1Highly Dispersed Cobalt Nanoparticles Embedded in Nitrogen-Doped Graphitized Carbon for Fast and Durable Potassium Storage显示文摘Potassium-ion batteries(KIBs)have great potential for applications in large-scale energy storage devices.However,the larger radius of K+leads to sluggish kinetics and inferior cycling performance,severely restricting its practical applicability.Herein,we propose a rational strategy involving a Prussian blue analogue-derived graphitized carbon anode with fast and durable potassium storage capability,which is constructed by encapsulating cobalt nanoparticles in nitrogen-doped graphitized carbon(Co-NC).Both experimental and theoretical results show that N-doping effectively promotes the uniform dispersion of cobalt nanoparticles in the carbon matrix through Co-N bonds.Moreover,the cobalt nanoparticles and strong Co-N bonds synergistically form a threedimensional conductive network,increase the number of adsorption sites,and reduce the diffusion energy barrier,thereby facilitating the adsorption and the diffusion kinetics.These multiple effects lead to enhanced reversible capacities of 305 and 208.6 mAh g^−1 after 100 and 300 cycles at 0.05 and 0.1 A g^−1,respectively,demonstrating the applicability of the Co-NC anode for KIBs.Xiaodong Shi Zhenming Xu Cheng Han Runze Shi Xianwen Wu Bingan Lu Jiang Zhou Shuquan Liang 2021Nano-Micro Letters2021,13,2:4
2Seismic behavior of breakwaters on complex ground by numerical tests:Liquefaction and post liquefaction ground settlements显示文摘A large number of breakwaters have been constructed along coasts to protect humans and infrastructures from tsunamis.There is a risk that foundation soils of these structures may liquefy,or partially liquefy during the earthquake preceding a tsunami,which would greatly reduce the structures’capacity to resist the tsunami.It is necessary to consider not only the soil’s liquefaction behavior due to earthquake motions but also its post-liquefaction behavior because this behavior will affect the breakwater’s capacity to resist an incoming tsunami.In this study,numerical tests based on a sophisticated constitutive model and a soil-water coupled finite element method are used to predict the mechanical behavior of breakwaters and the surrounding soils.Two real breakwaters subjected to two different seismic excitations are examined through numerical simulation.The simulation results show that,earthquakes affect not only the immediate behavior of breakwaters and the surrounding soils but also their long-term settlements due to post-earthquake consolidation.A soil profile with thick clayey layers beneath liquefied soil is more vulnerable to tsunami than a soil profile with only sandy layers.Therefore,quantitatively evaluating the seismic behavior of breakwaters and surrounding soils is important for the design of breakwater structures to resist tsunamis.Gu Linlin Zhang Feng Bao Xiaohua Shi Zhenming Ye Guanlin Ling Xianzhang 2018Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Vibration2018,17,2:3

7DEM investigation of weathered rocks using a novel bond contact model显示文摘The distinct element method(DEM) incorporated with a novel bond contact model was applied in this paper to shed light on the microscopic physical origin of macroscopic behaviors of weathered rock, and to achieve the changing laws of microscopic parameters from observed decaying properties of rocks during weathering. The changing laws of macroscopic mechanical properties of typical rocks were summarized based on the existing research achievements. Parametric simulations were then conducted to analyze the relationships between macroscopic and microscopic parameters, and to derive the changing laws of microscopic parameters for the DEM model. Equipped with the microscopic weathering laws, a series of DEM simulations of basic laboratory tests on weathered rock samples was performed in comparison with analytical solutions. The results reveal that the relationships between macroscopic and microscopic parameters of rocks against the weathering period can be successfully attained by parametric simulations. 10Kernel broken smooth particle hydrodynamics method for crack propagation simulation applied in layered rock cells and tunnels显示文摘Understanding the cracking process of layered tunnels requires a high-fidelity method.Improved smooth particle hydrodynamics(SPH),termed kernel broken SPH(KBSPH),was implemented to simulate the crack propagation and deformation of layered rock cells and field layered tunnels with dip angles of 0°–90°,and the results were compared with those of the laboratory tests.Three attempts,including the bedding angle,interlayer distance,and lateral pressure coefficient,were made to investigate the crack propagation and deformation of layered tunnels.Finally,the pros and cons of the KBSPH method applied in the rock field were compared with those of other methods.The results indicate that the KBSPH can explicitly reproduce crack propagation by improving the kernel function with a totally damaged symbol,and the deformation responses have been captured reasonably.We infer that this method is effective and rapid in crack propagation and large deformation simulation for other types of rock tunnels.Chengzhi Xia Zhenming Shi Hongchao Zheng Xiaohan Wu 2023Underground Space2023,,3:0
11Association between SLC17A7 gene polymorphisms and venlafaxine for major depressive disorder in a Chinese Han population:a prospective pharmacogenetic case-control study显示文摘Objective: Venlafaxine is a common antidepressant and its therapeutic effect varies among people with different genetic backgrounds. The aim of this study was to investigate whether single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in theSLC17A7 gene are associated with the treatment outcome of venlafaxine in a Chinese Han population with major depressive disorder.Methods: This prospective pharmacogenetic case-control study that involved genotyping of four SNPs ofSLC17A7 was conducted on 175 major depressive disorder patients of Chinese Han origin, aged 18 to 65 years, participated in the study from April 2005 to September 2006. Comparisons of allele and genotype frequencies of all SNPs were performed between the responder/remission group and the nonresponder/nonremission group. This study was approved by the Institutional Ethics Committee of Sichuan University (approval No. 20151112-265).Results: The allele and genotype frequencies of the four candidate SNPs inSCL17A7 showed no significant difference between responders and nonresponders. Meanwhile, no significant difference was detected in the four investigatedSLC17A7 SNPs between patients who did and did not exhibit remission. 12Carrying capacity for shorebirds during migratory seasons at the Jiuduansha Wetland, Yangtze River Estuary, China显示文摘The carrying capacity of food resources for migrating shorebirds was estimated at a stopover site in the Yangtze River Estuary during the two migratory seasons(spring and autumn).From March to May and September to November 2005,the macrobenthos resources of the Jiuduansha Wetland were investigated,and most of the macrobenthos species in the newlyformed shoal were found to be appropriate food for shorebirds.Biomass measurements showed that the total food resource was about 4541.20 kg AFDW(Ash-Free Dry Weight)in spring and about 2279.64 kg AFDW in autumn.Calculations were also done in the available habitats(intertidal bare mudflat and Scirpus×mariqueter/Scirpus triqueter zones)for the shorebirds.The food resources in the available areas were about 3429.03 kg AFDWin spring and about 1700.92 kgAFDWin autumn.Based on the classification(by lean weight,basic metabolic rate and body length)of the shorebird community,and using the energy depletion model,it was theorized that all of the food resources in the Jiuduansha Wetland could support about 3.5 million shorebirds during spring season and 1.75 million shorebirds during autumn season.The shorebird carrying capacities in terms of the available food were about 2.6 million and 1.3 million birds during the two respective migration seasons.Considering the effect of intake rate,the potential carrying capacity was about 0.13–0.26 million shorebirds in the study area.The main factor restricting use of the area by shorebirds was the scarcity of available habitats for roosting at high tide rather than availability of food supply.We recommend restoring some wading pools in the dense Phragmites australis and Spartina alterniflora zones for shorebirds to roost in,to improve shorebirds’utilization efficiency of the resources in the Jiuduansha Wetland.Zhenming GE Xiao ZHOU Wenyu SHI Tianhou WANG 2008Frontiers in Biology2008,3,4:0
13A review of fracture mechanic behaviors of rocks containing various defects显示文摘The existence of defects in a rock mass is a vital factor complicating the mechanical response of the rock mass under stress.The characteristics of defects control the rock mass’s mechanical behaviors.This report reviews the experimental studies on the influence of simulating the internal defects of rock mass’s mechanical properties.The effects of preexisting defects(shape,size,number,angle,and other factors)on the mechanical properties and failure modes of the rock are investigated from the perspectives of rock failure and fracture mechanics.The fracture propagation mechanisms of different defective rock masses are analyzed by studying the stress state of different defective rock masses under uniaxial compression.After the defective rock samples with varying inclination angles are destroyed,the relationship among the compressive strength,the fracture propagation,and the failure characteristics is explored.The primary findings are as follows.The increase in the size and number of defects rapidly damages the mechanical properties of the rock and intensifies defect penetration and expansion.The rock mechanics characteristics of fissured rocks with different inclination angles show two primary variations:one is a continuous increase,and the other is a decrease followed by an increase.This result is strongly related to the failure pattern of rocks with preexisting fissures.This investigation is crucial for further studying the failure modes of complex defective rock masses and the geotechnical engineering related to defective rocks.Fei Zhao Zhenming Shi Songbo Yu Hongchao Zheng 2023Underground Space2023,,5:0
