Optimization and control of a reactive distillation process for the synthesis of dimethyl carbonate显示文摘Dimethyl carbonate is an environmentally benign and biodegradable chemical.Based on integration of reactive distillation and pressure-swing distillation technologies,a novel process for synthesis of dimethyl carbonate through transesterification with propylene carbonate and methanol has been developed by Huang et al.In this work, the optimization of this process was performed by minimizing the total TAC.The results show that the optimal design flowsheet can save energy consumption by 18.6% with the propylene carbonate conversion of 99.9%.Then,an effective plant-wide control structure for the process was developed.Dynamic simulation results demonstrate that the temperature/flow rate cascade control plus with simple temperature control can keep not only product purity but also the conversion of the reactant at their desired values in the face of the disturbance in reactant feed flow rate and feed composition. | Zhixian Huang Yixiong Lin Xiaoda Wang Changshen Ye Ling Li | 2017 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2017,25,8: | 8
Preparation and shaping of solid acid SO_4^(2-)/TiO_2 and its application for esterification of propylene glycol monomethyl ether and acetic acid显示文摘The solid acid SO_4^(2-)/TiO_2 was prepared by immersion method and applied for synthesis of propylene glycol methyl ether acetate(PMA) through esterification reaction of propylene glycol monomethyl ether(PM)and acetic acid(HAc). The optimal catalyst preparation condition was determined by orthogonal analysis of parameters in a five-factor and four-level test. The obtained solid acid catalysts were characterized in detail by means of X-ray powder diffraction, thermogravimetry, pyridine adsorbed IR analysis, scanning electron microscopy, and BET surface area method. Synthesis of PMA was studied in this paper through experimental investigation of reaction conditions such as temperature, molar ratio of reactants, catalyst dosage and agitation speed. Based on its possible reaction mechanism, a pseudo-homogeneous kinetic model was established and its activation energies E_a^+ and E_a^-,65.68 × 10~3J·mol^(-1) and 57.78 × 10~3J·mol^(-1), were estimated. To prepare shaped solid acid catalyst SO_4^(2-)/TiO_2, the shaping method of impregnation–shaping–impregnation was applied. The optimal molding formulation of solid acid catalyst, obtained from the orthogonal test, was found to be binder 7 wt%, reinforcing agent 20 wt%, pore forming material 2.5 wt%, and lubricant 4 wt%.The results of performance test of catalyst demonstrated that the shaped solid acid catalyst exhibited high activity and stability. | Zhixian Huang Yixiong Lin Ling Li Changshen Ye Ting Qiu | 2017 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2017,25,9: | 8
Autophagy and cancer treatment: four functional forms of autophagy and their therapeutic applications显示文摘Cancer is the leading cause of death worldwide. Drugs play a pivotal role in cancer treatment, but the complex biological processes of cancer cells seriously limit the efficacy of various anticancer drugs. Autophagy, a self-degradative system that maintains cellular homeostasis, universally operates under normal and stress conditions in cancer cells. The roles of autophagy in cancer treatment are still controversial because both stimulation and inhibition of autophagy have been reported to enhance the effects of anticancer drugs. Thus, the important question arises as to whether we should try to strengthen or suppress autophagy during cancer therapy. Currently, autophagy can be divided into four main forms according to its different functions during cancer treatment: cytoprotective(cell survival), cytotoxic(cell death), cytostatic(growth arrest), and nonprotective(no contribution to cell death or survival). In addition, various cell death modes, such as apoptosis, necrosis, ferroptosis, senescence, and mitotic catastrophe, all contribute to the anticancer effects of drugs. The interaction between autophagy and these cell death modes is complex and can lead to anticancer drugs having different or even completely opposite effects on treatment. Therefore, it is important to understand the underlying contexts in which autophagy inhibition or activation will be beneficial or detrimental. That is, appropriate therapeutic strategies should be adopted in light of the different functions of autophagy. This review provides an overview of recent insights into the evolving relationship between autophagy and cancer treatment. | Zhaoshi BAI Yaling PENG Xinyue YE Zhixian LIU Yupeng LI Lingman MA | 2022 | Journal of Zhejiang University-Science B(Biomedicine & Biotechnology)2022,23,2: | 5
Two-dimensional coupled mathematical modeling of fluvial processes with intense sediment transport and rapid bed evolution显示文摘Alluvial rivers may experience intense sediment transport and rapid bed evolution under a high flow regime, for which traditional decoupled mathematical river mod-els based on simplified conservation equations are not applicable. A two-dimen-sional coupled mathematical model is presented, which is generally applicable to the fluvial processes with either intense or weak sediment transport. The governing equations of the model comprise the complete shallow water hydrodynamic equa-tions closed with Manning roughness for boundary resistance and empirical rela-tionships for sediment exchange with the erodible bed. The second-order Total-Variation-Diminishing version of the Weighted-Average-Flux method, along with the HLLC approximate Riemann Solver,is adapted to solve the governing equations, which can properly resolve shock waves and contact discontinuities. The model is applied to the pilot study of the flooding due to a sudden outburst of a real glacial-lake. | YUE ZhiYuan CAO ZhiXian LI Xin CHE Tao | 2008 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2008,51,9: | 4
Influence of Metallic Modification on Ethylbenzene Dealkylation over ZSM-5 Zeolites显示文摘A series of metal-modified HZSM-5 catalysts were prepared by impregnation and were used for ethylbenzene dealkylation of the mixed C8 aromatics(ethylbenzene,m-xylene and o-xylene).The effects of different supported metals(Pt,Pd,Ni,Mo)on catalytic performance, including reaction conditions, were investigated. The physicochemical properties of catalysts were characterized by means of XRD,BET,TEM and NH_(3)-TPD.Experimental results showed that metallic modification obviously increased the ethylbenzene conversion and reduced the coke deposition, greatly improving the catalyst stability. The distinction of ethylbenzene conversion depended on the interaction between hydrogenation reactivity and acidic cracking of bifunctional metal-modified zeolites.Compared with Pt and Ni,Pd and Mo were easier to disperse into HZSM-5 micropores during loading metals. The acidic density of different metal-modified HZSM-5 declined in the following order:HZSM-5>Pt/HZSM-5>Pd/HZSM-5>Ni/HZSM-5>Mo/HZSM-5.The activity of ethylene hydrogenation decreased with Pt/HZSM-5>Pd/HZSM-5>Ni/HZSM-5>Mo/HZSM-5.In comparison,Pd/HZSM-5 showed the best catalytic performance with both high activity and high selectivity, with less cracking loss of m-xylene and o-xylene.Moreover,the following reaction conditions were found to be preferable for ethylbenzene dealkylation over Pd/HZSM-5:340℃,1.5 MPa H2,WHSV 4 h^(−1),H_(2)/C84 mol/mol. | Chao Hu Junhui Li Wenzhi Jia Min Liu Zhixian Hao Zhirong Zhu | 2015 | Chinese Journal of Chemistry2015,33,2: | 3
Aberrant cholesterol metabolic signaling impairs antitumor immunosurveillance through natural killer T cell dysfunction in obese liver显示文摘Obesity is a major risk factor for cancers including hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)that develops from a background of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD).Hypercholesterolemia is a common comorbidity of obesity.Although cholesterol biosynthesis mainly occurs in the liver, its role in HCC development of obese people remains obscure.Using high-fat high-carbohydrate diet-associated orthotopic and spontaneous NAFLD-HCC mouse models,we found that hepatic cholesterol accumulation in obesity selectively suppressed natural killer T(NKT)cell-mediated antitumor immunosurveillance.Transcriptome analysis of human liver revealed aberrant cholesterol metabolism and NKT cell dysfunction in NAFLD patients.Notably,cholesterol-lowering rosuvastatin restored NKT expansion and cytotoxicity to prevent obesogenic diet-promoted HCC development. Moreover, suppression of hepatic cholesterol biosynthesis by a mammalian target of rapamycin(mTOR)inhibitor vistusertib preceded tumor regression, which was abolished by NKT inactivation but not CD8^(+)T cell depletion.Mechanistically, sterol regulatory element-binding protein 2(SREBP2)-driven excessive cholesterol production from hepatocytes induced lipid peroxide accumulation and deficient cytotoxicity in NKT cells, which were supported by findings in people with obesity,NAFLD and NAFLD-HCC.This study highlights mTORC1/SREBP2/cholesterol-mediated NKT dysfunction in the tumor-promoting NAFLD liver microenvironment, providing intervention strategies that invigorating NKT cells to control HCC in the obesity epidemic. | Wenshu Tang Jingying Zhou Weiqin Yang Yu Feng Haoran Wu Myth T.S.Mok Lingyun Zhang Zhixian Liang Xiaoyu Liu Zhewen Xiong Xuezhen Zeng Jing Wang Jiahuan Lu Jingqing Li Hanyong Sun Xiaoyu Tian Philip Chun Yeung Yong Hou Heung Man Lee Candice C.H.Lam Howard H.W.Leung Anthony W.H.Chan Ka Fai To John Wong Paul B.S.Lai Kelvin K.C.Ng Simon K.H.Wong Vincent W.S.Wong Alice P.S.Kong Joseph J.Y.Sung Alfred S.L.Cheng | 2022 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2022,19,7: | 3

An InSAR scattering model for multi-layer snow based on QuasiCrystalline Approximation(QCA) theory显示文摘Snow-cover parameters are important indicator factors for hydrological models and climate change studies and have typical vertical stratification characteristics. Remote sensing can be used for large-scale monitoring of snow parameters. In SAR(Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar) technology has advantages in detecting the vertical structure of snow cover. As a basis of snow vertical structure detection using In SAR, a scattering model can reveal the physical process of interaction between electromagnetic waves and snow. In recent years, the In SAR scattering model for single-layer snow has been fully studied;however, it cannot be applied to the case of multi-layer snow. To solve this problem, a multi-layer snow scattering mode is proposed in this paper, which applies the QCA(Quad-Crystal Approximation) theory to describe the coherent scattering characteristics of snow and introduces a stratification factor to describe the influence of snow stratification on the crosscorrelation of SAR echoes. Based on the proposed model, we simulate an In SAR volumetric correlation of different types of multi-layer snow at the X band(9.6 GHz). The results show that this model is suitable for multi-layer snow, and the sequence of sub-layers of snow has a significant influence on the volumetric correlation. Compared to the single layer model, the multi-layer model can predict a polarization difference in the volumetric correlation more accurately and thus has a wider scope of application. To make the model more available for snow parameter inversion, a simplified multi-layer model was also developed. The model did not have polarization information compared to that of the full model but showed good consistency with the full model. The phase of the co-polarization In SAR volumetric correlation difference is more sensitive to snow parameters than that of the phase difference of the co-polarization In SAR volumetric correlation and more conducive to the development of a parameter-inversion algorithm. The model can be applied to deepen our understanding of In SAR scattering mechanisms and to develop a snow parameter inversion algorithm. | Zhen LI Zhixian LI Bangsen TIAN Jianmin ZHOU | 2018 | Science China Earth Sciences2018,61,8: | 2
Graded and uniform bed load sediment transport in a degrading channel显示文摘Twenty runs of experiments are carried out to investigate non-equilibrium transport of graded and uniform bed load sediment in a degrading channel.Well-sorted gravel and sand are employed to compose four kinds of sediment beds with different gravel/sand contents,i.e.,uniform 100%gravel bed, uniform 100%sand bed,and two graded sediment beds respectively with 53%gravel and 47%sand as well as 22%gravel and 78%sand.For different sediment beds, the experiments are conducted under the same discharges, thereby allowing for the role of sediment composition in dictating the bed load transport rate to be identified.A new observed dataset is generated concerning the flow, sediment transport and evolution of bed elevation and composition, which can be exploited to underpin developments of mathematical river models. The data shows that in a degrading channel, the sand greatly promotes the transport of gravel, whilst the gravel considerably hinders the transport of sand. The promoting and hindering effects are evaluated by means of impact factors defined based on sediment transport rates. The impact factors are shown to vary with flow discharge by orders of magnitude, being most pronounced at the lowest discharge. It is characterized that variations in sand or gravel inputs as a result of human activities and climate change may lead to severe morphological changes in degrading channels. | Zhijing Li Zhixian Cao Huaihan Liu Gareth Pender | 2016 | International Journal of Sediment Research2016,31,4: | 2
Efficient production of pronuclear embryos in breeding and nonbreeding season for generating transgenic sheep overexpressing TLR4显示文摘Background: Brucella is a zoonotic Gram-negative pathogen that causes abortion and infertility in ruminants and humans. TLR4 is the receptor for LPS which can recognize Brucella and initiate antigen-presenting cell activities that affect both innate and adaptive immunity. Consequently, transgenic sheep over-expressing TLR4 are an suitable model to investigate the effects of TLR4 on preventing Brucellosis. In this study, we generated transgenic sheep overexpressing TLR4 and aimed to evaluate the effects of different seasons(breeding and non-breeding season) on superovulation and the imported exogenous gene on growth. Results: In total of 43 donor ewes and 166 recipient ewes in breeding season, 37 donor ewes and 144 recipient ewes in non-breeding season were selected for super-ovulation and injected embryo transfer to generate transgenic sheep. Our results indicated the no. of embryos recovered of donors and the rate of pronuclear embryos did not show any significant difference between breeding and non-breeding seasons(P > 0.05). The positive rate of exogenous TLR4 tested were 21.21 % and 22.58 % in breeding and non-breeding season by Southern blot. The expression level of TLR4 in the transgenic sheep was 1.5 times higher than in the non-transgenic group(P < 0.05). The lambs overexpressing TLR4 had similar growth performance with non-transgenic lambs, and the blood physiological parameters of transgenic and non-transgenic were both in the normal range and did not show any difference. Conclusions: Here we establish an efficient platform for the production of transgenic sheep by the microinjection of pronuclear embryos during the whole year. The over-expression of TLR4 had no adverse effect on the growth of the sheep. | Yan Li Di Lian Shoulong Deng Xiaosheng Zhang Jinlong Zhang Wenting Li Hai Bai Zhixian Wang Hongping Wu Juncai Fu Hongbing Han Jianzhong Feng Guoshi Liu Ling Lian Zhengxing Lian | 2017 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2017,8,1: | 2

Risk factors for pulmonary hemorrhage following ultrasound-guided percutaneous biopsy of peripheral lung lesions显示文摘Lung cancer is a leading cause of cancer-associated death worldwide, and the morbidity and mortality of lung cancer have increased over the past few decades.Imaging techniques are limited in providing a definitive diagnosis, which requires a tissue sample for pathologic evaluation.Adenocarcinomas account for 40%of all lung cancers and tend to occur peripherally in the lung,[1]making them amenable to ultrasound-guided percutaneous biopsy for pathologic diagnosis.Peripheral lung cancers are usually close to the pleura, enabling ultrasound to clearly show the internal structure of the lesion, its blood supply, and its relationship with surrounding tissues.Although ultrasound-guided transthoracic cutting needle biopsy is considered a safe and efficient method for obtaining a definitive pathologic diagnosis, the technique is associated with several complications, including air embolism, pneumothorax, pulmonary hemorrhage, and tumor seeding.[1]Severe hemoptysis can necessitate endobronchial tamponade, arterial embolization,or surgery and can be life-threatening.[2]Data regarding the risk factors for pulmonary hemorrhage after ultrasound-guided percutaneous lung biopsy are scarce. | Qing Li Zhixian Li Xinhong Liao Li Zhang Lei Wang Shi Tang Xiyue Yang Jihan Wang | 2022 | Chinese Medical Journal2022,,1: | 1

Numerical simulation of oil shale in-situ mining using fluid-thermo-solid coupling显示文摘For the in-situ gas-injection mining technology of oil shale by process,a numerical simulation method with flow-thermo-solid coupling is proposed in this paper. This method adopts separate simulations and step-by-step coupling simulation ideas combined with the advantages of the finite element method and the finite volume method. The numerical simulation of flow-thermo-solid coupling is decomposed into two parts:flow-solid coupling and thermo-solid coupling.Considering the Fuyu oil shale in-situ production test area in Songliao Basin as an example,it is concluded that the oil shale has undergone four heating stages:a rapid temperature rise,a steady temperature rise,a slow temperature rise, and heat preservation. It takes about 10 years for the stress-strain state of the oil shale layer to reach a steady-state through the thermo-solid coupling. The main strain zones of the oil shale layer are distributed near the fracturing fractures connected to the gas injection well and at the edge of the fracturing fractures. The areas with the plastic deformation in the oil shale layer predominantly appear near the gas injection wells, production wells, and fracturing channels. The areas with the largest fracture strength are mostly distributed near the edge of the fracturing fractures with low flow velocity and low temperature. | ZHANG Tiantong LIU Zeyu XIE Zhixian LI Yubo XUE Linfu | 2020 | Global Geology2020,23,4: | 1
Enhanced bed load sediment transport by unsteady flows in a degrading channel显示文摘Laboratory flume experiments were done to investigate bed load sediment transport by both steady and unsteady flows in a degrading channel. The bed, respectively composed of uniform sand, uniform gravel,or sand-gravel mixtures, always undergoes bulk degradation. It is found that both uniform and nonuniform bed load transport is enhanced greatly by unsteady flows as compared to their volumeequivalent steady flows. This enhancement effect is evaluated by means of an enhancement factor, which is shown to be larger with a coarser bed and lower discharges. Also, the fractional transport rates of gravel and sand in non-uniform sand-gravel mixtures are compared with their uniform counterparts under both steady and unsteady flows. The sand is found to be able to greatly promote the transport of gravel, whilst the gravel considerably hinders the transport of sand. Particularly, the promoting and hindering impacts are more pronounced at lower discharges and tend to be weakened by flow unsteadiness. | Zhijing Li Honglu Qian Zhixian Cao Huaihan Liu Gareth Pender Penghui Hu | 2018 | International Journal of Sediment Research2018,33,3: | 1
