| 2 | First observations of low latitude whistlers using WHU ELF/VLF receiver system显示文摘The recently developed high-quality WHU ELF/VLF receiver system has been deployed in Suizhou, China(geomagnetic latitude 21.81°N, longitude 174.44°E, L=1.16) to detect low latitude extremely-low-frequency(ELF: 0.3-3 k Hz) and very-low-frequency(VLF: 3-30 k Hz) emissions originating from either natural or artificial sources since February 2016. During the first-month operation of the receiver system, a total of 3039 clear whistlers have been recorded at this low latitude station with the majority(97.0%) occurring on 28 February and 1 March 2016. Observed whistlers manifest various types including single one-hop, echo train, multi-flash, and multi-path. They tend to intensify after local midnight, reach the peak around 04-05 LT, and then weaken quickly. Both features of lower cutoff frequencies of most whistlers below ~1.6 k Hz and almost uniform dispersion for many successive multi-flash whistlers suggest that these whistlers propagate along the geomagnetic field lines in the duct mode. | 3 | Petrogenesis of keratophyes in the Pingshui Group,Zhejiang:Constraints from zircon U-Pb ages and Hf isotopes显示文摘Zircon LA-ICP-MS U-Pb ages and Hf isotopic as well as whole-rock geochemical data are reported for keratophyes in the Pingshui Group, Zhejiang. The results are used to discuss their petrogenesis and geological significance. The keratophyes were dated at 904±8 to 906±10 Ma. These intermediate-felsic rocks are characterized by high LREE contents and depletion of HREE and HFSE (e.g., Nb, Ta, Ti, P), resembling arc-derived rocks. The keratophyes exhibit positive εHf(t) values of 8.6 to 15.4, consistent with their εNd(t) values of 6.4 to 7.9 but far away from those of crust-derived rocks. Such features indi-cate that they were likely originated from prompt reworking of juvenile crust by arc-continent collision during the early-Neoproterozoic assembly between the Cathaysia and Yangtze Blocks. | 4 | A detailed investigation of low latitude tweek atmospherics observed by the WHU ELF/VLF receiver:2.Occurrence features and associated ionospheric parameters显示文摘As a companion paper to Zhou RX et al.(2020),this study describes application of the automatic detection and analysis module to identify all the tweek atmospherics detectible in the WHU ELF/VLF receiver data collected at Suizhou station during the period of 3 February through 29 February 2016.Detailed analysis of the identified low-latitude tweek events reveals that the occurrence rate varies considerably—from 800 to 6000 tweeks per day,and exhibits a strong diurnal and local time dependence,the peak occurring before local midnight.The diurnal variation of identified tweeks was similar to that of the lightning data obtained by the World-Wide Lightning Location Network(WWLLN)..Estimates of the propagation distance and ionospheric reflection height of tweek atmospherics suggest that the majority(~92%)of the low latitude tweeks originate from the lightning activity within a radius of 4000 km and that they are very likely to reflect from the lower ionospheric D-region at the height range of 75–85 km.At these lower ionospheric reflection altitudes,~74%of the corresponding electron densities from the tweek spectral measurements are within 24.5–27.5 cm^-3.The daily variation of estimated D-region electron densities in the considered period(February 2016)also exhibits a small overall increasing trend from early to later in the month. | Juan Yi XuDong Gu Wen Cheng XinYue Tang Long Chen BinBin Ni RuoXian Zhou ZhengYu Zhao Qi Wang LiQing Zhou | 2020 | Earth and Planetary Physics2020,4,3: | 8 |
| 5 | A detailed investigation of low latitude tweek atmospherics observed by the WHU ELF/VLF receiver:Ⅰ. Automatic detection and analysis method显示文摘As a dispersive wave mode produced by lightning strokes, tweek atmospherics provide important hints of lower ionospheric(i.e., D-region) electron density. Based on data accumulation from the WHU ELF/VLF receiver system, we develop an automatic detection module in terms of the maximum-entropy-spectral-estimation(MESE) method to identify unambiguous instances of low latitude tweeks.We justify the feasibility of our procedure through a detailed analysis of the data observed at the Suizhou Station(31.57°N, 113.32°E) on17 February 2016. A total of 3961 tweeks were registered by visual inspection;the automatic detection method captured 4342 tweeks, of which 3361 were correct ones, producing a correctness percentage of 77.4%(= 3361/4342) and a false alarm rate of 22.6%(= 981/4342).A Short-Time Fourier Transformation(STFT) was also applied to trace the power spectral profiles of identified tweeks and to evaluate the tweek propagation distance. It is found that the fitting accuracy of the frequency–time curve and the relative difference of propagation distance between the two methods through the slope and through the intercept can be used to further improve the accuracy of automatic tweek identification. | 7 | Almost perfect sequences based on cyclic difference sets显示文摘The perfect sequences are so ideal that all out-of-phase autocorrelation coefficients are zero, and if the sequences are used as the coding modulating signal for the phase-modulated radar, there will be no interference of side lobes theoretically. However, it has been proved that there are no binary perfect sequences of period 4 < n≤ 12100. Hence, the almost perfect sequences with all out-of-phase autocorrelation coefficients as zero except one are of great practice in engineering. Currently, the cyclic difference set is one of most effective tools to analyze the binary sequences with perfect periodic autocorrelation function. In this article, two characteristic formulas corresponding to the autocorrelation and symmetric structure of almost perfect sequences are calculated respectively. All almost perfect sequences with period n, which is a multiple of 4, can be figured out by the two formulas. | 8 | Application of the oblique ionogram as vertical ionogram显示文摘The vertical ionogram can provide the important ionospheric parameters, such as critical frequency, virtual height and electron density, for ionospheric research. The oblique ionosonde has the ability to detect the ionosphere over sea and other terrain where it is not practical to deploy vertical sounder and provide more ionograms with less transmitting and receiving devices. Therefore, the conversion of the oblique ionogram to vertical ionogram for obtaining the important ionospheric parameters is a very useful inversion technology. The experimental comparison between oblique and vertical detections was carried out in the equatorial ionospheric anomaly (EIA) region of south China on 25 and 26 August 2010. The oblique detecting path was from Wuhan to Shenzhen and the VI ionosonde was located in the midpoint of the oblique path. However, the existing numerical solutions degrade severely in the presence of small Doppler shifts. A new set of polyphase sequences is presented with good correlation properties as well as resilience to Doppler shifts. These sequences are built by using numerical optimization based on correlation properties as well as the Doppler effects on matched filter outputs, which maintains the Doppler tolerance. The statistical simulated annealing algorithm and the greedy code search method are used to optimize the sequences. | 11 | PKM2-dependent glycolysis promotes the proliferation and migration of vascular smooth muscle cells during atherosclerosis显示文摘Increased glycolysis is involved in the proliferation and migration of vascular smooth muscle cells(VSMCs).Pyruvate kinase isoform M2(PKM2),a key rate-limiting enzyme in glycolysis,accelerates the proliferation and migration of tumor cells.Although the intracellular mecha nisms associated with oxidized low-density lipoprotein(oxLDL)-stimulated VSMC proliferation and migration have been extensively explored,it is still unclear whether oxLDL promotes the proliferation and migration of VSMCs by enhancing PKM2-dependent glycolysis.In the present study,we detected PKM2 expression and pyruvate kinase activity in oxLDL-treated VSMCs and explored the regulation of PKM2 in oxLDL-treated VSMCs and apoE^-/-mice.The results showed that PKM2 expression in VSMCs was higher in the intima than in the media in plaques from atherosclerotic rabbits.Moreover,PKM2 level in VSMCs was increased during atherosclerosis progression in apoE^-/-mice.Both PKM2 expression and pyruvate kinase activity were found to be upregulated by oxLDL stimulation in VSMCs.Shikonin(SKN),a specific inhibitor of PKM2,was found to inhibit the oxLDL-induced proliferation and migration in VSMCs,in addition to delaying the atherosclerosis progression in apoE^-/-mice.More importantly,oxLDL increased glucose uptake,ATP and lactate production,and the extracellular acidification rate in VSMCs,which could be reversed by SKN.Meanwhile,oxygen consumption rate was unchanged after oxLDL stimulation,suggesting that glycolysis is the main contributor to the energy supply in oxLDL-treated VSMCs.Our results suggest that oxLDL induces VSMC proliferation and migration by upregulating PKM2-dependent glycolysis,thereby contributing to the atherosclerosis progression.Thus,targeting PKM2-dependent glycolysis might provide a novel therapeutic approach for the treatment of atherosclerosis. | Xuezhu Zhao Fancheng Tan Xiaoru Cao Zhengyu Cao Bicheng Li Zhaoqian Shen Ye Tian | 2020 | Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2020,52,1: | 3 |

| 15 | Radiation belt electron scattering by whistler-mode chorus in the Jovian magnetosphere: Importance of ambient and wave parameters显示文摘Whistler-mode chorus waves are regarded as an important acceleration mechanism contributing to the formation of relativistic and ultra-relativistic electrons in the Jovian radiation belts. Quantitative determination of the chorus wave driven electron scattering effect in the Jovian magnetosphere requires detailed information of both ambient magnetic field and plasma density and wave spectral property, which however cannot be always readily acquired from observations of existed missions to Jupiter. We therefore perform a comprehensive analysis of the sensitivity of chorus induced electron scattering rates to ambient magnetospheric and wave parameters in the Jovian radiation belts to elaborate to which extent the diffusion coefficients depend on a number of key input parameters. It is found that quasi-linear electron scattering rates by chorus can be strongly affected by the ambient magnetic field intensity, the wave latitudinal coverage, and the peak frequency and bandwidth of the wave spectral distribution in the Jovian magnetosphere, while they only rely slightly on the background plasma density profile and the peak wave normal angle, especially when the wave emissions are confined at lower latitudes. Given the chorus wave amplitude, chorus induced electron scattering rates strongly depend on Jovian L-shell to exhibit a tendency approximately proportional to L_J^3. | 16 | Modification of physicochemical properties and degradation of barley flour upon enzymatic extrusion显示文摘In order to evaluate the application potential of enzyme-extruded barley flour(EEBF)in the brewing of whole-barley beer,the physicochemical properties,mashing and fermentation effects of EEBF were studied,and conventional extruded barley flour(CEBF)and steam-cooked barley flour(SCBF)were taken as controls.The water solubility index(WSI)of EEBF(46.88%-52.63%)was much higher than that of CEBF(6.70%)and SCBF(4.59%).The results of degree of gelatinization(DG)and enthalpy(ΔH)suggested that EEBF was almost completely gelatinized,and the rapid visco analyzer(RVA)exhibited that the peak viscosity of EEBF was drastically reduced.The weight-average molecular weight of EEBF(<10^(6) g/mol)was significantly lower than that of CEBF and SCBF.Scanning electron microscopy(SEM)showed that the heat-treatments caused starch granules to break and aggregate,and there were many hydrolyzed pores on the surface of EEBF.Both the long-and short-range order of EEBF were destroyed.Although EEBF caused serious filtration blocking,it greatly improved the alcohol content of finished beer(5.41%vol).Overall,the thermal modification of barley flour by enzyme-extrusion meets the needs of fermentation,and could improve the problem of limited leaching of unmalted barley,which was benefit for the production of whole-barley beer. | Shuna Zhao Aiquan Jiao Yueyue Yang Qing Liu Wenqi Wu Zhengyu Jin | 2022 | Food Bioscience2022,45,1: | 2 |
| 17 | A New Location Precision Model for Multi-Static Over-the-Horizon Radar System显示文摘In this paper, a multi-static system working in an active way is made up of ionospheric oblique backscatter sounding system (IOBSS) and two separate receiving stations, which adopts discontinuous wave mechanism. We have advanced a new model that contains skywave condition to locate over-the-horizon targets. We use a single quasi-parabolic (QP) ionosphere model and an analytic ray-tracing program to obtain the coordinate registration (CR) index, which changes skywave group range to ground range. Also, IOBSS and other two receiving stations use this distance information to locate the target which is far away from the system. The analytic expression for the geometric dilution of precision (GDOP) under different station deployments are obtained, which shows GDOP is influenced by the system measurement precision, the stations' coordinates, and CR index. By computer simulation, we find that GDOP of isosceles right triangle deployment is smaller than that of line deployment and location precision will be improved with increasing base line length.
