand,the generation of SABs by spatial light modulators suffers from the limitations of phase gradient accuracy,low optical efficiency(<40%),and a bulky footprint.Therefore,exploring imaging applications and optimal generation methods of these Airy-type beams deserves further research.Here,based on the coordinate transformation of SAB,an asymmetric Airy beam(AAB)is realized.Symmetric/asymmetric cubic phase microplates(SCPPs/ACPPs)are designed and fabricated for generating SAB/AAB.The SCPP/ACPP demonstrates superior performance:compact construction(60μm × 60μm × 1.1μm),continuous variation of phase,high efficiency(~81%at 532 nm),and broadband operation from 405 to 780 nm.Dynamic imaging under monochromatic and polychromatic lights is realized by the SAB/AAB,indicating various results at different propagation distances with a certain initial signal.Further investigation reveals that the SCPP on a soft substrate maintains its physical dimensions and optical properties unchanged during stretching.Our work enables wide potential applications in integrated optics,beam manipulation,and imaging.ZE CAI XINBO QI DENG PAN SHENGYUN JI JINCHENG NI ZHAOXIN LAO CHEN XIN JIAWEN LI YANLEI HU DONG Wu JIARU CHI 2020Photonics Research2020,8,6:3
11The influences of biotic and abiotic factors on the occurrence and severity of poplar canker disease in Qingfeng County, China and the management implications显示文摘Landscape pathology is a research approach that can provide validation of the effectiveness of regional controls of forest disease at a landscape scale. In this paper,we analyzed the effects of stand features, management approaches, and geographical locations on poplar canker disease incidence(DI) and disease severity index(DSI) of individual trees at a 10 km ×10 km mesoscale landscape in Qingfeng County, China. DI varied significantly with stand age, tree densities, and the degree of canopy closure.DI in stands younger than 4 years old was significantly lower than that in the stands over 6 years old and reached the highest value at a stand age of 8–10 years. Overall, DI was positively correlated with stand age, stand density, and the degree of canopy closure. DI was significantly lower in agro-forest stand patches than in other three patch types,i.e. isolated patch, pure stand patch, and mixed stand patch.Poplar plantations distributed around and near to villages exhibited significantly higher DI mainly due to human activities and herbivores. Fragmentation or connectivity in this mesoscale landscape seemed not impact disease occurrence. DSI was not significantly correlated with stand density, but varied significantly with tree varieties and trees ages. DSI was highest in stands of 10–12 year trees for all poplar varieties we studied here. Plantation density and plantation age were thus critical factors in determining DI and DSI. A logistic predictive model of disease occurrence was developed for the study area, considering varieties,age, height, density, canopy cover, stand types, patch types,management status, and stand geographical locations. 12One-step fabrication superhydrophobic sand filter for capillary-driven separation of water-in-oil emulsions显示文摘The efficient separation of water-in-oil emulsion is of significance in environment and energy filed,and it has become a world-wide challenge.Herein,we have presented a one-step,facile and low-cost approach to prepare superhydrophobic sands for efficient separation of water-in-oil emulsion.The as-prepared sand layers possessed a water contact angle higher than 151°,demonstrating their superior superhydrophobic property.Besides,the as-prepared sand layers could separate water-in-emulsions with separation efficiency up to 99.7%,which is superior to both traditional and superwettable filtration membranes.The effect of thickness of sand layer on separation performance was also investigated.The results showed that the filtration flux decreased with the increased of filtration thickness while the separation efficiency increased.The as-prepared sand layer proposed by this study is a processing candidate for separating water-in-oil emulsion in practical industry.Additionally,the as-prepared superhydrophobic sand fabrication method also provides an alternative for desert water storage.Bao Wang Chaolang Chen Zhaoxin Li Jianfeng Wu Xianglou Liu Jiadao Wang 2021Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2021,34,5:2
13Technology of back stoping from level floors in gateway and pillar mining areas of extra-thick seams显示文摘According to the special requirements of secondary mining of resources in gateway-and-pillar goaf in extra-thick seams of Shanxi, this paper presents a technical proposal of back stoping from level floors.Numerical simulation and theoretical analysis are used to investigate the compaction characteristics of cavities under stress as well as an appropriate mining height of the primary-mining layer based on different mining widths and pillar widths. For Yangjian coal mine, the mining thickness of the first seam during back stoping from level floor is determined to be 3 m, which meets the relevant requirements.Gateway-and-pillar goaf of a single layer has a range of influence of 9 m vertically. If gateway-and-pillar goaf occurs both in 9-1 and 9-5 layers, the range is extended to within 11.2 m. When the mining width of a gateway is less than 2 m or larger than 5 m, the gateway-and-pillar goaf in the upper layer of the primary-mining seam can be filled in and compacted after stoping. When the working face is 2 m away from the gateway and pillar before entering into it and after passing through it, the coal body under the gateway and pillar is subjected to relatively high stress. 17Encryption/decryption and microtarget capturing by pH-driven Janus microstructures fabricated by the same femtosecond laser printing parameters显示文摘Several natural organism can change shape under external stimuli. These natural phenomena have inspired a vast amount of research on exploration and implementation of reconfigurable shape transformation. The Janus structure is a promising approach to achieve shape transformation based on its heterogeneous chemical or physical properties on opposite sides.However, the heterogeneity is generally realized by multi-step processing, different materials,and/or different processing parameters. Here, we present a simple and flexible method of producing p H-sensitive Janus microactuators from a single material, using the same laser printing parameters. These microactuators exhibit reversible structural deformations with large bending angles of ~31°and fast response(~0.2 s) by changing the p H value of the aqueous environment. Benefited from the high flexibility of the laser printing technique and the spatial arrangements, pillar heights, and bending directions of microactuators are readily controlled,enabling a variety of switchable ordered patterns and complex petal-like structures on flat surfaces and inside microchannels. 20PDMS prism-glass optical coupling for surface plasmon resonance sensors based on MEMS technology显示文摘A miniaturized surface plasmon resonance (SPR) chip has been developed for biomedical and chem-ical analysis with low cost and high performance. The techniques of bulk silicon micromachining and polymer replication were used to fabricate the Kretschmann SPR sensor composed of a Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) prism, a coupling glass and microchannels. The plasmon properties of thin metal films were investigated theoret-ically based on Fresnel analysis, with optical boundary conditions pertaining to the surface plasmon resonance at the gold/water and gold/air interfaces. The theoretical results show that difference in the refractive index (RI) between the PDMS prism and the coupling glass layer affect the precision of the SPR angle and the SPR curve. Meanwhile, the period of the interference fringe attaching on the SPR curve increases with an increase in wavelength and a decrease in the refractive index of the coupling glass layer. The gold thickness of 50 nm is required while employing a fixed incident wavelength of 650 nm, to achieve optimum SPR excitation conditions and the sensor sensitivity. The characteristics of this SPR sensor were evaluated in the angular interrogation mode of employing the incident wavelength of 650 nm in air and water media, respectively.
