| 2 | Metal chlorides loaded on activated carbon to capture elemental mercury显示文摘Activated carbon (AC) was considered to be an effective sorbent to control mercury in combustion systems. However, its capture capacity was low and it required a high carbon-to-mercury mass ratio. AC loaded with catalyst showed a high elemental mercury (Hg 0 ) capture capacity due to large surface area of AC and high oxidization ability of catalyst. In this study, several metal chlorides and metal oxides were used to promote the sorption capacity of AC. As a result, metal chlorides were better than metal oxides loaded on AC to remove gaseous mercury. X-ray diffractometer (XRD), thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA) and specific surface area by Brunauer- Emmett-Teller method (BET) analysis showed the main mechanisms: first, AC had an enormous surface area for loading enough MClx; second, Cl and MxOy were generated during pyrogenation of MClx; finally, there were lots of active elements such as Cl and MxOy which could react with elemental mercury and convert it to mercury oxide and mercury chloride. The HgO and HgCl 2 might be released from AC's porous structure by thermo regeneration. A catalytic chemisorption mechanism predominates the sorption process of elemental mercury. As Co and Mn were valence variable metal elements, their catalytic effect on Hg 0 oxidization may accelerate both oxidation and halogenation of Hg 0 . | 3 | Ethylene Emission as a Potential Indicator of Fuji Apple Flavor Quality Evaluation Under Low Temperature显示文摘Fuji apple(Malus×domestica Borkh.)is a popular fruit cultivar and occupies an important position in the fruit market due to its excellent flavor and storage quality.Ethylene emission can induce respiration,which would reduce postharvest quality and increase storage losses.In order to maintain fruit quality and extend shelf life,apples are usually stored in a low-temperature environment after harvest to reduce the formation of ethylene.Volatile aroma components are regarded as one of the most important aspects of flavor quality and a key factor for apple quality grading and customer satisfaction.Ethylene emission and its relationship with volatile aromas during low temperature,however,have not been determined.In this study,the dynamic changes of volatile aroma compounds of Fuji apples stored at 4°C were detected and analyzed for 42 days.The variation of ethylene released from Fuji apple was studied correspondingly.The results showed that ethyl butyrate,ethyl caproate,ethyl 2-methylbutyrate and 2-methylbutyl acetate were the main aroma components of Fuji apple.The change in ethylene emission and the normalized peak area of volatile aroma compounds exhibited a similar tendency that increased significantly from the 3rd day to the peak on the 14th day and then decreased;there was a positive linear correlation between them with a correlation coefficient of 0.79(P<0.05).Therefore,ethylene release can be used as a potential indicator for evaluation of volatile aroma compounds in apples.Using ethylene emission as an indicator could reduce the difficulty and complexity of volatile aroma evaluation,which could be a new non-destructive inspection choice for apple flavor quality assessment. | Weiyan Qi Haijing Wang Zhen Zhou Peng Yang Wenbin Wu Zhemin Li Xian Li | 2020 | Horticultural Plant Journal2020,6,4: | 18 |

| 5 | Depth of tumor invasion and tumor-occupied portions of stomach are predictive factors of intra-abdominal metastasis显示文摘Objective:Diagnostic laparoscopy is recommended for the pretherapeutic staging of gastric cancer to detect any unexpected or unconfirmed intra-abdominal metastasis.The aim of this study was to evaluate the role and indications of diagnostic laparoscopy in the detection of intra-abdominal metastasis.Methods:Standard diagnostic laparoscopy with peritoneal cytology examination was performed prospectively on patients who were clinically diagnosed with primary local advanced gastric cancer(c T≥2M0).We calculated the rate of intra-abdominal metastases identified by diagnostic laparoscopy,and examined the relationship between peritoneal dissemination(P)and cytology results(CY).Split-sample method was applied to find clinical risk factors for intra-abdominal metastasis.Multivariate logistic regression analysis and receiver-operator characteristic(ROC)analysis were performed in training set to find out risk factors of intra-abdominal metastasis,and then validate it in testing set.Results:Out of 249 c M0 patients,51(20.5%)patients with intra-abdominal metastasis were identified by diagnostic laparoscopy,including 20(8.0%)P1CY1,17(6.8%)P0CY1 and 14(5.6%)P1CY0 patients.In the training set,multivariate logistic regression analysis and ROC analysis showed that the depth of tumor invasion on computer tomography(CT)scan≥21 mm and tumor-occupied≥2 portions of stomach are predictive factors of metastasis.In the testing set,when diagnostic laparoscopy was performed on patients who had one or two of these risk factors,the sensitivity and positive predictive value for detecting intra-abdominal metastasis were 90.0%and32.1%,respectively.Conclusions:According to our results,depth of tumor invasion and tumor-occupied portions of stomach are predictive factors of intra-abdominal metastasis. | Ziyu Li Zhemin Li Shuqin Jia Zhaode Bu Lianhai Zhang Xiaojiang Wu Shuangxi Li Fei Shan Xin Ji Jiafu Ji | 2017 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2017,29,2: | 14 |
| 6 | Indosinian Orogenesis in the Lhasa Terrane, Tibet: New Muscovite ^(40)Ar-^(39)Ar Geochronology and Evolutionary Process显示文摘Muscovite 40 Ar-39 Ar dating of muscovite-quartz schist, eclogite and retrograde eclogite indicates an Indosinian orogenesis occurred at 220-240 Ma in the Lhasa terrane, which is caused by the closure of Paleo-Tethyan ocean basin and the following collision of the northern Lhasa terrane and southern Gondwana land. This Indosinian orogenesis is further confirmed by the regional sedimentary characteristics, magmatic activity and ophiolite mélange. This evidence suggests that the Indosinian orogenic belt in the Lhasa terrane is widely distributed from the Coqen county in the west, and then extends eastward through the Ningzhong and Sumdo area, finally turning around the eastern Himalayan syntaxis into the Bomi county. Based on the evolutionary process, the geological development of Lhasa terrane from early Paleozoic to early Mesozoic can be divided into seven stages. All of the seven stages make up a whole Wilson circle and reveal a perfect evolutionary process of the Paleo-Tethys ocean between the northern Lhasa terrane and southern Gondwana land. | 7 | An experimental study of salt expansion in sodium saline soils under transient conditions显示文摘Salt expansion in sulfate saline soils that are widely distributed in northwestern China causes serious infrastructural damages under low-temperature conditions. However, the mechanism of salt expansion under low temperatures is not clear. In this study, we conducted a series of cooling experiments combined with salt crystallization to study this mechanism, and employed an ionic model to calculate the supersaturation ratio of the solution. During the experiments, the strength and the process of salt expansion were examined under different cooling rates and various crystal morphologies. The relationship between temperature and supersaturation ratio under transient conditions was also considered. Results indicate that the initial supersaturation ratio of a sodium sulfate solution is closely related to environmental conditions, and that this ratio decreases with slowing the cooling rates and stabilizing the crystal forms. Higher initial supersaturation ratios lead to an increased non-steady-state zone, resulting in less salt expansion. On the other hand, chloride ion content has a distinct influence on the crystallization supersaturation ratio of the sodium sulfate solution, and higher chloride ion content can inhibit salt expansion in sodium saline soils. | 8 | Long-term joint effect of nutrients and temperature increase on algal growth in Lake Taihu,China显示文摘To study how global warming and eutrophication affect water ecosystems,a multiplicative growth Monod model,modified by incorporating the Arrhenius equation,was applied to Lake Taihu to quantitatively study the relationships between algal biomass and both nutrients and temperature using long-term data.To qualitatively assess which factor was a limitation of the improved model,temperature variables were calculated using annual mean air temperature (AT),water temperature (WT),and their average temperature (ST),while substrate variables were calculated using annual mean total nitrogen (TN),total phosphorus (TP),and their weighted aggregate (R),respectively.The nine fitted curves showed that TN and AT were two important factors influencing algal growth;AT limited growth as algal photosynthesis is mainly carried out near the water surface;N leakage of phytoplankton and internal phosphorus load from sediment explains why TN was the best predictor of peak biomass using the Monod model.The fitted results suggest that annual mean algal biomass increased by 0.145 times when annual mean AT increased by 1.0°C.Results also showed that the more eutrophic the lake,the greater the effect AT had on algal growth.Subsequently,the long-term joint effect of annual temperature increase and eutrophication to water ecosystems can be quantitatively assessed and predicted. | Chun Ye Zhemin Shen Tao Zhang Maohong Fan Yangming Lei Jianda Zhang | 2011 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,2: | 9 |

In the model, the high-frequency primary wave interaction region that is truncated by a low-pass acoustic filter can be viewed as a cylindrical source within the Rayleigh distance of the piston. When the radius of the piston is much smaller than the length of the parametric region, this model is reduced to the Berketey’s End-Fire Line Army model. | 11 | Multimetallic AuPd@Pd@Pt core-interlayer-shell icosahedral electrocatalysts for highly efficient oxygen reduction reaction显示文摘Incorporating Pt with core metals into Pt-based core-shell catalysts is regarded as a promising strategy to substantially enhance the catalytic properties towards oxygen reduction reaction(ORR) in fuel cells due to the synergetic effect between distinct metals. In this wok, ultrathin Pt skins with two atomic layers were epitaxially coated on as-prepared icosahedral Au_50Pd_50, Au_60Pd_40 and Au_66Pd_34 nanocrystal seeds,which are constructed with alloyed cores and Pd shells with different thickness. Through electron microscopic characterizations, Pd interlayers with tunable thickness of 3, 6, and 12 atomic layers can be found in the Au_66Pd_34@Pt, Au_60 Pd_40@Pt and Au_50Pd_50@Pt icosahedra, respectively. These icosahedral Au Pd@Pd@Pt nanocrystals show substantially enhanced activities and durabilities in electrocatalytic measurements towards ORR compared to Au_75Pd_25@Pt icosahedra without Pd interlayer and commercial Pt/C catalysts. | 12 | Convective Initiation by Topographically Induced Convergence Forcing over the Dabie Mountains on 24 June 2010显示文摘The initiation of convective cells in the late morning of 24 June 2010 along the eastward extending ridge of the Dabie Mountains in the Anhui region,China,is studied through numerical simulations that include local data assimilation.A primary convergence line is found over the ridge of the Dabie Mountains,and along the ridge line several locally enhanced convergence centers preferentially initiate convection.Three processes responsible for creating the overall convergence pattern are identified.First,thermally-driven upslope winds induce convergence zones over the main mountain peaks along the ridge,which are shifted slightly downwind in location by the moderate low-level easterly flow found on the north side of a Mei-yu front.Second,flows around the main mountain peaks along the ridge create further convergence on the lee side of the peaks.Third,upslope winds develop along the roughly north–south oriented valleys on both sides of the ridge due to thermal and dynamic channeling effects,and create additional convergence between the peaks along the ridge.The superposition of the above convergence features creates the primary convergence line along the ridge line of the Dabie Mountains.Locally enhanced convergence centers on the primary line cause the initiation of the first convection cells along the ridge.These conclusions are supported by two sensitivity experiments in which the environmental wind(dynamic forcing) or radiative and land surface thermal forcing are removed,respectively.Overall,the thermal forcing effects are stronger than dynamic forcing given the relatively weak environmental flow. | Qiwei WANG Ming XUE Zhemin TAN | 2016 | Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2016,33,10: | 4 |
| 13 | Mesoscale Dynamics and Its Application in Torrential Rainfall Systems in China显示文摘Progress over the past decade in understanding moisture-driven dynamics and torrential rain storms in China is reviewed in this paper. First, advances in incorporating moisture effects more realistically into theory are described, including the development of a new parameter, generalized moist potential vorticity(GMPV) and an improved moist ageostrophic Q vector(Qum). Advances in vorticity dynamics are also described, including the adoption of a 'parcel dynamic' approach to investigate the development of the vertical vorticity of an air parcel; a novel theory of slantwise vorticity development, proposed because vorticity develops easily near steep isentropic surfaces; and the development of the convective vorticity vector(CVV)as an effective new tool. The significant progress in both frontal dynamics and wave dynamics is also summarized, including the geostrophic adjustment of initial unbalanced flow and the dual role of boundary layer friction in frontogenesis, as well as the interaction between topography and fronts, which indicate that topographic perturbations alter both frontogenesis and frontal structure. For atmospheric vortices, mixed wave/vortex dynamics has been extended to explain the propagation of spiral rainbands and the development of dynamical instability in tropical cyclones. | 14 | Removal of phosphate by Fe-coordinated amino-functionalized 3D mesoporous silicates hybrid materials显示文摘Phosphate removal from aqueous waste streams is an important approach to control the eutrophication downstream bodies of water.A Fe(III) coordinated amino-functionalized silicate adsorbent for phosphate adsorption was synthesized by a post-grafting and metal cation incorporation process.The surface structure of the adsorbent was characterized by X-ray diffraction,N2 adsoropion/desoprotion technique,and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy.The experimental results showed that the adsorption equilibrium data were well fitted to the Langmuir equation.The maximum adsorption capacity of the modified silicate material was 51.8 mg/g.The kinetic data from the adsorption of phosphate were fitted to pseudo second-order model.The phosphate adsorption was highly pH dependent and the relatively high removal of phosphate fell within the pH range 3.0-6.0.The coexistence of other anions in solutions has an adverse effect on phosphate adsorption;a decrease in adsorption capacity followed the order of exogenous anions:F > SO2-4 > NO-3 > Cl-.In addition,the adsorbed phosphate could be desorbed by NaOH solutions.This silicate adsorbent with a large adsorption capacity and relatively high selectivity could be utilized for the removal of phosphate from aqueous waste streams or in aquatic environment. | Jianda Zhang Zhemin Shen Zhijian Mei Shanping Li Wenhua Wang | 2011 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,2: | 4 |

| 18 | Effects of surface drag on low-level frontogenesis within baroclinic waves显示文摘Using a three-dimensional nonhydrostatic mesoscale numerical model (MM5), the evolution and structures of baroclinic waves with and without surface drag in case of dry and moist atmosphere are simulated, with special emphases on the effects of surface drag on the low-level frontal structure and frontogenesis. There are two different effects of surface drag on the low-level frontogenesis in the dry case. On one hand, the surface drag weakens the low-level frontogenesis and less inclined to develop the baroclinic wave due to the dissipation. But on the other hand, the surface drag induces a strong ageostrophic flow, which prolongs the low-level frontogenesis and finally leads to the enhancement of cold front. Compared with the no surface drag case, the surface drag increases the frontal slope espe- cially in the boundary layer, where the front is almost vertical to the surface, and then enhances the prefrontal vertical motion. The predictive skill of these TCs are analyzed based on ensemble forecasts of ECMWF and NCEP. Results of the overall performance show that ensemble forecasts of ECMWF generally have higher predictive skill of track and intensity forecasts than those of NCEP. Specifically, ensemble forecasts of ECMWF have higher predictive skill of intensity forecasts for Rumbia(2018) and Ampil(2018) than those of NCEP, and both have low predictive skill of intensity forecasts for Jongdari(2018) at peak intensity. To improve the predictive skill of ensemble forecasts for TCs, a method that estimates adaptive weights for members of an ensemble forecast is proposed. The adaptive weights are estimated based on the fit of ensemble priors and posteriors to observations. The performances of ensemble forecasts of ECMWF and NCEP using the adaptive weights are generally improved for track and intensity forecasts.
