| 1 | Porous nitrogen-doped carbon/MnO coaxial nanotubes as an efficient sulfur host for lithium sulfur batteries显示文摘As a promising candidate for next generation energy storage devices, lithium sulfur (Li-S) batteries still confrant rapid capacity degradation and low rate capability. Herein, we report a well-architected porous nitrogen-doped carbon/MnO coaxial nanotubes (MnO@PNC) as an efficient sulfur host material. The host shows excellent electron conductivity, sufficient ion transport channels and strong adsorption capability for the polysulfides, resulting from the abundant nitrogen-doped sites and pores as well as MnO in the carbon shell of MnO@PNC. | 3 | Effects of marine sediment on the response of a submerged floating tunnel due to p- wave incidence显示文摘Submerged floating tunnel (SFT) is a novel type traffic structure for crossing long strait and deep lakes. To investigate the dynamic pressure acting on an SFT under compression (P) wave incidence, a theoretical analysis model considering marine sediment effect has been proposed. Based on displacement potential functions, the reflection and refraction coefficients of P wave in different media are derived. Numerical examples are employed to illustrate the effects of the thickness of sediment layer, the incident P wave angle, the tether stiffness and spacing, and the permeability of the sediment on the dynamic pressure loading on the SFT. The results show that dynamic pressure is related to the saturation of sediment and affected by the thickness of sediment. The partially saturated sediment will amplify the dynamic pressure loading on the SFT, and the resonance frequency increases a little with the fully saturated sediment. Besides, increasing the tether stiffness and decreasing in the tether spacing will lead to a dynamic pressure falling. | 7 | High-frequency enhanced response based on Sb_(2)Te_(3)topological insulators显示文摘Topological insulators represent a new quantum phase of matter with spin-polarized surface states that are protected from backscattering, exhibiting electronic responses to light, such as topological quantum phase transitions. However, the effects of high-frequency driving topological intrinsic systems have remained largely unexplored challenges experimentally for high-sensitivity terahertz detection. In this study, by integrating Sb2Te3 topological insulators with subwavelength metal antennas through micro-nano processing, a high-frequency terahertz detector with high sensitivity is proposed. The enhanced response originates from the asymmetric scattering of the surface electrons in the Sb_(2)Te_(3) flakes induced by the terahertz wave. The device displays room-temperature photodetection with a responsivity of 192 mA/W and equivalent noise power of less than 0.35 nW/Hz^(1/2) in the frequency range from 0.02 to 0.3 THz. | 8 | High-lying excited states in ^10Be from the ^9Be(^9Be,^10Be)^8Be reaction显示文摘A transfer-reaction experiment of ~9Be(~9Be,^(10)Be)~8Be was performed at a beam energy of 45 Me V.Excited states in ^(10)Be up to 18.80 Me V are produced using missing mass and invariant mass methods.Most of the observed high-lying resonant states,reconstructed from theα+~6He and t+~7Li decay channels,agree with the previously reported results.In addition,two new resonances at 15.6 and 18.8 Me V are identified from the present measurement.The 18.55 Me V state is found to decay into both the t + ~7Lig:s: and t + ~7Li?(0.478 MeV) channels, with a relative branching ratio of 0:93 ± 0:33. | 9 | Identification and Functional Analysis of Serum Specific miRNAs in Recurrent Aphthous Stomatitis Patients with Excess-heat or Yin-deficiency显示文摘Background:The treatment of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)in recurrent aphthous stomatitis(RAS)based on syndrome differentiation has won the international acceptance,but the molecular mechanism of excess-heat syndrome and yin-deficiency syndrome of RAS remains unclear.Objective:To clarify specific microRNAs(miRNAs)and their functions in RAS patients with excess-heat or yin-deficiency.Methods:Serum samples were collected from patients meeting the RAS diagnostic criteria of excess-heat or yin-deficiency syndrome and healthy individuals.Core miRNAs were then identified under miRNA microarray anal-yses.Target prediction and bioinformatic analyses were carried out and gene-pathway-networks were visualized to better understand the relationship between different genes and pathways.Results:(1)90 individuals meeting the inclusion criteria were collected in this study.Among them,9 miRNAs were screened out in excess-heat syndrome group(EH group),with 1 upregulated and 8 downregulated.And four miRNAs(hsa-miR-20b-5p,hsa-miR-122-5p,hsa-miR-483-5p and hsa-miR-3197)were validated by real-time PCR method.14 miRNAs were screened out in yin-deficiency syndrome group(YD group)(7 upregulated and 7 downregulated).And hsa-miR-17-5p,hsa-miR-106-5p and hsa-miR-20b-5p were validated.(2)A total of 4,776 target genes were identified in EH group which enriched in GO categories including nervous system development and calcium ion binding and pathway such as PI3K-Akt signaling pathway and Calcium signaling pathway.10,172 target genes were identified in YD group which enriched GO categories included protein binding and positive regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter and pathway included MAPK signaling pathway and Ras signaling pathway.Conclusion:Hsa-miR-20b-5p in patients with RAS could act as the novel target for the classification of the syndrome.It is upregulated in RAS patients with excess-heat syndrome while downregulated in patients with yin-deficiency syndrome.The PI3K-Akt and MAPK signaling pathways and their related target genes may provide new insights into the molecular mechanisms of RAS with excess-heat syndrome or yin-deficiency syndrome,respectively. | Jie Bao Zhengyang Zhu Xizhao Zhang Lin Huang Li Xu Xiaobing Dou Yongsheng Fan | 2023 | Clinical Complementary Medicine and Pharmacology2023,3,4: | 0 |

| 11 | Optimization-inspired manual architecture design and neural architecture search显示文摘Neural architecture has been a research focus in recent years due to its importance in deciding the performance of deep networks.Representative ones include a residual network(Res Net)with skip connections and a dense network(Dense Net)with dense connections.However,a theoretical guidance for manual architecture design and neural architecture search(NAS)is still lacking.In this paper,we propose a manual architecture design framework,which is inspired by optimization algorithms.It is based on the conjecture that an optimization algorithm with a good convergence rate may imply a neural architecture with good performance.Concretely,we prove under certain conditions that forward propagation in a deep neural network is equivalent to the iterative optimization procedure of the gradient descent algorithm minimizing a cost function.Inspired by this correspondence,we derive neural architectures from fast optimization algorithms,including the heavy ball algorithm and Nesterov’s accelerated gradient descent algorithm.Surprisingly,we find that we can deem the Res Net and Dense Net as special cases of the optimization-inspired architectures.These architectures offer not only theoretical guidance,but also good performances in image recognition on multiple datasets,including CIFAR-10,CIFAR-100,and Image Net.Moreover,we show that our method is also useful for NAS by offering a good initial search point or guiding the search space. | Yibo YANG Zhengyang SHEN Huan LI Zhouchen LIN | 2023 | Science China(Information Sciences)2023,66,11: | 0 |
| 12 | Newton design:designing CNNs with the family of Newton's methods显示文摘Nowadays,convolutional neural networks(CNNs)have led the developments of machine learning.However,most CNN architectures are obtained by manual design,which is empirical,time-consuming,and non-transparent.In this paper,we aim at offering better insight into CNN models from the perspective of optimization theory.We propose a unified framework for understanding and designing CNN architectures with the family of Newton’s methods,which is referred to as Newton design.Specifically,we observe that the standard feedforward CNN model(PlainNet)solves an optimization problem via a kind of quasi-Newton method.Interestingly,residual network(ResNet)can also be derived if we use a more general quasi-Newton method to solve this problem.Based on the above observations,we solve this problem via a better method,the Newton-conjugate-gradient(Newton-CG)method,which inspires Newton-CGNet.In the network design,we translate binary-value terms in the optimization schemes to dropout layers,so dropout modules naturally appear in the derived CNN structures with specific locations,rather than being an empirical training strategy.Extensive experiments on image classification and text categorization tasks verify that Newton-CGNets perform very competitively.Particularly,Newton-CGNets surpass their counterparts ResNets by over 4%on CIFAR-10 and over 10%on CIFAR-100,respectively. | Zhengyang SHEN Yibo YANG Qi SHE Changhu WANG Jinwen MA Zhouchen LIN | 2023 | Science China(Information Sciences)2023,66,6: | 0 |

| 16 | UM15 reinforces a lymphocyte-mimicking nanotrap for precise HIV-1 inhibition显示文摘Even the potential of T cell-mimicking nanotrap for long term viral control due to its overcoming of human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)genetic diversity and viral resistance,the robust HIV inhibition was not expected because these nanotraps displayed no obvious advantages compared with the infinite host cells.Herein,a glycoprotein 120(gp120)-targeting polypeptide UM15 reinforced lymphocyte-mimicking nanotrap was constructed,and its improved HIV-1 inhibiting efficacy was validated.According to the results,the constructed nanotraps exhibited evident escaping ability from uptake of the mononuclear phagocyte system and highly improved binding ability with gp120 proteins.The constructed nanotraps neutralized all tested HIV-1 pseudo typed viruses with IC80 of 21.0μg/mL,and inhibited both X4-tropic and R5-tropic HIV-1 with IC80 of 34.4 and 20.6μg/mL,respectively.Approximately 40%of gp120 was observed to be shed from pseudo virus,and above 40%bystander T cells were prevented from gp120-induced death by the constructed nanotraps.The safety of the constructed nanotraps was confirmed both in vitro and in mice.Therefore,the constructed nanotraps could specifically neutralize free HIV-1,selectively bind with gp120 expressing HIV-1 infected cells,cause gp120 shedding,inhibit gp120-induced bystander T cell killing on the premise of safety,and were considered as promising therapeutic agents for precise inhibition of HIV. | Jinbang Zhang Zhengyang Li Jiaxin Li Hui Li Junwei Che Te Zhao Pengfei Zou Jingwan Han Yang Yang Meiyan Yang Yuli Wang Wei Gong Haihua Xiao Zhiping Li Lin Li Chunsheng Gao | 2023 | Nano Research2023,16,7: | 0 |
