| 2 | Sevoflurane postconditioning protects against myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury by restoring autophagic flux via an NO-dependent mechanism显示文摘Volatile anesthetics improve postischemic cardiac function and reduce infarction even when administered for only a brief-time at the onset of reperfusion.A recent study showed that sevoflurane postconditioning (SPC)attenuated myocardial reperfusion injury, but the underlying mechanisms remain unclear,in this study,we examined the effects of sevoflurane on nitric oxide (NO)release and autophagic flux during the myocardial ischemia/reperfusion (I/R)injury in rats in vivo and ex vivo.Male rats were subjected to 30 min ischemia and 2 h reperfusion in the presence or absence of sevoflurane (1.0 minimum alveolar concentration)during the first 15 min of reperfusion.We found that SPC significantly improved hemodynamic performance after reperfusion,alleviated postischemic myocardial infarction,reduced nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide content loss,and cytochrome c.release in heart tissues.Furthermore,SPC significantly increased the phosphorylation of endothelial nitric oxide synthase (NOS)and neuronal nitric oxide synthase,and elevated myocardial NOS activity and NO production.All these effects were abolished by treatment with an NOS inhibitor NG-nitro-L-arginine methyl ester (L-NAME,10 mg/kg,i.v.).We also observed myocardial I/R-induced accumulation of autophagosomes in heart tissues,as evidenced by increased ratios of microtubule:associated protein 1 light chain 3 Ⅱ/Ⅰ,upregulation of Beclin 1 and P62,and reduced lysosome-assciated membrane protein-2 expression.SPC significantly attenuated I/R- impaired autophagic flux,which were blocked by L-NAME.Moreover,pretreatment with the autophagic flUX blocker chloroquine (10 mg/kg,i.p.)increased autophagosome accumulation in SPC-treated heart following I/R and blocked SPC-induced cardioprotection.The same results were also observed in a rat model of myocardial I/R injury ex vivo,suggesting that SPC protects rat hearts against myocardial reperfusion injury by restoring I/R-impaired autophagic flux yia an NO-dependent mechanism. | Shi-gang Qiao Ying Sun Bo Sun An Wang Jia Qiu Lei Hong Jian-zhong An Chen Wang Hui-ling Zhang | 2019 | Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2019,40,1: | 21 |
| 3 | The anti-photooxidation of anthocyanins-rich leaves of a purple rice cultivar显示文摘In the leaf of rice (Oryza sativa L.) cultivar Yunnan purple rice,the anthocyanins with an obvious absorption peak at 530nm were distributed in the cells of upper and lower epidermis,bulliform tissue and bristle. The maximal photosynthetic oxygen evolution rate and chlorophyll content in flag leaves were 28% and 23%,respectively,more than the common green leaf rice cultivar Chijiaoru-anzhan. Higher chlorophyll content is probably one of the physiological adaptations for enhancing light harvesting capacity of the antenna in photosystems in this cyanic leaves species. Upon the photooxidation of leaf segments mediated by methyl viologen in weak light for 3 days,the distinct bleaching of anthocyanins in purple rice was associated with the reduction of scavenging ability to DPPH· free radical ability and the increase in membrane leakage rate. But almost no changes in contents of flavonoids and total phenolics were observed. Chlorophyll fluorescence parameters Fv/Fo,qP and φPSⅡ decreased with the increase in NPQ and DES of xanthophylls cycle after photooxidation treatment. Green rice leaves showed more decrease in DPPH· scavenging rate and more increase in cell membrane leakage rate but showed a trace of anthocyanins during photooxidation. It is sug-gested that anthocyanin may be a beneficial and primary antioxidant in sun cyanic rice leaves against oxidative stress induced by environmental adversity. | 4 | Synergistic activity of lawsone methyl ether in combination with some antibiotics and artocarpin against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, Candida albicans, and Trychophyton rubrum显示文摘Objective: One appealing strategy to overcome and prevent resistant problem is the use of combined two or more antibacterial substances. Lawsone methyl ether(LME) is the naphthoquinone found in the leaves of Impatiens balsamina. The objective of this study is to determine the interaction of LME with some antibiotics(ampicillin, tetracycline, norfloxacin, and clotrimazole) and a natural compound, artocarpin against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA), Candida albicans, and Trychophyton rubrum.Methods: A broth microdilution method was used to determine the minimum inhibition concentration(MIC). Synergistic effects were evaluated at their own MIC using the checkerboard method and time-kill assay.Results: LME showed moderate antibacterial activity against MRSA with MIC value of 15.6 μg/mL, and exhibited strong antifungal activities against T. rubrum and C. albicans with MIC values of 7.8 and 3.9 μg/m L,respectively. The interaction of LME with the natural compound artocarpin against MRSA produced a synergy with fractional inhibitory concentration index(FICI) value of 0.31, while the combination of LME and clotrimazole exhibited synergy against C. albicans and T. rubrum with FICI values of 0.38 and 0.24, respectively. The time-kill assays confirmed that the compounds in combination enhanced their antimicrobial activities against the resistant microorganisms with different degrees.Conclusion: LME in combination with clotrimazole exhibited synergy effect against C. albicans and T.rubrum. | 5 | Synthesis, isolation and characterization of methyl levulinate from cellulose catalyzed by extremely low concentration acid显示文摘A direct synthesis of methyl levulinate from cellulose alcoholysis in methanol medium under mild condition(180 210 C)catalyzed by extremely low concentration sulfuric acid(0.01 mol/L)and the product isolation were developed in this study.Effects of different process variables towards the catalytic performance were performed as a function of reaction time.The results indicated that sulfuric acid concentration,temperature and initial cellulose concentration had significant effects on the synthesis of methyl levulinate.An optimized yield of around 50%was achieved at 210 C for 120 min with sulfuric acid concentration of 0.01 mol/L and initial cellulose concentration below 100 g/L.The resulting product mixture was isolated by a distillation technique that combines an atmospheric distillation with a vacuum distillation where n-dodecane was added to help distill the heavy fraction.The light fraction including mainly methanol could be reused as the reaction medium without any substantial change in the yield of methyl levulinate.The chemical composition and structural of lower heavy fraction were characterized by GC/MS,FTIR,1H-NMR and13C-NMR techniques.Methyl levulinate was found to be a major ingredient of lower heavy fraction with the content over 96%.This pathway is efficient,environmentally benign and economical for the production of pure levulinate esters from cellulose. | Hui Li Lincai Peng Lu Lin Keli Chen Heng Zhang | 2013 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2013,22,6: | 9 |

| 7 | Influence of MnO_2 on the photocatalytic activity of P-25 TiO_2 in the degradation of methyl orange显示文摘Influences of α-MnO2, β-MnO2, and δ-MnO2 on the photocatalytic activity of Degussa P-25 TiO2 have been investigated through the photocatalytic degradation of methyl orange. The TiO2 photocatalyst, before and after being contaminated by MnO2, was characterized by UV-visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (UV-vis DRS), photoluminescence (PL), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The results showed that photocatalytic activity of TiO2 could be inhibited significantly or completely deactivated due to the presence of even a small amount of MnO2 particles. It was found that the poisoning effect varied with the crystal phases of MnO2 and the effect was in the order δ-MnO2 >α-MnO2 >β-MnO2. The poisoning effect was attributed to the formation of heterojunctions between MnO2 and TiO2 particles. The heterojunctions changed the chemical state of Ti4+ and O2 sites in the crystalline phase of TiO2. MnO2 in contact with TiO2 particles also broadens the band-gap of TiO2, which decreases UV absorption of TiO2. | 11 | Analysis of the essential DNA region for OsEBP-89 promoter in response to methyl jasmonic acid显示文摘In rice, the characterization of OsEBP-89 is inducible by various stress- or hormone-stimuli, including ethylene, abscisic acid (ABA), jasmonate acid (JA), drought and cold. Here, we report the investigation of essential DNA region within OsEBP-89 promoter for methyl jasmonic acid (MeJA) induction. PLACE analysis indicates that this promoter sequence contains multiple potential elements in response to various stimuli. First, we fused this promoter with GUS gene and analyzed its expression under MeJA treatment through Agrobacterium infiltration mediating transient expression in tobacco leaves. Our results revealed that this chimeric gene could be inducible by MeJA in tobacco leaves. To further de- termine the crucial sequences responsible for MeJA induction, we generated a series of deletion pro- moters which were fused with GUS reporter gene respectively. The results of transient expression of GUS gene driven by these mutant promoters show that the essential region for MeJA induction is po- sitioned in the region between -1200 and -800 in OsEBP-89 promoter containing a G-box (?1127), which is distinct from the essential region containing ERE (?562) for ACC induction. | 14 | Simultaneous Removal of H_2S and Organosulfur Compounds from Liquefied Petroleum Gas Using Formulated Solvents: Solubility Parameter Investigation and Industrial Test显示文摘The performance of four formulated solvents(labeled as UDS-I, UDS-II, UDS-III, and UDS-IV) for removing methyl mercaptan from liquefied petroleum gas was predicted based on a two-dimensional solubility parameter theory. The calculation results show that UDS-IV has the closest solubility parameter to that of methyl mercaptan as compared with other tested solvents, indicating the strongest affinity and the highest solubility for methyl mercaptan. The industrial tests at a plant for desulfurization of LPG produced from the delayed coker have shown that the UDS solvents have the excellent performance for removal of organosulfur compounds(mainly methyl mercaptan). Although the sulfur loading dramatically increases, the total sulfur content of LPG treated with UDS-IV can be reduced by about 50% in comparison with N-methyl diethanolamine. In addition, UDS-IV has superior regeneration performance and selectivity for sulfur compounds over hydrocarbons. | 15 | Extractive Distillation of Methyl Acetate-Methanol Azeotrope Using [DMIM]DMP as Solvent显示文摘In order to separate methyl acetate and methanol azeotrope, the ionic liquid(IL) 1,3-dimethylimidazolium dimethylphosphate([DMIM]DMP) was used as the solvent. The Aspen Plus software was used to design and optimize the extractive distillation process. Under the optimized conditions, the mass fractions of methyl acetate and methanol were both above 99.5%. Compared with the dimethyl sulfoxide(DMSO) process, the [DMIM]DMP process has the advantages of saving energy and lower equipment investment cost. | 17 | Study on the Removal of MIBK from Aqueous Solution by Vacuum Membrane Distillation显示文摘Methyl isobutyl ketone(MIBK) is widely used as extraction agent in hydrometallurgy. As it has a definite solubility in water, so when using MIBK as extraction agent, there will be MIBK in stripping solutions inevitably, which not only pollutes working conditions, but also affects the quality of ultimate product. In order to remove MIBK from aqueous solutions, the means of flat vacuum membrane distillation(VMD) is studied in the paper. The area of the membrane used in the study is 0.02 m 2, the initial volume of feed is 2 L, each experiment was conducted over a time period of 60 120 min. The influences of the factors such as temperature(34.8 55.0 ℃); pressure in the permeate side(10.67 14.67 kPa) and feed flow rate(27.8 69.4 mL/s) were experimentally studied. Increasing the temperature or reducing the pressure in the permeate side results in a faster removal of MIBK; however there is a decrease in removal factor β , increasing the feed flow rate results in a faster removal of MIBK and an increase of removal factor β , especially in the range of lower flow rate. The crystalline structure, morphology, and optical properties of Cu_2MoS_4 nanoparticles were characterized using X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, field emission scanning electron microscopy, and UV-vis spectrophotometry. | 20 | Weaning methods affect ruminal methanogenic archaea composition and diversity in Holstein calves显示文摘The objective of the present study was to examine the effect of different weaning methods on the ruminal methanogenic archaea composition and diversity in Holstein calves.Thirty-six newborn Holstein bull calves were assigned to 1 of 3 treatments:(1)conventional weaning(d 56)and fed a high proportion of solid feed(CWS);(2)conventional weaning(d 56)and fed a high proportion of liquid feed(CWL);(3)early weaning(d 42)and fed with a high proportion of solid feed(EWS).High-throughput sequencing of the methyl coenzyme M reductase(mcr A)gene,which encodes theα-subunit of methyl coenzyme M reductase-the enzyme that catalyzes the final step in methanogenesis was used to determine the composition and diversity of rumen methanogens.No significant difference(P>0.05)was observed for operational taxonomic units(OTUs)or richness indices,but diversity indices increased(P<0.05)for calves fed high dietary solids.Predominant families across the three treatments were Methanobacteriaceae,Thermoplasmataceae and Methanomassiliicoccaceae.Calves in the EWS treatment had a higher(P<0.05)relative abundance of Methanobrevibacter sp.strain AbM4 and Methanosphaera stadtmanae,while calves in the CWL treatment had a higher(P<0.05)abundance of Methanosphaera sp.strain SM9.A positive(P<0.05)relationship was identified between butyrate and Methanobrevibacter sp.strain AbM4.In conclusion,the composition and diversity of methanogens in the rumen of Holstein calves varied under the different weaning methods.This study identified a positive relationship between butyrate and Methanobrevibacter sp.strain AbM4,potentially reflecting correlations between ruminal fermentation variables and methanogenesis function.These in-depth analyses provide further understanding of weaning methods for intensified production systems. | DONG Li-feng MA Jun-nan TU Yan DIAO Qi-yu | 2019 | Journal of Integrative Agriculture2019,18,5: | 4 |
