| 2 | Field test of HTS receivers on CDMA demonstration cluster in China显示文摘This paper presents the field test of our first demonstration cluster with five base stations (BTS) on code division multiple access (CDMA) wireless communication in China, while each BTS was installed with a high temperature superconductor (HTS) receiver. The HTS receivers have the same centre frequency of 830 MHz, a bandwidth of 13 MHz, and a noise figure (NF) of 0.9 dB. After the conventional receivers in the BTSs were replaced by the HTS receivers, a consequent drive test was carried out. | 3 | Field trial of an HTS filter system on a CDMA base station显示文摘This paper presents the field trial results of a high temperature superconductor filter system (HTSFS) in a code division multiple access (CDMA) mobile communication base station (BTS) in Tangshan, China. The center frequency of the HTSFS is 830 MHz with 1.4% fractional bandwidth. The noise figure (NF) of the HTSFS, including connectors and cables, is 0.8 dB. The field trial results show that after the HTSFS was installed in the receiver front-end of a CDMA base station, the transmitting power of handset was decreased by 3.1 dB on average. | 4 | Naquite, FeSi, a New Mineral Species from Luobusha, Tibet, Western China显示文摘A new mineral species, named naquite(FeSi), is found in the podiform chromitites of the Luobusha ophiolite in Qusong County, Tibet, China. The detailed composition is Fe 65.65, Si 32.57 and Al 1.78 wt%. The mineral is cubic, space group P213. The irregular crystals range from 15 to 50 μm in diameter and form an intergrowth with luobusaite. Naquite is steel grey in color, opaque, with a metallic lustre and gives a grayish-black streak. The mineral is brittle, has a conchoidal fracture and no apparent cleavage. The estimated Mohs hardness is 6.5, and the calculated density is 6.128 g/cm3. Unit-cell parameters are a 4.486 (4) , V 90.28 (6)3, Z=4. The five strongest powder diffraction lines [d in(hkl) (I/I0)] are: 3.1742 (110) (40), 2.5917(111) (43), 2.0076 (210) (100), 1.8307 (211) (65), and 1.1990 (321) (36). | 6 | The effect of anodizing temperature on the structure and electrical properties of Al-Ti composite oxide film显示文摘The Al-Ti composite oxide films with high dielectric constant were prepared by hydrolysis precipitation and anodizing. The growth, structure and electrical properties of the Al-Ti composite oxide films formed at different anodizing temperatures from 25℃ to 85℃ have been studied by dissolution of anodic oxide films, Auger electron spectroscopy (AES), and electrical measurements. With the anodizing temperature increasing, the film growth rate increases, the structure of two layers in the Al-Ti composite oxide film converts into three layers, I-V characteristics change evidently, and the specific capacitance achieves a peak value at about 75℃. Mg-fillowite occurs in muscovite-pegmatite in the Altay area, Xinjiang, China. It is of the trigonal lattice, with space group R-3, unit cell a=1.5143(3) nm, c=4.3191(2) nm, V=8.5736 nm3, Z = 18. The R-factor of the determination accuracy is R (I > 2σ ( I )) = 0.0776. The cationic polyhedra consist of two kinds of structural units: compound col- umn and screw column. In three-dimensional space, they are linked with each other through corner sharing or edge sharing to build the entire structure. There are 45 atoms in an asymmetric unit and 720 atoms in a unit cell. In terms of types and connection manners of the coordination polyhedra, the degree of complicity is rarely seen in all mineral crystal structures. | 12 | GLUL stabilizes N-Cadherin by antagonizing β-Catenin to inhibit the progresses of gastric cancer显示文摘Glutamate-ammonia ligase(GLUL, also known as glutamine synthetase) is a crucial enzyme that catalyzes ammonium and glutamate into glutamine in the ATP-dependent condensation. Although GLUL plays a critical role in multiple cancers, the expression and function of GLUL in gastric cancer remain unclear. In the present study, we have found that the expression level of GLUL was significantly lower in gastric cancer tissues compared with adjacent normal tissues, and correlated with N stage and TNM stage, and low GLUL expression predicted poor survival for gastric cancer patients. Knockdown of GLUL promoted the growth, migration, invasion and metastasis of gastric cancer cells in vitro and in vivo, and vice versa, which was independent of its enzyme activity. Mechanistically, GLUL competed with β-Catenin to bind to N-Cadherin, increased the stability of N-Cadherin and decreased the stability of β-Catenin by alerting their ubiquitination. Furthermore, there were lower N-Cadherin and higher β-Catenin expression levels in gastric cancer tissues compared with adjacent normal tissues. GLUL protein expression was correlated with that of N-Cadherin, and could be the independent prognostic factor in gastric cancer. | 14 | A Study of Molecular Resection Margins for Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma Using Large Pathologic Sections显示文摘OBJECTIVE It has been shown that application of molecular biological techniques to surgical margins of some cancers could predict risk of local recurrence. However, the optimal length of surgical resection with tumor-free surgical margins for esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ES-CC) is unknown. This study was conducted to evaluate the optimal length of surgical resection for ESCC with molecularly tumor-free surgical margins marked by p53 and Ki67. METHODS Surgical specimens from 70 patients with ESCC were collected for study. The lengths of the upper margin, tumor, and lower margin of every specimen were measured during the operation. Each specimen was divided into three large pathologic sections, stained with H&E and immunohistochemically for p53 and Ki67, and examined microscopically. The lengths of the upper and lower resection ends were measured for p53 and Ki67 positive expression. The actual surgical lengths were calculated by the principle of rational shrinkage. RESULTS All surgical margins were histologically tumor-free, while the positive rates of p53 and Ki67 were 66% and 54%. The positive rates of p53 and Ki67 in the upper resection end were 17% and 20%. The mean lengths of the upper resection end showing p53 and Ki67 positive expression were 1.08±1.12 cm and 1.64±1.01 cm, and the maximum lengths were 3.73 cm and 3.26 cm. The positive rates of p53 and Ki67 in the lower resection end were 20% and 23%. The mean lengths of the lower resection end of p53 and Ki67 with positive expression were 1.11±1.15 cm and 1.34±0.94 cm, and the maximum lengths were 3.73 cm and 3.61 cm.
