1Microstructural characterization of titanium matrix composite coatings reinforced by in situ synthesized TiB + TiC fabricated on Ti6Al4V by laser cladding显示文摘Titanium-based composite coatings reinforced by in situ synthesized TiB and TiC particles between titanium and B4C were successfully fabricated on Ti6Al4V by laser cladding.Phase constituents of the coatings were predicted by thermodynamic calculations in the Ti-B4C-Al and Ti-B-C-Al systems,respectively,and were validated well by X-ray diffraction(XRD) analysis results.Microstructural and metallographic analyses were made by scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and electron probe micro-analysis(EPMA).The results show that the coatings are mainly composed of α-Ti cellular dendrites and the eutecticum in which a large number of needle-shaped TiB and a few equiaxial TiC particles are embedded.C is enriched in α-Ti cellular dendrites and far exceeds the theoretical maximum dissolubility,owing to the extension of saturation during laser cladding.The coatings have a good metallurgical bond with the substrate due to the existence of the dilution zone,in which a great amount of lamella β-Ti grains consisting of a thin needle-shaped martensitic microstructure are present and grow parallel to the heat flux direction;a few TiB and TiC reinforcements are observed at the boundaries of initial β-Ti grains.LI Jun YU Zhishui WANG Huiping LI Manping 2010Rare Metals2010,29,5:16

7EBSD Characterization of the Laser Remelted Surface Layers in a Commercially Pure Mg显示文摘Laser surface melting has been applied on a commercially pure Mg. The microstructure and texture modifications encountered in the surface layers were carefully investigated by using electron backscattered diffraction(EBSD)technique. Due to the melting followed by rapid solidification and cooling, a layer having graded microstructures and texture formed. At the bottom of the melted layer, the solidified Mg grains have an elongated shape with a<0001> basal fibre texture nearly parallel to sample normal direction, while equiaxed grains were observed in the top melted layer having a much weaker basal fibre texture. Solidification twinning and deformation twinning were found in the vicinity of the melt/substrate interface where the Mg grains grow larger due to the heating. 17Identification of genes induced during Medicago sativa nodule development by using the cDNA-AFLP technique显示文摘A variety of genes involved in nodule development and function were induced during sym biotic root nodule development in alfalfa. We identi fied those genes by comparing the cDNA-amplified fragment length polymorphism (cDNA-AFLP) pat terns of infected nodules and uninfected roots. Sev enty-one transcript-derived fragments (TDFs) were isolated from about 3000 TDFs, which are enhanced or specifically expressed in nodule. The differentia expression patterns of 61 genes were confirmed b reverse Northern hybridization or Northern hybridiza tion analyses. Among these, 31 exhibited significan similarities to characterized database entries. These results suggest that the genes corresponding to the 31 TDFs may play important roles in signal transduc tion, gene expression and regulation, substance transportation or auto-regulation of nodulation during nodule development. 18Correlation between brazed joint elevated strength,microstructure and brazing processing parameter of Inconel superalloy显示文摘This study investigates the influences of brazing temperature,brazing time and brazing clearance on microstructures and high temperature strength of Inconel superalloy.Bonding is performed in a high vacuum furnace using BNi-2 as filler metal.Brazing temperatures employed in this study are 1080 ℃,1110 ℃ and 1140 ℃.Holding times at the brazing temperature are 5 min,15 min and 45 min.At the same time,the investigated brazing clearances are 30 μm,60 μm and 100 μm.Microstructure of the brazed joints is analyzed by means of metallography,scanning electron microscope (SEM).The high temperature tensile strength and microhardness are evaluated at different brazing parameters.The results show that fracture occurs wholly within the braze metal.Deformation appears to be confined to the braze metal with the base metal,showing very little plastic deformation.Brazing time shows to play the important role in the brazing parameters.The peak of microhardness is at the centerline of braze region.Induction heating has little effect on the base materials.Chunwei MA Kun SHI Zhishui YU Peiquan XU 2011Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2011,24,3:0
