| 1 | Arctic Sea Ice and Eurasian Climate:A Review显示文摘The Arctic plays a fundamental role in the climate system and has shown significant climate change in recent decades,including the Arctic warming and decline of Arctic sea-ice extent and thickness. In contrast to the Arctic warming and reduction of Arctic sea ice, Europe, East Asia and North America have experienced anomalously cold conditions, with record snowfall during recent years. In this paper, we review current understanding of the sea-ice impacts on the Eurasian climate.Paleo, observational and modelling studies are covered to summarize several major themes, including: the variability of Arctic sea ice and its controls; the likely causes and apparent impacts of the Arctic sea-ice decline during the satellite era,as well as past and projected future impacts and trends; the links and feedback mechanisms between the Arctic sea ice and the Arctic Oscillation/North Atlantic Oscillation, the recent Eurasian cooling, winter atmospheric circulation, summer precipitation in East Asia, spring snowfall over Eurasia, East Asian winter monsoon, and midlatitude extreme weather; and the remote climate response(e.g., atmospheric circulation, air temperature) to changes in Arctic sea ice. | 2 | Paleoclimate Modeling in China: A Review显示文摘This paper provides a review of paleoclimate modeling activities in China. Rather than attempt to cover all topics, we have chosen a few climatic intervals and events judged to be particularly informative to the international community. In historical climate simulations, changes in solar radiation and volcanic activity explain most parts of reconstructions over the last millennium prior to the industrial era, while atmospheric greenhouse gas concentrations play the most important role in the20 th century warming over China. There is a considerable model–data mismatch in the annual and boreal winter temperature change over China during the mid-Holocene [6000 years before present(ka BP)], while coupled models with an interactive ocean generally perform better than atmospheric models. For the Last Glacial Maximum(21 ka BP), climate models successfully reproduce the surface cooling trend over China but fail to reproduce its magnitude, with a better performance for coupled models. At that time, reconstructed vegetation and western Pacific sea surface temperatures could have significantly affected the East Asian climate, and environmental conditions on the Qinghai–Tibetan Plateau were most likely very different to the present day. During the late Marine Isotope Stage 3(30–40 ka BP), orbital forcing and Northern Hemisphere glaciation, as well as vegetation change in China, were likely responsible for East Asian climate change. | 3 | Late Paleozoic Fluid Systems and Their Ore-forming Effects in the Yuebei Basin,Northern Guangdong,China显示文摘Based on detailed and systematic researches of the geology of ore deposits, fluid inclusions and isotope geochemistry etc., and regarding the Late Paleozoic fluid system of the Yuebei Basin as an integrated object in this paper, we have revealed the temporo-spatial evolution law of the basin’s fluid system and discussed its ore-forming effects by simulating and analyzing the distribution of ore-forming elements, the fluid thermodynamics and dynamics of evolution processes of this basin. The results show that Late Paleozoic ore-forming fluid systems of the Yuebei Basin include four basic types as follows. (1) The sea floor volcanic-exhalation system developed during the rapid basin slip-extension stage in the Mid-Late Devonian, which affected the Dabaoshan region. It thus formed the Dabaoshan-type Cu-Pb-Zn-Fe sea floor volcanic-exhalation sedimentary deposits. (2) The compaction fluid system developed during the stable spreading and thermal subsidence-compression stage of the basin in the Mid-Late Devonian. The range of its effects extended all over the whole basin. It resulted in filling-metasomatic deposits, such as the Hongyan-type pyrite deposits and pyrite sheet within the Fankou-type Cu-Pb-Zn-S deposits. (3) The hot water circulation system of sea floor developed during the stage of basin uplifting and micro-aulacogen from the late Late Carboniferous to Middle Carboniferous. The range of its effects covered the Fankou region. It thus formed MVT deposits, such as the main orebody of the Fankou-type Pb-Zn-S deposits. (4) The gravity fluid system developed during the stage of fold uplifting and the basin closed from Middle Triassic to Jurassic, forming groundwater hydrothermal deposits, e.g. the veinlet Pb-Zn-calcite orebodies of the Fankou-type Pb-Zn-S deposits. Migration and concentration of the ore-forming fluids were constrained by the state of temporo-spatial distribution of its fluid potential. Growth faults not only converged the fluids and drove them to move upwards, but also the fluids often crossed the faults to the edges of the basin at the bottom of these faults and the lithologic interfaces, and even migrated to the basin’s edges from top to bottom along the faults, which may be one of the basic reasons for the stratabound deposits to cluster mainly along the contemporaneous faults on the inner border of the basin. | 4 | Greenland Ice Sheet Contribution to Future Global Sea Level Rise based on CMIP5 Models显示文摘Sea level rise(SLR) is one of the major socioeconomic risks associated with global warming. Mass losses from the Greenland ice sheet(GrIS) will be partially responsible for future SLR, although there are large uncertainties in modeled climate and ice sheet behavior. We used the ice sheet model SICOPOLIS(SImulation COde for POLythermal Ice Sheets) driven by climate projections from 20 models in the fifth phase of the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project(CMIP5) to estimate the GrIS contribution to global SLR. Based on the outputs of the 20 models, it is estimated that the GrIS will contribute 0–16(0–27) cm to global SLR by 2100 under the Representative Concentration Pathways(RCP) 4.5(RCP 8.5) scenarios. The projected SLR increases further to 7–22(7–33) cm with 2×basal sliding included. In response to the results of the multimodel ensemble mean, the ice sheet model projects a global SLR of 3 cm and 7 cm(10 cm and 13 cm with 2×basal sliding) under the RCP 4.5 and RCP 8.5 scenarios, respectively. | 5 | Key gene and protein changes in the beta-amyloid pathway following Longyanshen polysaccharides treatment in a mouse model of Alzheimer's disease显示文摘BACKGROUND:During onset and development of Alzheimer's disease,β-amyloid(Aβ) precursor protein(APP),β-site amyloid precursor protein cleaving enzyme(BACE),andβ-amyloid are key genes and proteins in the Aβpathway,and over-expression of these genes can lead to Aβdeposition in the brain. OBJECTIVE:To observe the influence of Longyanshen polysaccharides on expression of BACE, APP,and Aβin the senescence-accelerated mouse prone/8(SAMP8) brain,and to compare these effects with huperzine A treatment. DESIGN,TIME AND SETTING:A randomized,controlled,neurobiochemical experiment was performed at the Department of Pharmacology and Scientific Experimental Center of Guangxi Medical University from September 2005 to January 2008. MATERIALS:Longyanshen polysaccharides powder was extracted from the dried slices of the medicinal plant Longyanshen.The active component,Longyanshen polysaccharides,was provided by the Department of Pharmacology,Guangxi Medical University;huperzine A was purchased from Yuzhong Drug Manufactory,China. METHODS:Healthy SAMP8 mice were used to establish a model of Alzheimer's disease.A total of 50 SAMP8 mice were randomly assigned to 5 groups(n = 10):SAMP8,huperzine A,low-,middle-, and high-dose polysaccharides.In addition,10 senescence-accelerated mouse resistant 1(SAMR1) mice were selected as normal controls.SAMP8 and SAMR1 mice were administered 30 mL/kg normal saline;the huperzine A group was administered 0.02 mg/kg huperzine A;the low-,middle-, and high-dose polysaccharides groups were respectively administered 45,90,and 180 mg/kg Longyanshen polysaccharides.Each group was treated by intragastric administration,once per day, for 50 consecutive days. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:One hour after the final administration,immunohistochemical analysis was used to determine Aβexpression in the cortex and hippocampus of SAMP8 mice. Reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction was used to determine mRNA levels of BACE and APP in SAMP8 brain tissue. RESULTS:Compared with the SAMR1 group,Aβexpression in the cerebral cortex and hippocampus,as well as expression of BACE,APP mRNA in the brain was significantly increased in the SAMP8 group(P<0.05-0.01).Compared with the SAMP8 group,Aβexpression,as well as BACE and APP mRNA expression,were significantly decreased in the cerebral cortex and hippocampus of huperzine A and low-,middle-,and high-dose polysaccharides groups(P<0.05-0.01).In particular,the effect of high-dose polysaccharides was the most significant(P<0.05-0.01). | 7 | Simulation of Greenland ice sheet during the mid-Pliocene warm period显示文摘One of the key uncertainties in future sea-level projections is attributed to the Greenland ice sheet(GrIS).Studying the response of the GrIS to climate changes during the past warm periods is helpful for understanding future changes in the GrIS.In this study,using three global climate models(Community Atmosphere Model version3.1 and version 4.0 and Norwegian Earth System Model)and a three-dimensional ice sheet model,we investigate the climate and ice sheet changes over Greenland during the mid-Pliocene warm period(*3 Ma BP).The results show that the regionally averaged summer temperature over Greenland is 9.4–13.4°C higher during the mid-Pliocene period than during the pre-industrial era and the annual mean precipitation is 65.2–108.3 mm a-1greater.In response to this warm-wet climate,the GrIS shows a substantial decrease in size during the mid-Pliocene,with little ice existing along the eastern coast of Greenland.Compared to that simulated in the control run,the global sea level is approximately 7.8–8.1 m higher during the mid-Pliocene due to the decrease in the size of the GrIS.In addition,paleoclimate proxies also indicate that it is unlikely that a large-scale ice sheet exists over Greenland during the mid-Pliocene warm period. | Qing Yan Zhongshi Zhang Huijun Wang Ran Zhang | 2014 | Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,2: | 3 |
| 8 | Simulation of sea surface temperature changes in the Middle Pliocene warm period and comparison with reconstructions显示文摘The Middle Pliocene (ca 3.12–2.97 Ma) is a recent warm period in the Earth’s history. In many respects, the warmth of the Middle Pliocene is similar to the probable warm situation of the late 21st century predicted by climate models. Understanding the Middle Pliocene climate is important in predicting the future climate with global warming. Here, we used the latest reconstructions for the Middle Pliocene—Pliocene Research Interpretation and Synoptic Mapping (PRISM) version 3—to simulate the Middle Pliocene climate with a fully coupled model Fast Ocean Atmosphere Model. From comparison of the results of simulations with reconstructions, we considered two important scientific topics of Middle Pliocene climate modeling: extreme warming in the subpolar North Atlantic and a permanent El Ni?o in the tropical Pacific. Our simulations illustrate that the global annual mean sea surface temperature (SST) in the Middle Pliocene was about 2.3°C higher than that in the pre-industrial era. The warming was stronger at midand high latitudes than at low latitudes. The simulated SST changes agree with SST reconstructions in PRISM3 data, especially for the North Atlantic, North Pacific and west coast of South America. However, there were still discrepancies between the simulation of the SST and reconstructions for the subpolar North Atlantic and tropical Pacific. In the case of the Atlantic, the weakened meridional overturning circulation in the simulation did not support the reconstruction of the extremely warm condition in the subpolar North Atlantic. In the case of the tropical Pacific, the whole ocean warmed, especially the eastern tropical Pacific, which did not support the permanent El Ni?o suggested by the reconstruction. From evaluation of the modeling and reconstruction, we suggest that the above discrepancies were due to uncertainties in reconstructions, difficulties in paleoclimate modeling and deficiencies of climate models. | 9 | Tectonic evolvement of metamorphic complexes at Jilin paleocontinental margin during the transition from late Archaean to early Proterozoic显示文摘The kinematics and dynamical process of tectonic evolvement of metamorphic complexes at the interim from late Archaean to early Proterozoic is one of the key problems in geosciences. For the disputation on the genesis of metamorphic complexes at the margin of Jilin palaeocontinent, this paper takes the example of Banshigou region, Jilin Province to discuss the dynamical evolution of palaeocontinent during the transition from late Archaean to early Pro- terozoic (2600—2000 Ma). On the time sequence, from center to palaeocontinental margin, it shows a series of dynamical movements including underplating, horizontal movement, subduc- tion, intraplate extension and separation. And its corresponding sequence of kinematical modes is as follows: vertical movement, horizontal movement, extension and shearing in contact zone, uplift-sliding movement in paleocontinental margin and interformational sliding, resulting in such tectonite sequence, tectonic gneiss, gneissic complex, gneissic complex-mylonite, mylonite and fracture cleavage-mylonite, which consist of the main body of metamorphic complexes. Their palaeostresses are: < 20, 20.40, 21.72, 28.80 and 30.8-69.8 MPa respectively. The deforma- tional metamorphic temperature is between hornblende and low-grade greenschist facies. The general deformational characters of Jilin palaeocontinent reflect a complete dynamic system of crust evolution, which indicates that the formation of the metamorphic complexes and the tec- tonic evolution are altered from vertical movement to compression to extension. It also indicates a continuous tectonic transformation from deep to shallow, and from ductile to brittle. The trans- formation between different dynamic mechanisms not only forms tectonic rocks, but also benefits the linking up, exchange and enrichment with rock-forming minerals and ore-forming elements. | 10 | A Dynamic Distributed Spectrum Allocation Mechanism Based on Game Model in Fog Radio Access Networks显示文摘With the explosive growth of highspeed wireless data demand and the number of mobile devices, fog radio access networks(F-RAN) with multi-layer network structure becomes a hot topic in recent research. Meanwhile, due to the rapid growth of mobile communication traffic, high cost and the scarcity of wireless resources, it is especially important to develop an efficient radio resource management mechanism. In this paper, we focus on the shortcomings of resource waste, and we consider the actual situation of base station dynamic coverage and user requirements. We propose a spectrum pricing and allocation scheme based on Stackelberg game model under F-RAN framework, realizing the allocation of resource on demand. This scheme studies the double game between the users and the operators, as well as between the traditional operators and the virtual operators, maximizing the profits of the operators. At the same time, spectrum reuse technology is adopted to improve the utilization of network resource.
