| 1 | GS6, A Member of the GRAS Gene Family,Negatively Regulates Grain Size in Rice显示文摘Grain size is an important yield related trait in rice.Intensive arti cial selection for grain size during domestication is evidenced by the larger grains of most of today’s cultivars compared with their wild relatives.However,the molecular genetic control of rice grain size is still not well characterized.Here,we report the identi cation and cloning of Grain Size 6(GS6),which plays an important role in reducing grain size in rice.A premature stop at the t348 position in the coding sequence(CDS)of GS6 increased grain width and weight signi cantly.Alignment of the CDS regions of GS6 in 90 rice materials revealed three GS6alleles.Most japonica varieties(95%)harbor the Type I haplotype,and 62.9%of indica varieties harbor the Type II haplotype.Association analysis revealed that the Type I haplotype tends to increase the width and weight of grains more than either of the Type II or Type III haplotypes.Further investigation of genetic diversity and the evolutionary mechanisms of GS6showed that the GS6gene was strongly selected in japonica cultivars.In addition,a'ggc'repeat region identi ed in the region that encodes the GRAS domain of GS6 played an important historic role in the domestication of grain size in rice.Knowledge of the function of GS6might aid efforts to elucidate the molecular mechanisms that control grain development and evolution in rice plants,and could facilitate the genetic improvement of rice yield. | Lianjun Sun Xiaojiao Li Yongcai Fu Zuofeng Zhu Lubin Tan Fengxia Liu Xianyou Sun Xuewen Sun Chuanqing Sun | 2013 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2013,55,10: | 44 |
| 2 | Identification and mapping of genes for improving yield from Chinese common wild rice (O.rufipogon Griff.) using advanced backcross QTL analysis显示文摘To identify useful genes from wild rice which have been lost or weakened in cultivated rice has become more and more important for modern breeding strategy. In this study, a BC4 population derived from 94W1, an accession of common wild rice (Oryza rufipogon Griff.) from Dongxiang in Jiangxi Province of China, as the donor, and a high-yielding Indica cultivar (O. sativa L.), 'Guichao 2', as the recipient, was used to identify quantitative trait loci (QTL) associated with yield and its components. Based on the analysis for the genotype of BC4F1 population with 87 SSR markers distributed throughout the genome and investigation of the plant height, yield and yield components of BC4F2, a total of 52 QTLs, were detected. Of 7 QTLs associated with grain yield per plant, 2 QTLs on chromosome 2 and chromosome 11 for grain yield, explaining 16% and 11% of the phenotypic variance respectively, were identified. | 6 | Additive and Over-dominant Effects Resulting from Epistatic Loci Are the Primary Genetic Basis of Heterosis in Rice显示文摘A set of 148 F9 recombinant inbred lines(RILs) was developed from the cross of an indica cultivar 93-11 and japonica cultivar DT713,showing strong F1 heterosis.Subsequently,two backcross F1(BCF1) populations were constructed by backcrossing these 148 RILs to two parents,93-11 and DT713.These three related populations(281BCF1 lines,148 RILs) were phenotyped for six yield-related traits in two locations.Significant inbreeding depression was detected in the population of RILS and a high level of heterosis was observed in the two BCF1 populations.A total of 42 main-effect quantitative trait loci(M-QTLs) and 109 epistatic effect QTL pairs(E-QTLs) were detected in the three related populations using the mixed model approach.By comparing the genetic effects of these QTLs detected in the RILs,BCF1 performance and mid-parental heterosis(HMP),we found that,in both BCF1 populations,the QTLs detected could be classified into two predominant types:additive and over-dominant loci,which indicated that the additive and over-dominant effect were more important than complete or partially dominance for M-QTLs and E-QTLs.Further,we found that the E-QTLs detected collectively explained a larger portion of the total phenotypic variation than the M-QTLs in both RILs and BCF1 populations.All of these results suggest that additive and over-dominance resulting from epistatic loci might be the primary genetic basis of heterosis in rice. | Xiaojin Luo Yongcai Fu Peijiang Zhang Shuang Wu Feng Tian Jiayong Liu Zuofeng Zhu Jinshui Yang Chuanqing Sun | 2009 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2009,51,4: | 20 |

Coordinative regulation of leaf, pollen, and seed development in rice as a critical biological and agricultural question should be addressed. Here we identified two allelic rice mutants with narrow and semirolled leaves, named narrow and rolled leaf 2-1(nrl2-1) and nrl2-2. Map-based molecular cloning revealed that NRL2 encodes a novel protein with unknown biochemical function. The mutation of NRL2 caused pleiotropic effects, including a reduction in the number of longitudinal veins, defective abaxial sclerenchymatous cell differentiation, abnormal tapetum degeneration and microspore development, and the formation of more slender seeds compared with the wild type(WT). The NRL2 protein interacted with Rolling-leaf(RL14),causing the leaves of the nrl2 mutants to have a highercellulose content and lower lignin content than the WT, which may have been related to sclerenchymatous cell differentiation and tapetum degeneration. | 11 | Association study of the single nucleotide polymorphisms in adiponectin-associated genes with type 2 diabetes in Han Chinese显示文摘Single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of ADIPOQ, ADIPOR1, and ADIPOR2 have been associated with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), but there are many conflicting results especially in Chinese populations. To investigate the contribution of the adiponectin genes and their receptors to T2DM, a case-control study was performed and 11 SNPs of ADIPOQ, ADIPOR1, and ADIPOR2 were genotyped in 985 T2DM and 1,050 control subjects. rs16861194 (-11426 A>G) in the putative promoter of ADIPOQ was associated with T2DM (P = 0.007; OR = 1.29, 95% CI 1.08-1.55). None of the other 10 SNPs were associated with T2DM in this study, although rs2241766 and rs1501299 were reported to be associated with T2DM in previous Chinese studies. There was also no significant difference found from the ADIPOQ haplotype analysis, which contains rs16861194. In addition, we also assessed potential gene-gene interactions in three genes and no interactions were found. | 13 | Analysis of QTLs for yield-related traits in Yuanjiang common wild rice (Oryza rufipogon Griff.)显示文摘Using an accession of common wild rice (Oryza rufipogon Griff.) collected from Yuanjiang County, Yunnan Province, China, as the donor and an elite cultivar 93-11, widely used in two-line indica hybrid rice production in China, as the recurrent parent, an advanced backcross populations were developed. Through genotyping of 187 SSR markers and investigation of six yield-related traits of two gen- erations (BC4F2 and BC4F4), a total of 26 QTLs were detected by employing single point analysis and interval mapping in both genera-tions. Of the 26 QTLs, the alleles of 10 (38.5%) QTLs originating from O. rufipogon had shown a beneficial effect for yield-related traits in the 93-11 genetic background. In addition, five QTLs controlling yield and its components were newly identified, indicating that there are potentially novel alleles in Yuanjiang common wild rice. Three regions underling significant QTLs for several yield-related traits were detected on chromosome 1, 7 and 12. The QTL clusters were founded and corresponding agronomic traits of those QTLs showed highly significant correlation, suggesting the pleiotropism or tight linkage. | 14 | 乳腺导管内增生性病变及合并浸润性导管癌的临床病理分析(英文)显示文摘Objective:The purpose of this study was to study the clinical and pathological characteristics of breast intraductal proliferative lesions(IDPLs) and associated with invasive breast cancer.Methods:We reviewed 327 cases of breast intraductal proliferative lesions including 53 cases of usual ductal hyperplasia,57 cases of atypical ductal hyperplasia,89 cases of ductal carcinoma in situ,and 128 cases coexist with invasive ductal carcinomas.Cases of pure invasive cancer without intraductal proliferative lesions were excluded.The mult IDPLs biological parameters including the express of ER,PR,HER2,HIF-1α and Ki-67 detected by immunohistochemistry S-P method(n=327) and the levels of CA153,TSGF,CA125 and CEA both in nipple discharge and serum(n=179) measured with Electrochemiluminescence method and their relationship were studied,and 30 cases of normal pregnant women were compared with.Results:A single histologic subtype was present in 49.85%(163/327) of the cases,two subtypes in 33.03%(108/327),and three in 17.13%(56/327).The most common subtypes present were cribriform(43.12%,141/327) and solid(38.53%,126/327),while the comedo(16.35%,54/327),and micropapillary(12.84%,42/327) subtypes were less common.Comedo and solid were frequently found together for coexpression as were micropapillary and papillary subtypes.However,Comedo subtype was much less likely to be found with papillary,cribriform or micropapillary subtypes.Additionally,comedo subtypes tend to be hormone receptor negative,Her2 positive and high-grade while the cribriform and solid subtype tends to be hormone receptor positive,Her2 negative and low grade.Papillary subtype was least likely to be associated with an invasive cancer.Furthermore,the nipple discharge and serum levels of CA153,TSGF,CA125 and CEA in coexist with invasive ductal carcinomas patients were significantly higher than those in the benign breast disease(pure intraductal proliferative lesions) and normal pregnant women(P<0.01).Additionally,the levels of CA153,TSGF,CA125 and CEA in nipple discharge were significantly higher than in the serum(P<0.01),and had a positive correlation with the Ki-67,grade,clinical stage,lymph node metastasis and tumor recurrence(P<0.05),and negative correlation with the level of ER and PR(P<0.05).The sensitivity of the four serum tumor markers in combination was only 69.77%,in contrast,the combined detection both in discharge and serum was 97.67%,and the negative predictive value was 99.03%.The sensitivity of combined detection both in nipple discharge and serum were significantly higher than other detection(P<0.05).Conclusion:IDPLs often present more than one histologic subtype and the most common subtypes are cribriform and solid,while comedo and micropapillary subtypes are less common.Our results suggest that the levels of CA153,TSGF,CA125 and CEA in nipple discharge were significantly higher than those in the serum,and is associated with HIF-1α.The aberration of HIF-1α may play a key role during oncogenesis and promote breast cellular transformation into malignancy,a finding useful for further understanding of tumorigenesis.Nipple discharge can be the earliest presenting symptom of breast cancer.The dynamic combined detection of the four tumor markers both in nipple discharge and serum are helpful to the stratification of preoperative patients and benefit to better prewarning markers for monitoring their recurrence and metastasis and clinical staging of tumors in clinic,but cannot increase the sensitivity of judging the patients with early breast cancer. | Gangping Wang Hong Zhang Zuofeng Zhang Yun'ai Liang Ying Chen Lan Mei | 2013 | The Chinese-German Journal of Clinical Oncology2013,12,12: | 4 |

| 16 | Studies of the first lithiation of graphite materials by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy显示文摘First lithiation of graphite electrode in 1 mol/L LiPF6-EC:DEC:DMC electrolyte was investi- gated by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The results illustrated that the first arc in the high-frequency range observed in the Nyquist dia- gram appears near 0.9 V in the initial lithiation of graphite electrode, and its diameter increases with the decrease of polarization potential. These EIS features were attributed to the formation and growth of SEI film. Appropriate equivalent circuit was pro- posed to fit the experimental EIS data. | 18 | Physical aging in Zr_(46.75)Ti_(8.25)Cu_(7.5)Ni_(10)Be_(27.5) typical bulk metallic glass manifested as enthalpy relaxation显示文摘Enthalpy recovery is not only an important characteristic of physical aging of glass,but also a good tool to investigate the physical aging. Using differential scanning calorimeter (DSC),the enthalpy recovery of Zr46.75Ti8.25Cu7.5Ni10Be27.5 bulk metallic glass (BMG) was studied. The typical characteristics of enthalpy recovery of glass including the sub-Tg peak and ‘overshot’ were found in BMG. The evolution of the sub-Tg peak and ‘overshot’ were described by the free volume theory and Hodge’s model,respectively. It was found that the former failed to describe the enthalpy recovery in the BMG,while the latter could give a qualitative explanation. In com-bination with the dynamics in the BMG,the origin of the enthalpy recovery in the BMG was discussed. The results show that BMGs are an ideal material to investi-gate the physical aging. | 19 | Engineering Two-Phase Bifunctional Oxygen Electrocatalysts with Tunable and Synergetic Components for Flexible Zn-Air Batteries显示文摘Metal-air batteries,like Zn-air batteries(ZABs)are usually suffered from low energy conversion efficiency and poor cyclability caused by the sluggish OER and ORR at the air cathode.Herein,a novel bimetallic Co/CoFe nanomaterial supported on nanoflower-like N-doped graphitic carbon(NC)was prepared through a strategy of coordination construction-cation exchange-pyrolysis and used as a highly efficient bifunctional oxygen electrocatalyst.Experimental characterizations and density functional theory calculations reveal the formation of Co/CoFe heterostructure and synergistic effect between metal layer and NC support,leading to improved electric conductivity,accelerated reaction kinetics,and optimized adsorption energy for intermediates of ORR and OER.The Co/CoFe@NC exhibits high bifunctional activities with a remarkably small potential gap of 0.70 V between the half-wave potential(E_(1/2))of ORR and the potential at 10 mA cm^(-2)(E_(j=10))of OER.The aqueous ZAB constructed using this air electrode exhibits a slight voltage loss of only 60 mV after 550-cycle test(360 h,15 days).A sodium polyacrylate(PANa)-based hydrogel electrolyte was synthesized with strong water-retention capability and high ionic conductivity.The quasi-solid-state ZAB by integrating the Co/CoFe@NC air electrode and PANa hydrogel electrolyte demonstrates excellent mechanical stability and cyclability under different bending states. | Yanli Niu Xue Teng Shuaiqi Gong Mingze Xu Shi-Gang Sun Zuofeng Chen | 2021 | Nano-Micro Letters2021,13,8: | 2 |
| 20 | Engineering iron-group bimetallic nanotubes as efficient bifunctional oxygen electrocatalysts for flexible Zn–air batteries显示文摘Air cathode performance is essential for rechargeable zinc–air batteries(ZABs).In this study,we develop a self-templated synthesis technique for fabricating bimetallic alloys(FeNi_(3)),bimetallic nitrides(FeNi_(3)N)and heterostructured FeNi_(3)/FeNi_(3)N hollow nanotubes.Owing to its structural and compositional advantages,FeNi_(3)/FeNi_(3)N exhibits remarkable bifunctional oxygen electrocatalytic performance with an extremely small potential gap of 0.68V between the oxygen evolution reaction(OER)and oxygen reduction reaction(ORR).Theoretical calculations reveal reduced Gibbs free energy for the rate-limiting O–O bond formation during OER due to the self-adaptive surface reconfiguration,which induces a synergistic effect between Fe(Ni)OOH developed in situ on the surface and the inner FeNi_(3)/FeNi_(3)N.ZAB fabricated using the FeNi_(3)/FeNi_(3)N catalyst shows high power density,small charge/discharge voltage gap and excellent cycling stability.In addition to its excellent battery performance,the corresponding quasi-solid-state ZAB shows robust flexibility and integrability.The synthesis method is extended to prepare a CoFe/CoFeN oxygen electrocatalyst,demonstrating its applicability to other iron-group elements. | Yanli Niu Shuaiqi Gong Xuan Liu Chen Xu Mingze Xu Shi-Gang Sun Zuofeng Chen | 2022 | eScience2022,2,5: | 2 |
