1Concentration quenching in transparent glass ceramics containing Er^(3+):NaYF_4 nanocrystals显示文摘In this work, we have studied the concentration quenching in transparent glass ceramics containing Er3+:NaYF4 nanocrystals. For different concentrations, the emission spectra and decay curves of the 4I13/2→4I15/2 emission were measured. The Er-concentration dependence of integrated intensity and lifetime of 4I13/2→4I15/2 emission are showed. With the increase of the Er3+ doping concentration, the 1.5 m fluorescence emission first increases, then decreases, and the lifetime falls gradually. With 980 nm excitation, the efficiency of the energy transfer from Er3+ to quenching centers reaches 73.73% for the sample with 4 mol% Er3+. Meanwhile, owing to the relation of fluorescence integrated intensity and Er-concentration, a dipole-dipole quenching mechanism in the framework of a limited diffusion regime has been proved. Using the limited diffusion case, the critical concentration for quenching has been determined from a fitting equation of the lifetime and Er-concentration. 7Investigation on occupant presence and appliance operation schedules for university campus in south China sub-tropical area显示文摘Building occupant presence during varying periods is crucial to the performance studies of buildings and city regions.However,the understanding of the building occupancies on the university campus remains limited.To address this gap,our study employs field measurements,payment records,course arrangements,and building access systems to depict the occupancy patterns of the canteen,dormitory,library,and teaching and lab buildings during weekdays and weekends.We found that the occupancy rates across different buildings are somehow interrelated,given that the total number of occupants on campus is generally constant.Notably,dormitory occupancy rates tend to be low during the morning and afternoon course hours,which inversely correlates with the high occupancy rates in the teaching and lab buildings during these periods.Similarly,canteens experience surges in occupancy during meal times,which coincide with a decrease in library usage.Moreover,we established appliance operation schedules for dormitories through surveys and on-site investigations.Water dispensers and electronic devices were identified as the primary energy consumers for both male and female occupants,with desk-top fans and hairdryers being significant energy users for male and female occupants,respectively.These findings are essential for energy studies within a campus setting,underlining the importance of considering occupant behaviors on a regional scale.Siwei Lou Zhongyuan Lin Yukai Zou Dawei Xia Yu Huang Zhuohong Li Zhaowen Gu 2024Building Simulation2024,17,2:0
8Improving hard metal implant and soft tissue integration by modulating the“inflammatory-fibrous complex”response显示文摘Soft tissue integration is one major difficulty in the wide applications of metal materials in soft tissue-related areas.The inevitable inflammatory response and subsequent fibrous reaction toward the metal implant is one key response for metal implant-soft tissue integration.It is of great importance to modulate this inflammatory-fibrous response,which is mainly mediated by the multidirectional interaction between fibroblasts and macrophages.In this study,macrophages are induced to generate M1 and M2 macrophage immune microenvironments.Their cytokine profiles have been proven to have potentially multi-regulatory effects on fibroblasts.The multi-reparative effects of soft tissue cells(human gingival fibroblasts)cultured on metal material(titanium alloy disks)in M1 and M2 immune microenvironments are then dissected.Fibroblasts in the M1 immune microenvironment tend to aggravate the inflammatory response in a pro-inflammatory positive feedback loop,while M2 immune microenvironment enhances multiple functions of fibroblasts in soft tissue integration,including soft tissue regeneration,cell adhesion on materials,and contraction to immobilize soft tissue.Enlighted by the close interaction between macrophages and fibroblasts,we propose the concept of an“inflammatory-fibrous complex”to disclose possible methods of precisely and effectively modulating inflammatory and fibrous responses,thus advancing the development of metal soft tissue materials.Peina Huang Jieyun Xu Lv Xie Guangqi Gao Shoucheng Chen Zhuohong Gong Xiaomei Lao Zhengjie Shan Jiamin Shi Zhaocai Zhou Zhuofan Chen Yang Cao Yan Wang Zetao Chen 2023Bioactive Materials2023,,2:0
