| 3 | 1-Pbps orbital angular momentum fibre-optic transmission显示文摘Space-division multiplexing(SDM),as a main candidate for future ultra-high capacity fibre-optic communications,needs to address limitations to its scalability imposed by computation-intensive multi-input multi-output(MIMO)digital signal processing(DSP)required to eliminate the crosstalk caused by optical coupling between multiplexed spatial channels.By exploiting the unique propagation characteristics of orbital angular momentum(OAM)modes in ring core fibres(RCFs),a system that combines SDM and C+L band dense wavelength-division multiplexing(DWDM)in a 34 km 7-core RCF is demonstrated to transport a total of 24960 channels with a raw(net)capacity of 1.223(1.02)Peta-bit s−1(Pbps)and a spectral efficiency of 156.8(130.7)bit s−1 Hz−1.Remarkably for such a high channel count,the system only uses fixed-size 4×4 MIMO DSP modules with no more than 25 time-domain taps.Such ultra-low MIMO complexity is enabled by the simultaneous weak coupling among fibre cores and amongst non-degenerate OAM mode groups within each core that have a fixed number of 4 modes.These results take the capacity of OAM-based fibre-optic communications links over the 1 Pbps milestone for the first time.They also simultaneously represent the lowest MIMO complexity and the 2nd smallest fibre cladding diameter amongst reported few-mode multicore-fibre(FM-MCF)SDM systems of>1 Pbps capacity.We believe these results represent a major step forward in SDM transmission,as they manifest the significant potentials for further up-scaling the capacity per optical fibre whilst keeping MIMO processing to an ultra-low complexity level and in a modularly expandable fashion. | Junyi Liu Jingxing Zhang Jie Liu Zhenrui Lin Zhenhua Li Zhongzheng Lin Junwei Zhang Cong Huang Shuqi Mo Lei Shen Shuqing Lin Yujie Chen Ran Gao Lei Zhang Xiaobo Lan Xinlun Cai Zhaohui Li Siyuan Yu | 2022 | Light(Science & Applications)2022,11,8: | 1 |

| 5 | Lattice-distorted Pt wrinkled nanoparticles for highly effective hydrogen electrocatalysis显示文摘Modulating Pt surfaces through the introduction of lattice distortion emerges as immensely effective strategy that enhances the kinetics of alkaline hydrogen evolution and oxidation processes.In this study,we fabricated lattice-distorted Pt wrinkled nanoparticles(LD-Pt WNPs)for efficient hydrogen electrocatalysis.The LD-Pt WNPs not only outperform the Pt/C benchmark in hydrogen oxidation reaction,achieving an excellent mass-specific current of 968.5 mA·mg_(Pt)^(-1)(9 times that of Pt/C),but also demonstrate outstanding hydrogen evolution reaction activity with a small overpotential of 58.0 mV.Comprehensive experiments and density functional theory calculations reveal that lattice defects introduce an abundance of unsaturated coordination atoms while modifying the d-band center of Pt.This dual effect optimizes the binding strength of crucial H and OH intermediates,leading to a significant reduction in the energy barrier of the reaction bottleneck,commonly known as the Volmer step.This work unveils a fresh viewpoint on projecting and developing high efficiency electrocatalysts through defect engineering. | Xue Li Xiang Han Zhenrui Yang Shun Wang Yun Yang Juan Wang Jiadong Chen Zhongwei Chen Huile Jin | 2024 | Nano Research2024,17,5: | 0 |
| 6 | A New Species of Rhodoleia(Hamamelidaceae) from the Upper Pliocene of West Yunnan, China and Comments on Phytogeography and Insect Herbivory显示文摘In Europe, fossil fruits and seeds of Rhodoleia(Hamamelidaceae) have been described from the Upper Cretaceous to the Miocene, whereas no fossil record of Rhodoleia has been reported in Asia, where the modern species occur.Herein, 21 fossil leaves identified as Rhodoleia tengchongensis sp.nov.are described from the Upper Pliocene of Tengchong County, Yunnan Province, Southwest China.The fossils exhibit elliptic lamina with entire margins, simple brochidodromous major secondary veins, mixed percurrent intercostal tertiary veins, and looped exterior tertiaries.The leaf cuticle is characterized by pentagonal or hexagonal cells, stellate multicellular trichomes, and paracytic stomata.The combination of leaf architecture and cuticular characteristics suggests that the fossil leaves should be classified into the genus Rhodoleia.The fossil distributions indicate that the genus Rhodoleia might originate from Central Europe, and that migrated to Asia prior to the Late Pliocene.Additionally, insect damage is investigated, and different types of damage, such as hole feeding, margin feeding, surface feeding, and galling, are observed on the thirteen fossil leaves.Based on the damage frequencies for the fossil and extant leaves, the specific feeding behavior of insects on Rhodoleia trees appears to have been established as early as the Late Pliocene.The high occurrence of Rhodoleia insect herbivory may attract the insect-foraging birds, thereby increasing the probability of pollination. | WU Jingyu ZHAO Zhenrui LI Qijia LIU Yusheng(Christopher) XIE Sanping DING Suting SUN Bainian | 2015 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2015,89,5: | 0 |

| 8 | Biochar and soil properties limit the phytoavailability of lead and cadmium by Brassica chinensis L.in contaminated soils显示文摘The current study investigated the effect of biochars derived from cinnamomum woodchip,garden waste and mulberry woodchip on soil phytoavailable lead(Pb),cadmium(Cd)pools,and their uptake by Chinese cabbage(Brassica chinensis L.).The biochars were produced at 450℃of pyrolysis temperature.The contaminated soils were collected from Yunfu(clas-sified as Udept),Jiyuan(Ustalf)and Shaoguan(Udult)cities in China at the depth of 0-20 cm and amended with biochars at the rate of 3%w/w.After mixing the soil with biochar for 14 days,the Chinese cabbage was planted in the amended soils.Then,it was harvested on the 48th day after sowing period.In Udult soil,Chinese cabbage died 18 days after sowing period in control and soils amended with cinnamomum and mulberry biochars.Although only plants grown with the garden waste biochar treatment survived in Udult soil,amendment of garden waste or mulberry biochars at 3%w/w(450℃)to Udult soil significantly increased(4.95-6.25)soil pH compared to other biochar treatments.In Udept and Ustalf soils,the application of garden waste and mulberry biochars significantly improved plant biomass compared to control,albeit it was dependent on both biochar and soil properties.Garden waste biochar significantly decreased soil Cd phytoavailable concentration by 26%in the Udult soil,while a decrease of soil Cd phytoavailable concentration by 16%and 9%was observed in Ustalf and Udept soils,respectively.The available phosphorus in biochar and soil pH were important factors controlling toxic metal phytouptake by the plant.Thus,the amendment of soil with biochar at 3%can effectively reduce the mobility of Cd and Pb in soil and plant uptake.However,biochar and soil properties should be well-known before being used for soil toxic metal immobilization. | Assa Albert Houssou Paramsothy Jeyakumar Nabeel Khan Niazi Lukas Van Zwieten Xiang Li Lianxi Huang Lan Wei Xiaodong Zheng Qing Huang Yufen Huang Xianzhi Huang Hailong Wang Zhongzhen Liu Zhenrui Huang | 2022 | Biochar2022,4,1: | 0 |
| 9 | Herb-drug interaction in the protective effect of Alpinia officinarum against gastric injury induced by indomethacin based on pharmacokinetic, tissue distribution and excretion studies in rats显示文摘Alpinia officinarum Hance of the Chinese traditional herb for the treatment of emesis, abdominal pain and diarrhea has been used to counteract gastric disease induced by indomethacin in rats without obvious side effects. However, the role of herb-drug interaction between indomethacin and A. officinarum based on pharmacokinetic, tissue distribution and excretion still remains unknown. In this study, an ultra-fast liquid-tandem mass spectrometry(UFLC-MS/MS) method was developed for simultaneous determination of indomethacin and its three metabolites, O-desmethylindomethacin(ODI), deschlorobenzoylindomethacin(NDI) and indomethacin acyl-b-D-glucuronide(IDAbG) by oral administration of indomethacin solution with and without the ethanolic extract of A. officinarum and applied to comparative pharmacokinetic, tissue distribution and excretion studies. Our results clarified that oral administration of A. officinarum produced significant alterations in the pharmacokinetic parameters of indomethacin. And the pharmacokinetic interaction between indomethacin and A. officinarum reduced the systemic exposure of indomethacin and increased its elimination. Tissue distribution results demonstrated that co-administration of A. Officinarum could not reduce the accumulation of indomethacin in the target tissue of the stomach, but could accelerate the excretions of indomethacin and its three metabolites including ODI, NDI and IDAb G in the bile and feces of rats in the excretion study.Therefore, A.
